And who says you are the only one that can do 140 on TMB?
Or you think riders don't like it when drivers speed? For you to think she's gonna report the driver.
Good for them, but having a stranger drive you like that in Lagos... On second thought, that's a babe I'd like to meet wink

On the driver's part that's unprofessional and wrong.

Very early in the morning and very late in the night. Cause I can’t be dragging with traffic, Lastma, police, hot sun during the day except there is surge.

I can’t be revolutionized by seeing only figures.
How easy it is to net 100k week in week out easily without break down? Revolution leader broke down and was pained, dashboards froze.
He can’t show empty dashboard

Point proven you can’t predict or consistently earn a figure in this hustle. There are good days and low days.
Apparently it looks like it's because you have to be at your other hustle.
...and of course there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

My fear really is not the pick up time and distance, i know what i drive most times on indriver to pick a rider. Mostly what i fear is the destination. Nothing fear me pass unknown destination like free knacks laced with sweetie.
Fun fact. I used to only ask destination at night. The uncertainty of picking random people going to random places gave me some weird kind of kick. I'm a very curious person and that randomness is one of the perks of the job for me. It very interesting.

Sir I disagree with you on this…

One of the major car odor is Driver sleeping in the car turning the car to a room self contained.

I picked a rider around Abraham Adesanya to VI last week the man conversations sounds like this…

Man; good morning sir
Me: morning sir
Man: please sir am so sorry to ask this questions which I don’t normally do.::: hope you’re not among those drivers that sleep in the car?
Me: never hope no problem sir?
Man: no problem sir you can come now am opposite a supermarket.
Me: on 1.9 surge make I sharply carry him.

I picked the man and he was bitterly complaining that 2 bolt driver that came, their cars stinks like mortuary although he asked them and they confirmed they slept in the car which prompted him to leave and cancel the ride cos he was on white and going for a meeting.

How can a rider that’ll pay 7,300 for a single trip worth 2,200 will not enjoy their trip with quality car is wrong now.

I understand some of them might be living far but at least that car is their office how much is car wash and car perfume. Even dashboard cleaner is just 500-700naira.

Flood is not riders fault if you detect a flood area and you know your car can’t swim. Nobody force anybody that’s why there’s an option for cancellation.

But you see that above mentioning go to Osapa London this morning and find out
It's basically dirt, dirty body, clothes, car interior etc. Mix it with moisture, whether flood o, sweat etc that's a stink. cocktail

When are we going to talk about drivers showing up with vehicles that will stink and sound like grinding machine? If no be shocks na one thing or the other. Or drivers asking for cash trips etc

Why blame rider for bad roads? If you no like the road, note it down and never go there again.

While we’re all hustling to make the money , lets not become beasts. The nation is hard everyone know but we still need to show empathy while doing doing our jobs.

Meeting your driver halfway is what i usually do cos am ready before i request and once i see say him don enter my street i don dey waka go meet am. Some of us are wired like that, i no even like make rider con dey call me say ehn am outside.

Some riders will even call you to explain easier routes to get to them. Asking people out of your vehicle should be the last resort, it shouldn’t be an habit.

People around ojo local govt , una thank you o. Dem wan use request kill me from 10Km away, that road construction b lyke say e don cut them off. Even bolt sef dey tell me say if i wan decline i fit decline cos na out of range , i no know wetin carry me go iyana school.

From my experience using Uber this week, I think what Uber is lacking is drivers. Rides poured in back to back. Even with both apps on, Uber requests came in first.
But pickup distances no be here o. It's gotten much worse now. 10km pickups were sooo frequent, I just weak. It's a terrible shortage of drivers. But rides don't stop. I completed 10 today but must have ignored up to 20

@Bazoo @Felicity

My Ordeal with indriver was not good at all.
I picked up this dude at 1004. The destination showed Ojodu Berger and the trip fare was N3010. At the PU point, the lad said he'll be making a transfer as his mode of payment, neither do I sense anything contrary to his request.

Approaching Ojodu Berger, the map destination showed he is heading towards Agbole akute, then I asked where exactly his he going to? He replied akute-ajuwon. It was a rainy day. I said to him, I won't be able to go further pass the agbole bridge, I'll have to drop you at the foot of the bridge. Passenger said no problem.
On getting to the agreed destination, he disembarked from the vehicle but his items were still inside, went to negotiate with the bike riders. I didn't have any premonition that he'll be doing anything stupid. He came back hurriedly, requested for my account details in which I spelt out correctly. He confirmed the name of the account, he said done and quickly hopped on bike that was stationed in front of him, they zoomed off.

Waited earnestly for the money to drop but to no avail. I was marvelled. Presumably, He should be in his 20s ó. I'm still in shock ó.
I tried calling him, can't reach him he has blacklisted my number. Tried with other line, he picked up...heard my voice and blacklisted the line also.

In fact...I totally subscribe to @felicity submission about indriver riders as : low lifers and individuals living in privation.

