Sixfeetbelle:Integrity? Which integrity. The girls family lacks any atom of integrity. The guy better run for his life. The family wants to chop someone else's sweat and you are talking about integrity. If her family has any integrity, they should find a way of paying back the money instead of listening to useless excuses from people without conscience. As for the guy, he has to talk to the bank, who will now reach out to me and ask me to return the money and I will accept to return it when I can. The much the bank can do is to block my account, nothing else.False. The bank can sue you for theft and you will go to jail. I know of someone that is still in jail for spending N1.5 million that was mistakingly credited to his account. He was a jobless man with 4 sickle cell kids and pleas of desperation did not sway the judge. Read a similar story here - https://www.pulse.ng/news/metro/man-in-jail-for-spending-n2-million-accidentally-sent-to-him/hhn0q8j.amp The guy can report to the police station and the parents can be arrested and charged to court. |
Queenttoast01:Bad idea. They will increase the bride price by N100,000 during negotiations, as bride price is not fixed by according to how rich they think you are. They might even ask for much more if they think that the N100k means nothing to you. |
Godsown0:To me it goes beyond the N100k. It goes to the very heart of the type of family you are about to enter. How will you go to their family house and ask for their daughters hand, knowing how shameless they are. I can never respect such a family. I will use that to judge the type of upbringing my intending wife had. It will make me think she had been pretending to be a decent girl all along and would unleash her real self once I say "I do". |
grossintel:The concept of honesty has is strange in Nigeria. They only understand the concept of unmerrited wealth, blessing alerts and instant riches. A similar issue happened to me some three weeks back. A customer went to a paga agent to transfer N5,000. The paga agent mistakenly wired N50,000. A few hours later my customer in a frantic call asked me to transfer N45,000 back. I asked for the bank details, and transferred the N45,000 back. I can never imagine coveting money or any other material thing that is not mine. |
Cornpop:Courts are there to either interprete the law or the the constitution. If a law is made and signed by an executive, if the courts feels the law is against the constitution, it can annul the law. Courts base their judgements on arguments and evidence provided and not on public news or propaganda. Let the issue pass through the judicial system all the way to the Supreme Court. |
ARANGEE! like everything else in Nigeria, including big brother naija. Imagine the baby that won was one sitting behind a C bechstein piano that cost over $200,000. It shows the baby is from very wealthy family. Poor man pikin wey actually need the money no fit win. I doubt the baby would even use cussons products. |
Dapcity007:Why should this apply only to Fulton country? Should signatures in all counties in America including those won by Trump also not be verified? In fact should all over 150 million votes cast in the last elections not be verified - in person, mail in or absentee votes? new elections with strictly in person voting will expose one of us as a fraud till then , I won't make any optimistic comment about the futureSo you guys want strictly in person voting; of all close to 150 million voters; in this 21st century and in a pandemic. You guys just want to reduce US elections to INEC's level. The only other things you guys need is ballot snatching, violence at polling stations and changing figures after the votes. Voting is a fundamental right after the voting rights act, you can't disenfranchise a person because he does not have an ID, even in Nigeria. In the era of IT, you can stop or detect a person that did multiple voting by simple biometrics (assuming that's the concern of Republicans). |
basilico:From evidence so far, it seems the attack was not a terrorist attack by Islamic terrorist, a MAGA supporter going after Democratic lawmakers or even a black lives matter supporter after police. It's simply a mentally sick mad man overwhelmed by conspiracy theories and maybe drugs. With the crazy conspiracies being peddled by far right conservatives here on nairaland, I would not be surprised if some of them carry out such crazy attacks on liberals or abortion clinics. |
Cornpop:You must have comprehension issues. Where in the article you posted that the murder was referred to as double homicide because the pregnant woman was murdered? Re read the story to understand why it was referred to as double homicide. A woman is facing federal gun trafficking charges after her illegal firearm was used in a botched home invasion on Staten Island that led to the death of an expectant mother and her boyfriend. |
Kokobilo87:You are so informed that Trump is president and Biden retired to his basement. Now tell me if these are news or opinions to millions of Trump's followers including those that attacked the Capitol on January 6th; Ukraine not Russia interfered in the 2016 US elections. Hunter Biden commited fraud in Ukraine with Burisma as an accomplice. Joe Biden covered up for his son fraud in Ukraine by forcing the resignation of the prosecutor looking into the case. Hunter Biden's laptop somehow got into Rudy Gulianni's hands and it contained evidence of fraud I. Ukraine and pedophilia against him. Joe Biden has dementia and took steroids to debate with Trump during the Presidential Debates. The 2020 presidential elections was rigged by the Dominion software but the Senate and House elections was free and fair. Trump won the 2020 elections but the democrats rigged it in favour of Biden, most especially in swing states most of which were controlled by Republicans legislatures and has Republican secretaries of states. All the courts in the US all the way to the Supreme Court are compromised. That's why Trump lost over 60 court cases despite presenting overwhelming evidence. Do the millions of Trump supporters who watch Fox and Friends and Hannity know that the programs are just opinion shows as you put it or they are news? Did Powel, Gulianni and other Trump lawyers tell the courts that they were presenting their case based on opinions or on facts (news) when they accused Dominion of rigging the elections in favour of Biden? |
