CultureRe: Are Igbos Taking Over Lagos? by wendymanda: 6:45am On Jan 02, 2008
You are the biggest racist ever, you truly need help, you probably have a lot of unresolved issues, you even look like one of those people cleaning toilets abroad . By the way, if Igbos are so special, why are your states so incredibly underdeveloped and backward, at least Lagos is changing a bit but ABA or ONITSHA is still ghetto but don't worry sha, when our state gov. starts charging you guys businesses high property taxes, then you would start crying like little babies
@davidf
Major hypocrisy. How can you call someone are racist and then do worst? Tha's so lame and I almost thought you had sense.

PoliticsRe: How Nigerians Are Abused In China. by wendymanda: 11:11pm On Jan 01, 2008
I keep getting mixed messages, in one instance very few people say China is good however, in many other instances I have heard that Asians hate blacks. A Jamaican dancer said that in the early 90s when she went to perform in China that called her a black devil and were very racist to her. I've never been to China but I highly doubt that the reason Nigerians are being treated like dirt in China is not because the Chinese view blacks as inferior.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Am I Greatly Bothered By Certain Forms Of Criticism? by wendymanda: 6:14am On Jan 01, 2008
It would be more ideal if people in general removed the chaff from their eyes, before attempting to remove the splint in the eyes of others.
This is the exact thing am saying, you have to start making changes within yourself before you try to convince others to make changes. Thus it is hypocritical
to remove the splint in the eyes of others
before removing the chaff from your eyes.

IslamRe: Islamic Veil by wendymanda: 3:23am On Jan 01, 2008
I don't think the Burqua is religious but am not muslim so I am not sure. However, the reason I don't think the Burqua is exactly religious is because even some Jewish people cover up or used to cover up like that. Burqua was probably used to prevent sand from the getting into the eyes, ears and nose of the people since they lived in the desert during sand storms.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Am I Greatly Bothered By Certain Forms Of Criticism? by wendymanda: 2:24am On Jan 01, 2008
Tell that to those who report celebs in tabloids. Ask many of them if they live their lives any differently.

Besides, just the other day I overheard a co-worker telling her daughter not to smoke, even though she (the mom) is a heavy smoker. Are you insinuating she shouldn't, because she doesn't practice what she's preaching?
Am not saying people don't try to criticize and change people on things they are not better at. What am saying is that it's hypocritical, how can the mother be shocked that her daughter is smoking. Am not insinuating that the mother should not dissuade her daughter from smoking but it's quite stupid to expect her daughter to stop but for the mother not to. Are you insinuating that the Nigerian government should try to stop Nigerian scammers and continuously steal from the Nigerian people?

Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Am I Greatly Bothered By Certain Forms Of Criticism? by wendymanda: 1:37am On Jan 01, 2008
@ Kobe it's just stark hypocrisy not to practcie what you preach. Have you ever heard the saying action speaks louder than words, what's the use of going around telling someone how to live their life when your's is in the same mess. If the Nigerian government is going around telling people that we should cut down on corruption when they're the ring leaders of it, wouldn't that be arrant nonsense? While criticism is apart of life it's extremely necessary for the criticizer to fashion his/her live so as not to criticize people for things the former does. I tell my almost alcoholic friends about the ill effects of drinking and I would never drink because I preach to others not to do it.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Why Am I Greatly Bothered By Certain Forms Of Criticism? by wendymanda: 1:16am On Jan 01, 2008
<<snip>>.
I know it is very irritating when people tell others not to be bothered my criticism when only very few of us can actually practice such preachings but you have to realize that people can never be fully satisfied. There was a story of man and his grandson who were going to the market with a donkey ( a Jamaican story). At first the loaded the donkey with goods and walked, someone came and said poor boy he should be riding on the donkey, so the oldman put his grandson on the donkey. Another came and said what a disgrace the child is riding when the old man is walking so the old man mounted the donkey with the boy. Another said oh my gosh that poor donkey are you trying to kill you people should be carrying it. So the old man and his grand son got off the donkey and the grandson carried the loads while the oldman carried the donkey, they came on a river and fell, fast forward to the end. The point of the story is that not all criticism is to be considered. Its kind of sad that your depressed and not fulfilled. I think Nairaland is a great achievement and am happy to see the viewpoints of other Nigerians.
I hope your health gets, it is malaria? Anyways Happy New Year

Nairaland GeneralRe: Lol,lmao, lfmao by wendymanda: 12:22am On Jan 01, 2008
It becomes relevant when you remember that there are different forms of expressing amusement. There are many ways to laugh. these include -

-Giggling
-Sniggering/Snickering
-Guffawing
-Chuckling
-Tittering
-Cackling
Etc.
Well if you Laugh out, it is impossible to laugh out giggle, snicker, chuckle or anything else besides loud. It's like saying reverse back or ATM Machine, there it's rather redundant wouldn't you say?
RomanceRe: Loving Someone And Screwing Someone Else by wendymanda: 10:14pm On Dec 30, 2007
If my understanding based on other people's explanation of love is correct then there is no way for you to risk the life of someone you "love" like that by screwing around. It's impossible to truely love someone and do anything that will hurt them. I heard a story that I consider true love, a man was walking with his pregnant girlfriend when someone started firing shots at them so he jumped on top of her to protect her. He was killed but no one can question whether or not it was love. If you are screwing around and claiming love I bet you will never risk your life to save hers. Actions speaks louder than words, so don't go around like an empty barrel echoeing love so the sound waves can bounce off an make you seem deeper than you acutally are. Even if you use protection there are other diseases that condoms can't protect and the sad thing is that women are symptomic while men are asymptomic so even if you get genital warts (human papilloma virus) it is dormant in you and then you will transfer it to the one you "love" and then she will become infertile and we know how Africans are understanding towards women that can't reproduce.

EducationRe: Boy Wins Jackpot, Leaves School. What Would You Do? by wendymanda: 9:04pm On Dec 30, 2007
I don't think it's necessarily synonymous with young people it's more a thing of parents and environment. If the parents are well educated then that will never happen however if education is not a strong concept in the family then the child will not hold it important. This kind of behavior has occured with a man that the doctors told he had a month to live so he went out and splurged and later learned that it was the wrong diagnosis so he sued. He had accumulated so much debt because he thought he was going to die.