Try to complain to support but there response is not encouraging. Seems their is no penalty for such action(s)
Drop his number let's pray for him

Free advise. Pls Always clear this stupid debt on Friday. If you let it build, they'll restrict you at BTW 7 - 8k, to only card trips, which may be difficult to get. And you can't pay them and it reflects during weekends.
If you use that reference code, it'll reflect shortly after.
But yeah always good to not cross a certain threshold, 4k is mine. I'll either clear it all or knock off some of it
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by XGhost: 8:38pm On Sep 11, 2021
Abeg, why is it that when you have a rider and tag alongs, na the tag alongs de always complain and not the person paying for the ride. Na dem go ask oga why are you passing here, why are you driving like this, why is the fare so and so when road was free, was there surge??

So this lady requested for her husband, he comes out, sits in front and tells me to wait someone else is joining us. Ok.
Two other men join. Isaac John to 1004, map says turn left at Maryland-ojota-alapere... Maryland-Anthony-Gbagada is 7 minutes slower. I go with the map.

Dudes at the back start grumbling in Yoruba about the route, long journey bla bla bla. Talmbout the trick drivers use, taking the longer route to inflate the fare. We get to obalende, dem de direct up and down, pass here, press horn, you no get horn? (I only use my horn when I absolutely have to). All through I and the owner of the trip don't utter a word till they got off at obalende. That's when the man spoke, talked about how people behave, selfish and all. Na so we gist till 1004, told him I enjoyed talking and he said he wished we meet again, dropped small change.

Now I could easily have responded to those guys, but to what end. As far as contracts go, I had no business with them and their opinions, thoughts and utterances meant absolutely nothing to me.
They probably thought because they were speaking Yoruba I didn't know what they were saying but I understood everything and was tempted to respond in their language.
I always find it foolish when people assume the driver doesn't understand the language, especially Yoruba... Inside Lagos??

it will do us a lot of good if you explain in clear terms, the misconception and how it's poorly addressed by drivers. In my opinion, the experience you narrated didn't really expose it except stating that I was insecure and had a fragile ego.
I wasn't referring to you in particular. I was speaking to a general behaviour and perception and cause.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by XGhost: 1:06pm On Sep 11, 2021
pleasureosondu:
We've previously debated on this issue, so I'll suggest you read back some pages. But let me summarize my points.

1. I'm not a fan of violence. In cases between drivers and rude riders, I've always said drivers should walk away.

2. Ideally, some riders aren't interested in "knowing" you. They already "know " you as their "driver". So they chose to stop whenever, wherever and however they like without pre-informing you in most cases, typical of how salaried drivers are treated. Are you one?
I guess not, so act differently.

3. True, a contact with a rider can be brief but it's effect on both parties can have rubber- stamp implications. E-hailing platforms knows this. Why do you think you have paid waiting option in your app? To prevent time wasting from riders. Time in exchange for money. Imagine if this option wasn't available. Mr XGhost, I can go on.

4. Why should I feel insecure or adopt a fragile ego? Do you know that some of us are better off than most of the riders? At times, I pick up staff at odd hours and places and they'll be shocked that their driver na Oga. Now, should I disrespect them because of that brief meeting? No. But should they disobey my instructions because I was their Bolt driver, thus I no get level? .....

Please, there's a line between ego, pride and dignity and I suggest you do a research on it.
I suggest you read back and note what I referenced. We're not talking about time wasting and so on. I was specific in what I addressed and how it is perceived and addressed by drivers.

I'll keep the comparison until bolt responds. Those Mfkers would surely respond. Uber's case is damned if you do, damned if you don't. They've lost riders to bolt and indriver. As long as Nigeria is concerned, uber has lost the "giant" mantle.

I'm not interested in their offer. It's a distraction. For that offer to be valid, they have to find a way to attract riders back to their platform. Else, bringing drivers back in is an exercise in futility. Who dem go carry? Even the little surge will disappear. Long pickups will still be there. The offer will make sense if they advertise a package for riders that will be tempting enough for them to leave bolt and indriver, and come to them.

The current bonus bolt gives riders makes them happy. What has uber done to match that?
I've actually been doing quite a bit of Uber since Tuesday and I daresay it's not bad. Still getting back to back trips. Only downside is that I can't see destination, I'm presently on course to add 7k bonus there.
Combined, I should be able to do 200k this week.

Good Morning Pilots. How the hustle dey go? So I have officially been relegated to the league of the lazy drivers. Got a new job (8 to 5) so it's been difficult doing it along with this hustle. But it's all good.

Pilots taking trip to Lagos Island, you guys need to exercise caution oo. Especially if you don't know the area well. Yesterday morning while going to work, I took a destination trip to Lagos Island (I work in Ikoyi). I entered a street and these CBD boys were in front of me. One was waving a stick and the other started focusing his phone's camera on my plate number, probably for evidence.

I was already slowing down because they were directly in my path. Then my brain remembered one way, how I lost a huge sum of money to task force like 3 weeks ago. Omo! I just put my foot down on the pedal and started maneuvering. Turned left into one street and took the next right on full speed.

My riders were shouting. They didn't even understand what was going on. Eventually I escaped. So guys be careful. There are no signs whatsoever and Google maps is a bastard grin.

Wanted to go out today but I've opted to watch EPL. Something special is happening by 3PM today. wink
That something special no wan allow me work too... Been racking my brain on how to make today's target, watch that match and still pay back my sleep deficit.
