yarimo: (1) If I messaged you and you are online without response in a reasonable time I will unfriend you even if you later reply I won't reply you forever. (2) If i messaged you and it shown seen without reply in a reasonable time I will unfriend you (3) If you reply my message within a minute I will reply within a minute, if you reply in the next 5 minutes I will reply you in the next 5 minutes too. Take it easy, life doesn't work that way. There are many reasons some people don't reply their messages as expected , it is not necessarily mean they snubs or intentionally doing that. 1. It possible not to see some important messages especially if you are busy and have many waiting messages on your list. 2. You may read a message and had your battery got flat when about to reply. 3. You may want to reply a message but something suddenly happened that you need to attend to avoid personal damages or problems. 4. You may prefer to call the person later especially if you are busy. 5. You may be at a place you can't reply a message or make calls. 6. You may see someone messages, ready to reply but got carried away by another thing and totally forgot. It is not always that the person is not important, it is just possible to have your mind skip off sometimes 7. You may have network issue.. If you are into business and always very busy, you won't be quick to jump into conclusions when someone didn't reply your message or call. You need to wait and possibly call the person back after two days, if they do the same, then you can wait for weeks before you take your final decision on them. |

What your grand father must have told you about are Leopard, which most Africans at the time mistook for Tiger. Tigers aren’t built for the African terrain/wildlife….if in doubt, let’s see how these two tigers released into the wild would fare in a few months time. Tiger might not be native to Africa but can well survive in tropical rain forest. It is possible there might be tigers in some Africa forests brought some centuries ago. |

I had the opportunity of visiting the zoo about 3times, the lions’ den had high perimeter metal wire (about 20m high) round it. The lion probably broke out from the rotten metal wire. I went to the same zoo about 10 years ago, if you see the horrible state of wire metal around the lions den, you will be surprise how those working there did not raise alarm and fix it with new wire. Even we the visitors had to flee the place immediately we saw it that day. I am very sure the same wire will still be there till this moment. Kenochi: I have always believed that the biggest problem we face is not hunger, poverty or economic issues but our leaders being not innovative or finding creative ways to solve our problems I strongly believe that until the Local Governments become economic drivers of the Economy, we are just going round in circles This report clearly justifies what some of us have believed, that the country is not producing enough food fo the populace and commercial use I suggested on a previous thread that the 774 local governments should be encouraged to own Farm settlements operated or either by lease to small scale farmers or private corporations The states should provide logistics to evacuate the farm products, infrastructure and Security for this settlements The Federal Government will create Silos in each Senatorial Districts and will be a buyer of last resort to this farmers
Imagine if each local government took up crops which can thrive in their locality and get the people back to work,it will be a matter of time before we create Wealth across the Land This type of wealth is sustainable because it is from bottom to the top and not the other way round The Local Governments will be encouraged to compete against themselves and the best Agricultural friendly LGA will be given awards and Cash grants I believe that in every problems, there are workable solutions but it seems in Nigeria we have a way of turning simple problems into hard mountains of solutions that can never be resolved You started very well until you mentioned states. Nigeria has no business with state government, infact state government are the architect of our problem in this country. State are waste of resources, share this funds among 774 local governments and see tremendous advancement within 4 years. Why we must eradicate state and embrace local governments. 1. They are within our reach and highly accessible. You can walk up to them as ordinary citizen, association, and student to demand for your right. 2. Small size nature of local governments will make development faster and judiciously monitoring by both local authority and residents. 3. It very easy to maintain security at local governments level. Crime rate tend to be arrested fast as majority of people usually cooperate to fish out the perpetrators. 4. Farming and allocation of land is more effective and highly manage under local governments. Tractors, cheap fertiliser and land can be easily access at local governments level by the residents. 5. Commerce and industry are better off in the hands of local governments. Taxes are easy to collect, and defaulters can be easily penalised. 6. Local governments runs inclusive administration. Landlords associations, artisans, marketers, trade unions, transport unions, local vigilantes are always part of local governments administration. 7. It is not easy for local governments to embezzled fund like state or federal government, this because, majority of chairmen and councilors are resident or part of the community. People know them, their families and their history, therefore, they are always reminded by those mentioned in no.6 to do the right thing. In addition, public transport, power generation, social security can be easily maintain under local governments administration. For instance, local governments can easily construct and control solar system to generate power for the resident. The advantage is endless. ##Endstatesandembracelocalgovernments## |

