Single Applicant Ottawa Visa Office
Background So my eldest brother got his PR at the end of 2017 and advised me to begin the process. I used the CRS calculator and my points weren't looking very good as I only had a few months of post NYSC work experience. I had just started a new job after some months of unemployment. He alongside my mum continued to persuade me to begin the process referencing my pre NYSC and NYSC experience. I researched the Australian immigration process and it looked bleak for me. I later joined this thread and researched a bit on the work experience issue and confirmed that my NYSC experience could be used. After some more research from the cic website and canadavisa.com, I also confirmed that the pre NYSC experience was also valid for the process. Though I was skeptical of the possibility of getting the work references, I decided to start the process.
ECA - WES I paid for my WES evaluation at the beginning of may 2018 (Used WES because my brother used same). Sent my statement of result to WES using hellofax and paid for the transcript from my school. Lots of challenges here. After over two months my transcript hadn't been acknowledged by WES. While searching for solutions I got someone's number here and decided to give him trial. Needless to say he was God sent. Within a month my transcript had gotten to WES. They then sent the verification letter which became the next battle. Contacted him again for the verification. This time the story was different however. Different stories came up from the school and almost 3 months went by. Cutting the long story short, my school eventually verified the results to WES early in December and it turned out to be in my favour as my months of experience were increasing. The ECA proceeded and I got my evaluation on the 18th of December 2018.
IELTS - BC After paying for WES, the next step was IELTS. I booked on the mainland with British Council (Didn't know about MOD till much later) for June 2nd 2018. Had about 3 weeks to prepare. Traffic was really pervasive at the time and work didn't give much room either. I got tips from a friend on the general overview of the exam. I prepared for listening with a random site I found as well as the main British Council Ielts website. I studied speaking with ieltsliz.com, also practiced answering the questions with my mom as the examiner . For writing, I used the training on the British Council ielts site. Finally for reading, I watched a video my friend gave me where the lady advised not to read the passages but to go straight to the questions and try picking out the answers. In all honesty, the preparation was quite shabby. Whenever my brother saw me playing video games he would sound a warning of how people prepare hard for IELTS and how people write IELTS multiple times to get the right score. At some point, I accepted I wouldn't pass as the time was too short so I just zeroed my mind on another exam, even blamed him in my mind for making me book early as I planned to book for July. Eventually the date of speaking came on the Saturday prior to the main exam. The examiner was really nice and her voice cast away all my tension. Luckily for me the first question she asked was the very question IeltsLiz treated in the tutorial she gave ("Do you live in a house or an apartment?" and my fictional answer was on point. The rest of the test was fine. The second leg of the exam was scheduled for June 2nd. My brother travelled to CA that day so unfortunately I couldn't see him off to the airport. During the listening I lost concentration and missed one of the questions . I also started the first section of my writing with pencil then wrote with the pen once i was ok with it. Unfortunately this took a lot of my time and I was still writing with pen when I heard 20 minutes left. Quickly jumped to the second second and barely finished it. I went home praying and hoping for the best whilst also prepared for another test. I was up playing video games in the early morning of Saturday the 16th of June 2018 when I decided to check the IELTS website for the result. God was really merciful to me. Results were LRWS: 8,9,7,8. I immediately chatted my brother up to give him the good news.
