NYSC / NYSC Gives Conditions For Payment Of Allowances by Yarnvibes(f): 8:09am On May 02, 2017
Officials of the Lagos State NYSC confirmed that most corps members in the state feel nonchalant in joining other corps members to carry out community development projects.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has made it mandatory for corps members to attend its Community Development programme popularly known as CDs.

This is to ensure that only corps members who attend the CDs would be able to access their allowances and become more serious in helping to develop their host communities.

Officials of the Lagos State NYSC confirmed that most corps members in the state feel nonchalant in joining other corps members to carry out community development projects.

To achieve a strict monitoring of the serving corps members, a biometric attendance of the CD programme has been deployed to capture their data through fingerprints with scanners.

Checks revealed that the reason for the biometric attendance is to ensure that no one signs the attendance register and card for another person during the CDs days knowing it would be impossible for someone to have another person’s fingerprints.

It also ensured that the total number of corps members that attend CD meetings on every CD days are captured and guaranteed that corps members become more dedicated in their service to the nation by helping to develop their host communities, among others.

The Oshodi-Isolo local government area in Lagos State amongs other local government areas in the state have adopted this new development, ensing that all corps members posted to the local government pass through this process of attendance.

An NYSC official at the Oshodi-Isolo local government area who spoke with Fabinfos.com on the benefits of the new biometric attendance said: “It is a welcomed development which will help ensure that all corps members get their allowances as and when due as long as they pass through the due process.

This also means that they would not get their allowances if they violate the process. It simply means that no monthly biometric clearance and weekly attendance of CDs, no monthly allowance for such corps members.”

Some of the corps members who were hosted by the Oshodi-Isolo council area aired their views on the development and complained bitterly about the new innovation, saying that it makes the whole process slow, especially the general CD meetings, which are usually attended by all corps members in different CD groups.

Crime / JAMB: I Created 400 User Names, Got 600,000 To Hack Website – Suspect by Yarnvibes(f): 9:16am On May 01, 2017
Following Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps’ arrest of a syndicate in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, the suspects have confessed how they erected a radio mast to hack the Virtual Private Network of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB.

The syndicate, including a proprietor of one Bright Technologies, confessed to collecting N600,000 for the illegal job.

The hacker’s wife and other accomplices were also arrested by the NSCDC crack team from Abuja. Other suspects, identified only as Segun and Jide, are at large.

One of the suspects, identified only as Tosin, said the deal was to extend the JAMB network from an accredited Computer Based Test centre in Abeokuta to some cyber cafe operators for the purpose of illegal registration of candidates for the 2017 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

During the interrogation, the proprietor, who confessed to the crime, said he was paid over N600,000 for the job, adding that he created over 400 User Names and passwords.

He told the operatives, “We are using unlicensed spectrum to transmit to our customers using 2.4 gigabyte and 5.8 gigabyte radio. On March 28, they came from Kindle e-Learning Service that they wanted Internet services and after three days, they came again, (Tosin, Segun and Jide) that they wanted us to configure VPN for them.

“They told me they needed our services only during the JAMB registration and on April 1, we went to their office. They gave me the IP (Internet Protocol) address and I did pinging from my own Router. I have collected about N600,000 so far from Kindle e-Learning.”

The NSCDC said the gang specialised in high-tech hacking.

JAMB Head of Information, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, said the intention of the group was to completely demobilise the Board process.

He said, “With what we saw, we are of the strong opinion that the DSS should also come in to consolidate on the investigation done by NSCDC.

“This is because if this group has the IP address of any bank; they could take the whole money in the banks.”

Religion / 10 Bible Verses To Read On OVERCOMING TRIALS by Yarnvibes(f): 7:17am On Apr 30, 2017
A lot of people often see Christianity (religion) as having a ticket to the easy life.
This is a huge misconception.

Being a Christian means having faith in someone, other than yourself.

More importantly, it is knowing that you will make it through trials and tribulations because you have God, in your corner.

These 10 bible verses prove this.

1. Psalm 27:1
The LORD is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

2. Psalm 34:17-18
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; He delivers them from all their troubles.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

3. Psalm 91:15
He will call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

4. Psalm 9:9-10
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.
Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.

