sonmvayina: @correctguy101. My knowledge that the earth is round and not spherical comes from my observation of the natural world. I went to visit my old class mate it Australia in 2016, and through out the flight we never experience any nose dive or curvatures. you don't expect an ant on a basket ball to feel a curvature. The any will only observe curvature if he's several meters away from thr basket ball. If you want to see thr curvature, build your one satellites with cameras. Since you don't believe those giving by scientists. This can only happen on a flat surface. Secondly I have also wondered how water curves on a sphere. We usually say water level because the seas and ocean are level. gravity, I cannot be teaching a grown up how gravity works. It was taught in basic science. And lastly the bible says the earth is round with a firmament above the earth and water above it. ...making the earth a closed system...there earth is surrounded by ice walls and beyond the ice walls there are lands.... the bible is a fictional book, don't learn science and facts from the Bible No wonder a treaty was signed in 1957 that nobody should go to Antarctica. Because it is not a continent, it is the ice wall. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 You sound dumb here |

BennyDGreat: Owerri will definitely have standard hospital that befits its status.
My point here is simple. Owerri cannot have more standard hospitals than Ikeja. Duchess alone can be worth over 1m USD. How did you know since you have not been to owerri. You people should try and go out |

Politics › Ooni Of Ife And Pete Edochie. by Workch(op): 2:15am On May 27, 2023*. Modified: 2:36am On May 27, 2023 |
Let's try to understand ourselves, I know that bowing is a sign of respect in Yoruba culture but it doesn't mean much in Igbo culture.
It's understandable that you want Pete Edochie to respect your king exactly the same way you do it but that's insensitive. In Pete Edochie's culture, a feathered High chief cannot bow to anybody, not your Ooni, or Obi of Onitsha or even king Charles of England. Pete Edochie cannot descecrate his own custom and tradition just to make you happy.
The way Pete Edochie greated Ooni would have been exactly the same way he would have greated his own King. Chieves will never bow in Igboland to anybody except Chi.
How we can strike a balance is what I do not understand but Pete cannot bow to Ooni. It's a Taboo.
You might say that an Oba is higher than a chief, that's true in Yoruba culture but not true in Igbo culture. igbos are republican, but they have always had a leadership ensconced in “abridged or fettered” monarchy. Absolute monarchy has never had sufficient reign in Igboland. This is because of the presence of sacerdotal institutions of checks and balance. It's the reason why monarchs do not get as much reverence as they get in other parts of the country.
Pete Edochie didn't mean to disrespect Ooni, his culture does not permit him to bow to Ooni. Ooni is not a recognize monarchy in Igbo land, even if he is, Pete won't still bow to him. It doesn't mean that Pete does not respect his throne. |

Akalia: I beg to differ. I work in a multinational and I can loudly say to your hearing that I didn't know nobody to land the job. God came through for me.
In this life God moves in mysterious ways when he wants to bless a man, either he uses familiar people or total strangers. The latter is usually the case.
The OP is ascribing the glory due to God to another man. God used someone familiar to upgrade him, after all there are those who know connected people but yet they are still struggling. lol, no be everything be God. God people |

Primusinterpares: I celebrate with you on your winnings. But then let's call a spade spade. Do you really merit the job? Are you coming to add value to the company? Let's be sincere here. This is not different from nepotism. Same thing politicians do that we complain. Job seekers should not seek only big salaries and benefits. They should most importantly seek to add value to the company. I celebrate with you all the same I merit the job, my CV speaks. In this country, merit is not enough. The competition is stiff |
