What you don't understand is some don't really have asset in Nigeria. You're not in thier shoe. Business is collapsing, companies are laying off staff. Even if you find one person earning
big, you see alot of mouth depending on the person to feed and clothe. Someone earning 300k might be feeding a family of 4. Do the maths, averagely, his share isn't upto 100k. Such person is poor. But, works in a top organisation and drives a big car. Achievement sometimes is different from asset. You could own a house or a car and yet not making enough money to live comfortably and train your kids. You need to earn above 500k monthly to afford a good rent and train kids in this country. Abroad, if you work hard, you could offset your financial struggles, but in Nigeria, the harder you work, the poorer you become. While lazy ppl loot, steal and get richer.
This your statement just summed all the reason why one should japa. I own a car and 3 houses before I lost my job but now I can't pay my bills. I have 2 Degrees but to finish an MSc now is a big problem because of financial issues. I think with this your assertion, I have made up my mind to sell my properties and japa. It's better to be a slave in another man's country than to be useless in your own country.

I just watched a clip that inspired this post.

Imagine this scenario.......

You are married to a beautiful woman, and you have like three kids. It is a beautiful family, really.

You have a nice house, a good ride, beautiful children, always selfie-ready wife, and salary alerts keep coming. Then life happens, and you start losing things until nothing is left. No salary, no more savings, and you're officially wiped out by poverty.

Your wife has something she does for a living, makes her own money, and does whatever it is that women do with money. You never cared because you were doing okay, but now the tides have turned.

Naturally, you expect her to provide support while you work harder to regain your footing. But what you are getting from her is something you never knew she was capable of: insults upon insults, disrespect, and all. This lasts for a year or two.

Then, fortune smiles on you again and you get back on your feet. As usual, there is money now, and your wife is the woman you married at first. She is loving again, respectful, and caring.

I want to know, will you still go back to loving her like before, as if the past two years' experience never happened, or are you going to quit?
. This is what am currently going through in my home. I pray that God Almighty should open other doors for me. I put my hope in God.

Nigeria can never develop because his people and citizens are literate they do not even understand what development is. Let me explain something to you anything you do in another country belongs to that country where is Nigeria involved in this story 99% of the infrastructure and achievement is from Canada. This is why Nigeria cannot move forward because if people are illiterate they believe Nigerians abroad are part of Nigeria but the truth about it is anything you do abroad belongs to that country.. like this man 99% of the achievements we go to Canada the 1% which Nigerians get we start making noise like hungry dogs. Nation of illiterate.
We have a fundamental problem in Nigeria. A Nigerian is given an equal chance in a foreign land but in our own country, your state of origin will deny you an equal opportunity with the indegenes. That was how over 200 non indegenes were sacked by the Katsina State Government under the leadership of Aminu Bello Masari for being non indegenes after working for several years with the state govt, employed under PDP govt. Both teachers, Doctors, Pharmacist and nurses and other professionals working in the state COE and other agencies were laid off just because they are not indegenes of the state. It's pathetic. Nigeria cannot move forward in this kind of situation. I don't blame people that are calling for secession. Am Yoruba but I think APC govt. brought to power by Tinubu has totally failed us. The future seems brighter with an Obi in power.

AnonPoet:
See me see trouble o! I made a huge amount of money in December 2021, so in January 2022
i thought of saving the money in a place that will give me interest by December 2022. I planned to use the interest to flex or maybe even go on vacation sef. Someone recommended a platform (I will not mention their name yet) to me on this app that I should lock my money there, that I will get high interest that I can use to run some other stuff when I collect my money. What this person didn't tell me was that once I lock the money I won't be able to access it on a “due date”.

Fast forward to last week, my laptop crashed and I needed to get a replacement. I didn’t have enough money in my bank so I just thought to break my savings at least na my money and i really needed the laptop to continue my job. That was how I was told I cannot remove the money until when the thing unlocks itself. I WAN RUN MAD!!
Guys i want to know the next step to take, please o, i really need to remove my money to buy this laptop. I know I made a mistake by not reading Terms and Conditions, but I just felt like saving money should be flexible and stress-free.

