Marriage is for matured people remember age is not maturity rather just a number,if you rush into marriage without preparation you must surely rush out whether you're desprate or not.
I agree but being desperate about it is wrong, couples see signs of incompatibility right from courtship but ignore it. I know someone in this category, simply because they have been together for four years and she is wondering if she let's him go,she would have to start all over again. This is what being desperate causes, people are always mindful of their age when it comes to marriage

I agree with ur mindset OP...

If only all the ladies will think like that sha..Marriage is not the answer to the problem and never beg ur ex to take u back juz for the sake of what ur friends told u...

It is u will be the one to be with him and not them..

So many ladies who are desperate to settle down once they reached the peak time, but the divorce/ separations are more alarming these days..
Exactly, everyone just wants to be called a MRS and it becomes their big achievement
RomanceFuss People Make On Marriage by Windflower(op): 1:03pm On Sep 10, 2017
I have been seeing a lot of thread on marriage recently and the fuss people make about it.
Everyone expect that as soon as a lady graduates and starts earning, the next thing should be marriage.people start reminding her she isn't getting any younger, which might cause her to be desperate. I think its high time people stop this fuss about marriage and let nature take its course.
I and my boyfriend recently separated, there is one of my friend that treats marriage as a trophy, she has been on my neck to reconcile with him, meaning I should beg him to take me back. Her persistency that we make up is now beginning to irritate me,how do I make up with someone who am sure doesn't love or respect me for the sole reason that I get married soon. That's absurd. Asides her, some of my friends would ask if am with anybody and remind me that time is going.
To all the females here,is marriage the only thing a lady be all about,I know of someone who intentionally started taking pregnancy enhancing pills just because she didn't want to go home after graduation, she wanted to get married. I am just 23 years of age,I wish to be married some day with the right person, but still I want other things in life and sincerely marriage isn't on the agenda for now. I can't get married and start asking hubby to give me money to buy undies, that's not the life I dream. I want to be established,in my career and education.
We are all entitled to our opinion, mine is people should stop seeing marriage as a trophy and let nature happen.
Don't become desperate for marriage and cling onto any available guy, simply because you know an aunty who is above 40 and still not married. We are different, the path that works for you might not work for me.

Immediately, I collected my posting letter which was march. I don't know the basis by which I won't be paid February stipend, some volunteers were just posted June/July and they received their full stipend. If this is true, then the law of equality doesn't apply to this scheme.

I used a HP and noticed the above point,if it were me I would prefer dell with the following specification especially what you plan on using it for(processor frequency 2.6mghz,preferably 6 or 8gig ram, hard disc -1 terabyte) proccessor either core i3 or i5.
Its solely depends on your pocket, core i3 ranges from 149,000 above while core i5 starts from 190,000
If you can get a reliable source, you can also opt for London use. I could remember my brother priced a core i3(london use) for 100,000 last month.

You have your plans carefully laid out, even those that earn 100k don't have a solid plan for their future, nice one op.
Above all,Man proposes,God disposes. Always seek for his guidance and pray everything goes according to plan, even beyond your expectations.

Abeg,do u still have a brother with your kind of intelligence,I need someone of your character for a hubby,I wouldn't mind if you have one just like you o cry

RomanceRe: I Am Leaving Behind My Love, For Greener Pastures Abroad. by Windflower(f): 2:07pm On Sep 05, 2017
lomprico:
I have been in love before so I know how you feel.

But your brother may have a point. My very close cousin was in ur shoes one time, due to inability to find job his elder sis try sending him to Ukraine for MSc, he had a girl he has been dating for 8 yrs, when he told her of the travel plans she cried n cried that he was going to leave her after all they have been through, told tried convincing her that he wont do such, he even called her mum and told her he was ready to bring drinks to her family indicating he wants to marry her. She still did not believe him, this my guy sabotaged his visa runs so that he wont travel again cos he did not know how to tell his sis he's no more going (because of his girl). He confided in me on this, I almost broke bottle on his head. To cut the long story short he is still searching for a decent job as I type this and guess what his girl has left him last year because, in her words "I need a better provider" .
My cousin almost took his life when this happened.

