Giving out loans is the business and interest is the profit.
No smart person should be talking about loan and free lunch in the same sentence.

Banks give loans, loans are available with modern loan apps and even there are traditional loan schemes.
Nobody who takes loans thinks the giver is a philanthropist because a loan is not a gift.

It is not as if the Chinese invented loans.
IMF and the world bank have been giving loans for years.

There is a difference between emergency funds and a regular subsidy.
Also, the Feds are unlikely to bail out any airline because that will be a
financially unwise decision.

IBOMAIR is the only one with a grant becos ibom airport and airline is a state owned and run establishment, no federal support.

It doesn't matter which government supports it.
Every state's economy impacts the whole country.
Any government should be looking for ways to avoid all subsidies and not be adding to them.

What critics don't know is that Ibom airport is the only state run airport in the country. The rest are federal government property .. so go back and read the article carefully sir

As I said before, owning an airline is bad news unless it can turn a profit.
The government built an airport and started an airline without thinking about profit.
We could overlook the airport but the airline will continuously require a subsidy to operate.

The truth is that the Airline business is one of the riskiest businesses today.
No government should risk public fund to start one.

It shouldn't have started operation before the proper appraisal is done.
The nation can't move forward if the government keep increasing recurrent expenditure
all in the name of employment when such money should have been used to empower
people to be independent.

Some of these empowered people will end up creating jobs and employing others instead
of becoming government workers.

All the current airports in the country except Lagos and Abuja are operating at a huge loss
costing various governments billions per year.

The governor knew this but still went ahead with the project just so Akwa Ibom can have an Airport.
My suggestion is that the Airport operations be fully privatized(no more subsidies) even if it may go
bankrupt.

The need of the majority must supersede those of the few Airport workers.

Ibom Air was a loss-making enterprise from the beginning.
Using COVID-19 as a cover for the subsidy is not a sustainable strategy.
Ibom Air will continue to gulp more money since the government cannot
follow simple market dynamics of demand and supply.

Supreme court judges are not occupying a temporary position.
They are not subjected to electoral threats.
The court is currently majority conservative in leaning and if you read the actual judgments,
you would see that the swinging conservative judges didn't necessarily prefer that DACA continues.
Trump got burned because he could not follow sensible procedures for achieving his desired results.

This same level of incompetence was displayed during his "build the wall" fight.
When both house and senate was being controlled by the Republicans, Trump never mentioned
the wall only to start fighting after the Dems took the house. He could have also introduced bill about
DACA during the same period.

One would expect a sensible person to act from the position of strength.
