Sweetcho:Agreed she a heartless monster, but what do you suggest a woman who becomes pregnant and doesn't want the baby to do. There are millions of such girls or ladies that require your sound advice. |
MrOjay1:So according to your reasoning, the baby should be her punishment for enjoying sex? What a baby becomes a punishment instead of a source of joy, then something is fundamentally wrong with the human mind. Allow the woman to abort, una say abortion is sin. The woman decided to sell the pikin for a mere N10,000 to a man of god. Maybe she thinks the man of God will raise the child in the way of the Lord. Una dey condemn. I am sure some wealthy childless couples are ready to pay millions. So what do you want her to do with the baby she does not want, throw it inside the forest or canal? |
aroundtheearth:Na only pastor suleiman waka come? Na him be the only pastor for naija? |
byteem:What do you expect the man to do when his whole life resolves around the church and pastor suleiman? His wages are paid by the church as a pastor heading a branch. His house was being paid by the church. The only relevant certificate he has is probably a pastoral certificate from the church. And you expect him to confront the pastor while still under the church? Now, shouldn't you ask what the issue with the marriage was. What was the bone of contention from the wife's perspective that necessitated the intervention of her family. Then how come she stayed with the church when her husband left, was the church more important than her husband? |
Habiyo:What if the man is your spiritual father and at the same time your employer. And further more it was your wife that came to you to confess her sins/mistake and ask you for forgiveness, as forgiveness of sins is central to Christianity. |
salford1:White privilege. His brains will reset when he receives a more stringent penalty (possibly jail term), than Riley. Why a blackman will be fighting against institutional racial injustice against blacks is beyond me. |
ZooOga:This would have been possible pre January 6th, but after the January 6th attack at the legislative arm of government, no business will touch Donald Trump or his family with a 20 foot pole. All his previous business partners have jumped ship including banks, property managers and other business partners. He is said to have a $2 billion outstanding loan with Deutsch Bank, and the bank have declared they will not do further business with Trump. I will be surprised if he does not declare bankruptcy within 5 years. Politically, he is dead. All his big donors have withdrawn support, he will find it impossible funding a political campaign. On thing that pisses off most Americans is a direct attack on their democracy. If he had only made noise about losing the election due to fraud and not take extra ordinary measures like threatening the Georgian secretary of state and DOJ, inviting his supporters to Washington to violently distrupt the certification of electing results, insulting the Vice President and putting his life in danger, I am certain he would have grown stronger and become a permanent force in republican party and US politics (a kind of godfather ). But now he is fighting for his political, economic and social survival. His greatest undoing was organising a protest on Jan 6th and ordering his supporters to storm the Capitol. |
nnennachiji:To me criminalising abortion is a worse evil than legalising and controlling it. There is just no sane reason for criminalising it. It only endangers the lives of young poor and vulnerable women. It makes procuring abortion exorbitant and out of reach of poor women. The well to do are not affected at all, as they can afford to pay any price. Even in ultra conservative Catholic Northern Ireland, before the decriminalisation of all forms of abortion, girls from rich families pay thousands of euros travelling to Europe to procure abortion. The reasons for banning abortions are purely religious and has no foundation in logic. In terms of population, the world is already close to 8 billion and is set to double in 50 years. All these despite the high abortion rate. Human population only hit 1 billion just about 200 years ago. This means we took 150,000 years to hit 1 billion from our evolutionary beginnings. Now we add 1 billion every 9 or so years. If we talk psychological trauma, an unwanted child is more traumatic to the mother than aborting it. If you have been around unwanted children you would cry for their plight and sufferings. If it was in the 60s and 70s when the family extended structure was still strong, children born out of wedlock were cared for by the whole family. But, now in the 21st century where the extended family structure has broken down, and everyone is for himself and God for us all, unwanted children suffer neglect and even abuse. One of the greatest fuel of instability and destabilisation in a country is having a mass of poor, illiterate, unproductive and desperate young men. They are easy recruits for religious, political and social extremism. Nigeria at present is sitting on a keg of gun powder, it only needs a spark to ignite it. Any country that hopes to develop must control it's population.

