The Federal Government yesterday released a white paper on the Steve Oronsaye committee report on the Restructuring and Rationalization of Federal Government Parastatals and Commissions.

The report was submitted two years ago, with far reaching recommendations on the scrapping and merging of many government agencies, parastatals and commission.

I the white paper, some of the committee’s recommendations were accepted but a whole lot were rejected as well.

For instance, the FG in the white paper submitted by attorney – general Mohammed Adoke, accepted the scrapping of the National Poverty Eradication Programme (NAPEP) and the Fiscal Responsibility Commission (FRC) but rejected the call for government to stop the funding of religious pilgrimages.

The Nation newspaper says:

The document dated March, 2014 with 105 pages showed where the government accepted and rejected various recommendations on the scrapping, merger of 270 government agencies. Some of the agencies have been approved for commercialisation and privatization.

The Oronsaye report was submitted to government on 16th of April, 2012.

Evolution of biological life is similar to evolution of the electric car. The fist car was designed and made by Karl Benz, it was a primitive care with 3 wheels. Today after so many evolutions, we have thousands of models of cars, buses and trucks. Many have also gone extrinct because they could not survive the changing financial and social environment. The newest evolution are electric cars.
Now, because new benz are brought into the market today does not mean all older models will suddenly vanish, especially if they are still providing good service. That the 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA 250 is cruising the streets of Lagos will not make the 1979 benz disappear. In facts some people are still driving 1960s antique cars.

Our specie (Homo Sapiens ) is barely 200,000 years on this planet, the whole homo genus is about 2 million years and you are talking about an animal that existed 100 million years ago. They both existed in different time frames.

Back then, a 40yr old man was considered a very old man because the mortality rate was so high.

We are talking about 100million years ago and not 1000 years ago.

If not for the Chicxulub Event, human beings (Homo Sapiens) would not be the Apex predator that they are today.

The Chicxulub Event took place 65 million years ago, homo homo Sapiens are barely 200,000 years.
