I know the kind of estate i'll see and i'd be excited. All these i'm seeing is just more of the same mediocre, unserviced estates of which there are many all over the SE. Only a few estates in Nigeria meet world-class standards, and they're mainly found in Lagos, Abuja and maybe Port Harcourt! With the MOUs signed by Obiano, was hoping to see some in Anambra as well. Anyway, fingers are still crossed as those ones are work in progress....even if they seem to be taking forever to deliver. |
muykem:Listen, there's no body of people that would be put through what our youth have been put through and not have issues! Given the circumstances, i'd even argue the Nigerian youth has tried, holding their heads above the water the way they have. Their major problem has been the so called adults/leaders we've had since independence, of which Buhari is among and a major participant. |
Afam4eva:Exactly! Especially if you win a gold medal. I'd probably have done the same if i was in their shoes |
mrintellectual:The question of what we do was tackled in my initial post. The key thing is to put pressure on these bloody, nuisance 'owners of Nigeria' by supporting IPOB. As much as i personally hate Nigeria, i'm sure people of my leaning are ready to accept a middle-ground of resetting the polity to pre-66 settings (of course with some modifications to reflect present day geo-political realities). Notice how they were panicking and there was talk of restructuring when Mazi Kanu held their feet to the fire. They only feel strong knowing the rest of us can't speak with one voice because of saboteurs and judases among us who are quite prepared to sell their mama just to protect the privileged positions the present status-quo accords on them. |
Serves una 'one Nigeria' mofos right! We know the right thing to do that could reset the Nigerian polity back to pre 1966 settings, but we bury our heads in the sand hoping our problems will go away through fasting and prayer, thereby enabling us to compete with the likes of Singapore, South korea and Japan....countries we were either better than in 1960, or neck-and-neck with in development. The Nigeria negotiated by Zik, Awo and the Sadauna in 1960 was the barest minimum sensible 'one Nigerianists' could have offered Mazi Kanu (and i'm sure he could have been convinced to accept this offer by Ndigbo), but instead you cheered on as the Fulani military invaded his home and murdered him and his parents. As things stand now, you all have no choice but to bend over and get royally shafted by these towel heads as they play you moro'ns against each other! |
They don't call him the commonsense senator for nothing. After seeing what happened in the Rivers State house of assembly some years back when some hapless honourable ended up in A&E after his head was bashed in by a mace wielding thug, Senator Bruce must have felt it wise not to interfere this time around. He doesn't want too ruin his good looks. Good call! |
tobida:Don't mind the idiot! Anybody that wants to get a mention in the dailies finds it convenient to just say a few lies against Ndigbo and he'd be cheered on by the usual hate mob that despise, suspect and fear Ndigbo in equal measure. So if they ask Mr Momoh if he feels Ndigbo of today have equal standing in the Nigerian Army with say the Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba he'd say yes? If they ask him if the SE is treated as fairly as other region in the country he'd say yes? So going to meet one chancer of a traditional ruler who demanded money from him to vote for whoever now means that Ndigbo vote for the highest bidder? Did Ndigbo elect said traditional ruler to speak for us? I suppose he feels that if a few traditional rulers of Igbo extraction are bribed then Ndigbo will troop out in their numbers and vote for whomsoever they're directed to vote for....even APC! |
muykem:That rules Buhari out then! ![]() |
I'm sure a large proportion of Nigerians arrested abroad are victims of a set up. If the victim were Igbo, and the wicked policeman succeeded in planting the gun, and going on to either arrest or shoot him dead, you can imagine the kind of responses the story would receive on this forum. |
asha80:It's a problem we have with governance and politics in Nigeria as a whole....especially in the oil rich Niger Delta states. If the Governor doesn't share money, then he's got to be a greedy, stingy muthafucker that wants to chop alone! This is why some Governors are forced to play along and share money directly, or under the guise of providing expensive cars for greedy local Chiefs, or under the guise of providing funds for community projects. |
spyder880:This road had better be unfinished oh! I don't know why there's little attempt to make projects (especially roads) look pleasing to the eye after construction. All most Governors are concerned about is just to tick the box that says they've provided road in an area no matter how ugly or substandard the road looks, so they can brag that they've delivered 'dividends of democracy'! |
bolluntin:Where in my post did i state there was traffic congestion before the flyover was constructed? |
Any reason why we don't have Abia and Ebonyi threads like we have for Imo, Enugu and Anambra? It's like the citizens of these states don't care much for showcasing their states and challenging their state gov'ts where and when necessary like the other three do. |
Onijagidijagan:It's because you're looking at him with your ewedu eyes. The rest of us see a goodlooking young man happily making his millions. ![]() |
Paperwhite:This is why Nigeria isn't progressing. Other serious countries are making giant strides in technology, churning out multi billion dollars tech industries and lifting more and more of their citizens out of poverty; and then there's us, Nigeria, a country where some don't mind to scatter everything if their precious arabic inscription is not returned back to the 100 naira bill where they feel it rightly belongs! Nice to see we've got our priorities in order. |
universe123:Ignore him. Are those nice hotels actually in Nsukka? |
Igboid:You didn't include my boy Tekno! ![]() |