As a Reverend, Evangelist, or whatever position you hold in the church, there are certain things you shouldn't be caught doing, and this is one of them.
I remember a guy I used to evangelize with who was dating a lady. I warned him to be careful about what they do with their "privates" because one mistake could ruin his reputation and future. He brushed off my concerns, saying his flesh was not weak.
Fast forward a couple of months, and the guy suddenly announced a date for their introduction and traditional marriage. I was taken aback and asked him how he could be getting married in 21 days and I am just hearing about it.
He simply said I wouldn't understand. oh yea, I don't understand shit and that is the problem.
Next, the date is shifted to two weeks. Bros come dey lean like person wey no dey chop.
Nah then I come understand wetin happen, he don give the girl belle. A lady who is old enough to open her legs to have unprotected sex have no moral right to complain being dump after getting pregnant. Pastors are humans too, though we expect too much from them, forgotten they are just flesh like us. If the pastor had unprotected sex with her, was she so dumb or silly that it could lead to pregnancy if she didn't take a pile or on family planning program? I don't blame the pastor but the lady. |

Some people are too quick to tribalise every issue on Nairaland. The most horrible thing that would've ever happened to the North are terrorism and kidnapping. These people has never for once protest and think of any solution to it. When it occurred that the activities of Herdsmen has tremendously increased in the South, West and South East came up with a solution by creating local security outfit, what has North done so far to assist federal government to eradicate this menace in their land? Only an ignorant person will see their calling for protest as good will, it purely political in reality. We had gone so deep in the mess by this present political arrangements and APC , the only protest we should focus on or demand now is regionalism, constitutional amendment or dissolution of Nigeria. |

If they don't criticise him, how did they insisted that presidency must come from South? Where did End sars protest first took place? I agreed Tinubu did not criticise him, so if you are in his shoes eying presidency, you will criticise someone who can outrightly denied you the ticket? As far as Nigeria backwards politics is concerned, you don't criticise them unnecessarily, especially if they have the key to your success. When Fulani herdsmen kept terrorising Ibadan and other smaller towns, Igboho and other South west governors raised up against them by forming vigilantes groups and Amotekun. Here is Arewa who turned blind eyes against serious insecurity and terrorism ravaging their land for the past 10 years. To even think that these elements kept mute for 8 years during Buhari administration is one of five wonders of the world.
The point is that, what has these people, especially Arewa has been doing concerning insecurity in their land? What measures or resolutions did they made so far since all this years? Any call by Arewa or Northern groups is only motivated by politic.
To me, anyone protesting for anything other than constitutional review, regionalism or dissolution of Nigeria is not wise at all. |

Thieves! Your mate in Western countries (in whuch you people normally emulate), will never see their brothers and sisters go hungry because of personal gains. Some would even give out the food for free, just to ensure food security in their societies. Go to any western countries and see alot of individuals (not rich), organisations, farms, elites and churches give out food periodically withiout being compelled to do so. But here, you have some in your wherehouse, and your brother and sisters were facing surge in price of foods as a result of the activities of your kinds, yet you keep hoarding the food with the aim of selling at extraordinary price for personal gain? Where is humanity in you? Let me tell you fact today, the reason why Nigeria and black rece will never developed is because of lack of love for their countries. No country will ever developed with her citizen placing private interest over public interest. You might think you have an upper hands because there was no written agreement, but what if the man also claims that he promise to pay him double if eventually decided not to sell the car again? He need to apply wisdom in this case. You don't just return people's money when you fail on your part, you offer them interest even before asking. This is the only way you make victims not to feel cheated. In 99% cases, the affected person don't collect interest because they are already at peace with your attitude. |