5. Psalm 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

6. James 1:2
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds.

7. Romans 12:12
Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.

8. James 1:12
Blessed [is] the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

9. Exodus 14:14
The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

10. Matthew 19:26 - But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Use these whenever you faced with life's challenges.

Education / How I Will Save Nigeria Of At Least N5billion In 2017 UTME – JAMB Registrar by Yarnvibes(f): 7:54am On Apr 28, 2017
The Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) has said arrangements have been concluded for interested candidates to write the mock examination of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) this Saturday, April 29.

The Registrar of JAMB, Is-haq Oloyede, made this known Wednesday in Abuja during a training session organized to equip over 1600 JAMB staff as well as external resource persons drawn across the 36 states of the country.

Mr. Oloyede, a professor, said internal and external personnel would monitor the 633 Computer Based Tests centres across the country for the UTME exams.

Mr. Oloyede said under his watch, JAMB would deploy cost-effective measures to deliver on its statutory mandate.

He said the CBT adopted in the forthcoming UTME would save the examination body about N5 billion.

“Instead of spending billions on our examinations, we can spend millions and achieve better results. That is all I have been struggling to do, to make sure that instead of collecting N7 billion and spending N6.8 billion in the conduct of examination, we should be able to save at least N5 billion,” he stressed.

While noting that there are skepticism on the part of some Nigerians about the workings of new innovations, the Registrar said he was optimistic of taking JAMB to the next level, regardless of challenges.

“Yes, some people argue that in Nigeria, there are many variables that you cannot determine. I have strong faith in this country and I believe that whatever works in normal places will work in Nigeria,” he added.

On the 2017 UTME slated to begin on May 13, Mr. Oloyede said his team is prepared to conduct a hitch-free examination across all centres of the country.

“I and my colleagues in JAMB management have tried our best and have prepared as much as we can. We also believe in our partners, MTN and Airtel which are our two service providers in the conduct of this examination and I want to appeal to them to see this as a national assignment.”

He added that the CBT, which was adopted a few years ago was actually his initiative while he was Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin.

“CBT started at the University of Ilorin in 2007 and by the grace of God, I was the Vice Chancellor who started it.”

Meanwhile, the mock test earlier shelved by JAMB is set to hold this Saturday 29th April, 2017 and Mr. Oloyede promised the challenges which scuttled the initial exercise would be taken care of this time.

Nairaland / General / 6 Basic LIFE Skills You Should Learn by Yarnvibes(f): 7:33am On Apr 28, 2017
Life skills are skills you need to learn to make the most out of life. You can’t afford to leave the ‘nest’ without these basic life skills if you want to succeed; besides there’s nothing worse than going out into the world feeling overwhelmed and ill-equipped to handle your own life.

Jumia Travel share 6 life skills you definitely should learn to take charge of your own life.

Personal Skills
These are essential skills you need to maintain a healthy body and mind. They enhance your understanding of the world and improve your quality of life. They primarily include how you recognize, manage and cope with your emotions and the emotions of others around you (emotional intelligence); an awareness of the benefits of a healthy diet and the need for exercise or physical activity; and home and personal care skills.

Interpersonal Communication Skills
You need to learn how to properly communicate your thoughts, opinions and ideas if you truly want to succeed. Interpersonal communication skills are skills we use to interact directly with other people to promote understanding and clarification, and to avoid misunderstandings. These skills are particularly important for effective negotiations and for problem solving and decision making especially in the workplace.

Literacy: Reading and Writing Skills
The beauty of these skills is that you don’t need to go to school to learn them. If you are determined enough, even if you can’t afford an education, you can solicit the help of a friend or relative who has these skills and learn it from them. Being able to read and write is a means to arm yourself with the most powerful tool for success – knowledge. It is also a powerful way to communicate your thoughts and intentions.

Numeracy Skills
You don’t need to be great at mathematics or become a rocket scientist to have basic numeracy skills, you just need an understanding of the basic principles of day-to-day numeracy, arithmetic and maths and this alone can open many doors for you. Numeracy skills gives you a great boost in life business wise, they make you more employable, save you time and money, help you avoid being cheated etc.