Kokobilo87:Read the defence presented by Fox lawyers - https://mobile.twitter.com/mike_hixenbaugh/status/1321831924588027904?lang=en

basilico:The second amendment was promulgated when the most deadly weapon at the hands of the US Army were the Gatling I and Gatling II machine gun and the Hale rocket launcher. Compare that with today's General Purpose Machine Gun GPMG or the Apache attack helicopter, and we are not even talking about B-52s yet. Can militias acquire GPMG or Apache helicopters? |
Kokobilo87:What he is saying is that AR-15s and other automatic weapons are useless against the US military. It can only be used by civilians to kill each other, in mass killings or in militia wars. The weaponry, training and tactics at the disposal of the US military is not something any civilian militia can withstand. Just watch how the US Marines took out Al-Bagdadi and you will have a glimpse of the awesome power of the US military. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBfVFoJMDdQ The militia that carried weapons more deadly than AR-15 to confront the US military were killed like flies. |
PrideofLincoln1:And you think the likes of basilico, Ono, benalvino2, dapcity/bloodysperm or any of his numerous monikers, sexylassie, loyalhusler, etc that had been shouting Kraken up and down are reasonable? To me anyone that takes then serious and continues arguing with them is not reasonable. |
milann:I am not a motivational speaker. I am just a truth seeker. I hate lies, hypocrisy and dishonesty. I believe that if you acquire skills/knowledge, are hardworking and not afraid to take risks (calculated). You will make it anywhere. The problem is that most Nigerians are lazy (mentally). They want easy cash and give up at the first signs of failure. They waste all their time praying for breakthroughs and unmerited favours instead of investing their time and energy acquiring new skills. There are so much needs out there and very little people to fulfil these needs. My wife read marketing at ND levels. I encouraged her to acquire a skill instead of job hunting. After a full year of catering school, she now makes more more money than anyone could pay her. I am saying all these to push young guys to acquire new skills and stop complaining about no job after graduating university. |
LINTUNE:What do you suggest should happen if a young man was earning N150k or more per month and then Covid 19 caught up with him. You know last year Coronavirus lockdown made millions of people lose their jobs or businesses. You think the wife should file for divorce immediately? As I said a man cannot remain on a financial boom for ever or throughout marriage. You never even stop to think what happens if a husband dies (as men tend to die earlier due to excessive stress) and leave many children. Will the wife and children become destitute. |
gbami:If she decides not to help them we all lose - the whole family. She was wise enough to realise that for the long term wellbeing and survival of the family, she had to sustain the family while I recover my bearings. Since then, she has reaped a 100 fold that help. I paid for her to go to an expensive catering school, transportation, handouts and project fees apart from the tuition fees. I opened her own snacks outlet with a well equipped office attached. I am saving to send her on an advanced cake course abroad. So you see, she invested wisely. |
na2016:Then the marriage was never build on love but on lure. I married by wife based on the commitment and love she showed right from beginning. She has her faults but materialism is not one of them. I believe materialism beclouds relationships and friendships. When I became broke all my friends and family ran away. I was alone with only my wife and my mother who was in the UK then. Today, I have no friends. I go to my office and just come home to my family. |
na2016:For three years, I was jobless, penniless and had a new born son. My wife did not start behaving anyhow. She borrowed 100k from her brother and went to Cutonou to be bringing in bedsheets to be selling to friends and family. That sustained us for one year until I was able to get some construction contracts once again. I eternally remain greatful to her and never refuse any financial requests she makes. |
bigpicture001:This is only the mindset of some poverty stricken blacks. Go to the Niger Delta and see numerous examples of women hustling for her family. Go to Warri, Sapele, Asaba, Benin and see women go to market, farms, etc. Most raise their children single handedly without doing olosho. It's in the West here I see women feel they can sit at home all day and watch zee world or telemundo and have their husbands work himself to death, so they can buy the latest bags, shoes and phones. |
na2016:Believe me money had never sustained any marriage. It's love, companionship and understanding that have sustained most marriages I know. Running and providing for a home in modern societies does not lie with one partner only. If you legitimately make your money and not engaged in fraud or corruption, you will know that you need both partners contributing to sustaining the home. I know how much I spend on school fees, bills, medicals, groceries and others every month, and it's still not enough. And my children are not in university yet. This is why I make sure my wife started a business, so she can also start contributing to the sustaining of the home. My aged mother is with me and I know how much her upkeep and medicals cost me. I am always afraid of what happens to my family if I become incapacitated, have a financial disaster or even die. What will happen to the wellbeing of my children and my wife. |
