We know the source of the funds they used to rent the crowd and we wish the people and businesses in Akwa Ibom will enjoy the income that comes with this massive crowd visit to Uyo. The first people to oppose privatisation or PPP will be ASUU, for no good reason .
A close look at the budget shows government is spending a lot on Education but by far more on recurrent than capital expenditure which is the issue and any attempt to change things will be firmly resisted by the same ASUU, so it is quite difficult to separate ASUU from the problem of universities.

I disagree with you on the ground that you think FG is spending a lot more on education today and I think your fanatism about the current FG clouded your reasoning.

lol, first of all on the struggling economy and oil price it is not an excuse rather it is the reality and Nigerians must come to terms with it. Secondly there is no diversification that can be done in 4yrs even 10yrs will not be enough, everything being done is to serve as building blocks for the future.
Lastly, oil remains by far the highest source of revenue for government today and all the other sources of funding you mentioned put together of which most if not all are included in the budget cannot fund up to 10% of the budget.
These are all digressions by the way, the main issue is ASUU's insensitivity to the plight of students and the irreparable damage their incessant strike actions are causing to the Nigerian tertiary educational system. People are forced to seek education in fellow African countries who do not even have better infrastructure but because of the sole reason that they will be sure of their year of graduation.
Need i remind you that there is no sector in Nigeria that is properly funded so should the whole country be shut down? The answer is definitely no because any proposed solution that worsens the situation is simply a complication.

In 2017, this current FG revalidated the agreement with ASUU but reneged on the agreement. Why validate an agreement you don't intend to keep?

Should we blame ASUU for the state of infrastuctures and facilities in the schools? Do an analysis of the 2019 budget and check the percentage allocation to education against recurrent expenditure and then tell me if you think FG cares about the future of the Nigerian students.

If you can't manage with the expenditure on the higher institutions, let it go on privatisation or public private partnership.
