Stopping is not the best option. Do what you need to do to graduate. Since you did well in 100 and 200 levels, then you have the ability to pass those courses if you put your mind to it. And make effort to pass them and come out with a grade you'll be proud of tomorrow. Shalom!

If I felt any sense of loss at all, the morning after, it was in fact, the shocking report of the death of Pius Adesanmi, Professor of English and African Studies at Carleton University, Canada, in the ill-fated Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft that crashed a few minutes after taking off from Bole International Airport in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Pius was a member of our community, and he was one of the best and the brightest. He wielded a sparkling, lyrical and polemical pen which he deployed with the ease and confidence of a well-cultured intellectual. I was his fan. I enjoyed reading him because it was not difficult to see that his talent was original and that his intellect was solid and that the respect and admiration that he enjoyed was well deserved. He criticized me on many occasions but he was that kind of critic that left enough room for your dignity. I read many of his comments on my choices and interventions without feeling diminished. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do flowers wither? Why Claude Ake? Why Pius Adesanmi? Ethiopian Airline has the best and the largest fleet in Africa. And now this… But who are we to question the Master Builder, the Great Architect Of The Universe who in one breath creates and in another breath, astounds us with the unexpected? Pius Adesanmi made his mark. If he were here, he would have had a lot more to say about the just concluded Nigerian elections. He was a significant public affairs commentator and a credible voice on all platforms. He was right: Nigeria remains, as he put it, “a nation in progress.” His death is a sad loss to the intellectual community.

247naijamedia:
As the final collation of results across the local governments is ongoing, the Oyo state chapter of the ruling All Progressive Congress has submitted a petition against the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate Seyi Makinde to the electoral umpire, Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The APC petition accused Makinde of what it described as “breach of electoral laws” and thereby demanded for his immediate arrest and prosecution.

The petition addressed to the Oyo State Resident Electoral Commissioner and entitled “Petition Against Engr. Seyi Makinde on Electoral offences committed in breach of electoral laws “, was submitted to the Agodi office of the commission on Sunday.

According to the petition, Makinde was accused of releasing a video in the early hours of Sunday where the PDP candidate “pointedly proclaimed himself winner of the governorship election in Oyo state when INEC, the authorised umpire has not concluded same nor declared any such results.”

The petition signed by the APC state secretary, Mr. Mojeed Olaoya, said Makinde by the action is clearly inciting the citizenry against an eventual credible outcome of the elections.

[quote author=Nodogragra4me post=76528002]No doubt the actions have the blessings of the Presidency but you see, there ought to be a limit to which a man can be supported... From what is happening in Rivers it is obvious Amaechi has no support base anywhere in the state including his own locality hence the state wide siege and persecution of the innocent citizens of the state

We're saying the same thing. However, until opinion leaders, traditional leaders, politicians, religious leaders and business leaders in/from Rivers state raise their voices against this siege nothing may happen to end it.

Kano Governorship Election: Tension as Armed Soldiers Take Over Security Around Kano INEC Headquarters (Video)

Security has been beefed up around the Kano State Headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission as collation and return of results of Saturday’s governorship elections from the 44 local government areas of the state begins.

Twitter user who shared a video from Kano says "Police, Army etc firing teargas and chasing people away from INEC collation centers in Kano."

Watch video HERE
In all of this, how many lives have been lost in Kano? None that I've heard of. Yet it's loss of lives- both innocent & guilty- in the South. The Hausa-Fulani Northern politicians are still more advanced in this politics thing and concerned about their people than the Southern politicians.

It's a tragic situation indeed! Which President? Without the approval of the Presidency, the GOC cannot send soldiers out to molest citizens. Sadly, all these bloodletting in Rivers State are for SELFISH reasons.

I remember 2004 when this guy was a top political thug in Abeokuta. His name was on everyone’s lip as he was on a killing spree during Gbenga Daniel’s regime. He left for Oyo during the end of OGD’s regime and he won a sit in the house of rep.
He who kill by the sword will surely die by the sword. I feel no pity for him. Thue!

Dear HIRING Manager, when you INTERVIEW a candidate - Remember these 5 things:

1. Respect is a two-way street. Please respect candidates time and don’t keep them waiting.
2. If you know a candidate is not what you want, stop wasting their time with multiple interviews and tests.
3. Candidates invest so much time & effort, and even finances into preparing for interviews. At least read their resume and come to the interview prepared.
4. Once a candidate gives of their time to be interviewed. They deserve feedback. Stop leaving candidates hanging. Grant them closure.
5. Treat candidates as you would like to be treated. Don't judge a book by its cover. Life is unpredictable. The person you reject today, you may need their help tomorrow.

It annoys me at the lack of respect and empathy, some recruiters and hiring managers show to jobseekers. It's time we make the recruiting process more humane!

#HumanResources #Management
Good advice! TRhe government should make it mandatory for potential employers to pay a specific amount for transport farew to shortlisted applicants as this may discourage some of the 'wicked' attitude of shortlisting 1000 persons for 10 vacant positions.

RUSSIAN PRESIDENT, Vladimir Putin Says: Africa Is A Cemetery For Africans
"When an African becomes rich, his bank accounts are in Switzerland. He travels to France for Medical treatment.
He invests in Germany. He buys from Dubai. He consumes Chinese. He prays in Rome or Mecca. His children study in Europe. He travels to Canada, USA, Europe for tourism.
If he die, he will be buried in his native country of Africa.
Africa is just a cemetery for Africans. How could a cemetery be developed?"
~Putin Asks!
Africa the birthplace of civilisation was made this way by Putin and his fellow racist colonialists!

It is high time First Bank did something about this! A hundred and Eight Thousand Naira (108,000) was withdrawn from my First Bank account in September. The account in question had an expired card and a new one had not been collected in its stead. When I complained at a branch closest to me, I was told it was impossible to withdraw without my consent.

First Bank staff are fraud!
In a case like this, you get a lawyer to take them to court, their fear of embarrassment will bring out your money.
