I was the first guy who broke the news here in nairaland. Wonder why it never made front page?? |
Marotzke:You've started your usual propaganda. Ojiakor is not the largest shareholder, Avuru is. Ojiakor is just the chairman and co-founder of the company |
iamfrankoben:Can you type any other thing reasonable without resorting to enthic sentiments? |
exstreve:please my dear pay no attention to that ignorant lady. They don't represent the view of the people in the eastern region. They are delusional and in urgent need of psychiatric evaluation. It's people like her and other e-tribalist on nairaland that gives the impression that the igbos are "Haters" and full of bile. please we are not, we appreciate and embrace everyone that do us no bad... |
Johnnyessence:That's what annoying after they'll start claiming Yorubas are hateful to southeast development. But look at how so idiots are derailing the thread making it look a tribal fight. Some people are perpetually made to be stupid for life.. |
proeast:I'm ashamed of you. It's folks like you that make people feel Igbo people are full of hate and envy. What is wrong with you? Why can't you let them enjoy their aerial views When we post aerial pictures of Onitsha, Owerri and Porthacourt, you all begin to type 'wonderful', 'amazing' and later start rebuking people from the southwest calling them 'brown roof'. Now they are showing you pictures of coming developments and planned areas, instead of appreciating, you are throwing tantrums and stupid remarks up and down ![]() |
Pentagon007:Guy stop acting the fool here. Judging from your comment everyone can tell you are from Onitsha.. |
scholes0:Please don't mind those people. I'm igbo too and I appreciate the growth witnessed in this locality. Not every igbo person here on nairaland is a hater.. |
nokatakata:All resources whether oil gas, gold, copper or limestone mined in either the north or south belongs to the federal republic of Nigeria which your people are a part of.. |
XANDERBOY85:that's why it becomes more startegic for us play our game politically so that when we assume leadership position, we can start bringing vital and long impactful projects in our region the way the North has used the vantage point to their advantage. If you are hoping to achieve Biafra, you'll wait eternity. that's the honest truth, make your peace with that.. |
nokatakata:you need to rethink the way you reason. it causing you to have mental degradation. who goes about bombing oil installations that are an economic assets to the nations. This was the major reason Dangote sited his refinery in Lagos and he's gonna build a sub-sea pipeline from the Niger-Delta to his Industrial area. At least he made sure folks like you can't go 30feets deep into waters to blow off his pipeline. |
gawu1:They have huge gas reserves from the imo basin to the Anambra basin. even shell operates a OML in Jisike field... |
selemempe:nothing is helping the Biafra cause. Stop living in an illusion. You keep making the igbo nation appear stupid with your unguarded statement |
pquaver:please pay them no attention. I'm from the southeast but anytime i log in to nairaland and see a people displaying nonsense enthic sentiments i get pissed off. Always having this "Marginalization complex" is becoming sickening to me. The eastern region is replete with gas resources an projects that can fuel her industries... |
My fellow southerners especially those within the eastern region, the development of the AKK gas pipeline should be seen as a welcome development to help in industrializing northern Nigeria and to some greater extent the Nigerian economy. Not everything should be view with ethnic sentiments and Myopia. To start with, the AKK project was the original idea of the GEJ's administration along with the OB3 project. This was the part of the Nigeria Gas Masterplan. GEJ was able to secure funding for the OB3 project through raising international bonds to begin the project. Plans were underway to secure funding for the AKK project but electioneering kicked in coupled with a fall in oil price. PMB is only taking off from where GEJ left off. Just as he continuing with the plans of his precedessor pertaining to the Second Nigeria Bridge (SNB), Lagos-Ibadan Expressway (LIE) and others. Contrary to notions that the eastern region is lacking in such kinds of projects, I would like to let you know that Shell operates as gas facilty that that pipes gas to industrial areas in Port Harcourt and Aba. Just of recent Shell completed an expansion of it has pipeline in Aba to accommodate newer industries with the location, see link: https://www.energymixreport.com/shell-boost-industries-in-abia-state-with-inauguration-of-20km-gas-pipeline Other gas projects in the eastern region is the Seplat, NPDC ongoing gas processing plant already under construction in Ohaji in Imo State. The project is worth about $700,000,00 see link: https://nairametrics.com/2019/09/01/seplat-commences-700-million-gas-plant-construction/ The project is intended to provide gas to fledgling and new industrial area within the Imo-Anambra axis and to some areas in Rivers State. So please let's welcome this development as it will help to bring down gas flaring polluting our region and add value to the Nigerian economy. Thank you for your understanding... ![]() |
So what!! It's an appreciation letter nothing more. stop reading political meanings to it ![]() |
To those of us that feel the eastern region is left behind as a result of the New AKK gas pipeline, Buhari will officially launch tomorrow. this is just to let you know the southeast is replete gas that will fuel industrialization. Seplat is currently building a new$700,000,00 gas processing plant in Imo State that will supply fledgling industries in Imo, Anambra and other states within the southeast and south-south geopolitical zone. So let's stop displaying envy towards the AKK project as it has the potential benefit of improving Nigeria's industrial revolution drive.. |
