It's actually you atheists that are so dumb.

A cursory glance at nature should tell anybody with sense that the meticulous ORDER that permeates the seen universe can only be the result of intelligence.

Thankfully Quantum Physics has proven that consciousness is the primary essence that permeates creation.

Go and educate yourself and stop wallowing in ignorance.

But why are you rushing your life story?

It sounds like it would be a fascinating read if you took time to pace yourself.

There is a big difference between fast food and a well cooked meal.

kaykith05:
Life in naija turned out “not to be a bed of roses”, especially when I left tertiary school. I was ambitious and had dreams and plans, and I thank God I’m not the lazy type (according to one of our presdo), so I had to hustle to sustain and also save up for better plans.

Before I gained admission, I had this phone skill; like I know the in and out of most phone, from the days of 3310 to the Java phone era to Symbian OS glory days to practically any phone type, so it was pretty easy for me to troubleshoot, diagnose and solve software related problems of every kind and a lil bit of hardware knowledge.

While in school, through a friend, I motivated myself, bought myself my 1st laptop (compaq presario) and my friends saw me as a big boy but that wasn’t the case. I was hustling for over a month, while school had resumed to save and buy it but nobody knew. I’m also thankful to God for my academic prowess, I’m not the best, but I do catch up quickly, so staying away for a month didn’t mean too much. I got enrolled in a computer training on campus, that was my intro to IT (my dream).

Live was easy and sweet on campus, even though there are days that I drank garri and trekked to lecture, it was overall a lovely experience.

Fast forward to after graduation, I couldn’t get a good paying job except teaching, which I did for a couple of months and it even made my financial life miserable. So I fell back to my God-given strength went back to a labor-intensive job which I hustled while in school. The pay was good as I could save up to a 100k in a month during peak seasons; that’s aside my daily spendings and weekend balling.

It was now time to have a plan for my life (phone accessories and digital entertainment business). Hustled hard for about 4 months, raised a substantial amount (no amount is ever enough for that biznez), just to start up something.

First few months was kinda dull, business wise but I had strong faith and hope, and that is the “KEY”. After one year, there was visible growth in the business; 2nd year, I expanded my shop. 3rd year saw strategic improvements; 4th year, I added phone sales to the business.

2 years later, added Laptop sales to it. Also I bought my 1st car after 3 years in business, sold It and bought another (Toyota fisheye) after 2 years. Then I bought (Camry muscle) before disposing the fisheye.

And lest I forget, I got married to a darling based in the US. A lot of things happened in between these times which time will not permit me to share but we never gave up. Like 2baba said “if dem tell you say e easy, na set-up”, man’s got to always forge ahead.

Watch out for part 2 which is (My Exodus) another day, I rest for now.

Here’s me marketing my car before traveling out.

When they ask for educated women to raise their hands, this one too will raise.

What is the value of education when you are incapable of thinking?

A girl asked for transport money to come visit a man, she then proceeds to switch off her phone and this lawyer is saying that this act can be termed a crime...

Then this person below says any man who is waiting for a girl to come visit him deserves to be extorted.

Nairaland should require people to complete an IQ test as part of the registration process so that some people will be turned back.

BluntTheApostle:
I remember my own first experience with a foreign firm on Zoom.

I had to study Brighter Grammar to sharpen my English. I did a lot more other things. I even did rehearsals, studied the job description, downloaded videos on YouTube.

On D Day when I found myself on the hot seat, I became a stammerer. Ordinary to say hello back to the interviewer, I was just stammering all over the place like a fool. I was like "em...you see...hope you get." The Oyinbo man was just looking at me as if I were an alien from Mars. Next thing, the blunders started flowing. These were blunders which under normal circumstances I would never make. Anyways, at a point, I was so helpless that I laughed. The Oyinbo's expression was like, "What the damn is funny, you fool!"

Since then, I have developed a phobia for interviews with foreign firms.

There is little guarantee that one such as yourself is capable of playing your role to its optimum.

You want to play around "soft" roles like taking care of kids. Roles that you can do a bad job at for 20yrs and still get a free pass.

Your husband pays all the bills and carries the responsibilities.

You "train" children.

Any period your husband fails it will become an issue.

But if you fail to instill discipline, a sense of imagination, a work ethic, self esteem etc in the kids- who will hold you responsible?

You are a 419

I didn't say I won't bring, I said I won't share financial responsibilities as u people keep saying.

Even in govt, there is division of power.
Most men feel as long as they bring money, thats the ultimate but they forgot that there are other roles to play and they turn blind and deaf and allows the woman to bear all the burden.

Coups happened in all those MUSLIM countries.

Infact, let's take Egypt as an example...what happened in 1952?
Sudan, what happened in the late 1960's (Nimery) and the year 1986 (Bashir) and more recently?
Morroco...1971...the King nearly got overthrown, and by someone he considered a friend.
Algeria...1992...when the generals acted to secure the secular state
Turkey..happened too many times, and then there was a recent attempted coup.
Oman...the recently deceased emir took power after overthrowing his dad ( a coup i actually approve of, as the dad was deliberately keeping the country backward, meanwhile other Arab countries were advancing, and that was a future threat.)

I could go on.

Modified

Saudi Arabia....there was a failed coup that led to the death of the then king, and then there was the events at Mecca in 1979 that was basically a coup against the state.

I struggle to understand the relevance of your post in response to his.

Although all you claimed is true- what does it matter. He never said Shagari was an exceptional leader.

Is there any democracy as old as ours that hasn't had at least one poor leader?

The aim of democracy is that the people have the right to remove any leader they feel is non performing.

A right which Buhari kept from us in 2019
backbencher:
Shagari was a bad leader, and IMHO, if there was no coup, the NPN would have been voted out by landslide in 1987, assuming the opposition got its act together, and united...because Nigerians would have been tired of them. (Signs were there in 1983 already)

Not only was the massive corruption a bad thing, but Shagari then, like Buhari now, kept our country more and more dependent on oil. He failed to also anticipate and deal with the decline in most of our other sources of income (groundnut pyramids ended under his regime, tin mining went to zero , and so on), and when the oil crash happened in 1982, our economy began its slow decline.....

Shagari should not have been overthrown, (we lost a lot of things as a result of the 1966 and 83 coups) and the 1983 coup was illegal, but in the end, he was not a brilliant leader.

The ignorant are always the loudest on Nairaland.

Have you ever observed proceedings in the US Family Court?

We both know the answer is no!

The rich and powerful don't divorce in family court.

The judges in their cases are meticulous because of the calibre of people before them.

Family Court is rowdy like Mushin. Nobody has the time to go and be searching the whole world for your assets. It's what the wife claims the man has that they work with unless the man can prove that the wife is lying.

The most unjust court in the world is the US Family Court. It is against the men and that you don't know this tells a lot.

Angelfrost:
Well, they don't just deliberately or maliciously put men in dire straits... There are investigations, proper fact finding, and assessment of finances before judges make their judgement.

The woman is usually deemed the one at the receiving end, especially if kids are involved. Women also have lesser chances of getting on financially compared to men (this is a globally accepted fact)!

There are known cases where the woman loses out in divorces if facts show she was unfaithful, violent, abusive, financially better than the man, etc....

It's because of people like you that some said a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.

So you know about body chemicals? Great.
So what causes a particular chemical to initiate a reaction and not a different one?

If it's just chemicals reacting like in a lab then why don't these reactions continue after death?

Why do these chemicals react even when the child is still in the womb and is not even conscious of external stimuli? It has been shown that a foetus is impacted by the emotional state of its mother!
