I’ve got a first class too, with a PhD. So what?

You're quite shallow. The only reason I mentioned my qualification was because you insinuated I couldn't get admitted into an MSc programme.

This back and forth argument is getting stale and unnecessary. While you might like dragging irrelevant issues, remember we're derailing from the purpose of this thread.

Act your age.

Hello good people!

My case goes this way, I submitted my application for a Canadian student visa via an online route on May 12, 2019. I did my biometrics on May 14, 2019. On June 25, I received a rejection letter from them. I was devastated and depressed, but I just had to move on.

I later applied for GCM Notes to find out the real reason for their refusal. Their reason was not worth it because I have a sister who was willing to sponsor my education with an available fund of 16,000 Cad for a start and she is based in Canada with her family.

I have attached the reasons the gave for my refusal.

What is the best course of action? Has their been anyone who has appealed their visa refusal and was successful? If so, can you refer me to a good immigration lawyer that will appeal for me (I suppose it is an immigration lawyer that will do)?

Please, I need help o, gurus in the house.

Can you share your profile(academic background) and SOP? Including submitted documents showing the relationship between you and your sis. Did you include a consent letter from her?

Any reason you cant call UK home or have they denied you a stay once you’re done with school? Is it not true you’ve applied to schools in Estonia and Canada and failed to get in? Who’s deceiving who?

You mean the Estonia I rejected? I've got a first class honours in Software Engineering from a British University and I can't get denied admission anywhere. I even got Estonia and the rest before I completed my dissertation. You're a nuisance.

I shouldn't be responding to you.

Hello house. Am new here and I am so impressed What am seeing here. I was advised by a very close friend to search here for Canada travel information. I have really gone through hell in the past on how to do my masters in Canada. I have B.Engr in electrical engineering with some years professional experience. Married with a kid and would like to proceed for a masters degree in Canadian university. The issue is that I have CGPA of 2.41 which 2:2. Please I need step by step details of the application process and suggested schools that might accept me. Though, I have gone through the threads in part 1 and part 10. But I really don't want to make any mistake again. So I need every advice from everyone in this house. Thanks

Irrespective of your CGPA, some universities might admit you for an MSc prorgamme because you've got relevant work experience. The first step you should do is visit the websites below to search for Canadian institutes offering your desired course;

- https://www.hotcoursesabroad.com/india/training-degrees/canada/masters/electrical-engineering-courses/loc/32/slevel/57-3-3/cgory/g5-3/sin/ct/programs.html
- https://www.findamasters.com/masters-degrees/canada/electrical-engineering/?700jsdh000

The second step is to email the graduate department of your chosen University, detailing your profile, relevant qualifications and experience. The goal is to see if you meet the admission requirements for an MSc degree.

If you do not, you can apply for a Postgraduate diploma (PGD) in institutes or colleges ~ Duration is typically a year or 2. (Check SAIT and NAIT)

Let me know if you require further clarifications.

You don’t have the grammar or smarts to have a rational discuss either. You’re simply an over entitled rabble rouser who thinks the rest of the world owes you because you breath. I ran through your post history quickly... no surprise. A confused economic refugee who’s applied everywhere from Estonia to Canada to Australia to the US and rejected everywhere... serious countries are not interested in your “positive” contribution. I guess like me, they can smell hubris a mile away.

Lmfao I'm chilling in the UK bruv and I've never been rejected in any of the aforementioned countries. Unlike you, I can't waste my time digging into the post history of a nuisance.

To show maturity and concern for the rest of the good and genuine people of this thread, I wouldn't like to derail or go personal.

This is where I draw the curtain with you.

Bless!

More ad hominem to cover for your intellectual inadequacy. Stay home and fix your country. Folks like you, with your unbridled and unearned sense of entitlement and hubris are why Nigeria is what it is today. As long as it remains that way, I’ll be wishing you good luck from my deck chair here... far away from your culture of nauseating mediocrity.

You can't even answer my questions without spewing gibberish. Blowing unnecessary grammar doesn't mean you have sense. Keep being a nuisance

Peace -_-

Explain why you think you have a right to come in and contribute “positively” to American or Australian society. 80 Nigerians were just arrested for massive fraud yesterday... is that your idea of your “positive” contribution?

America was successful before you, it doesn’t need your contribution. You should channel that to your homeland which is desperately in need of help.

Why didn't you do the same? Instead you ran away to get married to a so-called "patriotic" American that should have advised you to come back and fix your country.

PRACTISE WHAT YOU PREACH!

Neither do you. As is typical, when you run out of excuses, you resort to ad hominem... and you wonder why no one wants you in the countries they built with their sweat and blood...

You mean our sweat and blood?

My wife is American several generations removed. I think she has a right to vote her conscience. If selfishness means protecting her country from economic refugees who don’t make it any better, so be it.

Look at the front page news today and weep.

Tightening the borders means making it hard for genuine and talented immigrants to come in and contribute positively to the society. Maybe the first step your patriotic wife would have taken was refusing to marry to an immigrant like you. She should have advised you to return back to your home country to fix things.

Shey you think say you wise? undecided

I don’t recall Australia being involved in the slave trade. Even if they were, Nigeria has been independent for almost 60 years, why do you think it is the responsibility of modern day Australians or Canadians to take you in? You have your country they have theirs.

Why should Canada implement anything to take Nigerians in? This is not about paying for the sins of anyone, it’s about fixing your own country. When even moderate Americans like my wife are starting to complain and request canceling birthright citizenship and tighter borders, you know there is trouble on the horizon.

Why did you run to America with your wife? Why didn't both of you stay back and fix Nigeria?

Your warped sense of entitlement is baffling. Just because you’re paying doesn’t mean they owe you an education. You can easily get that same education in your home country, I don’t think Australia would be any worse of because you didn’t pay fees to them.

Obinwanne Okeke also paid school fees in Australia.

So in essence, the good ones should suffer because of the bad eggs? The whites that carried out slave trade and contributed to this our present day crisis, why ain't they suffering the consequences? Our forefathers contributed their own quota in building the foundation they have today. Bruv, I don't even want to delve into history. The point is... one can implement a way for the good and genuine ones to have a chance.

E.g The SDS programme/initiative for Canada applicants from India. Why can't it be implemented in Nigeria too? We shouldn't pay for the sins of others!

With the way things are going, I won't be surprised if academic institutions start rejecting applications from Nigerian applicants. Canada just dey deny all man visa, US dey keep people on AP for 5 years... is it a crime to be Nigerian? Na we born ourselves?

As if it hasn't started sef. Try applying for admission in any Australian university, once you put your nationality as Nigerian, you can't proceed. You'd be asked to contact an agent. An agent that would charge 200k+ to proceed.. this is bullsh*t meehn.

Hello Everyone,

Bad news guyz, you need to know what you are doing before putting in a study permit application to Canada. Even at that, your sucess is not guaranteed.

https://studentimmigration.ca/who-gets-a-study-permit-for-canada/

Canada’s high rejection rate of international students is being driven by study permit refusals from a handful of countries, most of them in Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East.

Can someone recommend a school and course for a graduate with over 10 years of work experience to date in Insurance company? Someone suggested a professional course but i am not really sure. Also with low tuition. Thanks.

I'm sure you searched on Google like this..."List of Canadian schools and courses for a graduate with over 10 years of experience in an Insurance Company"

There are so many departments in an insurance company... e.g
Accounting, Actuary, Legal, Risk management, Sales and Marketing etc

The very least you would have done was to drop your profile which would include prior education and previous/or current role(s)

Learn how to ask questions undecided
