truthfulparrot:No they did not get it wrong. The Democrats knew exactly what they are doing. They knew from the beginning that the republicans would never voted to implicate and remove Trump, they did it first for posterity and to continue to erode the republican base. Just like the first impeachment trial, it will be on the records forever and some republicans would have a change of mind in their support of Trump and the republicans in general. That 7 senators voted against trump and many more blame Trump for the violence despite voting against conviction means some republicans are jumping ship. There is no way the republicans will win the popular votes if they present Trump in the next elections. The Democrats are waiting for the republicans to make the mistake of presenting Trump in the next elections. |
Bluntguy:I had thought You guys would have compared Trump to Buhari, as both refused to concede to an election they lost, and both encouraged their supporters to react violently leading to unnecessary deaths. So I don't understand how you can vilify buhari but praise Trump for inciting violence after an election loss. This new attitude of trump in refusing to concede elections has started reverberating around the world. In Myanmar, the army refused to accept an election it lost and forcefully took over government. What happens if APC losses the next elections and refuses to concede and handover, despite losing at the courts. I would love to hear what you guys will say then. |
Obrigardo:No matter the number of witness that is called, even if Trump led the insurgents into the capitol itself and shot someone in broad daylight light, he would still not lose republican votes. I am even shocked 6 republicans broke rank with the rest of the republican party. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTACH1eVIaA Trump is master of emotional manipulation, and emotional bonds are extremely difficult to break. Trump plays on the emotions - fears, hatred, bigotry and insecurities of certain segment of the society, most especially the barely educated, blue collar, white male who is finding it difficult to survive in a highly fast pace competitive world. |
9japride:The so called scammer is not even a scammer, he is more of a ponzi scheme initiator. He just decided to start a ponzi scheme and was only able to attract very few customers. All ponzi schemes start with one person (the top of the triangle), and other triangles build from there. See illustration below. There are lots of ponzi schemes in Nigeria. Some purport to sell some health supplements at exorbitant prices like GNLD, others purport to sell some sort of service. MMM went with the "help" format which was highly successful. I remember the first ponzi scheme in the late 80s, it was the called bond. You buy a peace of paper called bond with N16, and your name is put on the bottom of the paper, which was number 5. If you sell one of the bond your name goes to number 4 until you get to the top. Each bond you sell entitled you to receive N4 and then N4 to the next down line. Anyway, everyone got involved except me. I explained that when the scheme becomes saturated and no more mugus coming into the system, people at the bottom of the pyramid would lose money. Only those at the top which most likely are the initiators would make real money. When it went burst people lost money. Most of my friends lost their school fees.

9japride:That's why I say Nigeria's brand of Christianity is a strange brand. It's all about tithes, offerings and prosperity. It avoids the core principles of the teachings of Christ which is love of God and neighbour and forgiveness of transgressions. I am sure they don't know the part of the lord's prayer which states " and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us". I am so surprised Nigerians so called Christian wants revenge for someone who sinned and then asked for forgiveness and made an agreed restitution. If he was not ready to forgive, he should have told him off and refused the 10k restitution/ refund. |
musicproducer:Murdering a murderer years later in revenge does not exonerate you from being a murderer. |
musicproducer:Then you don't know the true definition of scam. A scam is simply making an offer you can't or don't intend to meet. That's collecting money under false pretenses. |
musicproducer:So to you it is OK to scam a scammer? |
Kriss216:Even though I don't fornicate as I am happily married. Show me anywhere where fornication is a crime. |
Chinedu1994:Then those one have other mental issues outside the scamming. People do legitimate investments and lose everything. In fact one should never invest if you cannot handle loss or failure. Others have committed suicide for heart breaks and other emotional disappointments. |
Chinedu1994:Those one should be encouraged to also write their own experience on nairaland. Maybe he would negotiate with them to take their posts down also. I don't like generalisation or speculated accusations without proof. |
Kriss216:Sorry to say, but you are delusional. Which crime do/did I commit that I hide? |
Kriss216:That why I said that I can never subscribe to such God. If I am not seen as a criminal by the police, my friends, my community and everyone around me, but by only a people with a certain doctrine, most of whom I have never met. Then I am OK. |
Kriss216:Never! I have never been arrested by police, I have never had a complaint filed against me. And I have been around for a while. |
Chinedu1994:You now agree with us all that you are no better than the scammer? You have got to learn to let go. Pains like that make us wiser and stronger. Continuing to harbour past pains and hurts can be quote energy sapping. You need to accumulate positive energy instead of dwelling on the negative. |
Kriss216:I never claimed to be holy, we all have our faults. But I am definitely not a criminal, and I have never committed any crime. So you and your God labelling me a criminal is insulting apart from libelous. |
Chinedu1994:Then you should have told him your pains and either refused his offer or renegotiate. But one you two reach an agreement, morals demand that you follow through. He might also have suffered greatly and still suffering as a result of the post. My only grouse with you is that you should not have collected the N10k if you still want to continue punishing him for causing you pain. |
Kriss216:May I never follow such a God that see me as a scammer, murderer or criminal without commiting any crime. It's like labelling a cute and innocent new born a criminal before he even develops a mind of his own. |
musicproducer:Then he should have told him off and not collect the N10k. Collecting the N10k and then reneging on the agreement also makes the OP a scammer. |
