PoliticsRe: Don’t Remove Defecting Govs, APC Warns PDP by wirinet(m):
chukwudi44: Bros please stop arguing with sentiments and face facts.wen the courts rule against tem go and stop them from removing them. Let us see.what they have done is unconstititutional.it dosent matter if PDp did so in the past.if other parties refused to challenge the PDP in court in the past then that is their own cup of tea.
Am I discussing with a mule? or does hatred render a person deaf and blind? Why don't you people do us a favour and quote relevant sections of the constitution that allows a political party to remove a validly elected governor?

I also hope your principal would allow the case be decided by the supreme court has had been done in all previous cases involving governors before sending the police and military in to enforce court judgements, and not move in like Jack Bauer immidiately ahigh court makes a promouncement they are in agreement with.

The case would be a no brainer at the supreme court.
PoliticsRe: Don’t Remove Defecting Govs, APC Warns PDP by wirinet(m): 12:19am On Dec 06, 2013
Bishop Magic: A supreme court ruling removed an elected Governor not based on the actual election outcome but the primaries leading up to it.
PDP will argue their case with the original supreme court ruling that favored Amechi which set aside party affiliation above Individual candidacy on the premise that before one can contest an election, one must be presented at the polls by a political party. In the case of Ameachi that party was the PDP. Now that Ameachi has moved over to the APC which neither fielded Ameachi or won any election in Rivers as a party, Ameachi will then be requested to vacate the office AND not ONLY HIM! If his deputy switched with him both will then be made to vacate the office and if the speaker is also not a PDP member he also will not occupy the office.
You are very wrong. The supreme court can never remove a validly elected governor. The powers of the courts stops at the elections and the processes leading to an election. Once a governors has been validly elected, only the state houses of assembly by way of impeachment, death, resignation or incapacitation can remove a governors.

What the supreme court determined in the Amaechi - Omeiha case was who the valid candidiate was pre election. It stated that the validly norminated governorship candidiate of PDP was Amaechi and Celestine Omeiha was not even a candidiate in the elections. It says that INEC and PDP illegally substituted Amaechi's name outside the terms and time allowed by the electorial act. So in effect Celestine Omehia was never governors of Rivers State. Same way the Appeal court determined Ngige, Oni, Oyinlola and Akala did not win elections but was illegally imposed by inec and pdp and so were never governors of their respective states.

The case now case of the defecting 5 governors is quite different. There is no dispute about the validity of their elections, so no court can remove them. If you are searching for an appropriate precedence, you should look at the Atiku - Obasanjo case. When Atiku defected to AC in 2006, OBJ and the PDP declared the vice president's seat vacant, but the same supreme court said it was null and void, and that a political party cannot declare an executive position vacant. Atiku remained an AC vice president in a PDP government and contested against the PDP in the presidential elections.

I am sure you do not know the implication of what you are asking the courts to do because of your blind hatred for Amaechi and opponents of President Jonathan. You are asking the courts to give political party leaders the powers to remove a governor. Imagine a party like ACN where Tinubu is lord, all he had to do to remove a governor not playing to his tune is to expel the governor from the party and voila, the seat becomes vacant for a more loyal person.

I honestly do not know why the OP is complaining about Obalende Ashewos. Are they hawking their services in go slow like gala and lacasera sellers thereby causing traffic? And how are they causing dirt on the streets, with condom packets.

Prostitution is the oldest profession in the world and still remain one of the biggest industry. Even ultra religious Saudi Arabia has a thriving se.x industry. All major cities in the world has a red light district. Go to Soho in london and you will see a well structured se.x district.

You should be advocating for a better structure for the se.x trade in order to provide protection for the girls, good medical protection for both girls and clients and good hygenic environment.

Some of those so called dirty postitutes have been able to hold down respectible men as husbands than some polished career women
PoliticsRe: Don’t Remove Defecting Govs, APC Warns PDP by wirinet(m): 4:34pm On Dec 05, 2013
chidexy: If a court declares their seat vacant, I don't see how that will be termed unconstitutional. If the other parties did not approach the court to declare the seats of the defecting Governors vacant, doesn't mean that PDP cannot in this case approach a court for redress (if they strongly feel that they have a case).

