Family / Re: I Am 20 And My Mom Wants To Throw Me Out. by xcelentattitude(m): 7:12am On May 17, 2020
samicine:
Greetings one and all. I'll try to make my lamentation as short as possible.

My mother accused me of stealing her 2k, but I assure you, I didn't. The money got missing on Thursday night according to her and my 13 year old brother. I won't do such a thing, because the times are hard and the pandemic is fueling this hard times. I'm not lazy, I kind of work from home, I write for opera news hub and to some extent I get money from there, currently I have 19k in my account. I have no motive of taking her money, but she insists I took it, and is currently threatening to throw me out of the house.

This is not the first time such thing has happened. When I was still in secondary school, money got missing often and she'll blame me, beat me and starve me for stealing her money, but God helped me and the culprit was found, my other brother was caught, he is 18 now and doesn't stay with us anymore. He stays with my dad. She never apologized for what she did and the scars of that emotional and physical abuse still ripples across my body. But this time I'm not sure I will forgive her if the money is found. I'm planning on leaving home and starting my life somewhere, it's hard, it might just be my naivety speaking, but I need your advice.

The only skill I have is writing and web designing, which I'm almost getting good at. I just need help and guidance. I'm a 200level student and I major in psychology. I'll be 21 by November.

You're not serious!

This is a one sided story and as such, I would rather keep my advice in my pocket. Stop trying to paint your mom black.

All these stories of hate you're telling, it's only about recent happenings. How about many years ago, when you were still much younger? You mean she didn't accuse you then? Check yourself bro.

When kids get to a certain age, almost everyone looks like an enemy. I know this because I passed through the same stage, and I could have sworn that my uncle and his wife hated me, but now I have a better understanding.

"To every action there's an equal and opposite reaction.
"

I'm sure there are series of behaviours you are putting up that you ain't telling us, so stop playing the victim card and grow up!

Bonaventura:
This is one of the best news so far in the face of the coronavirus pandemic in Nigeria.

The news is better than the military killing of the young man in Jos

It's better than the ravenous killings by herdsmen in Kaduna

Better than the government claiming it spends more than 600 million feeding school children in their home.

The news is better than reviving Ajaokuta Steel Company just to be looted again.

This is really a great news

It is the kind of news you read with a bowl on nkwobi and very cold bottle of Star Lager Beer

Though, I don't drink, but I want to sha support this your post in my own capacity grin

Culture / Re: What Is The Mystery Behind Dreadlocks 'Dada'? by xcelentattitude(m): 1:11pm On May 14, 2020
I'm sure it has a spiritual implication.

At least on one or two occasions, I have witnessed the negative effect of shaving a dread lock.

One happened some 15years back, I can't remember the details surrounding it sha, but I remembered that a baby's hair (which was already looking like dreadlocks) was shaved. The night of that day was dreadful. The veins on the baby's head became very visible coupled with high temperature. At one point, some of us began nursing the thought that the baby might die. Trust me, the experience was surreal. After some time, the thing grew back o.

We were told not to try that sh!t again unless the child him/herself asks that the hair should be shaved.

If you like believe, if you like, don't!

I couldn't care less grin

Meanwhile, Marlians will soon storm this thread... grin grin

Very apt.

Coronavirus doesn't move around, they are moved.

Outlawing the practice of sending hungry children to other towns to fend for themselves under whatever guise, is a commendable step towards ending these social ills called Almajiri.

But this is certainly a wrong time for doing this.

It is just like puncturing the efforts by all stakeholders in controlling the spread of this virus.

Such action at this time is pound foolish and penny wise.

Advise Me Please. Should I Confess?

I recently packed into my apartment somewhere in Ogun, and my neighbor's goats have been sleeping at the back of my apartment near my window and they have been urinating and passing out faeces making my room inhabitable.

So the other day, I poured some hot water on one of the goats. I discovered that the woman is into traditional medicine. She has been making some incantations since yesterday concerning the goat. And I am scared that she will hurt me.

Should I confess or be brave? What should I do?

Daddy Favour is making noise, he wants to tear my book.
This is not how our Aunty use to teach us, she is asking what is pollination, daddy what is pollination?

I will tell them go and ask your mummy I want to rest, next minute mummy said nobody should disturb her, okay go back and continue watching the TV teacher. But daddy they have finished basic science can we watch Princess Sophia and Elena of Avalon please. (They know how to check the lineup of the lessons with the DSTV remote.) Let me show you, they will start primary 4 English by 2pm, social studies by 4pm.
