If the allegation was true, then his family deserves no sympathy from well meaning Nigerians. This should be regards as treasonable offence under which the consequences should attract a death penalty. His single action has thrown alot of families into abject poverty.

Until we stop applying individualistic approach to life in Nigeria, this country will never move forward.

If you sell @ 1490 to the banks , how much do you think they will resell

Can’t we use dollar for only online transactions in this country and any other fiat payment is through naira

Dorm acct should be phase off as well
Reasons government can't do what is right by scrapping BDC, put heavy charges on Dom accounts and allow only online transactions;

1. BDC operators are helping them to exchange looted fund into dollars.

2. All of them has secrets domiciliary account where they keep their ill gotten wealth.

3. Majority of them are into dollar/naira arbitration trading.

4. They save physically in dollars in their underground homes.

5. It is not easy to steal big in Naira, so dollars is their safe heaven to steal enough.

Number 1 enemy of Nigeria is our Politicians, follow by elites, business tycoons, civil servants and the messes.

When they say Economy is so good most of our parent are building mud house and couldn't afford Peugout 504 of 3k Naira den....

Economy was good den buh they've no working to show cement was cheap den buh it's hard for people to build a house...

Now that we say everything is worst and unbearable people are still doing things and achieving far better than when the economy was good....

Right now almost all produce is being arbitrage I think this where the present problem we are facing is coming from due to Naira floating people prefer to sell across to border any goods from Nigeria to make more profit....
It was a result of illegal means of getting money by many Nigerians today. Besides, there were few opportunities to make money then, example is online businesses that some are making big money consistently.

Nigerians don't love their country, that is all I can say. Any society where private interest is more important to her citizens that public interest can hardly developed. If these traders loves their country, they wouldn't have done that for personal gain.
RomanceRe: Man Caught Lady He Trained In School For 7 Years In A Church With Another Man by yemmit90: 10:18pm On Feb 13, 2024
Eriokanmi:
Lol. Stop picking up a girl from the village and training her just because you want to marry her, una no go hear. Oju ti laaa grin.

If you must do this, make sure you pay her bride price and take her in with you. Do the legal thing and let her give you children. She can bag PhD under your roof if you're capable of training her up to that level.
Even some ladies on whom you've paid bride price still look back. I had a gf back in the days. She got married to an American citizen. This man came to do the needful and invited her. He empowered her parents financially.

While she's there, she always chatted me, saying she'd plan on coming home alone and spend some time with me, for the old time's sake. She always disturbed me. I always told her that old times have passed away, and I'm now a new creature. She should stay with her husband. If the man should know all these, he could either kill himself or kill her or do both. If a married lady could go this far, the one you are not yet married to, can do even worse. This is the type that always discourages men from training girls with the hope of marrying her cos there are still God-fearing ones amongst them. But very, very scarce.
Paying her dowry doesn't stop girls from abandoning you if she see a better offer. I personally witnessed one, they did their wedding in which my sister and almost everyone in our area then attended before going for NYSC. After just 3 months into her program, she sent one of her elder sisters to her husband to calculate everything he has spent on her as she had already found her dream husband to whom they had fix another big wedding in Porthacourt where she was serving. To make the matter worse, the girl doesn't even send her former husband or anyone as she usually come to her family house with this rich guy to do yanga for the former guy who stay in the same street with them.

It took the guy several years to come out of the shock and move on. So, if you are to train a woman, let her have all your children before you do so. Even at that, don't expect the same woman you send to school because if you see how some of them fovk around on campuses, you will wonder if they are actually married.
SportsRe: AFCON 2023: Should Jose Peseiro Stay As Super Eagles Boss After Final Loss? by yemmit90: 12:53pm On Feb 13, 2024
spiSeyi:
Nigeria made it to the final by luck angry and football is not a game of luck undecided we need a homebased coach like Amunike who knows and understand our football and culture. Senegal , Ivory-coast and Cameroon worn AFCON in 2017, 2019, 2021 and 2024 with homebased coach, and we did the same in 2013 with Stephen Kechi. Jose Posero only leveraged on the individual talents of our players. A good coach would have sub chukwueze with Simon, start Kelechi and Mofi in the 2nd half then change the formation to 4-2-4 in the second half to mount pressure on Cote d'Ivoir. The best way to defend is to attack wink
If football is not a game of luck, then how did they made it to the final by the same luck?

Football is very easy to analyse from outside, our coach is not that bad as some people think. African football is no longer what it is some years back, you hardly see under dogs again, every team is out there to win a match. Besides, when was the last time you see Eagle playing compassionately like they did in AFCON. He got his tactics wrong in the final match but that doesn't make him a bad coach.

This is not too much considering the cost of running a university system and how much some private primary/secondary schools charge these days. Though faculty due and registration of courses is somehow too much to me.

If only one thing must be subsidy in this world, it should be education at all level. It is very important for any givien society to educate its citizens, and the only way to totally kill illiteracy is through free education.

Modern authority or government is a big scam in this part of the world. It is purely an avenue to enrich selected few with commonwealth.

abhosts:
So it is Buhari that removed petrol subsidy and devalued official naira rate from N450 to N1450 against dollar?
If you read the article well, you will see where he said Nigeria are just borrowing and printing more note to finance this, and the debt servicing has surpassed 100% of our total revenue. In this case, government don't have enough money to pay subsidy except it keep borrowing with already accumulated debt. I am sure you also see where he said some people took advantage of official market, buy low at official rate and sell to black market at double rate.

