Fineman2: My name is Dora.
I am 35 years old and everybody keeps reminding me that age is no longer on my side.
My fiance and I have been dating for more than one year and we are getting married soon.
My fiance is 40 years old and he has never been married.
The relationship was really good when we started but now that our wedding is in a few weeks time, he has shown how controlling he can be.
From the choice of the wedding dress, to the bridesmaids selection, to the colour of the day, he wants to be in charge.
He also wants his mum to buy the cloth for our engagement as well as buy our wedding ring.
He does whatever his family says without seeking my opinion and it almost seems as if I am not the one getting married.
I told my parents about how this makes me feel and they just asked me to endure because I am getting older but I really fear for what is going to happen after the wedding.
Are these not red flags I should run from?
I am confused, please advise me. Bitter Pills here I don't see anything wrong in what the guy is doing. At 40 marriage obviously is not what matters to him. Also if it is about the wedding it's not for both of you but third parties, that is how it is in Nigeria. Left to normal cause you can have court wedding and that is all. All this wedding casala we disturb ourselves about is to satisfy third parties. Madam get married and submit to your man else remain single for life. You can't eat your cake and yet have it |

lorenzobanks: The president and vice president announced during a briefing on their first day in office that they want to eliminate double exchange rate window currently witness in Nigeria where the official price and black market price coexist.
Expert in the house, how do you think federal government would achieve this owning to the fact that this is determine by the availability of dollars. I need your input. Hmm, I believe that the present Government can do the the following to achieve that. Strengthening the official exchange rate: The government could take measures to strengthen the official exchange rate by increasing the supply of foreign currency, particularly US dollars, through various means. This could include promoting exports, attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), encouraging remittances, and implementing policies to boost foreign currency reserves. Economic reforms: The government could implement structural reforms to improve the overall economic situation, enhance investor confidence, and attract foreign capital. This might involve addressing issues related to infrastructure development, power supply, ease of doing business, and governance. By creating a conducive environment for investment and economic growth, the government can increase the inflow of foreign currency. Foreign exchange market interventions: The central bank may increase its interventions in the foreign exchange market to stabilize the exchange rate. This could involve selling foreign currency reserves, particularly US dollars, to meet the demand and reduce the disparity between the official and parallel market rates. Fiscal discipline and monetary policy: The government can pursue fiscal discipline by managing public finances effectively, reducing budget deficits, and implementing prudent monetary policies. Sound macroeconomic management can help stabilize the economy, control inflation, and attract foreign investment, which, in turn, may improve the availability of foreign currency. Collaboration with international partners: The government can engage with international financial institutions, such as the International Monetary Fund (IMF), to explore potential assistance programs, loans, or financial support aimed at stabilizing the exchange rate and addressing economic challenges. These partnerships can bring expertise and resources to help manage foreign currency liquidity and improve economic stability. Diversification of the economy: Promoting economic diversification away from oil dependency can contribute to reducing the pressure on foreign exchange. By developing other sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, services, and technology, Nigeria can enhance export earnings and reduce the reliance on imported goods, thereby improving the availability of foreign currency. Curbing capital flight and illicit financial flows: The government can implement measures to combat capital flight and illicit financial flows, which contribute to the scarcity of foreign currency. Strengthening regulations, improving transparency, and enhancing anti-corruption efforts can help retain foreign exchange within the country and reduce the need for multiple exchange rate windows. It's important to note that eliminating the dual exchange rate system would require a comprehensive approach that addresses the underlying economic factors and structural issues contributing to the current situation. Additionally, communication and coordination with relevant stakeholders, including businesses, financial institutions, and citizens, would be crucial to ensure a smooth transition and build confidence in the unified exchange rate system. |