So quit threatening and ranting and challenge them in court
It is apparently unconstitutional to remove a governors other than that prescribed by the constitution. A desperate pdp can bribe a federal high court to declare their positions vacant, and immidiately the president would use the police to effect the kangaroo judgement, and ask the affected governors to go to court. Then the attorney general will use delay tactics until 2015. Even if the appeal court give a favourable judgement to the governors. the government will still fail to allow the governors resume by claiming that it is only after final judgement by the supreme court that they will abide by the court's decision.

We have seen this scerenio played out over and over again.

A good example is the Oyinlola case. A high court declared Oyinlola's seat as PDP secretary vacant and the very next day he was removed from office. now that he has won at the appeal court, they are using the police to stop him from resuming by claiming they are waiting for the supreme court to pass final judgement.

I hope Jonathan does not plan on using Nigerian armed forces to enforce illegality, it might have disasterous consequences.

mr inforesource, non of the links you provided is online. Since you said you have been making money installing premium wp theme sites for clients, it would have more helpful if we could actually see 1 or 2 working examples of sites you have built. But all the examples you give are offline. now why would a client pay $200 for a site and refuse to go online one full month after you upload and customize the theme? especially as you say most of your clients are desperate to have the sites.

The reason I want to see examples of your sites is because I want to see what you call premium wp themes, and how it is different from regular themes. I design websites using wp and I use free themes ( though I customize them to suit my purpose). Here is one I just finished worldstarinternational.net ( you can put the www).

Where do you get the premium themes and how much? also please provide one or two working websites you have done.

Capnd143: you are just showing how gullible and ignorant you can be! Open desert? Is it Maiduguri, potiskum or baga that is open desert? Have u ever been to the north or u just think the whole north is an open desert? This rag tag militias u are praising stage guerilla warfare and retreat to civilian population making them relatively hard to fish out! Incompetence you said? I guess america is more incompetent considering thd havnt defeated alqueada in decades of war! You are the incompetent one hear for not knwing anytin abt the war on terror and for politicizing the war on terror through you bizare partisan ideology and dragging the president into this!
I do not know what to call you people, illiterate, dishonest or compromised? Is maiduguri, potiskum or baga a dense forest area making it difficult to survey and attack Boko Haram from the air?
Do not play on sentiments, I never praised Boko Haram, what I am admonishing is the Nigerian military for gross incompetence. Small countries like kenya knows how to deal decisively with Al-shabab. Let al-shabab try and launch an insurgent attack on kenya and see whether kenya would not pursue them into the heartland of Sumalia.

You are still reinforcing what I said. Nigeria is supposed to have a Directorate of military intelligence, each division is supposed to have intelligence unit patrolling the borders, the airforce is supposed to fly sorties twice everyday to patrol our land and sea borders - even in peace time. If Boko Haram can still operate at will then it shows that all these units of Nigeria's security apparatus are just collecting salary for nothing.

Then please and please stop using the US as an example your skewed logic of comparing terrorists operating in foreign countries outside the US to an actual terrorist attack inside the US or worse still an insurgent attack on US. Any group that carries out an insurgent attack on US is commiting mass suicide. The country you should be comparing Nigeria to is Israel, where you have terrorist attacks ( mind you not insurgent attacks). And see how Israel deals with them.

I am not in any party and I do not support any party, I am not even blaming jonathan soley for the millitary fiasco going on. I only blame him for not being decisive early enough. I am blaming all past presidents - from Obasanjo to Jonathan for allowing terrorists, millitants and insurgents to grow and thrive because of political expediency and for not equiping our military for the challenges of security of the 21st century.

stevnwigw1: this region called north should get it into their thin skull, that they have lost power in the entity called one nigeria forever and ever in Jesus' Name. Amen.
Please quit that old worn out propaganda of "the northerners are using boko haram to fight an ijaw/igbo president". I know that is your campaign strategy for 2015, but if you are old enough, you will know that all previous governments from Martala till now have had to deal with insurgents one way or the other. While the military governments were able to deal decisively with them, successive civilian governments failed until it became an uncontrollable monster.