Life Management and Organization Skills
These include keeping your finances organized, time management, knowing how to live within your means, knowing how to ask for things you want, knowing how to say ‘no’ to things outside your plan or budget and how to compromise when necessary, being able to manage your expenses and avoid overspending etc. Until you master these particular skills, your life will continue to control you rather than you being in control of your life.

General Conscientiousness
This is basically being aware of your surroundings, being able to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations, being socially responsible and avoiding things like driving while drunk, being s*xually responsible and just generally being responsible and being prepared for emergency situations.

RIP
Celebrities / Bollywood Actor, Vinod Khanna, Dies At 70 by Yarnvibes(f): 1:16pm On Apr 27, 2017
Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna, known as the heartthrob of Hindi films in the 1970s and 1980s, died on Thursday at a Mumbai hospital.
He was 70.
Khanna, who was also a film producer and a politician, died at the HN Reliance Foundation hospital, a hospital spokesman confirmed.
He was suffering from cancer.

Khanna made his debut in films in 1968, after which he went on to become one of the Hindi film industry’s biggest stars over two decades.

He is remembered for his performances in “Mere Apne” (My Own), “Mera Gaon Mera Desh” (My Village, My Country) in which he played the role of a villain, “Kucche Dhage” (Fragile Thread)” and “Achanak” (Suddenly).

The 1977 star-studded “Amar Akbar Anthony” about three brothers separated at birth was one of his most popular films.

“His screen presence is unparalleled even today .. .his superstar swag is what we grew up on,” film producer Karan Johar posted on Twitter.

At the peak of his career in 1982, Khanna suddenly left the industry to connect with spirituality at the ashram of his guru Rajneesh, or Osho.

He returned to Bollywood after five years and acted in two box office successes “Insaaf” (Justice) and “Satyamev Jayate” (Truth Triumphs).

“He epitomized the kind of actor and gentleman we don’t see any more,” film critic Shubhra Gupta said. “Vinod Khanna and Amitabh Bachchan were the best entertainers in the 1970s and 1980s.”

Khanna married twice and has four children, including actor Akshaye Khanna.

He was a sitting member of the Lok Sabha, or the lower house of parliament, and represented India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party.

Nairaland / General / 6 Important Mindsets You Need To Succeed by Yarnvibes(f): 6:49am On Apr 26, 2017
Life doesn’t just happen to you unless you let it, and your life will continually feel out of your control because you have chosen to relinquish control. In the end, your life is ultimately your creation and your mindset is the most important tool you need to shape it.

Jumia Travel share 6 important mindsets you need to succeed.

Self-Discovery is a Process
Life and living is a journey, therefore understand the process and be patient with it. Don’t be impatient and hurry through the different stages of your life. In the end you will have missed a lot of what you shouldn’t miss and have too many regrets. Be open to explore the unknown and be strong enough to deal with, embrace and learn from surprises and bumps along the way.

You are Responsible for Your Life
You need to learn to take responsibility for your life. You truly begin to live when you decide your life is your own and you alone are responsible for the quality of it, with no apologies, no excuses and no one to blame.

Not Everything Goes as Planned
Unfortunately, though most people know this, they often times forget. You need to understand that life isn’t perfect and things will not always turn out like you planned or imagined. This is why you need to learn to create safety nets and have back-up plans or measures in place to deal with these setbacks. Don’t let things take you unawares.

There is a Way Through, Under or Above Every Obstacle
Thomas Edison tried 1000 ways to create a light bulb. This man was resilient in a way that was almost ridiculous and at the 1001th try, he got it. Be like that. Learn persistence and resilience, understand that there is always a way out and don’t give up until you find it. What matters is not the obstacle but how you see it, react to it and if you keep your composure through it.

Done is Better than Perfect
It is important you understand that continuous improvement is better than perfection. Perfectionism is unhealthy primarily because it’s an unhealthy combination of high standards and brutal self-criticism. Truth is, the real world doesn’t reward perfectionists; the real world rewards people who get things done.

