Foreign AffairsRe: The Gruesome Murder Of The Roman Emperor - Julius Caesar (Throwback) by VULCAN(m):
Your contribution would have been perfect if not your assertion that Caesar was a tyrant.

That submission is a bit ignorant.

He was actually an exceptional leader.

Yes, he had excesses like most men who have absolute power but he was loved by the masses.

That is why they wiped out his murderers.

Could that have happened if the people hated him?

The irony that their murderers actions led to the very thing they were afraid of is a lesson we should all learn.

Fear leads one down a dark path if you let it.

Wisereborn:
The Liberators didn't hate their country but they were just afraid of his tyranny and dictatorship and fear that he could get worse

This particular scenario reminds me of the relationship between the Nigerian politicians and their thugs

After unleashing the thugs on the people during election, the elected politicians will retrieve the weapons from the thugs

The thugs could have been regarded as the heroes if they had used the weapons to place the right leaders there just like the Roman Lower Class did but no! They remain a nobody/dead, exiled or forgotten

While the villains remain leaders till date

There is something to be learnt from this story but only the wise can relate undecided

Your conclusions have little or nothing to do with the text.

I had to reread the OP after reading your post just to see if I could find the basis of your conclusions and I could not.

Because it wasn't there.

You came to your conclusions because you projected your own thoughts into the text

In no shape or form is the OP transferring responsibility for these evils to the society or the Devil.

Rather he is saying that these impulses to do these things emanate from them.

In that he is correct.

But as humans we are not supposed to be slaves to impulses especially if one is in Christ.

All impulses have an origin and he is simply explaining that the source of these impulses is the same as the source of the condemnation after you have carried them out.

That should be enough to keep many people who have spiritual senses in check.

For the rest, they are too far gone to turn back yet.

They will learn to live with the regrets.

You have spoken well.

But you ignore the undisputed fact that these millions of Yorubas are quieter than a pauper's grave.

They do not speak up online, in public, nor in private.

In law, silence is consent.

So let them accept the label that is being given to them.

It's only fair.

ivandragon:
You guys need to stop this sweeping castigations of ethnic groups, in this case Yorubas, especially on this APC/BAT issue.

There are millions of Yorubas who do not support BAT or APC. But when people like you turn it to ethnic 'war', you force such persons to take sides by defending thier ethnicity.

Limit your criticism to the APC & BAT, don't drag the whole ethnic group into such matters.

I keep saying that many people will just open the bible and read the opinions of Paul when he was writing letters to different churches and now want to enforce Paul letters as the standard of Christianity.
Paul was not even amongst those that were with Christ and understood all what Christ was about. People like peter, James etc. Paul was an apostle like Barnabas and need validation from the disciples of Christ.
Any time you want to see a pastor or anyone cap about the bible they will quickly open to one of the books written by Paul.

Many people don't know that the Hebrew or Jewish religious practice is nothing similar or close to Christianity, its even closer to Islam than christian.

Without data I'm very sure an Israeli can easily switch to practice Islam compared to practicing Christianity.
CelebritiesRe: Mohbad Appears On New York Times Square’s Billboard (Video) by VULCAN(m):
It's irrelevant whether you join "the herd" as you put it.

The herd as you so derogatively refer to are the people who are reacting to his death. They are blaming Naira Marley because Mohbad himself first said so in his petition to the police that Naira and Sam Larry should be held responsible for his death.

How you can ignore that shows how dark your heart is.

Also the fact that many in the industry have come out to point fingers at Naira is much more important than the jargons you wrote about capitalism.

Something which you have experienced from a prism of poverty.

Everything you wrote about capitalism would make a hedge fund owner laugh at your ignorance.

To think that money is more important than the right idea is a belief that betrays your poverty mindset.

Wealthy investors globally are hunting for the Next Big Idea. They have billions of dollars but not enough places to put it that is likely to bring growth.

From nowhere 3 yrs ago, AI has become the investors delight. Billions of dollars have moved into AI companies within 9 months just because of chatGPT.

I know you are unable to believe that.

I understand.

You have never had access to people who have more money than they know what to do with.

Even the examples you gave were based on ignorance.

Elon Musk, The Google Guys, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos and others are in control of their companies despite taking on investments worth hundreds of millions BEFORE going public.