colestephan86:They can never understand, no matter how much you educate them. Poverty is a state of mind rather than a state of physical or material being. You are poor only if you believe and and accept you are poor. A rich mind creates opportunities and wealth out of very few resources, while a poor mind creates nothing inspite of excess resources at his/her disposal. This is why Nigeria and Nigerians are poor. Marriage should be a combination of rich minds to create more wealth and not an avenue for one partner to covet the riches of the other. |
na2016:False. Marriage requires love. Else marriges of millionaires and billionaires would not most times end in divorce. So you mean to tell me women use husbands only to end suffering. You must have very low opinion of women. |
gbami:Are you serious? A woman is not expected to contribute a penny in marriage? And you got 261 likes. I now see that Nigeria is in deep shit with this stupid mindset. You mean to tell me that you expect over half the Nigerian population of women to rely only on the men to be productiv? So what do you think women can offer to men in marriage? Only sex and child bearing? In that case why waste money educating and training female children, when they will only end up in the bedroom and kitchen. I teach my daughter to be independent and not rely on anyone. That's the way we raise our daughters in the Niger Delta. |
gbami:If that is your mind set, then I am sorry to say that you started your marriage on a wrong premise. Financial stability does not depend on the amount of money you have at the moment. It can change like the British weather. Throughout your life you will pass through the highs and lows of financial stability. When I got married, I was living in a 3 bedroom flat in surulere and driving an almost brand new BMW 5 series. 3 years into marriage, I had some series of bad deals and all my financial security went south. I left surulere and moved to a much cheaper 3 bedroom flat in Ikorodu. Did my wive's love turn to resentment or the bleeped my landlord? No. She contributed in helping the family. By the time our first child came, she was the one doing business and I was taking care of our son. In less than 5 years I was able to pick up again and things has been on an upward trajectory since. Imagine how things would have turn out if I married the type of woman you are used to. As I said, financial stability does not depend on the amount of cash you have at the moment. When Elon Musk was starting out, he slept at his office, showered at YMCA and lived (eat) on $1 a day. His girlfriend lived with him in his office. Today, he is the richest man in the world. |
pompeiimagnus:I have always frown at late term abortion. This is due to the fact that late term abortion is much more riskier to the woman and elicit strong emotions from the society. Having said that, pro life supporters are muddling the debate with unreasonable and emotional arguments. How can you equate abortion to murder? Do they even understand what murder means? Even killing a person in front of live TV or online does not necessarily equate to murder not to talk of aborting a foetus which is not considered a legal person yet. If abortion is made illegal, then a person will be charged for abortion and never murder. I am glad progress that at least being made on this abortion debate, as conservative religious people are beginning so accept that women has some rights to their bodies and lives. A few years ago, they believe women should not even use condoms or any contraceptives, and once she becomes pregnant, she must the force to birth the baby, whether it was rape, the man responsible has gone AWOL or even if her health is at risk. |
pompeiimagnus:If a foetus has the right to life, what of the woman? Where does her own right to her womb and her body start? If she says she does not want the foetus inside her and definitely does not want to birth and care for a baby, are you going to put a gun to her head? Or in the alternative threaten her with prison (her and the baby)? |
Reex12:In sane countries, having sex with under age children is considered rape, even of she consented. She has not attained the age of consent. |
raumdeuter:False premise. Nigeria has one of the most appalling doctor to patient ratio in the world. The country is said to have an estimated 40,000 doctors for a population of 200 million. A major problem that Africa has been suffering from over the years is the high rate of brain drain that takes highly competent personnel in important areas from the continent to foreign countries, making their service very scarce in their respective countries. A report released by the Mo Ibrahim Foundation revealed that African countries footed a bill of $4.6 billion in training doctors who were later recruited by the UK, USA, CANADA and AUSTRALIA.The case of engineers is even worse than that of doctors. Brain drain has rendered Nigeria practically without competent engineers needed to develop the country. There was a story of a guy 1st class Mathemactics from UNN who was doing hoe and cutlass farming in Ebonyi village until he got a schorlarship to US for his PhD, Later the guy will join those developing America and we will be crying about brain drain. If we made use of them will they run away?I read the story, and according to my comprehension, I don't see how the guy will join those developing America. From the story he got a scholarship from a patriotic Nigerian to study for PhD. He will pay well over $100,000 to the US economy (with $75,000/year for tuition alone). The issue is what happens after the PhD programme? If it was Trump, he would be deported back to Nigeria to use his PhD to develop his country. But Biden might want to use his skills to develop