So, Op am not saying all ladies are the same but use your head and not ur heart in this situation. When u make the money women in all shapes n sizes, the very good ones and very bad ones will flock around you but if u are broke.. well. undecided
That girl is an enemy of progress abeg, just because you are in love doesn't mean your reasoning should be clouded. If you truly love someone, then the persons happiness and success should come first no matter how it will hurt you.

tonyx4x44:
Hmmm this is quite confusing o embarassed I lift weights too.

Insecure about what exactly?

How?
If he was just tall that would be fine but he had this broad shoulder, more than six pack due to weight lifting.
So the insecurity comes in whenever we walk together,he seems like this giant and I am just an ant beside him. I am neither tall nor fat so his stature makes me feel uncomfortable. The solution to most relationship problem is extensive communication, I never talked to him about it,so if you can sit her down and ask why she is considering a breakup because of your height. Perhaps, if you can get those reasons then you can look for points to convince her. we see things from different perspective, she might not feel insecurity like I did,its might be another thing entirely. If the love is there, just make her see that reasons why you are compatible is far greater than the difference in height

RomanceRe: I Have 50000 Naira, Advise Me On What To Do With It. by Windflower(f): 9:24pm On Sep 01, 2017
* Go into ecommerce,a friend of mine started with just wristwatch and today she run an online store on jumia and konga.
* During my service year, a fellow youth corper would buy bread in bulk and distribute to families and small shops. He was making a decent profit
* Start making popcorn, then gradually you can mix it with ice cream, you can as well combine both if you have a freezer and a small space. If not you stick with the pop corn, the point is to make it unique by giving it packaging. You can also visit schools around and start distributing pop corn to them, visit churches on any special event. If possible find a space in a crowded place like a bustop or students environment.
If this goes well, you can increase the business by adding grilled fish, arrange few chairs and table where people can sit and relax.
You don't need a huge amount to start this, you can as well hook up with a shop owner preferable located in a bustop, negotiate to use the shop at night. I had someone who did this also.
*Also if you have a Freezer at home and stable electricity, you can start selling iceblock, its would only cost you nylon and water. My aunt does this and she is enjoying it.
These are little businesses that people don't know its fetches money @ least a decent income
You can make this your side business, most importantly endeavour to have multiple streams of income.

Loving relationship, 3 years in, tall boy, short girl.

Height difference in relationships can cause a lot of aesthetic problems, but I never expected this one.

In a recent heart to heart session, my girlfriend stated that she has had thoughts about breaking up with me because I am way taller/bigger than her.

Imagine fa, I was busy thing we look cute together, while she was there thinking the exact opposite.

Life sha.

My problem is ehn, how can I help her feel less disturbed about this? cry
Lol,I totally understand. I am also brief and once dated a guy in school,he was tall, caring, matured and understanding. We were like the perfect combination but I had to break up with him because asides from being tall he also lift weight, which was what discouraged me. I began feeling insecure,he even worked as a part time bouncer,so u can imagine and he wasn't ready to stop lifting weight coz he so much enjoys it. I didn't tell him the reason for breaking up,If you actually want her back, then try and help her get over the insecurity by making her feel comfortable whenever ure in a public place together.
RomanceRe: Am I Too Introverted? Please Help by Windflower(f): 9:43pm On Aug 27, 2017
Ginaz:
Well they said I should socialized, that was a disaster. There was a nice gentleman I met after my broke up with my first bf, he seems nice but he didn't understand me. There was a day he asked to see me, just hang around somewhere nice to have a chit chat. My God, the last minute I broke the promise... I felt nervous, felt my heart beating. That would be the first time since 4 years ago I would want to go out with someone.

I called it off, apologized to him which he took. He came to visit me instead but maybe I was too strict with the going out stuff and he was that type. He invited me on two occasions to visit him since he located. If I did, that meant he would be the first guy ever to get a visitation from me. (apart from my ex).

He won't understand, I felt he wanna suffocate me with his positive outbursts which was a good thing however he should have taken it slowly. I was depressed also, plus my introverted self made it very difficult for him so I won't blame him. I let go...he wasn't worth it. It still hurts cos I liked him a lot. ..(the price of being introverted and weird)

Exactly, my ex too didn't really understand me,I feel suffocated sometimes and the cure is just to be left alone for a while.

At the start of the topic I mentioned i had 4 people I share deep emotional talk with, well, let's make that 3.... I lost one. Out of the 3, I only talk with one face to face , two are via phone and I have only seen one.

