Mindlog: I came to the UK through study route, for my specialty in Clinical Child Psychology and now working as a CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Assessment Practitioner and on the pathway of achieving my UK Psychotherapist license.that is me living my dreams and wouldn't have achieved that in Nigeria.
Some people need to "japa to grow" while some would be okay with their growth in their home countries.
Basic living constitutes not being homeless, not going hungry nor getting hit by the elements because of inappropriate clothing for the prevailing weather.
If those same guys happen to be in Nigeria, they would still engage in crime because their cores are disconnected from earning a honest living.....why didn't they stop after scamming their first £150,000, meaning each getting £50,000 which is the 25 months earnings of those "slaving" themselves in the UK? But even in the same UK, there are homeless people on the streets, there are old people who cannot afford to turn on their heating during winter, and many unfortunately pass on during cold periods, there are children who only get a decent meal from school. MT's point is no country is perfect, including the Western countries Nigerians tend to idolize. So those aspiring to japa should set realistic expectations. |

Hmm. Depends on the customer and their liquidity. A person that has only 40k available to spend can only go for Option A, while a person who has enough cash at their disposal will likely go for Option B.
This is assuming the item is non-perishable or can be consumed in a reasonable period of time which I think is the case with rice, otherwise no one will go for option b at all. |

Topman7: Oh please stop this nonsense.
Betting is part and parcel of football.
It is even small scale in Nigeria.
In Europe and the US, virtually EVERYONE bets in all kinds of sports, not just football.
If you are good at it, you can pocket good, hard cash that you can use for business or whatever you want.
Betting has saved many guys, so just chill abeg. First go and research the downsides of betting even in the countries you are using as your yardstick. At least they have protections in place because they recognize the dangers. Here, people wallowing in poverty and no mental health or any other kind of support are being ruined by betting each day. A person who bets will eventually lose all, it's a question of time. |

I want to make sure it enters 10 acres and I can expand later when I get more money. The labor will cost money. The guy I brought from Togo is asking for a brand new Bajaj motorcycle after a year. But he will be the one taking care of the farm while I provide food and shelter close to the farm. That has been sorted.
My plan is to process it to garri, elubo, lafu, pupuru and even fufu. I pray God help me o I’ll still create a thread on the progress made. All the very best. I wish you success. |
Agriculture › Re: Please How Much Can A 3 Acres Of Cassava Farm Generate? by yewit37486: 2:08pm On Mar 13, 2024 |
Esude007: Let's do the math, we have 2.5 acre in 1 hectare, if we plant using 1m by 1m configuration, we will have 10,000 stands, but I will advice you to use 0.9m by 0.9m to get 12,300 stands. If you follow good Agronomic practice, you can have 3kg yield per stand. 3kg * 12300.... 36900kg.
We have 1000kg in 1 tonne, so 36900kg divided by 1000kg will be 36.9 tonnes
Going by the current price in the market, 1 tonne of fresh cassava tuber is #65,000, that give us...... #2,398,5000 I like your mathematical approach, just one question - how do you factor in risks into your formula? The reality is things do not always go to plan so risk management needs to be included in any projections. |

pansophist: If the two fools are committed and understand marriage as a duty and sacrifice to the other, then it will last. I doubt if there is love in a polygamous home, but many want it to work, hence it last.
Many times I feel like breaking a bottle of some of my loved ones' heads, they annoy me to by bone marrow, and perhaps, I annoy the hell out of them too.
But if a passerby thinks because I am arguing with my brother, then he can come and interfere, I and my bro will set our beef aside, deal with the passerby wotowoto, then settle our grievances over a bottle of palm wine.
We (I and my bro) are two individuals and are meant to have conflicts, but the conflict will never uproot our love, duty, and sacrifice to each other. The conflict will make us understand our redlines, and try not to cross them anymore.
Marriage should be like that. Fight all you want, but your fight is meaningless if you guys don't learn from each other through that fight. Lots of people don't see marriage as teamwork. They don't see it as suffering.
When they read the ''forever for worse'' in the alter, to them, it's just something they have to do, not a pledge they have to keep. If intending couples understand the power of that pledge, many will be very careful of who they get married to.
I may hire the best assassins in Nigeria to assassinate the president, but they probably won't be successful. But his wife will do it tonight, clean. Also if one marries a person due to the nonsense young people call spec, I pity them.
Ten years more, your so-called spec will add weight, God forbid, get sick and be in a wheelchair, or something worse. Then attraction is gone, and the only thing that will keep you guys is character.
That when you remember two years ago when you were job searching and your wife held it down for you, and other rich men were chasing her then and she resisted the temptation, to show you that she is committed.
Taking care of such a woman in her tough period will be so easy. It's the same thing good parents enjoy. I don't joke with my parents. They are the only people who can ask me for anything (not stupid things obviously) and I will never say no.
And it is simply because their love for me is not in their mouth, it's in their action. They raised me well and didn't scatter my siblings to different oga for apprenticeship.
When my head wanted to turn, they beat nonsense comot from my body. They kept away their differences and made sure they created a stable home for the kids to grow.
Sometimes I wake up at midnight to pee and hear them argue, and the next morning, you will see them laugh and act like no argument happened before.
They created a good, safe, and peaceful home to grow. So tell me, how dare I not treat them well?
If people go into marriage to make it work, then it will work. But if anything, you are already angry and want to exit, then realize that you are getting older, you will laugh or regret your past stubbornness, but what you built will be what will save you. Sorry, just had to quote you so I can read this again another time. God bless your parents richly, they did what many parents fail to do these days, i.e. prioritizing the interest of the family/children ahead of their individual differences. Really commendable. Thanks for sharing. |

Meanwhile most comments are blaming the woman, writing epistles about not marrying rich women, without any consideration for how the husband might have played a role.
