princetaiwo: I live in Canada, I married my wife in Nigeria, now she as the custody of our 3 children, She determines when and if I can see our children. I pay her child support every month which is not a problem to me because I will still spend the money on my children if we are all still living together. She takes all the child benefit(money) the government gives our children. She almost destroyed me here. I don't know my children day care. The truth is that she caught me..........and I apologized but the freedom, independence and money make most of Nigerian women to brake their Home and later live a lonely life. I NEVER slap or abuse my wife, that is what God use to save me. If I may ask, do you think I will ever think of marrying a Nigerian woman here in Canada or come to Nigeria to pick a woman? NEVER
NOT ALL WOMEN ARE LIKE THAT, THERE ARE LOT OF HOOD WOMEN, NO MATTER WHAT; THEY WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THEIR ROOT AND HOW THINGS ARE DONE Sorry, it's a sad experience! Happy to know you acknowledged that there are still good women around! |

As far as am concerned only one region benefited the most..
My concern is not even who got it but why cash and not transfer.. Cash means unauditable process..
And if you claim they are mostly the unbanked... Why not make account opening part of requirement for documentation before now..
Anyways according to United nation definition of poverty if your daily income is $1 and below you are poor.. The money never reach me. Please, what is NSIP own definition of poverty because this one by UN automatically puts almost all Nigerians into poverty. If one dollar a day runs to 30 dollars a month * N400= about N12000 a month. See a family where the wife earns N40000 and the husband earns N50000 and they have three children, their total income = N90000. Will this family be classified as poor household? |

Thanks, OP. I had to finish reading this story once I started it because it was so real! so many lessons to learn from it. What has made the OP to be alive for us to read this story is the hope given to him by some of us on this platform so I took one thing away- about asking for help or assistance- what many of us derogatorily refer to as "begging"- as not a very easy thing to do. A thread was here yesterday castigating those who beg, asking why it seems Nigerians beg a lot- you don't know what the person had gone through before resorting to asking for help from unknown persons. I have been pushed to ask for help myself and knowing the psychological trauma I have had to undergo at times for days before making the move to ask has taught me not to judge anybody who asks for assistance from me- as I may be the last hope the person has. OP, it is well with you. For all of us, let us not leave God out of the journey of our lives because His thoughts for us are always good NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS! Jesus instructed that whosoever ask anything from us, we should give- we all have something GOOD to give a person in need. |

I already said something like what this Man is saying in one thread some days ago and people attacked me except some few sensible ones. I stated my reasons why 5G is harmful. Instead of these people to go make their own findings too, they'll rather resort to insults like Garage thugs... 5G isn't Coronavirus neither is it the cause of Coronavirus, but Coronavirus was created for a purpose separately and it just never started by itself. 5G has it's own harm and most people are thinking Coronavirus is what is responsible for the harm most of the time... I wouldn't say much now. I'm just glad some elites and more exposed people are also coming out gradually to expose the motive behind 5G. I wouldn't argue anything with anyone anymore, I believe more truth will be unveiled in the next few days or weeks.
Mind you, i am a lover of Technology and i have been anticipating 5G as well because i use internet a lot and i love fast internet service. But there's more to this 5G than people know yet. |

maasoap: Shaking my head at your ignorance. You don't just go to unknown website to read crap. 5G in telecoms is about electromagnetic radio waves, it has nothing to do with radiation in any way. Radiation are from the radioactive materials like polonium, uranium and other radioactive elements. Educate yourself now. Sunrays and x-ray imaging are thousand times more dangerous to your skin and cells than the harmless 5G radio waves Sadly, you seem to be the ignorant one because I have had a personal experience with someone who had to be hospitalised for complications resulting from radiation connected to a telecom mast close to their house! After being discharged she had to be going to the hospital for treatment. |