Documents Preparation After the IELTS result was ready and the ECA was in progress I started sourcing for my documents. Employment This was the next biggest challenge. I started working immediately I finished school as I did my IT with the company and also worked part time with them in my final year. I then worked with them from when I finished school till i was done with my NYSC. After this I worked with an American company remotely for some months before I joined my new employer. The current place wouldn't be a problem however the foreign company as well as the first were sources of concern for me. Without going into too much stories, God was merciful again and I'm grateful to all the companies as they were very nice and helpful. All provided me the reference letters in CIC format.
Medicals Once my school verified my results with WES, I decided to book for medicals. At that time Qlife was booked till march and I was scared that IOM would follow suit. I went for the medicals at IOM ikeja. Got there early and I was done at about 11 am.
ITA My ECA was ready on the 18th of December 2018 and I immediately created my Express entry profile. A draw was held the next day (439) and I got the ITA. CRS was 450.
POF My mom came to the rescue here. She transferred the POF and signed the gift deed as well. I notarized the deed at Igbosere court, Obalende for 1500.
PCC I did this with Inspector Moshood for 3000. Also had a bad experience as the gear of my car refused to enter into reverse . Luckily people around helped me push the car towards the road .
After all these, the last item was the work reference letter from my current employer. I was advised to wait till the new year to get it. Shortly after my one year anniversary I approached my boss for it and he gave me without any problems, also gave me lots of valuable advice.
Application I created a OneDrive folder called cic. Inside this folder, I created a folder for all the components of the application. Employment, education, passport, pof, sibling proof etc. Inside each folder I created a folder called parts which contained the individual scanned documents. I used pdfmerge to merge the documents together. After each category's document was ready I uploaded it into it's folder (e.g employment). This way at every point in time and even after I submitted I could find out exactly what I had submitted.
Education : Submitted scanned wes eca, statement of result, and ielts result. Employment : submitted reference letter for each company, offer letter for each company, last 3 months account statement for each company highlighting salary payments, payslips and confirmation letter where available. Medicals : the medical print out provided by IOM POF : used a fixed deposit for 60 days. Submitted the FD certificate, account statement of my other investment with the bank, account statement showing the transfers of the gift deed, account statement of my mum showing the debits of the gift deed and finally the notarized gift deed. PCC : all pages of the police clearance certificate Proof of sibling : my brother's PR card, utility bill, childhood picture circling him and myself, our international passports, our birth certificates and a newspaper clipping showing my dad's change of name LOE : I explained what I submitted for employment . Explained why some of the payments were larger than expected. Also explained the composition of the POF .
I submitted my application on Wednesday Jan 30 2019. At this point I joined a number of whatsapp groups and couldn't keep up with both the groups and nairaland so I concentrated on the groups. After about a month and half I got the MEP/BIL request. Then there was silence. Decided to call them in April. I loaded skype airtime €5. I was able to reach them on the 30th of April. A nice middle aged lady said eligibility was met while others hadn't started. I took this with a grain of salt for some reason. In May I decided to order GCMS notes. Tension was getting much so I called on the 13th of June. Another nice lady said everything looked good without giving any further details . The GCMS Notes came on the 16th of June. Eligibility was met on the 24th of April as the nice lady had suggested. The due date was 10th of June so I was quite happy as I believed my file was being worked on. On the 19th of June, there were lots of PPR announcement in the group and I decided to check my profile. I was quite elated to find a ghost update and quickly added cic.gc.ca to my allowed filters on gmail. I woke up the next morning to find the PPR mail sitting in my mailbox.
All glory to God for this great journey. I pray every one of us will get to Canada in Jesus name. Amen |