You Can Do It
Believe in yourself. Believe that you have what it takes to succeed, if you don’t, aside a miracle, there is little that can help you succeed. Even if by some amazing stroke of luck you do succeed, it won’t last because you don’t have what it takes to maintain it. Learn to believe in yourself.

Car Talk / Top 8 Most Fuel Efficient Cars by Yarnvibes(f): 11:34am On Apr 22, 2017
We all know Nigeria’s erratic fuel price situation – one moment it’s up and the next it’s down. The current removal of fuel subsidy has helped stabilize the price a bit, but it’s still on the high side compared to the low prices we once enjoyed. At this point, fuel efficient cars are more or less a blessing to Nigerians. Jumia Travel , the leading online travel agency shares 8 of the most fuel efficient cars to consider the next time you’re in the car market.

Hyundai Sonata
This is a comfortable ride with great rear-seat room. It’s affordable and has a sound and responsive handling. It has an estimated fuel economy rating is within the range of about 8.5 kilometers per liter to about 13.9 Km/L.

Toyota Camry
Regardless of your reservations about Toyota cars, one thing you have to admit is that they deliver most of what consumers want in a midsized car. It is comfortable to drive, cheaper and easier to maintain than other car brands. The Toyota Camry offers a kind of ‘no-fuss’ driving experience with sound handling and a roomy and comfortable interior that makes it a pleasant car to drive. Its estimated fuel economy within the range of about 9.8 Km/L to about 13.6 Km/L.

Mitsubishi Mirage
This is another affordable car with an inviting image of economy and thriftiness. However, the vehicle still deals with issues of sluggish acceleration, a not-so-good handling and a not so powerful engine. Nevertheless, the car is reasonably roomy, cheap and economical. Its estimated fuel economy within the range of about 11.2 Km/L to about 17.3 Km/L.

Toyota Rav4
This SUV provides a strong blend of fuel efficiency, comfort, roominess and reliability. It’s a great family car with sound handling, quiet with a commendable performance. It has an estimate fuel economy range of about 12.75 Km/L to about 15.73 Km/L.

Toyota Corolla
The Corolla provides a comfortable experience for drivers. It’s quiet and spacious with a secure and reasonably sound handling. It also has a roomy interior and one of the roomiest rear seats. Its estimated fuel economy range is from about 10.00 Km/L to about 13.7 Km/L.

Kia Forte
With a generous and comfortable interior room and an engine similar to Hyundai Elantra, the ride has a secure but not very agile handling. It’s also fairly absorbent, tending to feel a bit to tender when encountering sharp bumps, but it has a great engine with logically arranged controls. Its estimate fuel economy rating is within the range of about 10.7 Km/L to about 14.5 Km/L.

Mazda3
This is a fun to drive car with a perky handling and great engine. It is one of the most fuel efficient cars and offers some luxury features that are rare for compact cars in its category, although it’s not particularly as roomy as the others but it’s still very ok. Its estimated fuel economy range is from about 10.6 Km/L to about 13.9 Km/L.

Honda Civic
This car delivers great fuel economy, is comfortable with precise handling, a spacious interior but unfortunately not the most reliable car out there. It’s however capable and refined with a reasonably powerful engine. Its estimated fuel economy range is from about 12.3 Km/L to about 13.9 Km/L.

Romance / 6 Ways To Spot A Healthy Relationship by Yarnvibes(f): 11:05am On Apr 22, 2017
A healthy relationship is something to be desired but not all relationships are admirable, beneficial or healthy; that is a fact. And sometimes, we can spot these crazy, dysfunctional relationships from a mile away. At other times, however, what we thought was a marriage or relationship made in heaven is actually an unhealthy, unpalatable experience for those involved.

Whenever we discover the truth about some of these not-so-rosy relationships, we may be surprised wondering how they were absolutely no signs to give us insight into the true state of affairs. The truth is that there are always signs; they may not have been as obvious as in other cases.

We need to know what makes up a healthy relationship not only to help those who might be prone to choosing wrong relationships but also for our sakes; so that we can avoid unhealthy relationships.

Here are some ways to determine if a relationship is healthy:

1. Acceptance
Healthy relationships are founded on the basis of acceptance of each other. No meaningful relationship can do without acceptance of the qualities, strengths and flaws of each other.