linearity:This one case to me was a stupid and senseless political stunt. If a person don't want to render you a service or sell you a good, go somewhere else. I feel the gay couple not make a mountain out of a molehill as there are hundreds if not thousands of other cake makers. Also the Evangelicals exaggerated the issue. You want to tell me evangelicals don't use the services of gay people? You listen to gay musicians, watch gay actors and sportsmen, and buy goods made and sold by gay people. So does it make sense to refuse to make a cake simply because the client is gay? |
ibuildstuff:Who told you Trump is a Christian? Was he ever baptised? Did he ever confess his sins? Has he ever read the Bible? Does he go to church? Evangelical christians are the most hypocritical creatures in the universe. They are driven by hate (hatred of liberals, democrats, Muslims, gays) and prosperity (sudden wealth no matter the source). Anyone that can promise them these two things will have their soul. |
PHijo:Is this all you could find on sexual assault allegations on president Joe Biden after scouring google? Eight women have alleged that Biden either touched them inappropriately or violated their personal space in ways that made them uncomfortable. Is this even an allegations? What does it mean by touched them inappropriately or violated their personal space in ways that made them uncomfortable? Where, how and under what circumstances? Do the 8 women not have names or are they ghosts? Now, compare this with the very detailed allegations against your "god" - names time and circumstances. Trump still has a court case to answer with regards to E. Jean Carrol, who still alleged that he raped her in a store some 20 years ago. We are still waiting for your "god" to provide his DNA sample to match the dress she alleged she wore when Trump raped her. |
PHijo:Where are the clips? You mean Biden was sexually abusing women and girls in public with thousands of people watching in the full glare of the world? Or did the sexual abuse take place in a private resident or Jeffrey Epstein's lair? Where are the sexual abuse allegations? How many? Meanwhile 26 women have come out to accuse your "god" of sexual abuse. See the allegations here - https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.huffpost.com/us/entry/us_57ffae1fe4b0162c043a7212/amp |
OpatolaEsq:I have a friend that his father died last year, but his uncle who was running his father's company claimed his father wrote a will in which he handed over the whole company and most of the company to his uncle and the second wife along with the children of the second wife. My friend actually lived in US and was not involved with his father's company. His father died while staying with him in the US and had been taking care of him for 5 years since he suffered stroke. He was actually buried in the US as he died during the covid lockdown. Anyway, when the will was read, it was discovered to be forged, the signature did not my match and it was dated on the date he was not in the country. The case is already with the police, but everyone including the police and family is asking my friend to settle out of court. What do you advice my friend to do. |
banmee:They are simply indoctrinated anarchists. They have been radicalised by Fox news (well actually Fox Opinions), Newsmax, Brietbart and QAnon. They can never reason like normal humans again. What this video to understand the cause and extent of the radicalization. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPmcvCz6sPk |
PHijo:So you mean that all around the world democrats are against only Christians or they are also against Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Satanists, Ogbonis, etc? |
PHijo:Explain what you mean by freedom of worship, and host democrats are denying Christians their freedom you worship. Also tell us if that same freedom extends to the freedom to worship Satan. |
Swinger60:You mean you see nothing wrong with a commissioner having sex orgies and recording same on his phone? This is a political office holders with a wife and children at home. OK. What will you say if the commissioner was female instead of a man. Would you still say "what's his offence?" If a woman commissioner with a husband and children at home is shown in a sex orgy with other men? I am sure you are one of those that go to church every Sunday and form "holier than thou" in matters of fornication, adultery, abortion, gayism, and other moral crimes. |
Awoo88:Don't mind them, that is why I say corruption and illiteracy is the bane of the Nigerian judicial system. The charge sheet is rubbish; "That you, Adetunji Tunde Oluwasegun, sometime between the month of July, 2020 and 21st of August, 2020 at Ilorin, Kwara State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court dishonestly took the sum of N2,000,000.00 (Two Million Naira), property of Sherifat Omolara Sanni, which she erroneously transferred to your bank account 0008383333 domiciled with Guaranty Trust Bank plc, without her consent and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 286 of the Penal Code and punishable under Section 287 of the same Penal Code"Where did the defendant see the Sherifat Omolara Sanni before you talk of him dishonestly taking her money? This at best should have been a civil case whereby the defendant is given time to refund the money. The the judgement is absurd. The convict is being punished 3 times for the same offence. 1. Pay a fine. 2. Go to jail 3. Return the money. The judgement itself reeks of corruption. Then what is it with these accused confessing and pleading guilty to crimes without the presence of their lawyer? A standard accused must be read his rights before arrest and interrogation, his rights to a lawyer and a right to remain silent. |
Swinger60:Why not save some anger and blame on the old politician having and recording his sex orgy. I just don't understand why you expend all your anger on the poor boy. |
simplyOJ:Imagine if someone found such a phone or laptop in the US concerning a politician or any of his relatives. |