Congratulations Dera12345: ORIGINAL PASSPORT REQUEST!!! (May applicant) Experience is truly the best teacher, and my Canadian Sucess story made me believe the saying “EVERY DISAPPOINTMENT IS A BLESSING”!!! I know very well my story will motivate or strengthen some people never to give up in whatever that interests them, pursue it desperately like your life depends on it!! Yes I mean it. Before I proceed, below is my timeline.
Online Application (2nd Application) Submitted May 9th (10:57pm) Upfront medicals passed on 11th June Correspondence letter (today by 10:12am) Original passport request (today by 10:32am)
This experience is my most difficult experience in life so far, I have always thought I can have anything I want in life but this Canada journey taught me that “Human beings can make any plans they want, but it’s God that decides their Sucess or failure”. I don’t even know where to begin from, but only God, Myself and @frankrobbn1 can tell my tragedy-comedy story. So exactly a year today 20th June 2018, I submitted a paper route application and It was refused within 4weeks based on family ties, purpose of visit , personal assets and financial assets. Meanwhile, I have a Bsc in Biochemistry with overall CGPA 4.15 and last two year CGPA 4.71 , going for 2year diploma, paid tution fee $8,880cad. when I received my refusal letter, I cried that very day like never before and till date my first refusal date 18th July,2018 still remains the worst day of my life, and the agent my parents used was just after money. After crying, knowing how bad i needed to leave this country I woke from my comfort zone and began my personal research, this was how I came across this wonderful forum and started reading up!
Through this wonderful platform I met an angel in human form, a motivator, my soulmate and my support system @frankrobbn1, may God bless you richly for me. Frank took his time to explain the errors in my application starting from advising me to secure a masters admission and that is nearly impossible to convince a VO on why diploma and not masters considering my high Gp, and secondly that my application is as empty as anything, I didn’t even submit my family’s information, no assets declared, no employment evidence and so on.
So I began my admission hunt and the devil started his work. Almost all the schools offering my course/ or related course requires a supervisor , and you know how difficult securing a supervisor can be. Some schools I contacted will tell me pump and play that I must identify a supervisor before applying while some will tell me to apply that they will assign me a supervisor once am admitted! I fell to their tricks and lost my application fee, I also tried contacting supervisors all kept turning me down. I kept sending countless mails to different supervisors in different universities all to no avail, some would always come up late with their negative mails of not having space in their lab while some will totally ignore me. I got feed up and I decided to stop sending mails but to call them on phone at least to get a straight forward response rather than waiting for their response that takes weeks and at the end must be negative. I made it as one of my daily activities to call at least 10 supervisors daily, and I did this for months!!! Even the ones that later accepted to supervise me though without funding just all of a sudden will deny even knowing me after I have submitted my application hoping I have secured a supervisor.
In general, I applied to 6 different universities in a space of 8months and all turned me down. I kept asking myself who did I offend? who is after my progress? Through this same wonderful forum I met a very nice fellow @agronat. Immediately he posted about him securing a masters admission with funding, i pm him to put me through, and that was how I realized the vital points/information missing out in my application and the reasons behind my refusals regardless of my high scores. And today am glad that my finally attempt landed me a full fulled scholarship worth $38,076CAD at BROCK UNIVERSITY ONTARIO , 2 years MSc in Biotechnology. Big thanks to @frankrobbn1 for recommending Brock University to me. I nearly craze that day (April 18th, 2019)!!! NB: the scholarship covers my tution and living expenses with extra left, I was also guaranteed a graduate assistantship position. Isn’t God great? This was when I realized that God was preparing something greater for me.
Fast forward to my visa application, guru @frankrobbn1 finished work.. I personally wrote my SOP and LOE, but when frank was done reviewing it I couldn’t recognize my LOE and SOP .. lol, he reconstructed it and was even using the VO’s terms to address every issue. He sold me well and also left the Change for the Visa officer to keep. I can’t thank you enough.., even after I submitted my visa application he took me to a church where I was given 4 days dry fasting and prayers (something I have never done in my life). I’m not the churchious type but this journey brought me closer to God and will forever remain grateful. I will be traveling to lagos next week to submit my passport and at the same time celebrate this wonderful journey that ended well. Seriously my sleep tonight will be very special after one year of dreaming of CANADA Lol, and to @justwise thanks for making this platform possible.