You made a mistake by sending him back exactly what he paid, you should've at least added something as interest for him.
The man feel cheated, he might even thought you spent his money to solve an issue but used car as a cover up. Don't use the police or take law into your hands if you want peaceful resolution, call some respected or good neighbours to help you beg him that you are ready to add something for him as interest. You may be surprise how easily the issue will be resolved. He may not even collect the interest again after seeing how genuinely sorry you are.
The only option you have now is to beg him. |

Timmi: CBN should not even be selling dollars to private people either as PTA, school fees or medical expenses. Those that want any of these should source for it at the open market. These are the needs of rich people and so let them pay for it. CBN selling to them is affecting every citizen where the overwhelming majority (80-85%) are either poor or middle class, with CBN selling the BTA/PTA/Medical/school expenses in dollar, these ones - the poor and middle class are now subsidizing the rich. The problem is not about selling but ability of those buying to withdraw in cash and sell to BDC at higher rate. Once you are unable to withdraw Dollar notes over the counter here in Nigeria, there is no way you would be able to sell to BDC at higher rate. The only option left for you is to withdraw it in your destination countries. |

I'm sorry for the detour from the topic, but I read a news yesterday and my mind couldn't understand it,some Northern House of Representatives members opposed a bill seeking to amend the constitution to allow only Only B.sc and HND holders contest for election to the post of the President and Governors. Shame on all any Nigerian that still believes a school certificate holder,or a diploma is enough qualification to rule Nigeria. I repeat again shame, shame, shame, shame on these people. A diploma will only get you a bank teller job in a bank,an entry of level 6 into the civil service, but these people feel that kind of certificate is enough to rule Nigeria. Anyone that's intellectually lazy to accquire a HND or B.Sc should never ever be allowed to be a governor,President or even a legislator. Do these people understand how intelligent a president must be, someone who has to read and form opinions from reports he/she will receive from the NSA,from the CBN,From the NNPCL,from more than 30 Ministers,I mean the President must have an opinion on everything going on in the country and in 2024,a Northern Representative feels a Waec certificate or diploma is enough, shame on these people. We must tell these Northern Representative that don't have any shame to have this kind of opinion. Infact Nigerian youths should form a hashtag and shame these Northerns who have this infantile opinion. Back to the Topic,I believe this is the best time for President Tinubu to have the balls to scatter and restructure Nigeria,he must quickly use these hard times to quickly restructure Nigeria. Politics › Re: Realistic Solution To Nigerian Economy by yemmit90: 9:41pm On Feb 14, 2024 |
BennyDGreat: Going by the current economic realities in Nigeria, it has become important for the APC led administration to step up to keep the country together.
Here are some strategies to deploy:
1. Roll out a plan Tinubu administration needs to roll out a detailed solution highlighting how they intend to improve local production in agriculture and manufacturing.
The plan must feature long term and short term solution and must be in the public space for accountability.
2. Give manufacturers soft landing....The government needs to relax on multiple taxes being issued to manufacturers considering the rising cost of production materials, power and product distribution.
Also, duties of importing materials must be slashed.
3. Reduce Government Expenditure- The cost of running governance in Nigeria is too expensive!
If government can implement a 40% cut starting out from June this year, it will give them opportunity to use the monies saved for other developmental projects
Change begins with government before it moves to the people.
4. Fight insecurity-one of the major cause of food shortage is insecurity. It has made it impossible for local farmers to go to farm for fear of being killed.
If the government really wants food sufficiency, guarantee the lives of the local farmers.
5. Allow more private individuals into power-To reduce the current challenges, Nigeria must allow the power industry thrive by choking the corruption within the industry.
Issues within the generation, transmission and distribution networks must be looked into and taken care of.
If different power investors come in knowing their investments won't be put into jeopardy, within 6-12 months, we can witness key infrastructural investment and begin to see some benefits within a few months. Who do you expect to implement those key points you highlighted above? The problem has gone beyond what you think. What is coming , is actually greater than what we are seeing now. The only solution left to fix Nigeria as fast as possible is regionalism or eradicate states and give local governments full autonomy to deal with people directly within their jurisdictions. |
