Piercy: I grew up in a home where boys and girls did their dishes, cooked, swept, did the cleaning of the house irrespective of gender all examples my father himself sets. seven kids in the home, both mom and dad did everything and every chores to raise each properly, so the fact the husband refuses to fund his daughters education for such is stupid to me, I know it's wrong but punish her with something else not her education. I can imagine the dirty slap my dad will give you for not washing your plates or help in the kitchen because you saw three girls relaxing when they deserved it lol your brain will remember gender equality for the house. I hope to raise my kids this way, a woman is not a slave nor a servant, fact is put her in that position to get money for the family and she will do it, so why can't you help when you can, take sometime cook for her, do the dishes, bath the kids, I am a guy I already know alot about raising a kid seeing my dad do same for me and the others.
this is not feminism it's the real truth, a woman is your partner, your second half not some equipment to achieve your aim. Did you read the op's post at all, or you could not comprehend the post? |

paraltero: You guys' responses are exactly why so many Nigerian kids are not as close to their parents as the should be. You guys are so consumed by your god complexes that you don't realize that your behaviour gradually alienates your kids and makes them even less likely to ask you for stuff.
Be truthful to yourselves: most of you would rather ask your friends and colleagues for stuff before you ask your parents. How is that a healthy parent-child relationship? You guys have no idea what the difference is between a healthy relationship between parent(s) and child and disrespect.
Later it's the same you guys that would be asking your kids "why didn't you ask me? Why did you ask other people and not me?"
Continue perpetuating the same unhealthy dynamic with your own kids o. I hope it pans out well for y'all. Like seriously, how old are you? Do you have a family/parent or you grew up in an Orphanage home? I am truly amazed and ashamed of your thought pattern. I won't reply to mentions anymore. I |

LilMissFavvy: The spoilt brat needs to be disciplined thoroughly, feminism does not encourage women to be disrespectful to their husbands, that is why some feminist are happily married. Because the mother is against the man stopping payment of fees does not mean the child copied bad attitude from her mother. You should know how some mothers are, she is more worried how the daughter will cope without money, and is less worried about the need to discipline their daughter. If the mother had done a proper job on her daughter, the daughter would not be rude and spoilt to bite and be arrogant to the finger that is feeding her. This is even common sense, you should be loyal and grateful to your benefactors, so long your pride and dignity are intact. |

paraltero: How is asking someone to dishes a sign of disrespect?
@bolded, exactly! So how do you know the girl is at fault if you admit the story is not complete? How do you ask someone older than you, to do his/her dishes? This is simple home training 101. I want to believe that you are not Nigerian or not cultured as a Nigerian. Below is a simple and basic character of a well-groomed Nigerian child. When you wake up in the morning, you greet your parents/elders. I hope you do this/have done this . After eating your meal, you have to appreciate your parent/elders. (it is their responsibility) But the lesson here is, APPRECIATION Whenever you receive gifts, APPRECIATE! Say the magic words Thank you. Make your bed, when you wake up. Wash the dishes if there are any. Male children may be lacking here if they have elder sisters; there is an exception to this. So if you really have the above traits. How and why should you ask your father to wash his dishes after eating? Let us not discuss who owns the house and pays the rent. |
Family › Re: Man Stops Paying Daughter's School Fee After She Told Him To Wash Plates by willy2000(m): 11:14am On Jun 17, 2019 |
paraltero: That shows the kind of relationship you have with your father. It's fine for you but you shouldn't expect everyone else to share the same.
I mean, all these years, she clearly hasn't done anything that would warrant him stopping her fees but she asks him to wash his dishes ONE TIME and suddenly, she's a spoilt girl.
And I certainly hope you're not the type of parent that would stop paying your kids fees because they ask you to do the dishes i.e, the kind of parent that's willing to ruin their child's life just to massage their bruised ego. If you see nothing wrong in what she did, then am I am really sorry for the kind of parent you are/will be. Do you even know what RESPECT is, it is either you are not Nigerian, or you have no Nigerian root. And the post did not say or reveal much on why the father took such a decision. There is more to it, maybe the washing of dishes was the last straw that broke the camels back. What do I know? |