Prayer is the Key.
I wish all TRV hopefuls SUCCESS!!! |

Congratulations, good to know that Cousin Sponsorship can also fly for Visa Approval. Interesting read. hwfwl: Good People, here goes my interview on 30th of May 2019
V.O -Where are you going to? ME- I am going to Arkansas tech university for my master's degree in Emergency management and homeland security
V.O- Why this school? ME- when I did my research online, I discovered the schools has done a lot of research work in the area of public health hazards and responses to diseases epidemics, especially the work of Dr Sandy Smith in this areas also spurred my interest.
V.O- Which course and school did you finish from? ME- I obtained the Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the university of Benin
V-O- Why the change of course, you read Pharmacy and now Emergency management? ME- No, I am not changing, the emergency management master's degree helps me as a Pharmacist to manage public health disasters effectively. Medical practitioners are first responders to cases of disasters so as a Pharmacist, there should be proper coordination of the delivery of drugs and vaccines to this victims for example the victims of boko haram. ( I prepared better than this, with very eloquent responses but as the interview started I couldn't just reply the way I planned, started improvising and almost even stuttered at some point).
V.O- Did you write any standard exams? ME- Yes, GRE -305, TOEFL- 102
V.O- You currently work at Bleep pharmaceuticals? ME- YES
V.O- Are you coming back to work for the company when you finish your study? ME- No, I want to work for NEMA and NGOs in order to help victims of Disasters
V.O- Who's sponsoring you? ME- My cousin
V.O- let me see your bank statement( I gave it to her)
V.O- Why is he sponsoring you? ME- He has always done that for me, even up to my university education.
V.O- if this account is found to be fraudulent you will be banned from entering the United States for 10 years, blah blah. ME- I understand (kept nodding my head)
V.O- This is a corporate account, Ughhh it stops at April, Ughhh okay I will do this (typed for a while), then she tells me to provide a bank statement that ends in May, gives me the pink and white paper, then tells me to DHL my passport along with the bank statement.
I LEFT.
Three days later I submitted my passport alongside the requested documents. Administrative processing since then. The visa has been issued.
I gained and learned tremendously from this forum. Thank you all. God bless yous |

Congrats Sharwama sharwama: SHARWAMA'S APPROVED VISA TRANSCRIPT. Date: June 7, 2019 Venue: Lagos Consulate Time:6:30 a.m Gender of VO: Male Window: I Didn't notice, I was blown away by his cuteness and jerry curl Ok it was the second to last window, before the exit door. I: (Smiling) Good morning sir V.O: Good morning, please pass me your passport and your I-20. I did and he was like "please push your passport a little bit further". I pushed it and asked, "is it okay now sir?" VO: Yes it is. Why are you going to the US I: (deep breath + killer smile) To uhm, pursue a masters degree in Biology, Biomedical Science Concentration at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City Tennessee. V.O: Why this degree? I: I really want to work as a research scientist at a renowned biomedical research Institute here in Nigeria. Unfortunately, a masters degree in Biology or a closely related field is the minimum requirement for such a position. So this degree would not just help me hone my research skills or build my critical thinking, it would qualify me for the position I really want, when I return. V.O: So why did you pick this school? I: (Gesticulating with magical hands) For me, it wasn't just about the generous funding I received, which I am extremely grateful for by the way, it had a lot more to do with the student-faculty relationship I have built with my potential supervisor, professor Burna boy. We Skyped a couple of times and we have chosen a thesis topic I am super excited about. V.O: What other schools did you apply to? I: I applied at Texas A&M University, Commerce VO: uhum(while typing) I: Cleveland State University Ohio and Kansas State University Manhattan Kansas. VO: Have you travelled out of the country before? I: I have not had the need to sir. VO: Are you married I: No sir V.O: You said you have funding, let me see the evidence I: My school did not give me an official letter but it's on the I-20(I pointed at the document so he looked at it) V.O: Ok I see $9590 to be payed by someone ,who is this? I: That's my mum sir V.O: What does she do? I: My mum is a business woman, she sells African fabrics and traditional bridal attires V.O: Yes do you have any proof, I want to see evidence. I was confused and he mentioned "or bank statement" I: (Killer smile)Yes, with all pleasure. Just a moment please. So I got the bank statement V.O(while looking at the statement) Doesn't your mum have other children to sponsor in school? I: (I never expected that question, so my English technically failed me, so I looked at him and answered) All of us have finished school, it remainder two of us. I was so embarrassed about my grammatical blunder but I was glad he understood the point, we were all done with school except two of my siblings. V.O: Ok, I will be approving your Visa. He hands me the white paper. Talked about pick up in three working days, gave me back my SOA and I-20, asked me to keep it carefully and I would need the latter at the port of entry... Told me to have a wonderful day I: (Killer smile) Thank you and have a wonderful rest of the day too. Yup, I bounced out of the building THE END |

I think it is advisable for the mother to apply for her visa first get it while using other members of the family as home ties then inturn apply for the rest of the family guzenaira: Depending on the options I gave you earlier, whatever you submit there must be proof of funds. |