When people accept each other, it means that they know what they were going into before taking up the relationship. There is hardly room for confusion or unrealistic expectations in such a relationship. This contributes greatly to peace and happiness of such a relationship.

Only people who have accepted themselves can truly acceptance so the starting point for mutual acceptance in a healthy relationship is that both parties know and love their own selves just the way they are.

2. Compassion and Empathy
One of the main ingredients of a healthy relationship is that both partners are kind and compassionate towards each other. They look out for each other and look to love and serve each other as against waiting for what they can get or how much the other person has contributed.

Healthy relationships are also marked by empathy and understanding from both partners. They are able to put each other in consideration in the things they do without becoming people-pleasers or pretenders. The starting point for this is that each partners has learnt how to take care of him/herself with kindness and compassion.

3. Conflict Management
Conflicts arise in all relationships but the difference is that in healthy relationships, conflicts are resolved in such a way that brings about meaningful resolution of issues and allows either or both parties to learn from it.

One of the marks of proper conflict resolution in a relationship is that both partners listen to the other person’s point of view with a desire to understand and are not more concerned about making a point or winning arguments.

In healthy relationships, conflict is used as an opportunity to learn, improve or adjust and not as an tool to malign or control each other.

4. Trust
Trust is a necessary ingredient of every good and balanced relationship; both partners have a faith that the other person will not deliberately do anything to harm or hurt them. They also have faith that they are both committed to seeking each other’s wellbeing and happiness. This kind of trust means that negative assumptions are not suddenly made about the other person’s actions; they believe the best of each other and do not live in suspicion.

Trust in a relationship also means that attempts are made clarify and understand any behaviour that is inconsistent with the expectations they have of each other.

5. Enjoyment of Company
A relationship is not a good one if one or both are sticking around despite the fact that they do not enjoy the other person’s company. It makes no sense.

For a relationship to be fulfilling and meaningful that both parties must enjoy being together even though they do not cling to each other all the time.

6. Independence

Healthy relationships are also marked by independence on both sides. This means that both sides have made a choice to be together and be inter-dependent not because they cannot function individually without each but because they love and are fond of each other.

They should still be able pursue individual interests and maintain personal friendships and possession even though are in a committed relationship. This should also earn support from their partners.

Attah who said the Director-General of the Scheme, Suleiman Kazaure, directed that the three wheelchairs be presented to three physically challenged people who are indigent in the state, added that the choice of Ede was to further strengthen the love that has existed between the two for decades now. The NYSC coordinator said, “the DG is not only passionate about the welfare of corps members and its staff but also about the community in which we find ourselves.”

Attah noted that the choice of Ede was not by accident, but because it hosts the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, saying the town remains the first point of call for any corps members coming to Osun State. “And in honour and respect to our father, the Timi of Ede, Oba Muniru Lawal, Laminisa l, we cannot but start with the host community with this three chairs to be given to the physically challenged. More of this chairs are still been expected to be distributed to other people,” he said.

He disclosed that the wheelchairs are being distributed all over the country, saying, “I urge philanthropists in our society to do whatever they could do for the indigenes, as a means of showing gratitude and paying our own tithe to God. We are here with three wheel chairs to be distributed. It is going on in all the states of the federation. We look to the town for support in the protection of lives of corps members.

However, Attah used the occasion to inform the people that another orientation camp will begin on May 15, 2017, urging the intending corpers to get prepared and do all that is necessary for the orientation. The beneficiaries of the wheelchairs are: Shittu Toibat, Azeez Rafiu, Jimoh Lukman, the trio being indigenes of Ede town.

Speaking, Oba Lawal expressed gratitude to the NYSC for choosing Ede as the first place, to begin the gesture, assuring that the town would continue to support the scheme.

“We received the gesture with joy and happiness. When the news got to me that NYSC was coming to donate wheel chair to the less privileged, I was so happy. That’s why we tried to gather the three people out of many that we have in our community, at least to benefit from the gesture of NYSC. We are very grateful and the community is very happy.