Wars are won not necessarily based only on superior fire power but also based on superior intelligence. What this article is implying is that the Boko guys have superior intelligence. Then what is the function of directorate of military intelligence? They should be very active along Nigeria borders, especially the north gathering information to prevent these kinds of attacks. What about the surveillance capability of our airforce? a functional airforce should run surveillance sorties along the borders at least twice a day.

We pride ourselves in being a military force in Africa and a rag tag militia is giving our whole military nightmares, in an open dessert for that matter. Shame

Tuesday in Benin launched an empowerment package for
widows in the state.
Mr Dan Orbih, the state Chairman of the party, said the
programme was designed to cushion the effect of Edo
government’s “harsh” policies on widows and the people.
He said the initiative became necessary because of the
actions and decisions of some public officials.
The PDP chairman donated N50,000, in addion to N1
million already raised for the programme in the state.
The money was presented to the Oredo women leader of
the party, Mrs. Pat West Erhabor, for disbursement to
more than 50 widows who were present at the event.
Erhabor also collected N250,000 on behalf of Mrs Joy
Ifijeh, the widow who was reprimanded for trading on walk

Meanwhile, Mr. Henry Omoregie, the Director,
Transformation Watch, a non-governmental organisation
based in Port-Harcourt, has raised over N2 million for
Ifijeh.
www.punchng.com/news/edo-pdp-launches-widows-empowerment-programme/
Too little too late. Edo PDP failed to use a unique opportunity presented by Oshiomole's gaffe to hit ACN in edo and in general. They had two whole days to make political harvest of the condemnation and anger against oshiomole and acn by nigerians in general, but they allowed oshiomole to reach the widow before them and Save face.

If this was the us or UK, the republicans or labour would have used the opportunity to the maximum to gain some political gains and the widow would be rich as the political parties and the press would be after her.

People have the right to survive. In a country with no welfare service whatsoever and the government is not concerned about unemployment, how do you want people to survive. Not everybody can take up militancy and terrorism as a career.

If as okupe said, there is nothing extraordinary about the 4 new demands by ASUU, then why is the government so annoyed? If it is just to sign what had already been agreed it by the attorney general and the inclusion of a universally accepted non victimization clause, then wherein lies the problem?

Husband a wife had a big fight? wife needed husbands help desperately, like she needed money badly. The billionaire husband screamed at her in public to " Go and Die. The wife later left for her family house to lick her wounds.

Now the church pastor paid a courtesy call on husband and husband told pastor that he regreted maltreating the wife and that he woke on the wrong side of the bed that day and he was angry.

Now can bye-standers go to town announcing that husband had apologised to his wife?

rexbuton: Many people attacking him have never been to benin city. During lucky igbinedion's regime, The state was dirty, corrupt, unruly and murderous. Igbinedion did not complete even one capital project on his own. Adams comes in, begins massive construction and rehabilitation of roads and structures. He constructed roads leading to those rural areas, even in the opposition held edo central.. When elections come What happens? These same edo central people massively vote pdp, just because they want their son to be governor.. All These development came at a cost... He banned roadside trading, illegal car parking, roadside touting and heavy taxation. The taxes are used to fund The constructions, since lucky and his pdp thugs left The state in penury. The people began to complain about tax, even When they could see development like street lights, double traffic lights on every major road, and benin has one of The largest number of roads and adjoining streets in The country.. The beautification of ring road and The linking roads was being undone by The same people he was working for. Bus drivers would reverse on top of kerbs and destroy The potted flowers, these stupid hawkers would hawk their wares and throw The garbage into The newly constructed drains, I even had to confront a woman who was disposing corn cobs into The drains.. The governor finally outlawed road side trading and car parking... If You go to ringroad as I speak, you'd still see these hawkers selling rice and foodstuff just by The road, is this right? Would You have prefered that The woman be locked up? These are The same people that Would come out tomorrow and vote pdp, just because of tribal issues.. Being a widow doesn't permit You to break laws. Oshiomhole also has his shortcomings, his traffic police have become more of a nuisance than The opposition party, he should put a leash on those goons. The man has tried, he also solved The perennial flooding by constructing a central water channel ' storm water project'... Did lucky do all these ? So When I see people come here to abuse a Good man, It hurts me.. Because we voted for him, we protested and rioted for him, we marched under The sun to attend tribunal sittings, some of us even died in The struggle! When I was still in The country, we saw his works and appreciated them, please do same. For those who do not know, oshiomhole is a widower ! ! Long live nigeria
Nominated for the most senseless post of the year.
Are you saying that it was widows and the poor street traders that was reponsible for igbinedion's inability to complete one capital project? or they were the ones responsible for the state being dirty, unruly amd murderous? Also is it their absence that was responsible for Osiomhole's ability to begin massive construction and rehabilitation of roads and structures?