Funding is very key, it makes life easy Brown2Green: In this journey any school that can give good fund is a good school. A poor school will not even get funds from the government and private organizations.
And funding is very key. I say it again that Funding is the new IVY. |

Okay thank you for the feedback Frankrobbn1: I would prefer you make use of a sponsor in Nigeria (uncle). Over my two years and above experience in the Canada study visa I have come across countless applicants who have gotten their visas with third party sponsorship (uncle, aunt, father-in-law, fiance etc..) Whilst, I can only point out three (3) applicants who were successful with a prodigy loan in Canada. If you plan using a loan within Canada, you must show that you/family are capable and well off in Nigeria to pay off the loan upon your return to Nigeria i.e you will need a strong financial source of income that will offset the cost and investment of the loan in Nigeria. |

@Frankrobbn1, is it safer to get a student loan from the likes of prodigy or empower to use as sponsor instead of quoting uncle which one need to go to a very large extent to proof. I think using all this loan company it will safe one the headache of proof. Correct me if my assertion is wrong Sir. Frankrobbn1: I regret to hear your study visa/permit was refused. Pardon me to say that from my point of view, your application wasn't well packaged and prepared. The generic reason highlighted by the visa officer Personal Assets and financial status wasn't the factual reason behind your refusal. However I see the reasons coming from your sponsor and your purpose of visit.
First and foremost before I proceed in proffering solution to your refusal, permit me to ask you some questions which include the following;
1-)You said your uncle was your sponsor, how did you establish the proof of relationship b/w both of you?
2-) What evidence did you show as proof of history or ongoing financial support from him?
3-) What was his reasons for sponsoring you abroad considering that local options would be cheaper for him being that he is a third party?
4-) What have you done to deserve such benefit from him ?
5-) Was he (uncle) able to certify the visa officer that you would never pose to be a burden to his immediate family, personal welfare and business during the course of your studies in Canada?
6-) What does your uncle stand to gain as a result of this sponsorship?
7-) Since uncle is using a cooperate/business account as prime proof of financial support did uncle include a dully signed board resolution letter which would state that they are aware of this sponsorship and approves it?
8-) Was there any assurance from uncle that funds will be made available during subsequent years of study without working and no recourse to public funds?
9-) Did you at any given time in your application, include a family tree which will substantively show how your uncle and parents are related and how the relationship was linked to your immediate generation?.
I ask all of those questions because I noticed you submitted an empty application that gave the visa officer the impression that your sponsor (uncle) is not a genuine one that will finance your stay in Canada and that you will not have full access to funds presented in your application. Thus, the visa officer didn't look side ways before refusing your application.
Provide answers to the aforementioned questions, do the needful and you will be fine in your next reapplication. Success! |

Do they fund DBA? What's course did you do in your bachelor's degree? eyoiba: Good evening guys. Please I am applying for DBA (Doctor of Business Administration) at the University of Calgary. I only have my MBA transcript but I was told that I would also need my undergraduate degree transcript which I have not even applied for. The application deadline is June 1. Is the first degree transcript necessary for this admission? If yes, can I still go ahead and apply and later update my first degree transcript. |

Thank you for the break down. Can one start this process without international passport, do they accept drivers licence or national ID or voters card as a form of ID? Bisbankz: I'm still working on mine.i got that piece online and I decided to share it here. I started mine on late January and it's almost done now.my school just responded to efcmg some days ago...just waiting for MCC to tick my documents green then request for my ECA.i think 3-6months u should be done if you are really fast about it.i have little delays in btw because I was lost and I needed help but thank God it's almost over now.
For total fee paid:
1)on opening an account on www.physiciansapply.ca a $290 CAD non-refundable fee is charged.
2. To request for a source verification (svr) of your qualification on the physicians apply site It costs $170 CAD....its done through ECFMG.
3. On opening an account with ECFMGEPIC you pay the sum of $125 USD(online notary included)
4. To verify your result you pay $90USD but it was $70USD before.
5. You pay for courier fo send your credentials to MCC(21k) for DHL
6. You pay for verification of result in your school..mine is 20k.
I have not requested for ECA yet I think that should be around $240-250 CAD plus courier.
I think that's all..... |

