All I'm trying to say is that, it's not worth it, the stress is much. PPA might be good or bad, they might retain you or not, but it's good you have the experience, because it's just for a year.

I served more than a decade ago. I am a civil engineer by training, what is a civil engineer to be doing in a school that is sited in an uncompleted house. That was where NYSC posted me to.
The Government themselves are helpless.
If anyone is to serve now I will advise them to break the rules, go look for job and just get the letters signed monthly, don't allow any system dictate your growth in life

I was born in the late 80's precisely 1987. I reduced my age to 1990 when I was about to start my undergraduate program, thinking I will be able to serve when I graduate. But because of the corona and ASUU strikes,I couldn't graduate as planned. Now if I need to reduce my age again so as to be able to serve. Please my people I really need the money for the service but I am equally scared of the implications of age reduction in the future. Because now that they are writing date of birth on NYSC certificate,any date of birth that I use to enter camp will be irreversible and I will have to neglect my diploma and advanced Diploma certificate plus my years of working experience. I am so confused,I wake up every day with a different decision on this issue,I think of the negative effect that this may bring in the future because I don't know what tomorrow may bring,and then I think of how this allowee will go a long way in supporting my life in this hard times.

Straight to it, I have been considering Japa for over two years now and I think the opportunity might be here but I am having a cold feet.

My advice to you don't rush to travel.
If you are earning $3000 save up for schooling with the intention of landing a high income job.
Also consider looking at becoming a SCRUM MASTER, TAKE COURSES AROUND PROJECT MANAGEMENT, MONITORING AND EVALUATION AND NECESSARY CERTIFICATION. IF YOU CAN DO THAT WHILE HERE, IT WILL HELP YOU LAND BETTER JOBS WHEN YOU ARE THERE.
ALSO, DO YOU BEST TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD TO FUND YOUR PERSONAL EXPENSES IN THE FIRST 2 TO 3 MONTHS.

YOU CAN ALSO CHOOSE TO BECOME A LOCAL AUTHORITY IN YOUR FIELD AND MAKE EXTRA CASH FROM TEACHING WHAT YOU KNOW.

1. I work in a project development company.

2. I am at the assistant manager level.

3. I do most of the work; from designing and maintaining company's websites, to clerical works such document preparation, oversee environmental consulting jobs, to troubleshooting company's systems and many more.

4. The problem is that the company does not appreciate all my efforts. They push every blame on me.

The owner and his son are just so inconsiderate. For example, I was working on a project that required attachment of some sensitive documents.

Once it was time, I requested for the documents from the owner, instead he provided me with different documents entirely. Many times, he will shout at me for asking questions. So I assumed that he didn't want the documents out in the public.

While reviewing my work, the owner was okay with the attached documents until he decided to make presentation with the work to prospects.

As soon as the prospects registered dissatisfaction with the out of place documents (So to say), he called and started blasting me on the phone, calling me stup!d and stuff. He would always let me take the fall for his own mistakes all the time.

His son on the other hand is just too empty and overbearing. His father would always ask him to supervise any project I'm working on.
He would okay many things and I can't say otherwise.

When we present the project to his father and the father decides to query any part of the things which he okayed earlier, he will push all the blames on me and the father will call to nag and lambast me for things I know nothing about.

This has been going on for like 3 years now.

My regret was that I turned down an offer from a small oil company in Lagos last year and early this year too.

My current pay is 300,000 NGN without accommodation, while the Lagos' was 350,000 NGN with accommodation.

I'm currently in Abuja. I was scared of the traffic in Lagos.

I really don't know what to do anymore...

This issue is affecting my mental health.

Hello house. My dad is been having issues with the left side of this body. It's its been really discomforting for him for years now.

He complains that his left shoulder feels stiff, tight and heavy up to his trunk and he experiences numbness in his left leg. Has a form of difficulty walking. Even his left fingers are uncoordinated.

He has done lots of test, and MRI they have ruled out stroke , they said its cervical spondylosis, a nerve problem which medically has no cure. But I do believe it should have some form of treatment traditionally. Find the right medice or local doctor is the challenge.

Please does anyone have or know of any possible solutions? My dad is not finding life easy with his condition.