Daeylar: Poor girl has really suffered. Small washing plate will make him to stop paying school fees? Such a little thing and he is taking such drastic actions. Was it really that deep? probably thinks she won't survive without him so feels he can do anyhow he pleases to her over little issues. That's why such a little thing warrants him to stop paying her school fees. I'm glad she has her mum supporting her. I hope she does away with such a Draconian "father" the way he has done away with her and finds her way without him.. Topics like this come up yet people keep wondering nonstop why it seems mothers are celebrated more than fathers.
Ps Can't believe people are supporting and making excuses for his actions , using feminism and "teaching her good manners" as an excuse and as their scapegoat.
Edit. To everyone quoting me crying about this comment. Tbh I think you guys are right. What he did is even small. He should even have disowned her to teach her a lesson. After all. There is no such thing as a too harsh punishment.
Smh Are you trying to be sarcastic or what? So you mean you will ask your father to do his dishes after he is done eating. Oma se oh! all these indomie children sef, neva cease to amaze me. |

Chiefochiefo: But I don't really like this idea of marrying from another country, especially oyibo. I see it as a lost marriage. You die, your children gone forever. All u laboured for is lost. Tell her you're relocating to your country, that ends the marriage. If she too like you na to share children, God help you, you born more than one, if not, SORRY na your name. My advice is...... Don't marry her. Get whatever you can get from her and let her go. Good women plenty for Nigeria. Do you know that you just typed some RACIST shit........ This is 2019 and not 1819 or 1920. |

realborn: Great gesture by your fiancée.
But hey, do not rush into marriage with anyone. Not anyone.
In similitude, do not rush into intimacy with her.
It is obvious she intends to foot the bills. Stay modest through her stay. Do not be perturbed.
Always remember, the paying party often dictates the tune. Thus don’t be excessive and seemingly vulnerable.
I wish you both the very best. Forget the bolded, If you don't do that on the first date, it is seen as an offense. Besides he said they have been dating for over a year, do you know if they already had online sex And you are here preaching do not rush into intimacy. |

That's an example of usage. Sad to be you You actually don't have to hit below the belt, if you know. Humility is an excellent attribute, which unfortunately you've failed to acquire. First, learn how to spell properly. it is continuous not continous Let me school you. Your example is not present continuous(indicative) but present (indicative). Present. mperornero: tell us more Before his arrival on the same street with Obadares' CAC Wosem, there was a vision(prophecy) by the prophet himself that a mighty wind was going to blow in the area, and it would deceive/affect Christians and non-Christians alike. This story was shared to us by our then landlord, who was also a member of Wosem church. Two years later Obadare died and Synagogue relocated to Segun Irefin Street, its present site. The church was formerly located at Agodo/Egbe, and it was synonymous with the white garment, because of the apparel the prophet wore. |

justt: People in Germany who have been contributing to the thread are much appreciated. However, what is worth doing at all, is worth doing well.
Answers to some questions seems so ambiguous/vague. I once lost the opportunity to have my PhD in Canada because a colleague also gave me a vague answer! The Institution was offering $18,000/annum and I asked him, as someone who was already there and should know better, if this amount will be enough to sustain me. He said it depends on me!!!
Of course I still needed to apply and compete with others but his response just put me off. Well, I later have to go to the same University but just for a part of my study and I found out this amount was well enough to sustain me. My monthly expenses was even below $700.
I don't know the problems with Nigerians. It seems we often don't wish others have the same privileges we are enjoying.
Legendguru has two options on which he's seeking "expert" opinions and he should be advised as such without any form of discouragement.
In his/her last question, he asked about menial jobs and the possibility of making some amount from this menial job. Are certificates that relevant to get menial jobs?
Thank you If you took the pain to read this thread, it was thoroughly discussed, with low jabs flying around, that you can not earn above €10k in a year working as a student. And @Legendguru was asking if it is possible to earn a million naira(€2500 * 400naira) a month doing menial jobs. As a student or a prospective Ph.D. student, you should be smart enough to do the math. |
Travel › Re: Nigerian Students In Germany..how Do You Survive?? by willy2000(m): 9:49am On Jun 05, 2019 |
Legendguru: business not salary job.
if one is working full time doing menial jobs in germany can the person earn such amount in a month. i mean upto a million.i mean full time without studying. what is estimate annual income one can raise Don't place the cart before the horse! Why do you want to migrate to Germany? work or study? If it is work, then you have to search for a job according to you skill sets and make you millions, if you want to study, then forget making millions and face your study. And there is no way menial jobs will fetch you millions while studying. If you want to come to Germany with a student visa so you can work full time, I will advise you not to attempt it. You will be caught, so please come and study, after which you search for a job and make your billions or you apply for a job seeking visa and start making your millions/billions from day one. |