Is it safe to say all ECA does not need international passport. Seems national ID or drivers licence or voters card will suffice. GozyNA: I don't know about ICES, but for WES you don't need it. Start it immediately. |

How long did this take from start to completion? How much in total did it cost? Bisbankz: Hi all, I got this from a site and it's really helping....
I just got my ECA done for my Medical Degree.. Initially it looked like a herculean task as I had no idea how it was to be done. So I went through many forums and from bits and pieces of the information I carried on with the process and fortunately got successful. So I decided to make a thread for those aspirants who are still searching for the procedures or for those who will need it in future.
1. Photocopy your medical degree (medical degree is the one in which it is stated that you have completed your medical degree including your internship, which is usually given to you on your day of graduation by your college or later by your university)
2. Check if your medical degree mentions the name of your college and its address anywhere in it. If not get another document, may be your official internship completion record or any such document which has the address and get its photocopy also.
DO NOT GET THE ABOVE TWO ATTESTED
3. Now create an account in physicians.apply. There will be a registration fee which has to be made with a . credit card only and in CAD.Your account will be created once payment is confirmed.
4. Once account is created, check the side panels where you can see an option called source verification request. Click!!
5. Fill up the required infos and submit the request, again there's a fee.
6. Print out the pages they ask you to do so ( 2 cover sheets one for passport and other one for degree, an identity confirmation document, a release form)
7. Next step is to find a public notary(or any other person as they have mentioned) and get attestation done for your Passport copy and identity confirmation document only. While getting the attestation please read through the instructions carefully.
8. Now send all the 6 documents(copy of medical degree and its cover, passport copy and its cover, identity confirmation, release form ; note: if you have another record to provide the address of your institution then that as well) to MCC via courier.
9. Once they receive documents they will update that in your physicians.apply account and then they will verify your document and send it to ECMG for source verification. Once ECFMG receive it they will then send it to your institution for Source verification. It will all take about 2-3 weeks time.
10. If your institution is registered with ECFMG for electronic source verification then it will take only a day's time for the SVR to be completed and send back to ECFMG by your institution. You just have to remain in touch with your college authority and see to it that they does it without any delay.
11. Once SVR is send back from your college in 1-2 days, your status will get updated as source verification passed.
12. Then you can apply for ECA assessment via other services request in physicians.apply, additional 104CAD for that.
13. Once you submit the request, in 3-4 days time you will get an e-copy of your ECA report in your account. The physical copy may take 1-2 weeks time.
Thats it Thank you all
PS: Thanks to all those who helped me with my earlier queries |

The responses were so on point. Congratulations. NoelJunior: Good evening friends. I want to appreciate every member of this great platform. I’ve benefited immensely. I wish to share my Visa interview transcript (approved) Me: Good morning VO: Good morning. Pass your Passport and I-20 VO: Why are you going to the US? Me: I’m going to the US to pursue a Doctorate degree in Computer Science at the Manhattan Campus of Kansas State University VO: Why KSU? Me: From my findings, KSU has a very high research activity status. In fact, the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland and Security have designated the Centre for information of the University as a National Centre of Academic excellence in cyber defense research. The computer science three-pronged motto of world class faculty, world class education and world class research, coupled with the presence of three robust data science laboratories makes KSU a great platform for me to… (VO cuts in) VO: Tell me about your background Me: I hold a Bachelors of Science degree and majored in Statistics and Computer Science with a first class honors. I went further to study for Master of Science in Statistics VO: So why are you going for a PhD in Computer Science? Me: The world today is marked with an explosion of large volume of data, data that are potentially useful and informative but structurally complex and requires algorithms and techniques to determine the patterns/trends so as to aid effective decision making. I’d like to be a part of the research team that would develop novel techniques to unfold these complexities. I intend to achieve this by integrating my knowledge of statistics and computer programming VO: Are you married? Me: (Smiles) No, I’m not yet married VO: Okaaaay, your Visa is approved. {She passed me a white paper and my from I-20} Me: (Wider Smiles) Thank you {Got an email the following day to pick up my passport at the address I chose on the visa application which also reflected on the white paper she gave me}
Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!! I hope to read success stories in torrents. May God grant you uncommon favor in your interviews. Cheers! |

