@ Wendy

Another good point.I remember in early Jan we talked about discussing with your brokers.Ask deep questions.

Then on FCMB. I remember in December when Diamond was N18. I saw posts like.
"  Diamond is good, but i'm not sure about this GDR thing. I'll wait".

" People what do you think of Diamond, how will this GDR affect it?."

I responded that GDR will affect nothin on Diamond. So we can see how far Diamond has gone now. If you bought at N18 in December while some were
worried about GDR, you would have at least been 28% richer two weeks ago and still be 22% richer now. . .
If my memory serves me right, I think I'm the one who liked Diamond but not the GDR thingy  smiley smiley. But you see o, I took my money and went for Vitafoam, STACO and Equity Assurance, all of which gave me far more than 28% in less time-frame  grin. The way I see it, in this market it's all about opportunity cost. The market itself is moving up fast, so it's a question of selecting stocks that will outperform. Abi, we have to take maximum advantage of all of these inefficiencies before the powers that be wake up na  cheesy

Hope some of us -- managed to buy UTC some two weeks ago. I know it was mentioned on this thread,  This one is another fire,  I hope we are many that on board this flight,   Hmm as usual,  am getting out of Deap next week,   1 for 2 Bonus nothwithstanding. Seriously if any nairalander is interested. let me know. I have yatchload of the  stocks,  This gain don pass armed robbers own. still counting,
I suggest you get out sooner than later. Those guys have applied to raise additional shares, and here's what I suspect might happen. If the share price keeps rising at the daily maximum, it should hit somewhere like 11.6 by the day before mark down. At mark down the share price would be around 7.6 (bonus of 1for2 plus 13k dividend). Rumor has it that they'll be offering at N6 which is like a 26% discount from mark down price, which is a healthy discount. So it might just pay them to go on suspension right before mark down -- probably the friday or monday before (remember afribank)? And then there'll be massive offers on the dance floor  grin. But then again, this is just my own analysis and things may very well turn out differently  smiley smiley

Wendy, for someone not on ground, how in the name of NSE do you get your info?
hahaha, i'm blushing . . .  cheesy. How do I get my info? I get network na. Research, plus I also chat with my brokers a lot and just generally pique the brains of peeps I think might have info  smiley. If all else fails, I call the company directly -- by the time I blow all that my big big grammar, they're usually quick to transfer me to someone that knows something . . .  grin works all the time grin grin

Abegi wats your take on ABC Transport?
Hmmm, ABC transport? Don't know too much about those guys o. But it's the same core investors that invested in cornerstone that own the majority share of ABC, so maybe it's one of those so-called 'twins factor' according to no_shaking  smiley. But it's a good company though, and they have some serious expansion going on, even in neighboring west african countries.

Here is the official Lasaco outstanding shares story: Once upon a time, time time, Lasaco had 1.411B shares. They came to the market (Oct 2006) and offered us 6.854B shares strictly out of the kindness of their hearts. But, only 5.992B shares were alloted representing 87% allotment Lasaco kept quiet for 15 months, letting the likes of Lead Capital the rumbling, bumbling brokers assume they only had 1.411B shares outstanding; Lead, in turn, advertises a PE btwn 5 and 7 and screams BUY BUY BUY! tongue But alas, the truth is out and Lasaco has come clean much to the chagrin of certain analysts (who need to be flogged for not being able to calcuate PE)

Where the story get k-leg be say na 5.992 B shares (87% allotment) them suppose list. How them take list the full 100%, I no sabi. Anyway, update your sheets to 8.265B shares unitl we see the audited report or prospectus (u know it's coming)

Forgive me for the story, been a slow day at work. tongue tongue tongue
Ok there we have it. It's official. Easimoni has spoken grin grin

Thank you jare, you too too much smiley

TrippleGee is planning a PO and will be releasing results soon -- I got this info from someone who works there. Chances are stock price will be moved up prior to this happening. I have no idea what timing the company is looking at though but they say it's this year.

Neimeth, not too much info here. But if today's results are anything to go by, it looks like it's a good company.

I don't know too much about the others.
I think I'll retract that my statement on Neimeth. Just did a quick check on the valuation and am not too impressed. Growth is not impressive (and I'm talking quarter on quarter growth) and forward P/E is like 75 based on a projected PAT of 127m.

Any shares issued are usually paid for, this particular gift was given by the state gov and I guessed fully paid for-nothing to worry about really.
Lasaco is likely to release a bumper result for many reasons; got their withheld fund-#4.2b in Nov, Q3 result very good-the highest in the industry, the mgt
seems dynamic-going into other business ventures. The coy seems like a company to closely watch and deal appropriately. With all these I will strongly recommend
a buy at the current price;very good prospect of growth-year end is dec
you mean the state gov bought the shares off the floor and gave it as a gift? I'm not sure I fully understand

WindyWendy,  Pumping etal, can you blow some wind or pump some information on the following stocks. Since I join this thread nobody has mentioned it, even its brother NCR has enjoyed the mention by Gurus.  That is TippleGee.  Why una no like this penny stock? Take a look at the price early 2007, you will be surprised.  And these ones too:

Neimeth
Ekocorp
R T Briscoe
Dunlop

@WindyWendy - You are probably right. I may be listing Lasaco's shares twice. I assumed the original PO and Rights shares have been listed.
Ok no problem. So assuming they're able to grow Q3 PAT by about 30% for year-end (and I'm thinking this is quite a conservative estimate), forward P/E is about 33 abi? Still prefer STACO but this isn't looking too bad considering the other valuations in the sector, plus these Lasaco guys have greater growth potential as they can benefit from both the local content policy and the mandatory health insurance thingy for government workers. My only problem with them is corporate governance. I recently read in the papers that they gave some hundreds of thousands of shares to a coach as a gift  shocked shocked. Who does that? huh shocked Did the shareholders approve? Anyway, I'll be keeping my eye on them, they're not looking too bad.
