Seriously dude if Cyber Security is your passion, go for it but if you just wana migrate to Canada and tender a straightforward application, consider an MBA.

You could check out:

an MSc in Financial Management at the University of Alberta - https://www.hotcoursesabroad.com/india/course/canada/master-of-financial-management/57027472/program.html

OR

same course at the University of Lethbridge - https://www.hotcoursesabroad.com/india/course/canada/master-of-science-management-finance/57031422/program.html

hectorswag:

Okay, so which masters program would you advise a graduate of Entrepreneurship to go for that'll guarantee higher chances of admission?

SOP - Statement of Purpose
It basically includes the candidate's personal interests, goals, academic progress and motivations for the chosen career path. It's optional but you'd actually need to submit one because of your career switch.

V.O - Visa Officer
Any individual that handles your student visa application.

Thanks for the info... I'm sorry I'm new to all of this so I don't know what you mean by SOP and V.O

I'm already doing research on a couple of Canadian Universities but still stuck on where to check for their fees and requirements. Please which ones will you consider the most affordable universities that can offer MSc in Computer Science? Can you suggest like 3 for me please that you would advise a Nigerian with low budget should attend? I can continue the rest of my research from there. Thank you!

Travel / Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by waynee2baba: 12:02am On Aug 19, 2019
Why do Australian Universities coerce you into using agents to tender an application? I think it's bullshit. These agents charge as much as 150k for no reason. What kind of fuckery is this?
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by waynee2baba: 6:55pm On Aug 18, 2019
Dude... to get admitted to an MSc programme in Cyber Security, you must have prior IT/Computer Science background or some sort of knowledge (Computer networking and basic programming). Your undergraduate course is more of finance and supply chain management. Although, since you took couple of web development courses, you might be able to get admitted at least. Some Universities might not admit you for Cyber Security, they'd rather have you do an MSc in Computer Science.

Assuming you get it, you'd have to write a strong SOP to convince the V.O. So do a little research on couple of Canadian Universities offering your course and send an email to their graduate department outlining your qualifications and background - the goal is to see if you meet the admission requirements. If you get a go ahead, you can now submit an official application. The next thing would obviously be to find a way to convince the V.O, but one step at a time.

Hello, I have a BSc in Entrepreneurship and Business Management but also want to go for masters degree in Cyber Security. Please note I did some professional courses in digital marketing and web development, so I have some interest in IT. Do you think an MSc in Cyber Security is feasible?

If you keep converting, you no go fit buy anything o
Justabama:
Finally am in the US, its a wonderful world here, I entered through New York and then Transited to Minneapolis from there, Please my best advice is that you should eat before taking off cos them no dey get better food for airplane ooo, keep your I-20 with you at all times, learn to say no to those airport guys asking you for money at every point, one of them even said I should give him dollars when I told him I don't have any Naira with me and also don't mind those making POE sound like one Post Visa Interview, its really very simple, I was asked how long I intend staying and where I was going to, they didn't even ask me to present my connecting flight ticket, the whole process was like 30secs and they just let me lose into the streets of New York straight, things are relatively easier than I imagined. Only thig now is that am still afraid to spend Dollars, I always think twice when I convert the prices to Its Naira Equivalent... 15usd for a plate of pasta that wont even make sense at the end of the day, #5400 just imagine..

The dude's SOP had noticeable blunders (use of 'is' instead of 'are', etc) and other grammatical errors like unnecessary use of capital letters coupled with minor mistakes of putting $ and CAD in one sentence. e.g ($10,000 CAD). His reason for choosing Canada over the US, UK etc were vague and weak. His reasons for switching from web design, printing etc to psychology wasn't even convincing. Man even included all his IT-related certificates as part of his personal documents for a course in Psychology. He said Psychology would improve his entrepreneurship skills.. HOWWWW? Dude's SOP showed his passion of going into Business, Computing and Psychology... all at once. OP should have just applied for a BSc in Computing-related areas considering his IT certifications. To cap it all, I think his SOP was the major reason he got denied. *MY OPINION*

I applied for Bachelor‭s program and I got denied but I’d really like to reapply.

Here are the reasons the VO gave for denial
I am refusing your application on the following grounds:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your family ties in Canada and in your country of residence.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status

I have attached my SOP that also consists of the documents I submitted.

PR wayy.. Chop Life Gang !
herrlicher:
It's been a while here. AP does not exclusively mean "refusal". I remember I was placed on AP after interview back in 2017 for an F1 visa. I asked the VO if he was refusing me. He said No but we have to do some background checks before moving on with adjudicating your visa. He pulled out his boss after the interview to verify some anomalies on his screen. He then gave me a special white slip with case number written on it. I got couple of questions by email and was told to respond with evidence. Eventually I got the visa after 2-3 months wait. AP has many categories and does not necessarily mean refusal. Life has changed since transiting from F1 to PR. Life is good!

From my experience till now, If review of eligibility has started, CIC normally denies within 1 week if they have to. If the application is in eligibility of review for 2-3 weeks, it is mostly positive.

4. United States Citizens
Stevenssen:

1. There are several schools that will offer you PGD or post graduate certificate related to Computer Science (depending on how high your 3rd class is too). Check Algonquin College, Lambton College, Conestoga College , Centennial College, Seneca College. If you are choosing a PGC, try to go for a 2 year program rather than a year program. Unfortunately, you cannot do an Msc with just a Bachelor's 3rd class in Canada.

2. If you can apply alone for the moment, it is better. That way you use your husband and kids as your home ties.

3. Courses related to Computer Science and your current job e.g. database development, I.T. Solutions, Web Development etc.

4. Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by USC but they can still join you later if you apply alone now.
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 15 by waynee2baba: 6:12pm On Aug 12, 2019
Look it's easier to pay for the charges than to look for someone coming from the US. Plus US is one big place, what if you don't find someone close to your Uncle's location? Seriously why is this even a question?

ur elder sister in canada is telling u dont come to canada...wat are u asking us again? Who knows both u and canada better than her?

U are earning 500k in a sure job....wat do u think abroad is? A place where bad thing never happen? Where no one can die by mistake? Where money is picked on the road? Bruh

Let me ask u. Lets say dangote ran away to u.k like his mates were doing in the 70s instead of joining the hustle in lagos...do u think he would be better off now?

We all need to change how we view the world. Its not easy anywhere. Nigeria may not be great but many nigerians who traveled abroad became stranded and had to come back with nothing

Now I see why you're so bitter and negative. How did we miss this cheesy

I told you that you were silly and seem quite frustrated. You've not said what you do in your 'abroad' that's causing this your bitter attitude and frustration towards discouraging people unnecessarily. Return to Nigeria if you want to, nobody will judge you for being a Lorry driver in Dubai.
Bede2u:
i think my mistake was not realising the level of desperation of people here to leave nigeria.
I know many succesful nigerians who left abroad and came back to nigeria and made it.

2. Davido
3. Bank w
4 dangote
5 adenuga
6. Tboss
And a million more nigerian celebs and biz men.
My intention is to put something together in nigeria and come back asap. If u are doing well in nigeria, u can travel the world as u please.
I repeat my advice to that person...nobody knows u and canada better than ur sis...listen to her