koonbey:I never claimed to be a lawyer, and don't have to be a lawyer to know that this whole case including the judgement is against natural justice. Nigerian justice system is skewed towards protecting the rich and powerful, while oppressing the poor and weak. First an for most the sentence is too severe for "defamation of character" case. Millions of characters are defamed each day in the print and electronic media everyday, even here on nairaland, and I have never seen anyone sentenced to one year imprisonment for it. If a simple defamation of character offense for a first time offender that willingly confessed instead of wasting the courts time is one year, then I wonder what other crimes like fraud and corruption will carry. So if he had not confessed, he would have been sentenced 5 years without the option of a fine abi? Secondly, he was not accused of stealing the phone, he was not accused of violently threatening the politician. He only blackmailed the politician, because he thought that Nigerians hold their political office holders accountable and he could blackmail him for money. Mind you if this was a sane country, it's either the blackmailer would be rich or the politician would be ready to end his career. I am not justifying the blackmail, but if the poor man is facing the consequences of his crimes, the rich should also be made to face the consequences of their actions. Imagine, a politician caught in an orgy on video and his excuse is that it was faked. He should have resigned or be fired the very next day. Finally such blackmail is common place even the the Western world. Blackmailers, jealous boyfriends/ girlfriends and online junk bloggers like linda ikeji post such regularly, and I don't see the police and the justice system come down so tough and quick on them. You think if it was linda ikeji that posted such nude pictures of the politician, you think the man, the police and the justice system would be able to be able to harass he to confess to "defamation of character" charge? |
tit:Exactly. I am sure the police tortured the poor guy to get the useless confession from him. Imagine the very stupid and senseless confession; I decided to superimpose one of his pictures on a sex background to force him to negotiate a settlement with me.How can such an "illiterate" superimpose a picture of the chief on a sex background? Even Hollywood film editors with sophisticated equipments would find it difficult doing such a perfect editing job. Then the charge"defamation of character" is a farce. I am sure the guy did not employ the services of a lawyer. A lawyer newly called to the bar would destroy the case. Blackmail and extortion - yes, but defamation of character - hell no. After viewing the actual video, I confirmed that the boy was wrongly accused and charged. If you Look in the mirror at the headboard of the bed, you will see a reflection of the old man receiving what looked like a BJ. Confirming the video was real and authentic. There was no editing anywhere. |
PDPGuy: PDPGuy:You seem to have time, bandwidth and effort to waste. He is one of the trolls that have taken over this thread. |
Can't seun do something about the nuisance that is spoiling this thread? He is derailing and demeaning a thread that had been great and discouraging people like me stop participating. I realise he is just seeking attention and advice people to simply ignore him, but then he continues to spam the thread ceaselessly. Can't they ban is IP or IPs so he stops creating annoying monikers. |
JESHAL:I would like you to list the attribute that makes conservatives love the former escort. Those attributes you want your daughter or wife to emulate. |
JESHAL:This only applies to European Conservatism. The US version of conservatism is religious extremist, dogmatic, homophobic, nationalist, sexist, racist, anti education, intolerant, promote violence, etc. In fact I see no difference between them and Boko Haram. You don't judge former escorts, but you judge former lawyers, academic doctors and professionals who became first ladies, because they are democrats? |
OneTemplate:I drive in lagos, and in fact have driven in lagos for over 30 years. So I know far more about Lagos traffic problems than you. I was driving in lagos when fines for traffic offenses rose from a few thousand naira to hundreds of thousands of naira. Did that stop or even reduce traffic violations? I was driving in Lagos when mandatory psychiatric evaluation and treatment was imposed on one way driving offenses, Did that stop or even reduce traffic violations? Do you think this new law of auctioning cars that are found driving one way will stop or reduce cars driving way? Your guess is as good as mine. You don't cure a disease by treating the symptoms while leaving the root cause of the disease. We have serious system issues, which includes lawlessness and impunity by government officials and the elite, corruption at all levels and others. Then there is the problem of terrible roads. Try driving from trade fair to LASU and see the chaos that goes on there everyday. Until those issues are addressed and thrashed, we will continue to go round in circles. This law will only further enrich police and LASMA officials. |
JESHAL:Out of all first ladies, it is a former escort that married her fathers mate as third wife that the conservatives love. Says much about conservatism in America. The European conservatism is very much different in meaning to that of the US. |
naptu2:I stand corrected. Still against the law anyway. I believe the government is putting the burned of their incompetence on the general population. What happens to seizing or suspending driver's license or even vehicle license. What happens to punishing the actual offenders instead of the owner. Most cars owners don't drive themselves and employ driver's. You mean I send my driver to go on an errand, he drives one way and my car get impounded and auctioned, while the driver goes scot-free? |
Tonnyray:I am not talking of individuals but a group of people. All social animals including humans tend to follow a leader. You see the effect of Trump on his followers. He tells them to break the law, they enthusiastically follow. |
plaindealer:The Lagos State government or any other government don't have the powers to impound and auction your car. That's is against section 44 (1) of the Nigerian constitution, which states and I quote; 44. (1) No moveable property or any interest in an immovable property shall be taken possession of compulsorily and no right over or interest in any such property shall be acquired compulsorily in any part of Nigeria except in the manner and for the purposes prescribed by a law that, among other things -How can people obey the law when the government itself is lawless. |
plaindealer:Leadership. People tend to follow their leader - whether for good or for bad. I call in role modelism. You role model could be your father or mother, politician, religious figure, historical figure, etc. In Nigeria most of our role models are politicians or rich men of questionable character and wealth. You don't have to steal or rape because other people are doing the same thing.People do infact steal or rape if their role model encourages it. People even commit suicide at the prompting of their role model Just obey the law as a good citizen. It impossible to obey the law when the lawmakers and law executors don't obey the law. |