The story of God's Grace
I took my first IELTS early last year. I scored 8.5, 6.5, 7,7.5 LRWS- BC I wrote a second time and scored 7.5, 9.0,7,7.5 LRWS - IDP. Then they were using speakers and it wasn't clear. I even complained after the test but nothing was done. Then the 3rd 8.5, 7.5,6.5,7.5 - IDP. I applied for an EOR but it came out negative. Then the 4th 8.5,8.5,6.5,8.0 LRWS - IDP. I applied for an EOR again but it came out negative. Then the 5th, I missed this one because my passport was with an embassy, I wanted to reschedule but BC chop witch with the excuse that the time was short . Then the 6th 9,7.5,5.5,7.5 LRWS-BC. I was so embarrassed. How can a freelance writer have a score like this in writing. I never told anyone about my score except my friend who encouraged me. I later realized my mistake; We were asked to write a letter to a colleague, I wrote a semi-formal formal letter instead of an informal letter. I learnt my lesson. Then the 7th, 8.5,8.5,6.5,8.0 - LRWS- IDP. I was pained because I really prepared for the writing. A voice within me kept on telling me to remark but I was just giving excuses. One day, something happened that made me cry to the extent of asking myself what was holding me back in this country . I downloaded the eor form and was completing it with tears in my eyes. I made a mistake and circled reading instead of writing. I tried reprinting the form but my printer stopped working. I decided to circle both reading and writing after which I made the necessary payment and submitted. On 24th of April, I got an email to come and pick up my trf. I contacted IDP and requested that they courier it to my address. I later got an email requesting that I pay for the courier service, and also sign and complete the fund refund form. I was confused, I contacted them again and ask how long it will take for me to get the result and they said between 5-10 working days. How do they expect me to wait that long? The following day being the 25th of April, I traveled to the state were I took the exam (I actually left before daybreak). When I got the IDP office, I was told that there was a mixup somewhere and my result was sent to Port Harcourt . Why can't my village people just let me be. Meanwhile, I had already registered for another test in Kano with IDP. I traveled back to my base to prepare for my journey to Kano the following day. While on my way to Kano on the 26th, I got a call from IDP to come for my result. I told the lady that I can't it make and I can't wait for their "5-10 working days" to get my result. She said I should send an email to that effect to IDP and copy her so that she can follow it up. She promised to courier the result that day ensuring me that I was going to get it the following day. I made the payment - N5450 . Nevertheless, I took the exam in Kano and went back to my base on the 27th hoping to see my new IELTS score, Unfortunately, the result was not delivered hmmmm. Fast forward to Monday, around few minutes to 2:00, I got a call that a package was just delivered from DHL, omo, with the speed of light, I rushed and collected the package and went into my car. I prayed and opened it, the unbelievable scores were just staring at me LRWS- 8.5, 9,7,8. I couldn't control the tears from my eyes, I lifted my hands and praised God. He has given me a testimony, an unbelievable one. Please join me in praising him for he has done so very much for me ❤️❤️. Swimming in the pool with 475. Hoping to get it soon. Please is there a post-ITA group? |