From this revelation, removal of fuel subsidy and floating market is not a bad idea, just that the time of removal was not right. We should've fixed our refineries, ensure at least moderately stable power before we do so.

But all the same, it is much more better to borrow money to pay subsidy than to borrow it for politicians to embezzled.

When we say Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria, many of you open your mouths to yarn dust. If we all continue to follow this advice, will the Naira ever recover? Yet, we all continue to rant about rising prices, forgetting we also contribute to the menace.
Leaders or government are the reflection of a society. You cant give what you don't have. Every Nigerian from head to bottom don't give damn about their country but only their pockets.

It is so unfortunate that alot of people blaming government on this forum are part of the problems we are facing today. What the guy posted back was the main reason we are in this mess today. If we are to compare the economy of Nigeria to the worth of Dollar, it should not more that #600/$1, but the activities of this unpatriotic elements contribute to its downfall.

Pray, tell us how the Africans see the world before the advent of "the master's eyes"?

Europeans have been plundering the wealth of Africa for the past 500 years (and are still doing till date). If the reverse was the case, Europe will be more impoverished than Africa is, currently
Please stop all this excuses and face the fact. You and I are the reasons Nigeria and Africa at large will remain poor till the end of the time. Majority of Africa countries broke free from these colonial masters as far back as 1950's, so tell me what has your brothers being doing with our common wealth to liberate African from being poorest creature on earth?

If you are conversant with history and human nature, you will understand that Africans are not only living in a "state of nature", but state of perpetual fear and endless greed. When Greeks, Romans and Chinese were busy thinking of how to break free from this obsolete state of nature to modern societies, your Africans brothers were busy wagging war to capturing slaves and cities to dominate.

To cut it short, our problem is cultures and traditions.

Good day people, please I want to know why Africans are so poor. We see pictures of bony children everytime. Why is there poverty and how can we solve it.
Africans are poor because of their cultures and traditions( domineering culture and self elevations). Africans are narrow minded creatures who sees development as private property.

Due to their cultural believes, an average African lacks basic principle of how society are organise. They lacks the seal to understand that it is much more better to apply wholistic approach to development than personal aggrandizements.

The key point is that: an average African dont want his country to develop but only himself. He is fine as long as he has the resources to dominate and made other subjected to him alone.

That’s false! The citizens of those countries are complaining too! Who will you own a house/land for 20 years and later default in payment, only for your house to be foreclosed?

Why do you have to be in debt to succeeed?

In Africa, people are worth their reel value. In the Western world, you can be worth 2 million dollars and your real value is less than 100k.

The whole western dream is an illusion! Soak kids in debt right from college till they die. Is that what you call life? Where people have to race to service debt because they don’t want to get back on the street.

Whats real in the western world? Why they will always cajole you yo even get candy on credit.
You are still saying the same thing, you don't have to worth anything to live a good life. And of course, the irrational people among them will definitely complain about it because in their mind, it is their right to accumulate as much wealth as they can.

Their societies has been programmed in such a way that governments takes care of the children and the old. If government can take care of your needs before you start working and after you stop working, is it a bad idea to work for them too in your active days?

The reality is that, you can't have an egalitarian society with the mentality of an average African.

Truth be told!

Africans are living a better and more secured life. Not in actual security, but future security.

In real sense, you own nothing in the western world. You just need to get it wrong in a big way and you will be back to square one!

You never own outrightly! Taxes will keep hitting you till the day you die. And you just default on those taxes and everything you owned will either be foreclosed or retrieved.

Africans live a more peaceful life but they never appreciate till they are soaked up in debt in another man’s country.
That is what made their countries better. Humans are not suppose to possesse anything apart from good living. What is the uses of accumulated properties and wealths when non of them will follow you to the grave? It was this selfish mentality that kept Africans where they are today.

The Solution To Nigeria FX Problem

How CBN can tackle raising inflation and bring down usd 1$ back to N200 or N500 at most.

1, For Nigerians travelers ( that needs physical cash BTA)
Asign personnel to Exchange fx directly from the Airport only with requirements like visa and traveling ticket evidence.

2, most of the Exchange fx can as well be gotten from the returning at the airport from those who might want to change their fx.

3. A) all Nigerians that needs foreign currency must open an E-naira accounts. Confiscate and mop up all physical foreign currency trading in the market and issue them the digital currency wallet via the e-naira. They can hoard limited fx if they like but it must be digital on the e-naira wallet and not on the physical notes.

B) Create a dollar, pounds, euro wallet account . (At least the major currency Nigerians are mostly using) inside the E-naira platform where people can conveniently move monies from there enaira account at the approved exchange rate converted to all currency wallets. They can as well convert it back to naira wallet any time as needed.

C) Major importers will have to registered with the CBN and ensure they are truly importers and have their limit increases base on their import capacity. No physical dollar will be giving but digital dollars on their e-naire. Also encourage foreign merchants especially the Chinese to open an enaira wallet for easier transactions. Cbn will need to promote and sell the enaire idea to Chinese merchants.

D) mini importers and others can make purchases online with the enaira dollar mastercards at a minimum limit of 5k or 10k usd a year.

E) flight tickets booking should be done via enaira master cards.

F) school fees or those sending money abroad can use the same enaira cards or crypto currency as it already been done.
Lolz, who tell you they don't know all this?

The CBN officials, commercial banks and politicians who keep huge dollars in their covens are the real saboteurs of our economy. These set of people benefit immensely from the current system, hence their refusal to do the right thing.