“If those that are well to do within the community can just emulate the gesture of NYSC, it would have been better, because we have so many people like these less privilege among us within the community that can be helped. With the wheel chair now, they can be able to move from one point to another, even instead of begging around, they can be using this one as movement that will assist them on earning their day-to-day living and they will be comfortable.

“So, we want to enjoin those people that are well to do within our community to please emulate this gesture and give assistance to the less privileged so that our community will be better. We extend our appreciation to the NYSC community for deeming it fit to start the programme in Ede. We are assuring you of our continuous support.”

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Lukman, appreciated the gestures for the less privileged, praying that NYSC would not lose any of its corps in the town.

Business / FG Empowers Women Group To Boost Small Business Operations by Yarnvibes(f): 9:08am On Apr 19, 2017
In line with Federal Government’s Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP) initiative meant to encourage the development of Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria attain financial prosperity, 1,250 women have been trained to benefit from soft loans needed for their businesses.

To this end, non-interest soft loans of between N10,000 and N100,000 will be disbursed to the women wing of the National Association of Nigeria Traders (NANTS).

The loan, which is payable within six months is meant to encourage women who constitute 65 percent of the association’s membership profile to boost their small scale businesses and contribute to the economic revival of the country.

The Bank of Industry (BoI) will be responsible for the screening of beneficiaries while the fund will be disbursed through commercial banks.

Speaking at a capacity building exercise in Abuja, the President of the association Ken Ukaoha warned beneficiaries not to see the largesse as a national cake, rather they should make accountability and prudence their watchword.

His words: “The money is a micro credit for six months and the capacity building is for you to know the objective of the fund, how to access it and use it effectively in order to add value to your lives and the economy at large.

He said the association will continue to screen and enrol members into the scheme adding that though the loan do not attract any interest, the association on its own had put in place, some internal mechanism to checkmate defaulting tendencies.

The leader of the group Rose Agbo described the intervention as God-sent.

Education / 2017 UTME: 9 Tips To Score High In Your JAMB Exam by Yarnvibes(f): 2:58pm On Apr 18, 2017
JAMB is the most biggest exam ever in Nigeria. A candidate is assigned to do and conclude this exam in just a day. That one day will determine your next move academically. I mean Maybe you will sit at home if you fail it by having a low score or Have the chance of gaining admission if you pass it with a high and meaningful score.

I will never forget to tell you the best thing to achieve a High Score in JAMB. You just have to ready and read without ceasing. Attempt Past questions overnight. Forget about your boo’s issue and do what will benefit you academically. Then leave the rest for Almighty God to take control.

Well, We all know JAMB will not encourage and advice you to involve in MALPRACTICE. But they know it exists. To be sincere, nobody wants to fail ooo. We also understand that our brains are not equal.

During the exam You can’t reason the way I do. I can’t reason they way you do. The truth is that everybody wants to score high in JAMB but everybody ain’t that brilliant and intelligent to tackle JAMB exam and Score like 280+
JAMB is the true test of ability.

The exam is quite different from WAEC/ NECO because they are based on ‘normed’ grades. This means your grades in those exams depend on general performance.

Those exams are also just a test of your rudimentary knowledge of topics.

Here are 9 Tips To Score High In Your JAMB Exam

1. Make sure you get a syllabus to know what you are required to know in each subject.

2. Make sure you understand the difference between similar things e.g Cartillage, muscles because they dont just test whether you have an idea but if you know the difference between pretty similar things

3. For calculation based subjects, JAMB options are actually based on misconceptions i.e if you don’t understand well, your wrong answer will also be available.

4. Get as many past questions as possible. When you practice make sure you confirm your answers from reputable textbooks and not ‘Hungry authors’ with wuruwuru answers

5. Work on your speed and accuracy because its a test of both, there’s no point knowing all the answers but not being able to finish.

6. You must attempt the simple questions first.

7. With your familiarity with past questions, you will discover the areas where questions usually come from & you can quickly pick on your areas of strength first.

8. Try to sleep early the day before the exam so that you can wake up fresh.

9. Even if you are not able to cover syllabus, don’t panic, approach the exam center with confidence.

10. Lastly, JAMB Repeats 60% of Past Questions in Exams.

Most times candidates do ask me this “Does JAMB repeat past questions?” 100% Yes, They do.

