My good man, is it not tenable that:

1. The crisis came to Nigeria later than the countries you mention in the west. Therefore, those countries having provided an example cannot be compared with Nigeria whom should have learned by the aforementioned example?

3. That like for like comparisons are not possible because one, those countries have a far higher inflow of traffic from affected spots; and second, because Nigerias testing capacity is far, far lower than that of other countries...so we may be thinking the crisis is lower here than it actually is. US made this error as well.

4. That there is an obvious cycle where the initial wave of cases seems manageable and then balloons.

Having said all this, I conclude by arguing, without making any comparison that Buhari mismanaged this situation by:

1. Leaving the borders open until a critical mass had become infected

2. Failing to beef up the NCDC capacity despite having showed initial foresight.

3. Failing to address the nation in a timely manner, leading to states having to take the lead

4. Failing to provide critical food supplies for the poor in areas under federal lock down.

Now all of this is underscored by this simple fact: Nigeria does not have the resources other nations have to effectively tackled this crisis. Therefore we ought to have taken extra care. All Mr. President had to do was to close the borders early enough.

So which country do you think took the kinds of measures you advocate to stem the inflow of the virus into their country? Which country do you suggest we emulate?

Nigeria cannot just shut his borders too early to all incoming traffic. Stopping flight from China did not work as Trump found out. The virus could come from any country, even before it reaches epidemic levels in that country. If Buhari stopped all flights to Nigeria the very week the outbreak started in Wuhan, the regular wailers would have wailed endlessly on how Nigeria did not close the borders during SARS in 2003.

The media cannot suppress anything. There are scientists that are specialised in the field, such as Micro biologists, virologists, epidemiologists, etc. They research claims and come out with their findings, which will help others in the medical profession cure their patients.

Coronavirus virus has a fatality rate of between 2 - 4%, so 4 out of 5 patients recovering is even above the fatality rate (assuming 1 out of every patient dies (that's an astounding 20% fatality rate). Most people that survived the coronavirus, did without taking any drug, except palliatives to alleviate symptoms and rest. So even if you take chloroquine, agbo, paracetamol or chalk, the fatality rate would not change from the traditional 2 - 4%. I even think chloroquine will worsen the fatality rate, due to adverse side effects of the drug, especially on people who had never taken it.

You are mixing up things, there's a difference between clinical trials on a drug that has already been approved for human consumption and one on a trial drug that hasn't been used by human beings. What's happening with chloroquine is not trial and error. These are qualified medical personnel putting their medical knowledge to use to help people and they have been very helpful in saving a lot of lives and up to date, they have not recorded a single case of a patient showing adverse reaction after they prescribed chloroquine to them.

Which doctor is reported to have prescribed chloroquine or quinine for a coronavirus? Since we have been having coronaviruses, no doctor had every prescribed chloroquine or hydroxychloroquine for its cure.

I have been taking chloroquine and sometimes Quinine all my life as I am very susceptible to malaria. Any doctor will tell you that Quinine should be taken with caution, as it causes heart pulpertations. It can be very dangerous for people with heart problem or hypertension. Even me with a very good heart with no hypertension, when my doctor puts me on quinine, he makes sure he monitors my heart beat and pressure closely, not to talk of people with weak hearts.

Trump and his supporters prescribing drugs they know nothing about will kill more people that would have died from coronavirus. Coronavirus itself if not that fatal, it's fatality rate is between 2 -4% (with the exception of Northern Italy where other factors caused a relatively higher fatality rate).