The fact is that the lockdown is not the best option! Many countries did not have to lock down before coronavirus went down there. The important thing is physical distance and limitation of crowds coming together. I saw on Aljazeera this morning, Britons coming out in droves to welcome the sun and receive warmth despite the scourge there. Everyone is encouraged to at least wear face mask simple. DO WE REALLY HAVE THE CAPACITY TO MITIGATE THE EFFECTS OF THIS LOCKDOWN ON THE SOCIETY? ARMED ROBBERY HAS INCREASED IN MANY AREAS, THE NIGERIAN SOCIETY/ECONOMY HAS BEEN REDUCED TO SUPPRESS AND REGRESS THE MAJORITY- RELIGION IS THE ONLY SUCCOUR & HOPE MANY NIGERIANS HAVE MADE RECOURSE TO SINCE TIME IMMEMORIAL WHEN POLITICIANS HAVE FAILED WOEFULLY TO MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR THE PEOPLE WHILE THEY STEAL AND AMASS WEALTH TO DEVELOP OTHER COUNTRIES! Politics › How Covid-19 Exposed The Vanity Of Man's Pride by writeprof(op): 4:47pm On Apr 04, 2020 |
Today, the world is at a standstill, alarmed and perturbed by the devastating effects of the novel coronavirus, some people have been forced to be introspective and look into what hitherto were their priorities. Who could imagine a world without Champions League and other football matches! Who would think of seemingly powerful and weak political leaders falling prey to a disease that seems to have started with the global citizens- elites. But we see that coronavirus knows no social status as it rampages the high, mighty and the low globally. As I watched the increasing number of corpses in different countries pile up in response to COVID-19 devastation, I ask myself if I am learning any lessons from all of these. The ephemeral nature of man’s pride- his life- and (non) achievements, the pride in living for one’s self. I ask myself if my fellow citizens are learning anything from this situation, the ruled and the ruler, the led and the leader. Some people seem to be learning lessons in ‘love’ being that which they can do to make life better for others around them especially when they know that they are far more comfortable than many around them. The mighty and powerful have been giving up their prized property and buildings to be used by government. I see this as commendable even as I wait to see others with similar property especially the many unoccupied estates in Abuja, hand them over to the government. Some of our billionaires and millionaires have come together to bring their donations into a fund geared towards efforts at handling the situations surrounding COVID-19 and its effects on Nigeria. Corporate organisations have also made their contributions even though we heard some of them sacked some members of their staff as new year present in January before declaring stupendous profits. The scramble to provide sanitisers, face masks, and hand-washing detergents by individuals and (non)corporate organisations reveal that humanity which should be the primacy of man’s primary existence has long be thrown away to an ugly selfish-based acquisitive mindset which does not interrogate the transient nature of man, his pride and all things. So, what is man’s pride that has been rubbished by COVID-19? Glorying in wealth and self-glorification that befuddles the mind of ‘civilisations’ especially in the areas of politics where politicians are supposed to be trusted representatives of their people in providing governance by prudent management of the nation’s resources in creating a better society for their people. Instead what do we see? Politicians, while not all of them, sadly these group is in the majority, taking pride in pauperising their constituencies, traumatising them socially, physically and psychologically by their (in)actions. It’s also vain for a helpless populace to revel in the tragedy of its absconding leaders as the law of karma. COVID-19 has come to teach us all that harbingers of death such as sickness and disease is a leveler that brings every man back to his creator in a box- no matter the designs- or in a mat- no matter how expensive it looks back into the earth from which he came from with absolutely NOTHING! COVID-19 tells us we are powerless without one another! |

U can be proud of Nigeria, I’m proud of Nigeria too. But let’s not base it on a lie. All evidence is that Wuhan virus does not transmit in warmer areas. Even in Italy almost all the cases are in the cold northern regions (see below). Countries have long banned flights from, or automatic quarantine for all high-incidence areas (see below - travel bans in US in February!). Nigeria has done none of that to date. With this attitude just think what would have happened if our weather were cold! By the way our rainy season is not cold. Nigeria never gets cold the way we’re talking about. As a Nigerian you should know that almost every home has a drum for water in case power fails for days and water cannot be pumped to the tank or in case the pumping machine gets faulty there may be no water or like we have now, when the weather is so dry that there may be no water in the well to be pumped to the tank especially for those without borehole. |
