You should order your GCMS note. It's the only accurate way of providing a detailed record of an applicant's file. You'd get specific reasons as to why you were refused. Teeporshe: |

Vesment: Blema111: Indians usually apply via a newly launched programme called SDS (Student Direct Stream) They need to meet three rules: 1. The students are required to obtain 6 bands in each module in IELTS test to apply visa under SDS program. 2. The students are required to deposit entire tuition fee of the first year at the Canadian institution instead of semester fee. The institution either college or university should possess valid Designated Learning Institution (DLI) number. 3. The student should obtain GIC (Guaranteed Investment Certificate) of $10,000. It generally speeds up the processing time for them. Other nationals that are eligible include China, Philippines and Vietnam. Others that do not meet the aforementioned rules apply via Non-SDS. The average processing time for Non-SDS is usually lengthy. This SDS scheme will ensure they have good English skills, no stress of earning and paying first year fees (GIC) It generally brings better prepared students to Canada and eliminates the pool of low-skilled workers. If this kind of programme is introduced in Nigeria, not everyone can meet the strict rules. Now you see why some of their applications are processed faster 5 Likes 1 Share |

Lol bruv that wasn't your point, you're derailing. Your initial point wasn't regarding people that tender applications close to their resumption date. Ofc they would get rejected. Your point was that people that are still expecting a reply (like June/July applicants) with their resumption dates close are likely to be refused. The aforementioned sets of people are not the same. Don't give high BP to people that are currently waiting for an outcome o. IRCC never said ''don't apply after a certain period because we might have reached the quota''. Anyway whatever you say regarding quota are mere speculations. No two applications are the same. Fellow applicants, if you're still waiting for a decision, sight tight, as far as your heart is beating, there's hope. Frankrobbn1: |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by waynee2baba: 1:11am On Aug 21, 2019 |
"The rejection is a clear evidence that IRCC has reached a specific number of Temporary Resident applicants" - Not really, it's not factual, it's just a probability. Yes there might be a quota, but if your application is actually solid, I don't see why you should get denied. Unless they've reached the ''quota'' and your solid application has minor loopholes, they might be stricter and not overlook. Frankrobbn1: |

Your travel history doesn't really matter... but if you were well-travelled prior to your application, it might have made a tiny difference. It wasn't a major consideration in deciding your application. You're overqualified for a PGD programme and you didn't attempt to convince the V.O why such programme considering your qualifications, experience and certifications. The main reason you were denied was your vague study plan. BSc + Certifications -> PGD instead of MSc. rippyblogger: |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by waynee2baba: 11:41pm On Aug 20, 2019 |
TLDR?: OP has a BS.c degree (I assume he graduated with at least a decent GPA), experience and other several related qualifications. He's going to a college for a PGD (Post-graduate diploma) instead of an MSc. He didn't attempt to convince the V.O or explain why that route. Hence, that led to a vague study plan because he's overqualified and his intended diploma programme is just a means to escape to Canada. Part of OP's GCMS note: "Given family ties or economic motives to remain in Canada, the applicant's incentive to remain in Canada may outweigh their ties to their home country" - Economic motives (BS.c degree and other certifications) waynee2baba: 1 Like |

rippyblogger:***MY OPINION: Firstly, your SOP was very decent in terms of grammatical structure. However... - Your sentences were extremely long. You were dragging sentences. E.g "After completion of my study in Canada..." to "fast-paced tech ecosystem'. "The research I made..." to "...experience first-hand". You should know when to end sentences, some were unnecessarily long. - Unnecessary explanation of what Computer Networking entails. From "The ease and speed by which..." to ''...without the need to visit physical locations" : The V.O is quite busy and doesn't want to know what the aforementioned course's description is neither does he/she want to know what it means to you. It's like asking someone "Why do you want to eat rice" then the person says "Rice is unique because it can grow in wet environments that other crops cannot survive" - good to know but very unnecessary... what if I knew? (vague statement) - You told the V.O how you found out about Fanshawe, you didn't talk about what the college offers nor the programme. Instead you talked about how poorly structured the curriculum in your previous study was. The goal is to focus more on the present. - You were very confident of earning at least three times of what you earn now when you return back, upon completion of your programme. Essentially, you're doing it for the money not passion (not an offence). What if you return back and don't earn at least three times of what you earn now? Speculations like that should be avoided because you can't prove to the V.O that you'd earn 3x of that upon your return. Furthermore, so if you get 3x the offer in Canada, you're likely to stay back? - Your second to last paragraph... "In my spare time..." should have been in the first paragraph (After introducing yourself) In my opinion, that sentence was also unnecessary because no one really cares what you do in your spare time if doesn't really connect the dots of your motivate of going to Canada. Let's say you watch pornography in your spare time, why wouldn't you include it? - It's not wrong to watch pornography but it doesn't relate to your current situation. It's just like putting your experience as a chef when applying for a Software Engineer role at Apple. You playing football with friends on Saturdays doesn't relate to wanting to study Computer Networking. - You didn't tell the V.O why a BS.c holder with such wonderful networking qualifications is going for a PGD. (With your experience and qualifications, you should be going for an MSc to show career progression) You should have convinced the V.O why PGD... that's where the pros about your intended programme and Fanshawe College would have come in play, instead you said the only reason you applied was because of your 'personal research' based on basic(weak) reasons . You could have talked about the facilities or something catchy. The most basic structure for good SOP: - Introducing yourself - Why this programme (maybe areas of study) - What it would offer you (maybe co-op opportunity, technical skills) - Why Canada? [what you'd bring to Canada (your Nigerian university knowledge and experience because Canny is multi-cultural)] - Upon completion, what next? [talk about how your programme is profitable(is there a demand?)] - Establish strong home ties (talk about your sponsor ...let's say your dad. Let it cover why he's sponsoring you, no one cares what he does in your SOP, he's not an applicant.) - Conclusion (link the reason you're being sponsored to why your course is relevant and profitable and end it on a strong note) Talk about your other documents (preferably after you've said yours sincerely or thanked them for their consideration and anticipated cooperation) and put page numbers (Your V.O might fall in love ) *If you had a good BSc grade and you're going for PGD, explain the reason(s) after you talk about your intended programme. Normally, as a genuine student, you should go for MSc not PGD. I hope this helps. Let me know if you require more clarifications. 12 Likes 3 Shares |

You'd need at least a strong 2:1 to secure an MSc programme in most Canadian universities. I'd say go for PGD instead. Start by doing basic research yourself. Check on Google for Canadian universities offering your intended course, look for their requirements and you'd also see what their application process entails. When you're done, come back and ask more specific questions - No one would spoon feed you. posemeke: |