Jun 29, 2020 Shell Nigeria Gas (SNG) has completed the final phase of its 20km domestic gas pipeline expansion project in Abia State, connecting Agbor Hill, Osisioma and Araria industrial zones. The project has also enabled the supply of pipeline gas to Ariaria Market Energy Solutions Limited, the Independent Power Project (IPP) consortium that provides electricity to the popular Ariaria market in Abia State. Ariaria International Market is one of the largest leather shoe-making and open stall markets in West Africa, with over 37,000 shops and an estimated one million traders. Managing Director, SNG, Ed Ubong, said, “We are proud of this domestic gas infrastructure investment which allows the industries in Abia to have more reliable and cleaner source of energy. SNG is committed to supporting Nigeria’s industrialisation provided there is a stable regulatory environment in the domestic gas sector that allows investors recover their investment .” Managing Director, NICEN Industries Limited, a paint and plastics manufacturer connected to the pipeline gas, Christopher Eze, said, “SNG has put life back into our industries in Aba through the provision of this natural gas line. This milestone will open up the state for an influx of investors thereby creating an enabling environment that will generate job opportunities for the youth of the State. I am sure that many industries in Aba will quickly take advantage of this great opportunity. Our company sincerely appreciates SNG for this great feat”. Also speaking on the completion of the expansion project, President of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mansur Ahmed, said, “MAN is proud of the role that Shell is playing in driving industrialisation in Nigeria through domestic gas supply. Industries and manufacturing plants play a key role in transforming the Nigerian economy and this project will connect many manufacturers in Abia State, one of the nation’s major industrial hubs, to pipeline gas, which is a cheaper, cleaner and more reliable source of energy. According to Ahmed, the gas supply to the Ariaria Market IPP would strengthen micro, small and medium enterprises in the Abia State and enhance the operating environment for manufacturing to thrive. SNG together with its partners and local stakeholders has agreements to build infrastructure and deliver natural gas to over 150 industrial and commercial customers, mostly in Ogun, Abia, Rivers, Bayelsa and Lagos States. This will drive industrialisation, provide employment for skilled and unskilled local population in addition to directly improving internally generated revenues in these states. With a reputation for safety, credibility and reliability, SNG has maintained a 16-year streak of successful ISO 14001 certification and has operated for over 10 years without any lost time injuries https://www.energymixreport.com/shell-boost-industries-in-abia-state-with-inauguration-of-20km-gas-pipeline |

Commonsense99:Please don't include me and millions of thousands of my kins in your delusional, phantom idea. Your deranged leader, Nnamdi kanu is need of medical help.. |
teresades:If you are very current, you'd know that we have a 1,100 megawatt NIPP power plant in Alaoji in Abia state, there's a 300 megawatt NIPP power plant in Egbema, imo state (under construction). So stop feeling marginalized all the time |
masterP042:Take this advice from me as a fellow igbo brother. Biafra is unachievable. The project died effectively in 1974. Forget the noise that Nnamdi Kanu is making, it's just pure propaganda. We better off renegotiating our relevance politically, since it's obvious we have lost it. |
ejighikemeuwa:There's a gas project in the eastern region particularly in imo state undertaken by Seplat and NPDC to build a $700,000,00 gas processing plant to process wet gas from OML 41 in Ohaji, Imo operated by Shell. That project is already under construction and would benefit our region with increased gas for power plants and industrial activities. Stop having this 'marginalized mentality complex' it makes us look ignorant. |
Is Ndidi and Kelechi playing?? |
Killdemboth:That's up to the mining cadastre of Nigeria to determine. If they were a significant amount of gold deposit in the region, the data will be made PUBLIC to discerning investor to come explore |
Killdemboth:Please stop misinforming the people. Who told you there isn't any gas project in the region?? Currently Seplat, NPDC are currently building a $700,000,000 million gas processing plant in Ohaji that will process the wet gas coming from Shell OML 41 in Ohaji in Imo State. It expected to process nothing less than 800,000,00 million scf of gas that supply the power plants and industrial bases with Imo state and other states within the region. Please stop spewing enthic sentiments here, it makes you look ignorant The AAK project is a welcome development by all and sundry as it will spur industrialization within that region and improve economic activities |
PapaBrowne:The contrary, I think it's a worthwhile project. Nigeria has an abundance of gas and gas is badly needed to spur industrialization. This is part of the agenda since 2013 to link western, eastern and northern region through a gas code network. Everyone gets to benefit and no is left behind... We have OB3 gas pipeline that will link the eastern and western region and AKK that will take gas from the eastern region to the northern region. Please don't view this as cheating or shortchanging a particular region. Everyone is carried along. The eastern region is replete with enough hydrocarbons to power the whole country to industrialization. This should be a welcome development... |
Op I think it's actually six Uefa Championship Title Liverpool has.. ![]() |
I'm so happy for you and your family. Stories like this gives us hope that we can triumph over this pandemic. In God's gracious name, a vaccine will soon emerge. Leading research facilities around the world are on the verge of a break-through, with God's help the world will emerge from this dreaded virus ![]() |
Of course it's our turn to produce the presidency and rightly so... But we must tell ourselves the bitter truth. Nnamdi Kanu has destroyed whatever political relevance we've managed to build since 1999 till date all thanks to his rhetorics of hate speech towards other enthic groups in Nigeria. My people are yet to understand the full gravity of NK's unguarded statement and yet they allowed him to deceive thousands of right-thinking igbos to cultivate the habit of hate towards other enthic groups other than our own. Neither are we gonna achieve Biafra nor Presidency if we continue to follow the doom part of NK. I've said my own. I know some idiots we call me 'Afonja' for not typing what they want to read. It's their second nature... |