Are you knowledgeable enough to know that the primary responsibility of a government - any government at all, is the welfare of its citizens? It is not necessarily about roads and structures but about the people. The welfare, comfort, health, etc of the citizens should be the sole purpose of Oshimhole's government. That is why government telling an indigene to go and die is a paradox.
It cannot happen anywhere else in the world and the government would not suffer repaccussions.

You are so ignorant of the dynamics of politics in Nigeria that i feel pity for you. You are behaving like an illiterate village igboman, arrogant in his ignorance. If you have ever gone anywhere near the south south, you will know that hardly any two neighbouring tribes agree with each other. There is always acrimony between itsekiris and ijaws, itsekiris and urhobo, ijaws and all other reverine tribes in the Nigerdelta, even ogonis and its neighbouring andonis are always fighting. What is keeping everybody in check is big brother Nigeria. Remove big brother and you will see chaos. So expecting a united Nigerdelta republic comprising og the Benis, ijaw, urhobos, itsekiris, ogonis, andonis, kalabaris, isokos is going to be pure chaos.

Tell me when has the igbo throughout history formed any kind of alliance with anybody? The arrogance among your people makes you feel so superior that you feel you cannot concede to anybody else in the spirit of give and take. The ijaws you people are aligning with today were your so called traitors during the civil war, because they did not support you.

So please tell me your allies - both nationally and internationally. Are you people waiting the chaos to commence before you start forming alliances?

Look at even your neighbours - the idomas, the ikas, the ishans, etc, and even the Cameroonians, which ones can you build alliances with?

Present day Nigeria is like ancient Greece, if it breaks into pieces, you can only survive by building alliances.

All you criticizing amaechi are just unreasonable cry babies. Amaechi riding the storm in pdp - you criticize him for staying, he leaves for another party - you cricify him for leaving. If you were amaechi, what will you do? Wait for jona and his hit men to disgrace you out of the party? Or go to abuja and prostrate before Jonathan and Patience to allow you govern in peace?

Patience and Jonah have already suspended amaechi and expelled some of his supporters, they have handed the party in the state to Wike, the police are holding him and his supporters, they have not allowed the state house of assembly to function, in is only a matter of time before he is expelled from pdp and somebody is criticizing him for jumping ship before he is pushed.

I said in before and i say it again, the single most important factor mitigating against jonathans second term ambition is Amaechi. And his alliance with the north and south west has made him a formidable opponent.
PoliticsRe: Should There Be Cross-migration If Nigeria Disintegrates? by wirinet(m): 6:53pm On Nov 27, 2013
If this country is to divide, it will not divide along north and south as imagined by the OP. The north from kwara is likely going to unite into once country, the south West are already united and so one country, the east though not so united would form their own country and the mosaic of tribes in the south south would form a very rancorous and divided nation with acrimonious fight for land and resources.

The north would be able to negotiate access to the sea with the south west, the igbos would find it difficult negotiating access to the sea from the riverine area of the south south because th igbo are not adept at negotiating with others and their superiority complex.

Now about cross migration every region should allow others a certain period to move all their movable assets and sell off their immovable assets and the move to their region. After complete separation, we should then adopt the Qatar model, whereby anybody wishing to migrate must have his visa processed by an employer in that region and also released by the same employer before he or she can go back. That would check uncontrolled cross migration which would bring us back to square one.