Igboid:I understand their game plan very well. There are certain monikers, when i see their post i just scroll down to the next, not bothering to read it. Some of them toerags (that's if it's not just one or two people operating all these monikers) may understand a bit of Igbo but they're definitely not Igbo. When someone is seen engaging them in a back-and-forth argument, and derailing the thread in the process, better believe such a 'person' is probably one of their alternate monikers. Why do they do it i hear you ask? Well, you have to understand that the hatred towards Ndigbo in Nigeria is real, and Igbo unity and progress scares the h'ell out of them, hence they go out of their way to try and cause divisions among us....it's all in a bid to protect their ATM that is 'one Nigeria'. Some of us are either too dumb, too greedy or just don't care about the the progress and unity of Ndigbo; and it's such a people that are our weakest link, and easily susceptible to being bribed to either keep quiet when injustice is meted out on us, or they can easily be bought to help the enemies machinations against us. Ever wondered why it was so easy for Buhari and his Fulani army to come into the heart of Igboland and murder/kidnap one of our prominent sons and his parents, and equally kill many other of our kinsfolk without anything happening? |
kinibigdeal:He's caught between a rock and a hard place with these people...most likely sulking APC members. Nice one Fayose! The flyover looks sexy, and will help improve traffic flow in the area, not to mention the skyline of Ado-Ekiti! |
achi4u:I've noticed there's this penchant among our political elite in the SE to closely guard their spheres of influence on a state level, hence they're reluctant to delegate or relinquish any powers to say a centrally-focused and pan-Igbo development agency. When you hear of this their so called SE governors meeting, it's just to play to the gallery as it were....basically, just to fulfill all righteousness. Nothing tangible ever comes out of these useless meetings! |
Turantula:The guy is quite brilliant! |
Alariiwo:But of course you would say that wouldn't you? ![]() You see the likes of Dr Kingsley Muoghalu equally in the running, an erudite and accomplished individual, yet you completely blank him b'cos he doesn't fit into your criteria of who should or shouldn't be allowed to be President of Nigeria. Nice one! ![]() |
Westbestside:Dude, nobody is pained. In fact, i personally hope it comes to fruition as it would hopefully spur the visionless South East Governors to think of a similar thing with AIIA Enugu. What Ndigbo like myself hate is the duplicitous nature of some of you from that region! The South West Governors asking to be concessioned the Murtala Airport amounts to putting the cart before the horse don't you think? You want to eat your cake and still have it! The right thing to do would be to first restructure the polity let everyone control their resources and answer their papa name, and then you can do whatever you like with anything in your own region! |
Afam4eva:Part of the reason is the dearth in bold and visionary leadership in the South East. And when our Governors do have bold ideas, it either normally ends up on the drawing board or if executed at all, the finishing is poor b'cos they don't use a good contractor or spend enough money to guarantee a good job. Governors like Rochas seems to have a good vision.....for Owerri at least, but i've noticed the finishing and quality of many (not all) of the contracts delivered aren't up to world-class standards! Though in fairness to Rochas, he seems to have improved on the quality of jobs delivered lately. I'm impressed with what Dave Umahi is doing thus far in Ebonyi. He's another Governor with a grand vision for his state, and he's delivering on it satisfactorily....thus far that is! The major reason why states in the SE struggle to initiate and deliver on big ticket projects is b'cos of the poor amounts we receive from Abuja in relation to other states like Kano. Also, there seems to be a lot of leakage in IGR collection for states in the SE: a state like Anambra for instance should be posting nothing less than 4 billion naira a month as IGR, ditto Abia. But presently both states are doing less than a half of this. I reckon what Anambra has lost through ineffective and inefficient revenue collection techniques since 1999 is over a billion dollars. As much as i don't like him, i'll have to admit that the present Abia Governor is doing something regarding the roads in Aba. And i've been impressed by the quality of job done as well. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and it takes a lot to impress me esp' when it comes to governance in the SE! |
nwaanambra1:And to think they're now trying to woo Igbo voters to support that hitler for a second term! It's not them i blame, i blame the gullible Igbo scum in that evil party that are giving their efforts some semblance of legitimacy. The situation is even more dire when you recollect how this man has treated us like 'inconsequential scum'! If indeed Ohaneze and the SE governors are aware that Buhari has murdered Nnamdi Kanu, and they're keeping quiet about it to protect their privileged positions, then nothing short of an insurrection is needed to get rid of the traitors, saboteurs and Judases within! |
ameh99:Why so happy? Some nonentity (most likely paid by the same forces holding us all hostage in 'one Nigeria') comes out of nowhere and declares that Biafra is dead, and you get so excited about it! Did those who contributed and still contribute to the Biafran cause ask for your opinion on the matter? Since when did what they do with their hard earned money become any of your business? Do deceitful peeps like you feel you can hold a people down forever and not expect them to fight back? |
To be frank PMB is free from pretence Lalasticlala
Etu ? ![]() |
Abagworo:You're standing on thin ice mate! Why not enjoy the pics/video and leave South East out of you dic'k measuring assessment? |
Doublecheck:Those likes were probably from non Igbos quite happy to see the bickering between supposed brothers. They love to see divisions among us. |
prolog2:What a cop out! ![]() |
kolaaderin:So in your mind the agitation for Biafra started after your man Buhari was elected? I can tell you for nothing that Buharis' bigotry, blood-stained hands, nepotism and blatant incompetence won more souls to the Biafran cause, your truly inclusive. |
prolog2:1- Oyo Empire 2- Sokoto Caliphate