Kingjite1: Hello guys,
I am going to brief few weeks before the lockdown I joined an India factory as a casual worker for the past two years and my supervisor had a great relationship but due to changes in management the new boss and my supervisor are always in disagreement.
Majority of the period it is the India guy that is at fault always looking for a way to punish my supervisor because my supervisor is being cherished by his direct boss.
For instance, when he gives an order and the end product is bad he would deny that he never gave such order so my supervisor derive a means to checkmate him anytime he gives such order my supervisor would tell him to sign on it.
So both of them were Tom and Jerry, so he was always looking for my supervisor replacement which was kind of tough because it is very sensitive department.
So due to my relationship supervisor he has taught me alot about the job to point that i do cover dor him when he not around,so early this year the india guy and my supervisor had a heated arguement regarding a mistake cause by the india guy which attracted the india man boss so they remove my supervisor.
Later in the day i was called up was offered the role of supervisor which i decline because i consider it a betrayer to my supervisor and number two reason was that if he can treat my supervisor that way what is the guratee i won't received the same treatment.
Regardless of higher pay cause everything is not about money.
For good three days i was harass to take up the job but i stood my ground that he better sack me than to take the position then .
When he saw that i was not going to take the job my supervisor was called back to work.
After that incident the india man has been like someone pour a tank of cold water on him.
He no longer shout at workers again it just an overnight change which really suprise everyone. You are a great man you are thinking beyond holding positions and I am sure that in times from now you will find yourself in great places. You won't know the lesson you have taught the Indian guy |

Family › Re: My Personal Observation About Nigerian "Adults" by Ynix(m): 7:17pm On May 27, 2023 |
CuriousCart: I have noticed that most Nigerians are adults by age only and not thought. 80% of adults lack a clue about their next move and direction.
They usually copy what other successful people around them are doing on the surface.
If a colleague buys a car, they start getting worked up until they also buy a car. If a neighbour opens a shop for his wife they rush to open a shop too. If their friend is into tech, they abandon their budding career and start taking tech courses upandan.
I think the copiers do this because they believe mimicking will make them reach the same goals as the person but they fail to realize that life doesn't work that way because there are many unseen events and efforts that may have led to the copyee's success.
The colleague who bought a car may have been gifted by a sugar daddy or recently lost a parent and inherited the car while you are planning to use your entire savings plus loan. The neighbour opening a shop may have had 15 years experience in that biz line while you just want to dive into it blindly. The tech guy may just have the brains for it while you are more likely to succeed at sales.
Finally, when they are done copying and don't achieve the same successful result as the copyee, the next thing is to accuse him/her of using juju and using people's destiny to succeed.
Just do you. You have heard the word Rat Race that is it, schools promoted it |

Investment › Re: Advice On How To Approach A Bolt Business by Ynix(m): 10:10am On May 26, 2023 |
holicalpha: Hello Guys
Good day
I need information how on to go about an intended Bolt Business
I would really appreciate you all inputs as that is the main reason I am creating this topic
I intend to get a car for Bolt
I will be getting a tokunbo Car , Budget is between 4M to 5M
Getting a good tokunbo car for the business means I get to spend less because I wouldn’t be worried about a faulty car that would make me visit mechanic regularly ( I have a good and trusted dealer l, so getting a good car isn’t an issue)
I need advice on which car is the most suitable for this business
What I intend to get is a Toyota Camry (voltron)
But you guys can give your opinion on which is the most suitable in terms for Low cost of maintenance and low usage of fuel
I currently stay in Edo state but I intended using the car in Abuja (Meaning I will have to get a driver , a trusted one )
I have folks in Abuja that can regularly check on the car’s condition at intervals
Agreements would be signed of course , background check would be done because I intend to involve the Police(I no wan hear say one thing do one thing )
So basically
I need advice on;
the most suitable car to use
How to go about registration for the bolt business
Getting an agreement signed with the driver (unloving a lawyer and the police)
How I can ensure the business is run smoothly
Advisable Amount of weekly returns
And any other tips you may have for me
Thanks for your potential contribution..
mynd44 Nlfpmod Dominque So you don't intend to drive it yourself... Bolt is a good idea but if you intend to outsource that is get a driver, is to to make daily or weekly remittance via Bolt? I think you should carry out swot analysis first |
