My problem is that what other countries would eventually overcome due to discipline, awareness and care for your neighbours....in Nigeria, it would be a bit more difficult and possibly drawn out for longer because of ignorance, superstition, illiteracy and the fact that we dey too stubborn, greedy, self-centred and we just no dey hear word! A neighbouring country like Ghana is more disciplined than us....whether you wanna hear it or not! |
nakaman:Yes! |
Good proactive measures! |
OP, did you make any attempt to try and advice them, or complain to the bank manager so they could do it? This sensitisation ought to have been the job and major priority of the useless state and federal gov’ts! |
onlinetrader:It boggles the mind how Atikus’ son felt it was ok to go around shaking hands with people after returning from a trip to the UK! And didn’t the silly governor have enough sense to know this isn’t the season for body contact of any sort? |
Ogegeodey:Fed gov’t first needs to place an order! |
Gabbriell:The rule should have been any Nigerian returning should be in an enforced quarantine for at least two weeks....whether they like it or not! But because it involved the elite and their families, this wasn’t the case. The likes of Kyari and Atikus’ son were allowed to return and walk about freely! Now see where we are today! |
Opiletool:They should have closed the borders like two weeks ago! I suspect they didn’t because Kyari and other thieving, useless members of the elite, ruling gov’t and their spouses/children were yet to return to Nigeria....with their corona infested bodies! |
horsepower102:Abakaliki on the rise! In this day and age of drone-shots can’t the state or local gov’t put in more effort into landscaping public areas....and tell private property owners (esp’ corporate) to do likewise!? That pic of the multi-lane expressway would have looked perfect but for the isolated patches of unkempt bare earth showing here and there! Also, i’m still not seeing any concerted effort at planting lots of trees! |
raker300:Looks like a Tower of Babel of some sort! ![]() |
Mr Projects! ![]() |
Had to quickly check today is not April 1st! ![]() |
Lostz:Don't mind him! Someone just died, and all he can think of is his devilish apc taking over the position! ![]() |
molybdenum0012:What medication? If you have the sympthoms (coughing, fever, laboured breathing) then just take paracetamol and self-isolate in your flat/house/room for two weeks. Get friends or relations to do your shopping or cook, and don't share utensils or toileteries with anyone for the duration of the quarantine. If you're emp;oyed then just phone your boss to inform them. Only call emergency number if the sympthoms get worse and you have difficulty breathing, but that shouldn't be the case if you don't have underlying health issues or you're not elderly. You should be good as new after two weeks maximum. Simple. |
wirinet:I don't expect an unrepentant 'one Nigerianist' and Igbo hater to see any merit in my assertion! Your anger apparently stems from the fact i dared mention some Yoruba in the same breath as Mazi kanu and IPOB! On what basis are you asserting they're more intelligent, braver and better educated than Mazi Kanu? Did you carry out any tests to arrive at this conclusion....or is posession of academic certificate the only basis for you saying Mazi Kanu can never be paired with the aforementioned Yoruba on any stand, issue or grouping? If the Yoruba you mentioned are so much better accomplished than Mazi Kanu, care to point out how.....in practical terms? I mean, how their agitations and stand on national issues propelled your 'one Nigeria' to the position that would be preferable to secession? Not that i owe you any explanation or apology over my stand, but my grouping of the aforementioned into one bracket was based on my belief they didn't bury their heads in the sand in the naive belief that all is hunky-dory with your 'one Nigeria' and that the status-quo doesn't need to change! Of course i know there's a difference in approach and desired outcome between Mazi Kanu and the rest, but nevertheless, its their activism for some sort of change that was being acknowledged! My post wasn't interested in analysing their individual credentials for canonization as nobody holy pass! Mazi Kanu makes no claim to being a diplomat, and given the leviathan he and IPOB are up against (my initial post listed those either championing it or enabling/tacitly supporting it).......one can excuse his occassional outbursts for which he has already apologised! Far much wose has been said and done to the Igbo nation, yet we've been told to 'move on', so give it a rest! |
Besides the envisaged problem arising from overcrowed accomodation in urban areas, another issue just as worrying and which can equally serve as a catalyst for the rapid spread of the virus is the absence or lack of adequate running water and soap in living accomodations, motor parks and markets. I think gov'ts, corporate entities and high networth individuals should sponsor the provision of water tankers in markets, motor parks and high-density neighbourhoods for at least the next two months, so people can easily wash their hands regularly. |
Ishilove:Saw a YouTube clip yesterday of some idiot sneezing in the bus in Owerri without catching his sneeze safely! The other passengers had a go at the fool, but he was busy shouting back and claiming he has the right to sneeze if he wants to! Also saw a news report yesterday on Channels about this COVID thing...they were showing a shot of a busy bus stop or park. Not only were the buses packed like sardines, but i also saw one fool hugging another guy like they were boyfriend and girlfriend! Apparently the guy hasn’t heard of the need for social distancing! I believe up to 2,000 people would have been infected by now! Mainly due to ignorance and stupidity! Surely by now everyone has heard of COVID-19 and the need to keep your distance from others and clean your hands regularly! |
Commendable initiative! |
Agonising over what happened more than a century ago, without getting off your ass or the fence to effect the necessary changes, would see our children and grandchildren inherit the hell we’re living today! Fact of the matter is there are presently three groups of actors in this unfolding nightmare that is ‘one Nigeria’: 1) those who’re enjoying or comfortable with the statut-quo and are prepared to spill blood to preserve it. This group is championed by the Hausa-Fulani. 2) those who know things are wrong and have to change, but don’t have the interest (for whatever reason) or the balls to get off the fence and effect a *change (*secession from the core muslim north) no matter the cost! This group is championed by the Yoruba and thieving/greedy elite of other ethnicities in the south (including the Igbo)! 3) and those who recognise the need for a *change and are doing something about it...even on pain of death! This group is championed by the Igbo. Honourable mention goes to the likes of Mazi Kanu, IPOB, Sowore, Soyinka, Fela and Fawehinmi! |
christejames:You know some of their major constructions? |
hammerT:Exactly! I think it should be postponed till things normalise! |
Could be he took a test to confirm whether he has it. |
GamalNasser:Don't mind them! Either consciously or subconsciously, they're envisioning such a 'tough personality' to come from a region/religion they're 'comfortable' with! Would they support and cooperate with such a person if he was a 'nyamuree/okoro' christian from the south-east, or would they be up in arms and try to give a dog a bad name to hang it? |
Awww....so cute! ![]() |
WATCHOVER:Hehehehe ![]() You must have ‘Ibos’ confused with your murderous, bigoted, thieving and power-hungry lot! ![]() |
Don’t know about ‘deceiving’, but i do know all this rubbish was caused by their weird and insatiable appetite for bats, dogs, snakes, and just about anything with a pulse, therefore the rest of the world needs to demand at least $1 trillion from their huge reserves as restitution for causing this nonsense....and not alerting the rest of the world on time! |
Hope it’s not the COVID thing that took him! 81 is not that old...especially for a someone with the means to afford the best healthcare! |
