No, you can't anymore. I confirmed from them yesterday after several failed attempts. They said it was due to recent changes in their policy, so they stopped accepting card deposits from Nigeria but still possible to withdraw amounts already deposited through them. I berated them for informing me(us) and they apologized.
I was informed I can use wire transfer. I tried sending just $500 today via Gtb and was charged as follows: Offshore-$25, telex-6000naira, commission and vat- $10.50. All charges can be deducted from Naira ac.
The charges is too high for me so I cancelled it.
I will do it when I am ready to send at least $5000.
I remember paying about 29,500naira to send $6000 in dec, 2020 via Gtb to China
Trading212 informed I can pay using Revolut but said I need to dig if it is available to Nigerians. I am yet to do that. Anybody able to confirm should pls share the info.

Just felt like dropping some very hard truths about life in general. We may not like or agree with them, but that's just the way it is.

These are Governor's who can Il influence the election not senator . Don't underestimate Governor's guy. Umahi, Cross river, Hope and co will be gunning for Ministerial position, so they already have a bargaining power to deliver Their state either by crook or anyhow.(30% is enough).

He doesnt have any political structure even in his own state. He lost his own polling unit to Buhari, that says alot about his meagre popularity.

Tinubu has more political structure in north than Atiku.

Pls don't go and beg her now rather you will regret it in the near time cos the issues will be compounded more. I suggest calm yourself off this current& temporary storm, pray fervently to God and map out strategies to get yourself something doing (I.e. another job, business and or any legit hussle). Surely she will be the one that will come and beg you. By then you will place the rules of the game which you want her to adhere to.

Above all brother, never allow this temporary situation pull you down not allow it to debase you.

Regarding milk, trust me... If Nestlé wanted to start production here, they'd have done that long ago.... Already, one of the milk companies are doing it.... They buy directly from local farmers at rates much cheaper than international price... In turn, they give the farmers cheaper input and teach them how to milk the cows properly... The farmers no longer have to roam their cattle and make much more than if they sold the milk as fura locally.... Although it was on a small scale, the outcome was promising...

That we have a huge population is our leverage on these companies... If the cost of running their company and selling milk to Nigerians is not too high for them, then the cost of producing such here shouldn't be too high either. Or is their plan to perpetually import from Netherlands?
If not for such policy, by now MTN would still have been importing recharge cards and ShopRite (b4 leaving) would have been importing banana..

The issue is that all our policies resolve around banning this or that without thinking things thru... Most western nations achieve all these by just tweaking with taxation here nd there... Take ulez fees in some major cities for example.

The last macroeconomic policy of the CBN that made sense was them mandating banks to borrow out money by tweaking with the CRR... End result was that banks rapidly dropped their rates and started looking for eligible folks to borrow money... Pity it's not been built on..

When I look at folks/companies CBN says its trying to protect by giving them cheaper forex, it's even more annoying...
Take 2 examples...
Take nestle and the rest... These companies have operated for decades in Nigeria... But then, they'd rather go to their parent nations to import milk and sell here when it'd be cheaper to produce that here.. What does CBN do? Give them access to forex so they can maintain profitability of farmers in Netherlands....
A sensible approach would be to let them dource forex at market rates, double tax whatever milk import they make and in turn, give tax holidays and grants to whatever company that decides to build local infrastructure...

I know some people are happy that the dollar keeps appreciating against the naira.

If the dollar keep appreciating that means the cost of goods and services will increase, which will make life more difficult for you.

If you like keep buying dollar and saving it in dollars or usdt, as long as exchange rates are not stable, you are losing and also losing even when you convert your saved dollar back to naira, inflation will devalued it.