America. Nigeria trained him and when Nigeria didnt need him what should he do? Or you want the poor guy to waste his life while waiting for Nigeria to have his time? The people that needed him have taken himIt is not that Nigeria does not need him, the problem is that Nigerian and the black race in general lacks the foresight, planning, sacrifice and cohesiveness necessary for progress. Just like you and most people on this topic supporting brain drain and cracked down on immigration at the same time, they are short sighted, selfish and self hating. They are happy at the current state of their country, state, village and even family (extended). So you are suggesting Nigeria should stop wasting money training and educating it's citizens? Maybe the government's both federal and state should hands of education and sell of the universities. That will actually show Nigeria does not want people like Emmanuel Nworie. What will be the benefit to Nigeria and even Michael Taiwo if Michael Taiwo after getting his PhD decides to stay in the US to develop their country, and never coming back to contribute anything to the country and people that gave him the opportunities to succeed? Every issue always boils down to white vs black, Anything and everything must be white vs Black. If you don't want to encounter a black person stay in Siberia and if you don't want to encounter a white man stay in Sambisa. The world in most places especially America and the western world is multi racial and going about looking for someone to hate because he has a different skin hue from yours is just unfortunate. There are people of your own skin in your own village who hate you more than any white man can ever doIt's not a matter of black vs white, it's a matter of promoting group interests. It makes sense to promote your family, clan, tribal, country and race interest for your own long term interests. Blacks are the only race I know that promotes the interests of other groups to the detriment of their own group interest, for short term personal gains. They are the only people I know that loathe and denigrate their own village people and ancestors but worships the ancestors of other races. Anyone be it Nigerian, Indian Ukrainian, Mexican who is smart and well educated should immigrate to where their skills are needed and rewarded. How you managed to see white vs black in this must be one of the wonders of the internetSkill and brains don't develop themselves, they cost money to develop. What i am saying is that if the US, Canada, UK and Australia wants best brains and skills, they should spend the money to train their own people like the Chinese, Japanese and Koreans do. But it's immoral to wait for poor nations to spend their meagre resourcing developing brains and skills only for them to steal them. In the alternative they can invest in Nigeria and poor countries by funding their universities. They would then have the moral justification to take them after they become skilled. |
meobizy:No mind them. You go think say na virginity him and him governor dey take loot the state money. |
raumdeuter:What's wrong with it is that it robs developing countries of much needed man power needed to fix their own countries needs. Basically having higher levels of education, English skills, in-demand professional expertise was what Democrats deemed as wrong for the countryIf America wants to have higher levels of education, it should spend the money educating its citizens on higher levels of in demand professional expertise. It is thievery for America to wait for developing countries to spend their meagre resources educating its citizens on high level expertise and then having them stolen. What is wrong in priritizing visas for people with extra ordinary talents? You are exceptional in your field? Then America wants you. What is wrong with that ? But the Democrat desire to play politics and do nothing will make them shoot it downThat's stealing. Do you know how much it costs to train a doctor? The physical infrastructure, the equipment, the manpower, etc? Compare how much it would cost to train a doctor in the US. In Nigeria the government heavily subsidizes university education (public universities). It is pure thievery for US to encourage these trained skilled manpower that the Nigerian government had spent billions of naira producing to emigrate and develop the US that did not spend a kobo training them. If the US, canada, UK and Australia steals all Africa's manpower, who would be left behind to develop the continent? Boko Haram, Al-Shabab, Fulani herdsmen, militants, etc.? Even demanding potential immigrants speak English was shot down, You can't immigrate to Canada if you don't have at least 6 in IELTS or French LanguageHow long does it take to learn English or any other language. This is a very mute point. I know people that left Nigeria for Italy without understanding a word of Italian, and in 6 months they were speaking Italian like Antonio Conte. My issue with you guys is the fact that you are promoting the talking points and interests of white Caucasians as against the interests of your own people. I don't quarrels with white Americans hating immigrants - (who are mainly from poor nations like Nigeria), because they are getting more competition and losing their once absolute dominance. But a black man hating on other blacks for attempting to use the same path path they themselves used is wickedness and self hatred. |
He said there was high level of promiscuity and permissiveness amongst students in the state. “50 or 60% of girls in our secondary schools are not virgins. And this is not good for the image of the state and of education.”How did he know? How are we sure he is not among the ones disvirging the girls. What about the boys? How many percentage of the boys in secondary school are virgins? Or is he telling us that a high percentage of disvirgined secondary school boys is good the image of the state and of education? |
