Cooking is not just a skill, it is an art.
It takes intelligence to put a good tasting meal together. To build a distinct flavour.
It takes a special intelligence to whip up a new recipe. (You'd have to understand ingredients and how to bring out the best in them.)
I could give you some ingredients, and you wouldn't know jack about them, not to talk of what to do with them.
It takes exploring and experimenting.

Everybody can eat, but not everyone can cook a good meal.

A good cook may be intelligent, but you can't use cooking to determine one's level of intelligence.

Cooking is a skill, and a skill is an art; like you stated. It is about experimenting and trying out something new (same way people try out sex styles). It doesn't require any intense or special form of reasoning to achieve results.

This is why you can teach people how to cook, but very few will master the art; including those with low intelligence quotient. Does that mean the naturally intelligent people who didn't learn how to cook are actually dull?

No, it means that the art of cooking doesn't intrigue them because cooking doesn't add to their IQ.
