Emusan: Thanks, But about the visitor's visa I don't have anybody over there, can you help me arrange a place to stay after gotten the visit visa? Please I will hold my cash for that because their hotel will be too expensive. I hate to say but you sound very desparate and ready to throw yourself on the first stranger who gives you an offer. This WILL lead to tears! You must take your time to plan and make things work.
For example you need to book a hotel or similar before you visit. This may be part of your travel package. You can tot think of turning up with N10 in your pocket to live and find a job. Most advice is to visit with about $1,000 to cover living, food and transport. (That is US Dollars not Nair! |

Bolade005: Please who knows anything about Troy University. I haven't been able to access their homepage, only their admission page has been opening. Please, Is TOEFL and the GRE compulsory to enter any US university for postgraduate courses? Which schools offer postgraduate courses at a lower fee below $20000? I know my questions must have been answered in previous posts but I'd appreciate if someone can respond to these questions. http://www.troy.edu/ If nothing else TOEFL and the GRE show the visa officer that you are a serious student. Without them you may not convince the vo that you are genuins. Shools that do not require TOEFL and the GRE are often lower grade and have problems with visas. |

Emusan: So can you quickly do us favour by giving us a clue on how to apply for a Job in Dubai? I mean any trusted site you know or a reliable agent please...Thanks. There is no simple "back door" to jobs. The best advice is to get a visitors visa and go on holiday to look around. There are very many agents who will take your money and give you nothing, or slave job. Read back through this section. |

Nd pls is there any site that can get me familiar with them?? Am currently working a visa with dubai taxi against March this year nd I want to get masef familiar with there rules, signs before I eventually start training in UAE... I av no knowledge of road rules in naija, many of us jst drive.. As in, ya kno wah am saying..... Anyone contemplating driving in Dubai, UAE an other arab countries should keep one rule in their mind at ALL times. Rule one Whatever happens, you are in the wrong and any Arab / local is right! Anything will be your fault, police will support locals over a foreigner every time. (and as a lack African everyone will pick on you!) You must respect their laws in their country. |

momoyama: ri
Are you Nigerian? If so, why put down your countrymen like that? I know very many rich Nigerians who spend more money shopping in the UK than 100 brits put together.
Universities in Britain are full of wealthy Nigerian students and almost all the Nigerians I met in the UK were people who were DEFINITELY NOT looking for work. They were often extremely rich. Don't believe all the stereotypes about Africans only being migrants etc. I have seen with my own eyes, having studied in the UK with too many Nigerian friends to count. Yes we ALL know of rich ogas stealing all the money from Nigeria! Is that anything to be proud of, or boast about. For you to support these thieves then YOU must be one of them. |

momoyama: But I am not talking about work visas. What is wrong with visa free travel for TOURISTS ? I am certain that most Nigerians who go to Britain go as tourists. Why make it hard for them? There is no problem restricting work visas. But there is an anti-African agenda that drives Britain and others to discriminate against travelers from almost all of sub-Saharan Africa. What UTTER rubbish! Most Nigerians visiting UK. are looking for a way to work and stay for some time. |

Joythah: Pls house... Went to vfs today to pick up my passport but alas it was not stamped. I applied for trv for short term studies(2 months) and i believed i had a rejection proof application(i read and re-read this thread several times). The reason given by the vo was purpose of visit. One striking thing was that my Sop, guarantors letter, sponsors letter, letter of intro from emminent personalities, accomodation booking, letter from school was not returned. Is this normal? My pals are suspecting foul play from vfs i.e vfs did'nt submit those docs. Is this possible? We are 3 in number going for the course and all of us have same complaints Another common reason for documents to be held is that the visa officer suspects that they are fake. |

It is very well known that South Africa does not want people (even students) from Nigeria or central Africa! They are hated both by the white population and the native black people. Nigerians are treated as scavengers trying to take jobs and money from locals. |

The biggest opponents to ANY succes of Nigeria are the corrupt politiciens who are too buisy lstealing all the money they can get their hands on. Nigeria has oil but the masses live in poverty because a few take all the procedes for their own pockets. Then what is left will be destroyed by thugs calling themselves moslims but in fact just being terrorist criminals. |

chikenjoku1yah: Please someone should help me i lost my international passport which will expire next year sept. in a public transport on my way to the village. Can i apply for a new one? If yes,, Pls what are the the requirements If you really have lost your passport why are you wasting time posting on here? By now it could be sold to criminals.
Report the loss to local police and get a note saying that you have reported it. (You may need to pay a little) Report the loss to passport centre quoting the details.
Then apply for a new one (you will have to pay!)
If you are genuine act quickly before it is used for fraud. |

Why set your sights so low only looking to Nigeria? Unless you "know someone" you will not get a good secure, well paid job in Nigeria. With a masters from a good university you can look for a job anywhere. Companies will come to your uni looking for people with good results to employ.
Go for masters in Uk at one of the schools you named and go forward into the wide world. |

Rohzeez: pls how can someone escape those officers.. If you have nothing to hide and are honest then you can walk with a clear concience. Immigration (all countries) are trained to look out for people acting in a devious manner.
So it's up to you to be honest and officers will not bother you. Walk with guilt in your heart and expect trouble! |

mukthar2000: please advice me about agent in gave my international passport to apply Egyptian visa for me, for the past 3years now I have not see my passport and the agent base in abuja y I was at Lagos and anytime I call him the we not pick my call plss what can I do ? 3 years and you have done nothing! You will not get your old one back now! Report passport lost, you will have to pay for a new one but that is the lesson that you learn for dealing with THIEF agent. If you are lucky then you will get new passport.
If you ARE NOT lucky the agent has sold your passport and identity to some other person. This happens a lot when people let others have their documents. Just hope that all goes well. You will only find out by re-applying for your passport. |

NixandaStores: @justwise Please I need your advice on how I can be sending Nigerian foodstuffs to the UK and if possible if you have contacts of restaurants or African shop that might be interested in buying from me. I believe some students over there can even tap into this business on a part time basis in order to make some profit for themselves. I just want to know if this can be possible any way. If you want to export food to the UK (or the EU) you must meet food standards. You may also need licences. Information here http://www.food.gov.uk/business-industry/imports/importers/thirdcountryfaq
You might get away with posting small parcels but everything is inspected on arrival in the UK. Sometimes by "sniffer dogs" looking for illegal goods. So you will not operate for long like that.
If UK buisnesses use no approved food stuff they face very large fines. |
