Because Ironsi's regional governors were appointed by him and they take command from him just like Gowon's state governors. Ojiofor: Yoruba like to point fingers only at a dead military General, for example they will blame a dead Abach for June 12 than blame a living IBB. The same thing they will blame Ironsi for actions of Gowon who abolished the regions he inherited from Ironsi and replaced them. With 12 states. Abacha along with about 12 other senior military officers - Olurin, Dongoyaro, David Mark, Akogun, akilu, Togun, we're the ones actually responsible for the annulment of June 12. It's was more or less a military coup and IBB was held hostage for 3 days. Remember the letter annuling June 12 was never signed by anyone. You can close your ears and scream " Gowon killed Nigeria's 1963 constitution and subsequently true federalism, it can't stop people like us shouting the truth. One day you might just hear. |

gidgiddy: The 4 Regions of the time only lost democracy, they did not lose true federalism. All 4 Regions existed right This statement is an oxymoron. How can you lose democracy and at the same time gain true federalism? Federalism mean a federation of independence or semi independent regions, states or provinces. How can you be independent and at the same time be subservient to a federal government? The very first paragraph of decree 34 states; Subject to the provisions of this Decree, Nigeria shall on 24th May 1966 (in this decree referred to as ‘the appointed day’) cease to be a Federation and shall accordingly as from that day be a Republic, by the name of the Republic of Nigeria, consisting of the whole of the territory which immediately before that day was comprised in the Federation. I am at loss as to how you process information. A statement says federation has been ceased or abolished and you read it to mean a federation has been created. Is that rational thinking? up to the day Ironsi died. They controlled their resources and paid the agreed tax to federal government that was agreed at independence. How can the regions control their resources and pay the agreed tax to federal government when General Ironsi had already suspended the constitution? Who agreed on what and when? |

gidgiddy: Take more time to read decree 34, it only standardised the civil service. The decree called the Regions "groups of Provinces". Thats what they were any way. Its the same as calling a state a "group of local governments", thats what a state in Nigeria is.
Decree 34 never broke up anything. It did not take away resource control nor cancel fiscal federalism.
It only standardised the civil service . How can you have a standardized(unified) civil service and still have resource control? Who will grant mining licenses, manage the natural resources, collect the revenue and share the revenue? Now in the 6 months of General Ironsi, how did it operate? Who was collecting the resources? |

gidgiddy: You are talking about two different things here. Nobody is denying that Ironsi was running a military dictatorship without the pillars of democracy.
What is being disputed is if it was Ironsi that abolished Regionalism and introduced unitary rule.
How could Ironsi have been the one that abolished Regionalism if the 4 Regions he met on the ground were still existing the day he died?
How is it possible that Ironsi introduced unitary rule when all 4 Regions had resource control and fiscal federalism right up to the day Ironsi died? Please stop arguing like a thirsty stubborn goat that refuses to be led to the river to drink water. You are just holding on the the false view that Gowon destroyed Nigeria's regionalism instead of Ironsi purely on sentimental and emotional reasons instead of fact. Many people have educated you but you stubbornly refuse to drink from their fountain of knowledge. Read decree 34 of 1966 by General Ironsi. Why do you think he labelled it the Unification Decree? Ironsi abolished the federation structure of government with regions as the federating units and converted them to a unitary form of government with the same regions as its component units. Whether you call then provinces, regions or states it does not matter. The fact that he continued to call them regions did not change the fact that they lost their independence to the centre. Some countries refer to their Federating components as states instead of regions. What is the difference between states, regions or provinces? Gowon simply changed the appellation from regions to states. |