All you have done in your write up is reveal a poverty mindset and a carnivorous attitude towards any who would come to you for investment.

You are precisely the reason why many entrepreneurs in Nigeria shun Nigerian investors.

Because many have your evil winner takes all mindset.

I pray you never get to the point where you have so much money that you will be looking for people to prey on.

You have little now but you are looking forward to the day when you will offer someone N3m for 80% of their company.

Wicked fellow!!

N3TRAL:
Mohbad is dead and he went to the grave on his family's approval but was brought back for autopsy due to public interest.

It is okay to mourn the early demise of the short-lived popstar but I stand with Naira Marley in all of this.

I stand with Naira Marley as a capitalist believer. Zinolesky, Mohbad, Kizz Daniel, Ayra Starr, Rema, Asake, Fireboy, Khaid are not musical stars just because they are talented. In fact, being a popular musical star has nothing to do with knowing how to sing or one's dexterity with musical instruments.

They're musical stars because someone took a loan from the bank or lenders and invested tens of millions of Naira or even dollars to put them in your faces until you accept them as stars by force. Everyone blames the record label bosses because they're not the main actors who perform on stage.

An idea is worth nothing without the resources to amplify it. In tech, angel investors and venture capitalists take the lion's share leaving founders with the bulk of the burden. In sports, agents like Mendes take their big cut. If it was easy, Mbappe would just wake up and leave PSG for Madrid. Why is it always different in the music business?

Defend the deceased as much as you like but the fact remains that nobody on the face of the earth forced him to sign the deal with Marlian records. When you sign an agreement, fortunately, one that brings fame and money to you, the least you can do is honour it.

If Loan Apps in Nigeria, like Palmpay, that have foreign investors and major corporate personnel have resorted to blackmailing the families of loan defaulters and even crashing events to disgrace and arrest their debtors what do you think street boys who hustled all their lives will do if a fellow ghetto nobody they lifted out of poverty plays ping pong with their millions worth of investment?

I unequivocally condemn the mode of debt recovery above as I only used that real-life scenario to point out the fact that Mohbad was Naira Marley's debtor until he died. The Courtroom or Arbitration house remains the best destination for dispute settlement.

However it must be stated that Mohbad's tragedy and Naira Marley's cancellation is like a loan app debtor committing suicide because the loan sharks blackmailed him to his family, friends, and colleagues. Naira Marley is simply that loan shark whose chronic debtor is involved in a fatal accident while trying to avoid the loan shark's constant harassment. Nobody blames the dead debtor but everyone blames the loan shark who had once given the debtor money and hope even though the debtor failed to keep his own part of the bargain.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family in their period of grief. I genuinely mourn Mohbad but refuse to join the herd to link his death to Naira Marley.

The most dangerous people are the naive ones.

They completely ignore the current realities which in itself is not such a bad thing if only they are working to change things but they live in a Dreamland where everything is hunky dory.

Therefore, they do NOT work towards changing things.

They are what bad leaders thrive on to maintain their mediocrity, evil and selfishness.

Rossikk:
The trouble with your position is that there are also many small, largely homogenous African nations that are terribly unstable. Somalia is a great example. Single ethnicity more or less, with over 85% Somali ethnicity. Yet, trouble from morning till night there.

Conversely, Togo has 40 ethnic groups, and is extremely peaceful.

The thing is Africa is by far the most ethnically diverse continent, with HALF the languages on Earth spoken in Africa, which has over 3,000 languages.

So you have NO CHOICE but to abandon tribalism and learn to live in multi-ethnic societies. You cannot have 3,000 countries in Africa, because that would make us extremely vulnerable to western exploitation and manipulation, far worse than exists today.

They are usually invested in the allure of bad boys untill they begin to approach the wall say around 28, with a stretched out 🐈, a couple of abortions and a plethora of mental and psychological problems, then they find a simp who has been trying to land a hot babe all his life but face rejection after rejection becasue he is too short or too something... Then like a narcissist, they tailor thier attitude and character to align with his desires until after a couple of kids and marriage then boom, he is not meeting up to thier expectations, his sex life is poor, he works too much, then they rekindle old flings with thier ex who lives far away, send him a couple of nudes just to activate the he goat in him, he finds a way to come to town, she keeps the kids with the simp and goes to get her guts pushed in by the bad boy... She comes back home to the simp who believes he is doing what a man should do and taking care of his family without the slightest clue that he is only playing a game society has put before him and generations before him... PoliticsRe: Insecurity: Wike Presents 10 Vehicles To Ten Third Class Chiefs by VULCAN(m): 8:15am On Sep 16, 2023
You are a gifted writer. This is hilarious

Kukutenla:
Subsidy removal money is doing wonders

But truth be told, these cars will really help the third class traditional rulers fight insecurity to a standstill.