Because this might take time before I get it I tried to do an upfront medical, but q-life said the earliest available date is 7th of June, which is way too far. Congratulations. This is a very long interview transcript. It can only be God kinibd: I was denied the first time on December 31st 2018 at the Lagos Embassy, My original I 20 got to me on the 2nd of January and so I had to go with a scanned copy for the interview and the first question the VO asked me then was why did I come with a scanned copy, I told her that the original was still on transit and the look on her face was not encouraging and after asking me why this school and who will be sponsoring me, I got the pink paper and so I went back and requested for another I 20, made sure I got it then booked another interview at abuja
Got to the Abuja Embassy,
Me: Good morning (while smiling)
VO: Good morning pass me your passport please
Me: Passes Pasport while still smiling
VO: I can see from your F1 that you are applying for a student Visa can I see that
Me: Yes I am while passing the F1
VO: Have you ever been out of the country before?
Me : Yes I had my first degree in Ghana
VO: What did you study
Me: ICT
VO: What?
Me: Information and Communication Technology
VO: while typing...I dont see anything like that here
Me : I filled it in it should be there
VO: Oh i see it now...calls the name of my school and I nod then he asks how many schools gave me admission
Me : two schools
VO: what schools
Me: St Clouds State University and Concordia University St Paul
VO: Why did you choose St Clouds
Me: i chose St Clouds because of a couple of reasons, firstly they have a Business Computer Research Laboratory Equipped with workstations and enterprise level servers for research and teaching purposes and...
VO : cuts me off, yes well all schools in the usa have very good laboratories tell me why you chose this school
Me: well at the Laboratories at St Cloud, they create virtual machines that are used to support teaching database auditing and networking packets dumping and analyses and also...
VO: cuts me off again...well most schools have that as well
Me: Oh well then i chose them because they gave me a scholarship
VO: oh really, (looks at my I 20) well your scholarship is for $3000 and your total fees is about 19,000, how are you going to take care of the rest
Me: oh no, my Tuition and Fees is $9,500
VO: looks at I 20 again, okay so who is going to be paying for the rest
Me: My Parents
VO: what do they do
Me: My mom whose statement I have is blablabla
VO: I'm sorry what?
Me: my mom is blablabla and my dad is blablabla
VO: How did you hear about the school?
Me: One of my undergraduate course lecturer went to St. Clouds for a seminar and when he came back, he couldnt stop talking about the school and their laboratories and when i started searching for schools online to pursue my masters degree and St Cloud popped up again, i checked them out and the course they offered alligned with my career goals.
VO: Types for a while. Looks at me. So what are you going to be doing after you finish this program?
Me: The number of internet users in Nigeria has grown from about 20% of the population in 2010 to more than 50% of the population today and the more people that use the internet, the more networks there are, the more security there needs to be on them, this course will help me institute policies that protect organizations physical data and digital information and so i could become an IT consultant, I know i can, i tried to infuse what i learnt in my under graduate studies into my dads business by setting up a website and also creating a program that helps keep track of stock records.
VO: Can i see your bank statement
Me: passes it
VO: I am going to check this out and if I find anything wrong you will be banned from entering the USA, do you understand
Me: yes I do.
VO: types for a while, take this paper, (he gives me a white slip) you have to keep it safe because you will need it to enter the United States. Then he types for a while and gives me a yellow paper and says again if i find anything wrong with this account you will be banned, are you sure you still want to submit it
Me: Yes Sir
VO: okay welcome to the United States and make sure you keep that white slip safe ok
Me (while smiling) : okay sir thank you very much.
I hope this helps someone, I owe it all to God, I prayed like I had not prepared at all and I prepared like I had not prayed at all but its all the grace of God.
Last Bullet: I was so tensed the first time and so while rehearsing my answers for the second time, i noticed that smiling made me more relaxed and that was how i was able to overcome any nervousness, by smiling almost all through the interview. |

Congratulations. What was your crs score? bimmie85: I finally got my Saskatchewan nomination updated on the CIC portal and got my ITA today as well. This is a quick update for anyone that may encounter a similar issue from SINP after getting their nomination. I highlighted what to do below:
- DO NOT manually update your nomination on the CIC portal, it has to be done by the SINP and the CIC will notify you to accept the nomination like you will accept the express entry ITA. A couple of people advised me to manually update my profile when I asked around, it would have been wrong and I don't know what that would have led to. - After waiting for about 2 weeks after the nomination was sent to me, I emailed SINP back for clarification on what to do and notified them that my account has not been updated. In the email, I included name, SINP application number, and nomination certificate number. I then called several times and couldn't get through, so I left voice messages. - About a week later, they replied my email and apologized for the delay and said they've now notified CIC. Few hours after the email, I received a CIC notification and logged in to my portal to accept the nomination. Then the 600 point was added to my existing CRS score.
I hope this helps someone one day too. |
