Me, I can never immigrate to the US. I got a 4 year visa in the 80s and only spend 3 weeks before leaving. But I do not quarrel with those who immigrate to the US or any other country for a better life.

The first humans were speculated to come out of central/southern Africa and through immigration colonized the while world. Humans immigrate looking for better life - food, shelter, mate or in modern times money. And no force in the universe can stop that.

Nigerians and other Africans still attempt to cross the Mediterranean in flimsy rafts and boats to get to Europe, despite thousands drowning at sea yearly and another thousands being killed and raped in war torn Libya.

As long as their are wars, instability, poverty and lack of economic opportunities, people will immigrate to better places irrespective of risks and laws. The same thing happened in Europe during the 18th and 19th century when millions of Europeans emigrated to the Americas, Africa and Australia in search of better opportunities.

It is wrong to violently attack electricity company personnel. Seriously prepaid meter will stop all these confrontations. In some African countries, customers pay a small amount and the prepaid meter is installed. When they recharge the meter, 20% of the amount is deducted to offset the balance for the prepaid meter. They should try and implement that in Nigeria.

You should also advice electricity company personnels to stop violently disconnecting customers without justification or prior notice. The NERC guidelines forbids electricity company personnels from carrying ladder up and down disconnecting people without notice.

Now the number of children a family should have depends on the needs of the family, and believe me, it's does not depend mostly on family fortune. I have some billionaire friends who have only 2 children. Meanwhile there are some mechanics, petty traders and other low income earners who have 5 or more children.

I cannot take this advice of yours nor give it to others because having kids is more than just bearing them, you also have to raise them. Even if by 35 a lady has finished bearing kids, raising them would take another 10-15 years till they are old enough to find their own paths in life. So your argument of having kids makes family planning easier in terms of not just spacing of the kids but also their future and then having a career as well does not stand.

From your comments it's obvious you don't have any kids. If you do, you would not belch out "it takes another 10 to 15 years to raise children before they are old enough find their own paths in life". Some children find their own path early and leave their parents before their 18th birthday, some are still dependent on their parents well into their 40s. The critical time for raising children is from birth until they start primary school. That is the time they need at least one of the parents the most. By the time they enter secondary school, they should be fairly independent (and I don't mean financially) to be able to take care if themselves. For the western world, children in universities are required to have some degree of financial autonomy by working part time. It's only in Nigeria that a university student would expect his or her parents to pay tuition fees, house rent, feeding money, cloth money, and everything else until he or she finishes master's or PhD.

If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. If you have kids and you are not financially capable or ready to take care of them, you would end up forfeiting the remaining part of you active years to raising those kids which means you would have to shelve a lot of your dreams and aspirations in order to cater for those kids. I have seen it over and over again.

To sum up, my point is that one should only get married and have kids when they are financially capable and ready to commit to that 18+ years of nurturing and raising them and not because you are avoiding having them in your 30s. Marriage is nice and kids are lovely to have but if you don’t plan properly you might plunge yourself into perpetual poverty. This goes for both men and women.

Even the Omotola Ekeinde we are talking about got married at about 18 years, birthed and raised 5 children, pursued a very successful career in acting and now at 42 her last born is 18 years. Would she have had such a successful life if she married at 35?

My wife was 24 when I married her and by 32, after 3 children, we are through with child bearing. After our last born entered nursery school, she started a new career in baking. I opened an eatery outlet for her last year and she is doing really quite well despite the pandemic.

I support her even though the assertion that "27 years old is a married woman in Europe" is not entirely correct. In feminist leaning Europe ladies enter their 30s or even 40s pursuing a career rather than a family.

Having said that, I support that ladies should be encouraged to marry and have their children early. It makes family planning easier. When I say family planing, I mean not just about having children, but also planing for the children's education and wife's career.

It should be considered that women are physiologically, psychologically and spiritually different from men. Women's biological clocks run faster than that of men. A woman getting married in her 30s has less than 20 years of child bearing left. Furthermore, a woman bearing children late 30s and 40s present extra risks both to mother and child.

I went to Nigeria to bring my wife some years agom ever since we arrived it has always been money, money, materials, materials especially money. At some point my wife accused me of trying to separate her from her siblings. I told her that a time is coming she will be begging me to help her stop them. It has happened and is now happening. As a matter of fact I even brought her dad for a visit from Nigeria. Her dad was a God fearing person but the moment he started living with his oldest shameless and jobless son he has been brainwashed that her daughter and her husband owe them especially me. It's always about money, money, money. The oldest son is a jobless and shameless irresponsible man that impregnated a woman and they now have four kids. I have even got a job for him from here but he refused to go and work there in Nigeria.

Not minding the fact that he even have other siblings in abroad. One of those in abroad is always in support of this stupid irresponsible oldest guy but the other one is a very intelligent person and knows the whole truth.

If you send money to the dad now trust me he will request another in less than a week which obviously the irresponsible was the one telling the dad what to say. There was no time my wife or me or we call the dad that the irresponsible will not pretend he's not there but will put the phone on speaker so he can listen to our concert with the dad. All he's doing is yahoo and Yahoo. The second born there with him is a little bit fair but they all the same.

They always have this strong believe that their sister who is my wife owe them because they always says they took care of her. My wife's dad tried this shit with me, I played ball to for a couple of years, but when the stress became too much, I stopped and blocked his number and in fact all her family's number except her junior sister who is very reasonable. I told my wife that if she wants this marriage to succeed we must build our finances and lives together, because at the time 100% of the family expenses fell on my head. I could not take her own family responsibility as well. We did not see her father for 8 years. He only came to see his grand children about 2 months ago, and I apologized for all, but explained that I needed to build my family. We speak occasionally and he still ask for money, but this time with begging.
A man must learn up to stand up for himself and his family.
