my dear I think at the most recent comment, he meant if he puts N100k in there(chellarams), at 5% gain, that wont be enough profit, hence very useless, but with someone like wacky waja carrying volume with N40mil, 5% is N200k
I went back and found that post and thats what I got from it.
Hmmm, I'll let Fof2 speak for himself first before I comment further. But I was beginning to notice comments (both the last one and some previous others) which to my mind appear condescending to long termers, and hence my post.

@Grabdaloot - at least you sold your Aglevent intentionally.
Me i was trying to do a short and long, so i maximise on the drop that happened second week of the year. I forgot to cancel my sell order, as there was an expiry on it,
Next thing i knew, I was querying my broker ZSL for not executing on all my orders - the following day, everything was executed on - including the Aglevent. I no fit talk,
Hmmm, make una dey siddon look. When I started mentioning AG Leventis, the price was like N3 or thereabout. Wetin una dey think? Like I said back then, volumes will show up at the right price on this one. I entered, exited at a handsome gain and re-entered at about N5. Na me go dey dictate price to all of una wey wan buy now grin grin. Infact, Fatherof2, I don close all windows, so no crashing in fit happen cheesy grin

1.4B ke? Meaning they had a PE of 5.5x? I don't think so. This must be the figure IBTC used to come up with that 5x PE for Crusader in December.

It was actually 7.4B that was outstanding before. Now it is 14.2B. Scary forward PE of 55x.
Ok o, let's wait for Easimoni to confirm  his figures by the mouth of 2 or 3 witnesses . . .  smiley

@Fatherof2, you know say you be my brother any day abi? And I respect your opinion very well on this forum as well as the other many varied opinions. But e get one thing when you dey do wey de vex me well well.

Your strategy is sound no doubt, and you're obviously successful at it. I, like you, trade very heavily too. But sometimes your comments seem condescending to people who choose to do long term investing. Not too sure what's going on between you and Wanaj0, but it's not too cool for you to come out and call a stock useless, especially after someone has recommended it. Haba, Fatherof2, this detracts from your very well respected views na, it's beneath you.

Anyway, me I don talk my own finish  smiley. Please keep your comments impersonal, it'll help to foster open-mindedness on the forum, which is what we really want.  Abi?

Altitude is still achievable, but highly unnexpected before Q3 results in March. So, you can short at the altitude and pick-up again for long at 28/29,
Some people might not even be bothered if they are holding insignificant No. of shares.

Anyone, with the Quarterly spreadsheet?
Q3 results will be out in May. PO shares willl be listed in March. Best time to recycle in will be March after PO shares are listed smiley.

@Kpineo

You still fully dey onboard PHB, aba na greed be that; you knew first turbulence was at N29 and N32 be max altitude for initial run. Anyway, the thing go take off again as Oga pilot Pumping mention - But when the time come, i go dey onboard this one. I no go look dey do analysis, from tower.
Hmmm, that flight still dey? huh Pumping777, you still dey fly am? Anyway, from my own perspective, the next thing that can make this stock move up will be the 9month result, which should be out sometime in May. But the thing is that before then, the PO shares will be listed (March 3, according to prospectus) and PO sellers will work their usual deal on the share price and create further buy opportunities for those of us that exited at 30 something  smiley. But then again, wonders may happen and things could very well turn out differently . . . So make  your decisions.

Not looked at the market closely so was not focussing on those little little stocks. You can however check Aluminium Extrusion. But if everyone on Nairaland placed an order, too bad!!! Today na only two deals of 4,750 units were done.

NCR don commot for ground so I no dey track that one again. I look for small companies whose products are in high demand or being turned around.

If you can get Thomas Wyatt also, na money be that!!!
You don come again o  cheesy cheesy. Aluminium Extrusion, forget! No volume! NCR, I tried getting about 2 or 3 months ago when I heard about the deal with UBA and some other big banks for the deployment of ATMs. No show. Not even 1 unit could my dear broker obtain. Thomas Wyatt? yeah right! Tried that also when I learned that they were restructuring and doing a rights issue. No show there either. Don't bother with Greif (vanleer), been there, no show  grin grin.

Anything on the insurance or bank side?
InvestmentRe: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by windywendy(f): 5:13pm On Jan 28, 2008
@Easimoni, For Transexpress, I have shares outstanding of 265,093,020 (and that includes the 1:1 proposed rights issue).

@Grabdaloot: thanks for the info on Eterna oil. Will be keeping an eye on those guys.

The rights was in the news since May last year. I begged My Peace to evn give me One unit then I will qualify for the rights and apply for more than my entitlement she no gree. She just want to chop alone.

They've not done the rights. My concern is the date of qualification for the right. Well, me don fashie My Peace and her company. God dey!!! tongue

Well, my strategy is so simple. I dedicate a percentage of my portfolio to such stocks and hold on till they peak.

Bought Chellarams @ N1.98 (only got about 70,000 units). Got a bonus of 1 for 1, Being getting 0.15 dividend. Now price is >14.00. Now for a 140k investment now worth over N1.5m in less than 3 years is good enough for me.

Same thing i do with BOC, started accumulating @ 2.50 last year. Waited for it to reach 14.00 and now want to tell them Thank you.

If you get the small volumes when they are small, and you hold it long enough there should be no wahala.

That's why I love good PP's. taht's the opportunity to get good shares at at cheap price and acquire large volumes.

Now, as I no be money BAG like you, the small volume is still good enough for me. I am not interseted in buying the whole company
Ah, you come yab me finish and you still no give me any recommendation abi? Anyway, God dey.

Your stock recommendations don dey vex me no be small. How you go dey constantly recommend stocks wey no get volume? Chellarams, Nigerian German, TRANEX, and nowBOC gases (which I tried in vain to get. Even 100k units, my broker no fit .  . .). Me no dey benefit from all these ones na. You get any other recommendations so? Abi you no wan make me too benefit from your vast knowledge?  cool

@Windywindy

They have not done the Rights of 1:1, but about to.  where u get info say them don do am?
Really?? Na for one newspaper I read this one o. They say a rights of 1:1 was approved in December during an AGM or something like that. So they were issuing additional shares of about 133m (effectively doubling the outstanding shares to about 266m) to existing holders. They may not have done it, but it sure looks like the shareholders have approved it.

By the way, when can we expect the next results? cheesy abi, we suppose benefit from your insider status na  cheesy cheesy

@all: it's very uncharacteristic of me to log in on a Friday evening, as I like ensuring that my weekends are as "internet-free" as possible. However, I need to retract a statement I made earlier today about Trans-nationwide express. I had the wrong numbers -- did not factor in the fact that they just recently did a 1 for 1 rights issue, which basically doubled the number of shares outstanding. On this basis, the company doesn't look so great from a valuation perspective sorry Mypeace but still has good market potential. Forward PE is almost 30 based on Q3 2007 result. So wait for more reasonable valuations before entry. Fortunately my broker wasn't able to get too many units today  smiley.

my sis wendy

he is well and as i told roughcut earlier we await the physical manifestation of the spiritual truth in jesus name.

i will surely give the testimony on nairaland, trust me.
It is well! Just a scripture to encourage you:

Isaiah 46:4 (New International Version)

Even to your old age and gray hairs
      I am he, I am he who will sustain you.
      I have made you and I will carry you;
      I will sustain you and I will rescue you.

According to the dictionary:

SUSTAIN means:
1. To keep in existence; maintain.
2. To supply with necessities or nourishment; provide for.
3. To support from below; keep from falling or sinking; prop.
4. To support the spirits, vitality, or resolution of; encourage.

And RESCUE means:
1. To set free, as from danger or imprisonment;
2. To save