Life most go on, I can't change myself. I don't go out of the house. ....24/7 I'm indoors worsened by the fact I no longer go to work. Oh, I went to visit my aunt this year! At least I went out.

What I do is try to go to the stadium every Saturdays, say hi's to few people.....smile...feel happy. I'm no longer depressed, if people decide to take me for what I am then it's OK, if they don't, it's OK too.

Life is too short. Please be happy, accept your personality, know it, exploit it, let it defined you instead of waiting for people's approvals. Don't seek a pat on your back cos you won't get it.

*****

I read novels,... have a talk with my dog( he hears sit, stand, sleep, come, back and are you crazy? grin) I look for his trouble a lot.... quarreling with mom helps too( I can't be having a mouth odour na, let the air out of the mouth sometimes ). I pray, read the Bible, sleep and eat( I do that with passion)

I have added a little weight (* no wonder the guys won't stop staring at my bum bum, could you imagined a J.S.S 3 kid be calling me on the street? shocked)

Lol,I can imagine because a five year old boy once tapped me on my bum bum

I'm happy. Be happy too. Live your life. cool

That's it exactly, I am me and I like me,I don't care about what people say about me. In my compound,I only greet them ,don't have any friends but people look at you, as if sure being proud

By the way, my cousin came to visit me early this month. We both introverts, we never stepped out of the house but what a blast we had......em music be playing, em novels be sliding....em food be vanishing...em farts be smelling ...it was a blast. grin grin grin
Its not that I can't socialise,my family knows am a talkative, even my friend's. Before I get comfortable talking to you, then it means I trust you. That's my issue,I can say the only guy have gone on a date with is my ex,not that guys don't ask me out but I feel Its pointless going because their intentions aren't pure.
I am not really into making friends online, asides from nairaland, the only social media I use is WhatsApp except for Facebook that I just read stories. A guy sent me a pm on nairaland last month, since am all about change I replied,he asked for my contact and I gave him. The first thing he asked was am I single, when I questioned him he said why did I give him my contact if I wasn't interested.since then I don't think I can reply any PMS.
I also distant myself to avoid having issues with people because I can't stand hypocrites.

I don't know the right section to post this but I really need to know cos I'm tired already so forgive me.

I'm in my early twenties, I'm the kind of girl that just love being alone with herself. I don't go clubbing, don't go to parties( except I don't have a choice and I'm being forced by my mother, marriage tinx)

I have few friends, just 4 I share deep emotional matters with. I'm always alone when at home, in fact I get excited about it.

I have never visited anyone this year, except on 2 occasions. Only 2 have visited me also, I close from work straight home and sleep, read novels or watch movie.

I like social stuff but too much of it kills me, makes me shy and tired. Now I'm at my aunt's house, I've been inside my room since Saturday, I only come out to do house chores. This is my personality but I feel people don't understand.

My aunt just had a talk with me right now that I keep myself from people, and it's getting me mad cos I didn't think it that way.

Nairalanders, please am I too introverted or what? Is there something I'm missing? Please.
Its really hurts especially when your own family doesn't understand you.I couldn't help but come back to read your post, because everything you have written is just like ure describing me. Today was the last straw,Its like I should just go somewhere else and be alone. Anyways, Is there any changes, did you take to the advice here

lol you are not lenient oo. Although Yoruba ladies for me is a no go area for me base on my experience with them. Infedility is there first name and there ladies can pretend and are usually pious but when it comes to intimacy flee!!!
Really,I hate to see this kinda comment, which is why I won't turn a blind eye. So because of your experience with Yoruba ladies, its means all of them are like that. An Igbo man married my aunt refused to provide for the family and still controls her ATM,as if that's not enough he brings home his concubine and introduced her as his sister to the extent that he stocked up her shop with my aunts hard earned money.I also met an Igbo man who took me through the most horrible experience of my life,my landlady during my service year was Igbo and she showed me pepper. Its really baffles me when I read this kind of statement, with all of my experiences I have never spoke bad of them,I still have Igbo friends that has been of help to me. Which tribe doesn't do money ritual or kidnapping, before we see ourselves as Igbo,Yoruba or Hausa let's remember we all are humans before that.
Don't generalise what few Yoruba's did to you and conclude that they are all like that, its very disgusting because you can't give 100% assurance that someone from your tribe couldn't have done that to you