I did my personal research On my findings, I discovered a shocking truth.

JAMB do repeat past questions. It’s not their faults that they do repeat past questions. The fact is that there are no new questions to ask.

Celebrities / Lota Chukwu "Kiki": 15 Things You Never Knew About Jenifas Diary Actress by Yarnvibes(f): 9:17am On Apr 17, 2017
Apart from her role in comedy series Jenifa’s Diary, not much is known about the actress, Lota Chukwu.

She recently shared 15 things people may not know about her on her blog!

1). My full name is Ugwu Lotachukwu Jacinta Obianuju Amelia. I named myself Elixir, its the drink of the gods in Ancient Greek and it’s the source of their eternal youth and beauty (I’m a big fan of mythologies). And yes, with a face like this, the potion does exist.

2). I’m very, what I like to call ‘God-aware’. I’m not a Christian (Christ-like) yet, but I think about God in anything thing I do, not that it prevents me from committing sin all the time though. I guess it comes from my name “Lotachukwu” which means “remember God”. I am very scared of The Big Guy, and I try to make amends in my own little way, Like I don’t have s*x the day before I travel. Just one of little things silly things I do to make amends in case I die on the road.

3). My mum is the greatest human influence in my life. And she’s nothing like Prof. Dora Akunyili or the likes, she’s just her and that’s all I want to be. She taught me consciously and unconsciously just about every way I live my life

4). I’m a single mum with 4 kids I’d do anything for. And I have a boyfriend called Andre and he rides a 2004 toyota rav4.

5). I’m wired weird. Lol. I don’t see things from the usual or socially acceptable POV. And the quickest way to my heart is to respect my opinion.

6). I am very beautiful but that’s not what makes me attractive. There’s just something about me. Yep, no one has figured it out yet. Personally, I think It’s not just the fact that I’m witty, smart, intelligent, beautiful, selfless, honest, goofy, playful, or the fact that I’m a decent human being with a great sense of humor, it’s the amazing way it’s all combined. And that was me being modest.

7). I’m an optimist. So yeah for me, life is always the sunny side up. I’ve had bad things happen to me, so I understand it could always have being worse. So when things happen and everyone else is complaining and I can’t be bothered, just remember, I see my glass as always half full.

cool. I’m a hopeless romantic with a filthy mind. And that’s putting it mildly on both counts.

9). I’m a Sagittarian royalty. A Sagittarius through and through. Wise like the centaur and straight like an arrow.

10). I talk to myself a lot when I’m alone, which is almost all the time. The reason is simple. I am one of the smartest people I know, and I am easy to talk to and I give great advice. Do you think I’m too old to be a therapist?

11). I have a dance routine to all my favorite songs. So everytime you see me singing, just know there’s an Indian movie thing going on in my head.

12). I’m a sucker for love. Yep, I’m still searching for my one, true love and don’t dare tell me true love doesn’t exist. So it’s understandable that My greatest fear is ‘settling’ into marriage. Getting married for a reason other than “he makes me happy and I’m head over heels in love with him”.

13). I’ve never gone out on a romantic date before, like a dinner or a movie date. Neither have I ever had breakfast in bed or received flowers. At my age, just imagine. Smh

14). I know what my future holds and it doesn’t scare me. I won’t say I see my future, but I’ve always known how It would turn out, I guess that’s my gift. So I know I won’t live till old age. Maybe 35/40 tops, and I’ve accepted that. So love me while you can. But then again, maybe the world will end before y’all can get a chance to eat my funeral rice.
*ntoi*

15). I was made to be a star.
I know I’m boring but I don’t care *yawns*

Phones / 12 Reasons Why Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Is Better Than Apple’s Iphone 7 For Business by Yarnvibes(f): 1:47am On Apr 17, 2017
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be arriving into the hands of buyers this week. It is the best smartphone in the world and offers several enhancements over the iPhone 7.

While the Samsung Galaxy S8 pushes the limits of smartphone technology, the Apple iPhone 7 remains extremely popular and is preferred by millions. The iPhone 7 Plus is a solid enterprise device that is found in the hands of many business people.