Just imagine if the traditional rulers need to get information about the movement of bandits. Where else to get such info if not through visits to dibias, who see the gateway between the living and the spirits?

How do they get to the dibias who reside where no legs can reach if these vehicles are not available?

And if the bandits somehow strike even after their secrets have been leaked, who best to call if not the ancestors of these third class traditional rulers, ancient warriors who fought the forebears of bandits to a standstill before the white men came?

But the ancestors with their tired bones will need all the help they can get to reach the scene of action as soon as possible. These cars will help in that regard.

What if the bandits take to their heels using those bikes they are synonymous with after capturing a few helpless subjects of the third class traditional rulers?

What can be the best way to give them a hot chase in the dead of the night through the thick of the forest?

None else than these four wheeled machines!!

The roaring sound of the racing engines raving through the woods will scare the bandits to their bones and force them to surrender to the superior engine of the Nissan beast and set free their captives!!

There's no doubt therefore that these cars are richly desired and required by these third class traditional rulers in carrying out the thankless task of battling insecurity with every drop of their royal blood, and I commend Minister Wike's robustly kind gesture with a 39 year old whiskey bottle that's billed to turn forty years tomorrow.

I think you need to be a bit more imaginative and learn to read btw the lines.

The report is based on men who brought their kids to test.

Most men would never do so because they trust their wives implicitly.

Unfortunately, there are men who trust their wives but do not know she had goodbye sex with an ex the week before the wedding.

There are men who do not know that their wife has an ex who flies into Nigeria twice a year and wouldn't believe what they do together.

So therefore this report DOES NOT prove that Nigerian women are faithful.

That would take random tests carried out across the population to confirm such

JAMO84:
More than 70% of the results proved the men are the biological father. So this your propaganda is useless. The report proved majority of our Women are faithful to their husbands.

TravelRe: After JAPA - How Long It Took To Make Your First 100 Million by VULCAN(m): 12:20pm On Sep 09, 2023
I was rather disappointed reading your write up because it's one of the worst cases of projection I have read about in a while.

You are earning seven figures and have no dependants and you are comparing yourself to those earning seven or six figures but have 3 kids to cater for.

If you were paying out N2-3m every term for school fees and it's ancillaries, coupled with regular contributions to parents and relatives, I'm sure you wouldn't be asking us such a question.

The people that earn 7 figures in Nigeria and live in highbrow areas don't send their kids to cheap schools.

But it's your complete inability to see beyond your own nose that's saddening.

In UK, US and Canada, parents pay next to nothing for school fees unless they chose to- by sending their kids to certain types of schools.

Having a second passport from some selected countries is worth much more than staying here and earning N5m a month, especially when you have dependents.

It's an unquantifiable advantage.

That you boil down Japa to just a money led goal tells me you have a rather narrow view of life.

Zyxsc:
I'm a software engineer working remotely from Nigeria. I earn a 7-figure monthly salary.
With my salary only (at an average exchange rate of 850/$), it would take me about 6.6 years to save up 100 million, provided I have zero dependents and had to cater only for myself throughout those years. It's quite a naive way to project this though because a lot of things can happen along those years. But it still gives an idealistic comparison base.

So my question goes to Nigerians currently living or have lived abroad. Can you tell us the country, the job title, and how long it would take to save up to NGN100 milliion, assuming you have zero dependents and have to cater for only yourself. Do remember to factor in taxes if any and other living expenses for yourself alone

The reason for my question is not far-fetched. I'm just wondering if it's worth it to sell ones' properties worth milliions just to JAPA and go start over again. Please, refrain from dragging the country's situation into your answer or any other reason to JAPA. Kindly focus on answering the question as best as possible.

Thanks.