Is this how all savings platforms are? Can’t a man just save money and get it back once they need it.

Which other savings apps with good interest and zero stress can I use in the future?
1. FairSave by FairMoney
2. Cowrywise
3. Bank
Which of these three is recommended abeg?
Use Opay. You can withdraw at any time on the app.

Business / Re: How Do I Recover My Money From Union Bank? by whysquare4real(m): 10:58pm On Apr 25, 2022
xcelpro:
Good day Nairaland.
Please how do I recover my money from Union Bank?
On 19th April 2022, I went to use their ATM at about 8:10 a.m and I was debited N20k without cash dispense because the machine went off while counting the money due to power failure from the bank's generator house.
After 24hrs I went to their branch to lay a compliant and they acknowledged the dispense error and started that it will be reversed after 24hrs which did not happen.
I called their customer care line 2 days later and one of their agent told me that it will be reversed after 24hrs and that she has sent It for manual reversal.
Despite this I didn't get the reversal.

I again went to the bank last week Friday, 23rd April and the customer service apologized that it must be reversed that day which did not still happen.
I chatted them up on Twitter, and they claim that it has been reversed, and after proving that nothing has been reversed they stopped responding to my messages on Twitter.
I sent them a mail and they didn't respond till yesterday, where they stated that the issue will be resolve within 48 hours.
Nothing has happened yet.
I tried calling their their customer service now and I noticed that I can no longer reach them with my two lines, probably they blocked my line.

P.s; I am fully aware that they have breached their obligation in respect to banker-customer relationship and that I would be entitled to damages if I sue them for this.
But the truth is, instituting a legal action now would be too expensive for me coupled with the litigation process.

Please what do you suggest I do apart from litigation?
report them via 'fidbark' on Facebook or twitter. Am sure the platform will help you retrieve your money.

Nope...Requirements are different.

If it's a 2.1....You don't have it means you don't have it. Its only equivalence in the academic domain is a PGD attached.

An MSc is a higher degree to a 2.1.

You can....depending on the Department.
....and CGPA. Some schools accept CGPA of 2.75 and above for direct MSc and if below, one has to go for PGD. Eg BUK, Kano.

NONSENSE! With all the education he has acquired, what has he achieved? Most Nigerians are just educated, they're not smart, including our professors.. It's a shame that less-educated people have done more for Nigeria than the so called educated ones..

Instead of our so called education to create human assets, it keeps churning out liabilities! Every year, more lazy, visionless and disgusting graduates are created by our useless universities to only depend on the government.. No skills, no talent, NOTHING OF VALUE! All they are taught is how to identify a screw driver and not how to make use of it.. Cram your lecturers note, sort some and you will be "educationalised" with an enviable certificate. But beyond that, it's nothing..

Too bad.. If our educational system continues to dish out liabilities, then its budget should stop. It will be more beneficial to channel its budget into the agricultural sector than increasing it. Cos Agriculture is far more helpful than education in this country.

Trust me, Nigerians will acquire better education and wisdom chatting with an American on Whatsapp than the nonsense they acquire from the Nigerian universities.. And no, it has nothing to do with the government.. But the corrupt and backward codes imprinted on the average Nigerian DNA..

May God help Nigeria.
Honestly I don't know what Nigerians actually wants a University education to be. Most people are quick to say our educational system is not adequate but I disagree with this statement. I happens to assist a younger friend who was studying in US with some of his school work. Its an online programme and I don't see any thing difficult or better than what is been taught in Nigerian Universities. You even answer the questions by going online and pasting online resources on the page. There is no single way to answer questions and u can almost never fail. Although you have to read bulky resources and have to be familiar with how the US policies and agencies works. He is studying an environmental related course over there but has a degree in Financial related course in Naija. So I don't think our University system is actually or really faulty. My view though.