Samsung just revealed the new Galaxy S8 while all the rest of the major announcements have been completed over the past two months.

After attending the Samsung Galaxy S8 launch event, I put together my best 10 smartphones post for the first part of 2017. The Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus was selected for the top spot.

Reports from Samsung indicate it has already pre-sold more than 728,000 units with a target of 1 million prior to the 21 April launch date.

Here are 12 reasons to consider the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus instead of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, which was selected in the second spot of my 10 best smartphones.

1. Display : The Galaxy S8 Plus has a 6.2 inch display with no side bezels and small top and bottom bezels. It is also narrower than the Apple iPhone 7 Plus that has a 5.5 inch display. Independent testing also shows the Galaxy S8 has the highest rated display of all smartphones.

2. Fast charging and wireless charging :
Actual battery life testing remains to be conducted for the Galaxy S8. However, if you do need to top off, it only takes a few minutes via USB Type-C or a wireless dock. It’s a bit frustrating to charge up an iPhone 7 Plus, which explains why there is such a large market for slap on battery packs.

3. microSD expansion : The iPhone 7 Plus has three memory configurations available with the largest capacity 256GB being more than enough for most people. The Galaxy S8 Plus offers 64GB internal with a microSD storage card slot so you can pop inexpensive storage cards in and out as you please.

4. Gorilla Glass 5 : Apple has glass on the front and metal on the back while the Galaxy S8 has glass on the front and back. However, this glass is Gorilla Glass 5 that is designed for increased drop protection over previous glass panels, surviving 1.6 meter, shoulder height drops.

5. Multiple security options : With the Galaxy S8, you can set it up to unlock via facial recognition, iris scanning, fingerprint, pattern, PIN, or a password. The iPhone 7 Plus has a fast fingerprint scanner with options for a password or PIN, but Samsung’s iris scanner may be a more convenient and secure option.

6. Samsung DeX: People use their smartphones for everything today and with Samsung DeX , users now have the option to leave the laptop behind. I’ll be testing this exact capability on two upcoming business trips. Apple has no ability to extend the iPhone to an external display.

7. Virtual reality: Samsung continues to improve its virtual reality experience with a handheld controller now included with the Gear VR. While VR can be used for games or media viewing, there are also enterprise reasons for VR. These include presenting virtual walk-throughs of engineering designs, medical procedure reviews, and interactive presentations.

8. Bixby : There is a ton of potential in Samsung Bixby as it looks to improve the efficiency and productivity of the user. Unfortunately, Bixby’s voice assistant won’t be ready at launch so we will only get a glimpse of the Bixby service with a home screen panel similar to Google Now. With a dedicated button on the Galaxy S8, Samsung is committed to making Bixby all it promises to be and I look forward to making regular tasks more convenient and intuitive.

9. Bluetooth 5.0 : You may not have seen or heard that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will be the first phones to launch with Bluetooth 5.0 support. Bluetooth 5.0 improves the connectivity performance, extends the range of Bluetooth, and allows you to connect two Bluetooth headphones to one Galaxy S8 at the same time.

10. Samsung Pay: Apple Pay is popular, but nothing beats Samsung Pay when it comes to the number of retail locations that are supported and the technology that allows you to replace your credit or debit card. I made a couple of purchases with my Gear S3 smartwatch using Samsung Pay at a location that stated it did not accept wireless payments. More banks are added regularly and Samsung also offers a ton of promotions to encourage Samsung Pay use.

11. Headphone jack : While Apple thinks it was courageous to take away the headphone jack, most people still use headphones with a standard 3.5mm connector. Samsung’s purchase of Harman last year, buyers receive a nice pair of wired headphones in the box. While I appreciate and use Bluetooth headphones quite often, a 3.5mm headphone jack is convenient and economical while not having to worry about charging up another device.

It’s clear that Samsung continues to push smartphone technology forward and Apple is looking a bit dated with the iPhone 7. However, Apple still offers a compelling experience as well and not all of Samsung’s ideas and technologies are vital to the daily usage needs of all users.

Stay tuned for a full review of the Samsung Galaxy S8, S8 Plus, and accessories.