Both jobs are over $100k per annum. I will keep ensuring diversity and inclusion is promoted in recruitment.
The 23 year old guy has a dinstinction in electrical engineering from a local Canadian college. The Jamaican has an electrical engineering degree from back home and worked in telecoms before migrating to Canada and worked mostly low wage jobs prior to been offered employment. If this is socialism to some, then so be it. I like that kind of socialism that helps me to pull others up. I hate responding to him because he is so ignorant in his ignorance. He just reads some catch words like marxism, socialism, conservatism, liberalism, etc, and without a more in depth understanding of these terms go on to form guru on these subjects. That's why the say half education is worse than illiteracy. Man is a social animal. It socialism that gave man the added advantage to dominate the planet. Social animals are way more successful than non social animals. Numerous disciplines such as anthropology, sociology, psychology, political science, and economics deals with social interactions within human societies. To achieve a successful society, there must be a delicate balance between socialism and capitalism. 100% capitalism is as bad as 100% socialism. Many European countries have been able to strike that balance and have created a relatively peaceful and prosperous society. |
Family › Re: Help! I Want To Leave My Wife by wirinet(m): 5:05am On May 02, 2021 |
OfeAchi: BACKGROUND:
I had a decent job before I met her and I was responsible for all the decisions I took, which mostly led to favourable outcomes. However when I met her and began a relationship, I wasn't having the freedom I needed. Any decision I wanted to take without her authorization always ended badly. For example there was a period I wanted to jointly rent an apartment with a male friend of mine. She strongly opposed this but I still went ahead to pay rent. Unfortunately for me, within four months my friend had some issues with landlord and we were both evicted from the apartment. (although I got compensated)
Another instance was when I got paid some bonuses from company and decided to invest in some crypto projects during their ICOs (in 2017). I did some market analysis of these crypto projects before my decision to invest, only for her to advice me against it. She said we should instead, use the money to start farming. I didn't listen to her and went ahead to invest. THE RESULT: the investment that was supposed to take me to the moon now became more worthless than tissue paper! I shed tears because of this.
I now decided to get rid of her, but all plans of mine proved abortive. The more I tried to get her out of my life, the more we were brought together. Can you believe that the day I finally proposed to her was the very same day I tried to make out with an old girlfriend?
A friend of mine went to consult an ifa priest, who told him that my fiance has a cloud of good fortunes around her. But I don't believe in those spiritual mumbo-jumbos! I was determined to leave her. This made me begin applying for jobs in other states and towns, but nothing came forth. I even went for interview/test but didn't scale through. Some weeks later, she told me that she wasn't in support of me getting job in another town (she says she was scared of losing me).
Did you know? the time I decided to remove the thoughts of leaving her from mind and fully accept her into my life, was the time that I finally got a better job in another city!
MARRIAGE We got married in 2019 and I was of the mindset that since she may be an ogbanje, therefore things would work in my favour and I would become a millionaire very quickly, but that's not the case.
Since marriage, any decision I take without her approval always leads to disaster! I wanted to invest in a partnership deal and told her about it but she disapproved and said I should save the money instead. I went ahead to invest and I lost 400k! Same for other decisions in the house, the outcome was always negative whenever I don't heed her advice.
I hate all this! I'm a full grown man. Why should my life be based on the decisions of a woman? I feel like I'm no longer in control of my life. I'm about to take a car loan from my company in order to escape this constant public commute and trekking but she has vehemently disapproved, that I should instead save for another year or two before buying car. But I still won't listen to her! If the loan ends in a disaster, I have decided that I would abandon this marriage and relocate to another country. A country where voodoo and religious mumbo-jumbo do not exist, so that I can be in full control of my life!
.......PS: we have a year old baby girl. Maybe I could be sending monthly upkeep from this new country I intend to relocate to.
Able readers, is my final decision a good one? Let me first tell you that you are suffering from the same problem that has kept Black Africa back for centuries, which is lack or inability to take responsibility for our wrong decisions. We always look for someone or something else to blame our terrible decisions on. That your wife is a rare gem. She had been 100% right in all her advice to you. And you have never taken her advice, but somehow still blame her when your stupid choices go wrong. She advised you against renting an apartment with a friend. You friend fùcked up and you were evicted, somehow it was her fault and not yours or even your friend's fault. She advised you against investing in crypto currencies, you went against her advice. The crypto currency failed and somehow it's her fault and not yours. Mind you most cryptos apart from bitcoin and one or two other are scam. You want to take a car loan and she advised you against it, telling you to save for it instead. And you see that as a terrible advise. A you all right. Do you know the exorbitant interest rate and other hidden charges they charge on loans in Nigeria? Even Ifa told you that she has a cloud of good fortunes around her and you still doubt. Maybe you need to go to a pastor that will tell you she is jezebel. You claim she has brought you bad luck but presently you are better off than when you met her. You have a good job, a good house a daughter and you are considering buying a car. Millions of Nigerians would want such "bad luck". I really think you have mental issues. See a psychologist. |