Kriss216:I disagree. We are not all criminals in the eyes of God. I am definitely not a criminal in the eyes of any God. I won't say I am pure, but a criminal? Capital No! The OP should delete the post as agreed. Nigerians need to value the importance of agreements, if you made an agreement and the other party fulfilled their own part, you should also fulfil your own part of the agreement. This is the reason why not one wants to do business with Nigerians. We don't know how to keep to agreements. |
Ibime:It's a bleeped up system. How can Judiciary be so politicised and they expect real justice? In the US you have judges that openly identify as democrats and republicans, so they put party loyalty above country. This is a disaster waiting to happen. America has all the ingredients for dictatorship and authoritarianism. Imagine you can not indict a siting president and you can not indict a president after leaving office for crimes while in office. So in effect an American presidents can never be indicted save for perjury. They are just lucky that Trump was not smart and evil enough. One day a Hitler like person would take over as President, and America is bleeped. |
TalkTalkTwins:What if the man that got her pregnant is also a police officer, should they both not be sacked? Then, what of police men that gets ladies pregnant without marrying them, they should sacked also. |
Sagay212:Brand new saw that still has carton in its handle and brand new cutlasses that's shining like aluminium. It looks more like they arrested innocent building tools seller. Police would never go to the scene of a violent crime, they would wait until the hoodlums have gone and then come and arrest passersby and traders close to the scene. That's the modus operandi of the Nigerian police. |
Vardanes2:So how long do you think the drastic measures to control the dollar flow will last, when everything we consume is denominated in dollars? You think price control simply by restricting supply of dollars will work in the long run? |
Speaktruth88:Let's apply that principle to all. Many states don't want cows roaming around their forests and streets, so why has Fulani herdsmen not carried their bags and leave? Why are they fighting to stay by force? Many states don't want the wearing of hijab - especially in their schools. Why do Muslims not simply pack their bags and go back to their states? |
Esseite:Really investments where? Real investments in a country deliberately stifling business with multiple taxation, infrastructural strangulation and insecurity? Real investments when Herdsmen are killing farmers and destroying their farms, when even businesses on ground are folding up and running away? Real investments when I have heen trying to register a limited liability company for over 1 month now. I have paid all fees and up till now nothing from CAC. I went to their office and only the security man who told me to call the head office. A phone line that is perpetually switched off. If you have 100 million naira, would you rather not invest it in crypto currency or some other instruments like stocks, gold, etc that gambling it in investing in the Nigerian economy? The government needs an economic team to chart an economic plan that would see Nigeria out of the current economic doldrums. |
VeeVeeMyLuv:How can you compare Nigeria with China? China has a huge trade surplus with the world, it's currency is even undervalued to take advantage of that trade deficit. Nigeria on the other hand does not trade anything of significance outside oil and our exchange rate has to depend on the vagaries of oil price. China also took control of its digital products. Most digital products consumed by Chinese are Chinese owned. They ban Facebook, Twitter and most foreign products and have Chinese clones. But in naija just forget, have u forgotten that the number one citizen went for medical attention in London for months! Why did they not patronise naija. Have u yourself seen American politicians coming here, Nigeria to acquire mansions, castles, skyscraper, hotels, business property with looted public funds? Instead these leaders u are trying to defend does exactly that in America and Europe.I am not defending anyone and your examples above are irrelevant to the topic. What i am simply stating is the simple economic fact as long as we - I mean individuals and governments turn ourselves to consumers instead of producers, we will continue to go round in circles. |
Mrpojj:Because our current mind set is consume, consume and consume. From individual levels to governmental levels. Even in terms of digital products we consume foreign products instead of producing. How many people in Nigeria are involved in making digital products? |
buckeyemedia:Read this article, it's incisive. - Is Cryptocurrency the Future of Money? |
Esseite:CBN is only chopping of leaves in trying to kill the tree. Crypto currency is the future of transactions. The digital economy can never be run by physical money. If Mark Zuckerberg is allowed to start his own crypto currency, that will be the beginning of the end for paper money. You balance your exchange of forex (through cryptos or real money) by balancing your balance of trade. Importing everything and exporting nothing is not a sustainable economic model. Nigeria must start start producing instead of always consuming. Government at all levels must start an "autarky" policy. Self sufficiency must the most important policy of government. |
Appleyard:Even though I an an alternative energy afficionado, I tend to agree with you. Fossil fuel is going no where soon. Although solar and other energy sources will increase over time. I believe you should not abandon one for the other. Trump's main flaw was abandoning alternative energy sources and allowing China take over dominance in the sector. Biden will also make a mistake if he abandones or disinvests in fossil fuel. The most important use of fossil fuel is war. You cannot fight and win a war without fossil fuel. Modern Warfare is a very energy consuming enterprise and only petroleum can meet its demand. Germany lost WW2 principally because it ran out of fuel and had no fuel to run its war machines. |
400billionman:Eya... see mentally balanced person. Only a person who is not balanced worships a mere mortal like himself. |

Any body that tells you that is misleadingly prioritizing assumptions for reality. Yes, wind and solar are innovative energy solutions but are more like to mitigate the monopolistic effect of oil and gas and its chokehold in the energy sector; nothing more. They don't even come close to phasing out oil not to mention gas. It's laughable when people say that. If solar and wind energy are revolutionary like some wants you to believe, the United States won't have its military assets nudged at the asss of every major oil producing nation in the world. THINK.