Tell us his name, his profile and achievement in life He is right. Tinubu is not fit to lead the Yorubas. Tinubu is not intellectually, culturally or even politically fit to lead the Yorubas. Yoruba leaders of the past were renowned to be fearless, morally upright, fiercely nationalistic ( I would say tribalistic) and selfless. Tinubu has non of these qualities. Tinubu does not care about Yorubas or Yoruba interests, all he cares about is power and money. What has tinubu done or said to protect or support Yorubas that are being slaughtered everyday by Fulani Herdsmen? Buhari can be flawed on many fronts, but what you cannot deny is his love for his people or their interests. When some Fulani were murdered in Oyo, he lead a delegation of top Fulani to Ibadan to register his displeasure. He was even a private citizen then without any power. What has tinubu done for his Yoruba people with his enormous political power and influence? On the intellectual level, tinubu is no where to be found. Yes, he might be a good accountant but as an intellectual, no. How many books has he written? How many lectures has he given? What are his political, economic and social philosophies. Comparing tinubu to Awolowo is a huge insult to the late sage. Tinubu is a thug, and uses thuggery to hold lagos and the southwest to ransome. I don't see how a once progressive and vibrant tribe - the Yorubas can be held hostage by one man. |

Upon Pantami’s return to Nigeria from the Middle East where he schooled and formulated his religious foundations, he settled in Bauchi State where a group of like-minded fanatics formed a group – and linked it to the terror group in Eastern Africa. The group was called Al Shabab. They recruited heavily and preached a more violent based gospel. The group operated in Bauchi State between 2009 and 2011. It drew its members from the elite in Bauchi State. A senior special advisor [SSA] to the Governor of Bauchi State [Isa Yuguda] was recruited into the terror group. His name is Dr. Chido. Also, Hon. Besides where will you find such number of Fulani women and children in a single location, outside their sabo settlements or forest abode. These look like indigenous students and residents.
I hope the security organizations will get to the bottom of this. With people like Pantanmi in all levels of government including the security agencies, I doubt the perpetrators would be found, not to talk of bringing them to justice.

Persistent lies against Islam will also bring back the old conspiracy of Vatican for bringing and training a Christian from Cameron who caused chaos in Kano.
We will consider, unveiling all conspiracies set against Muslims by CAN through their former Secretary of Northern Nigeria who converted to Islam to tell us more about their evil agenda. Which persistent lies? Is Islam not the world's most violent religion? Was Islam not propagated using war and violence? Is there a majority Islamic country that is not under some sort of violence? Especially in 2009....when Muhammad Yusuf and his boys hasn't deviated from their focus
Even me as a real niggarrr as at then will bail them anyday, anytime twice on Monday NSCIA is just playing to the gallery, they are just trying to justify their support of Islamic terrorism by claiming Christians also support Islamic terrorism. This is called whataboutism or false equivalence. They gave no details of the pastor or church or if the pastor is a member of CAN. They just used a general term - "a pastor". Even if it's true, so what? Pastors or Christians bail out Muslim suspects all the time. A surety does not have to be of the same religion as the person you are bailing. Finally, Muhammad Yusuf never preached or advocated violence. It was after his murder that his followers decided to use violence and terrorism as a means of getting their aims. So bailing Mohammed Yusuf did not equate to support of terrorism then. Meanwhile Pantanmi supported terrorism and terrorists. He eugolised Osama Bin Laden after the 9/11 attacks. He supported ISIS and other terrorist groups. He supported the killing of Christians. |
