Kenn55: You guys don't understand what is going on. Before you get to the herdsmen, you will have to get over the police and army first. Nigeria case is different from the example you cited above because in our case the state security apparatus are against the people and defending the terrorists. It is not a case of the security being overwhelmed and citizens step up to fight, it is a case of the security of a country tactically supporting the terrorists against the people. So it is a difficult fight to win
The moment the indigenes go after the fulanis that is when you will see the army with operation something and the aim will be to stop the villagers from attacking the terrorists .
You can not form q vigilante and give them AK47. Where would you bring it from? Who control borders and customs? You think Buhari will allow a governor give vigilantes AK47 to fight the herdsmen?
So the governors are helpless in this regard. Has Amotekun stopped fulanis from killing in southwest?
This is why the north does not want restructuring. Imagine if there is a regional or state police answerable to the people of the state. How would they not have flushed these terrorists out of their state.
The only way for this governors to confront this is to covertly back non state actors to take the fight to the herdsmen but then the police and army will come for them. It is a messed up situation I agree with you 100% |

Joysticks: Can a Nigerian hard-worker get rich from a 9 to 5 monthly salary without involving in runs? I don't mean politics where the politicians allawees are higher than their salary. I mean genuine salary earners who don't engage in illegal activities to make extra income at their workplaces? Yes you can. Some low-key international investment, advisory & alternative financing companies for global corporates looking at penetrating emerging markets pay in foreign currency; some oil & gas production coys too. But the most proven route is the business & investment way, it may time and great effort but if you stick to it and God helps you, you will get there. Take a look at the area you reside, who are the people that built the most beautiful mansions there? The answer is simple- 95% of the time, they are businessmen and women. God bless your hustle. |

jeliliadedoja1: Defend yourself against Herdsmen and Bandits, they are not invincible, they are not spirit. Talk to them in the language they understand .Buhari has shifted responsibility to the Governors who do have power over armed forces and Police force, we don't have a responsible government. He is playing politics with life of Nigerians which he took oath to defend. Exactly, I was watching 'Narco wars' on Nat Geo yesterday about how drug cartels in Mexico terrorized a particular province for many years, killing them like chickens and the government was barely helpless, blood spill everywhere, men, women, even children were not spared; rape, especially of 11, 12 years old kids were rampant. The inhabitants of the province got fed and decided to take their destiny into their hands by forming a vigilante group and standing up to the major dreaded cartel, it was fire for fire and after countless deaths on both sides for a long period of time, the province won, the main cartel boss was killed and that was the end of the organization. Sometimes, you need to stand up and look your enemy in the eye especially in this case of Nigeria where the patron of the herdsmen is the same man you are calling and looking up to, to defend you. He is a tribal and religious bigot who would simply stand on the side of his blood-thirty trouble mongers. A word is enough for the wise. |

wink2015: BENUE STATE is fast becoming the killing field of Nigeria.
A week or day passes with news of killings of farmers and other innocent people living in Benue state.
Benue state is known for being the food basket of Nigeria as the indigene are predominantly farmers.
But fulani herdsmen that the natives allowed to graze their cattle so many years back are refusing to quit or respect the state government laws of NO TO OPEN GRAZING.
Buhari is instigating his fulani kinsmen against the native Tiv and Idoma people of Benue state.
The resultant effect of all this is loss of precious human lives that can not be paid back with dollars or pound sterling and also the bad effect of food hunger in the land and high cost of the fewer goods. Buhari is a terrible mistake, an unrepentant vindictive bigot whose dementia at old age came too early and at the wrong time for the country. Maybe when his family members start becoming victims, he would get sense by force. |

Eriokanmi: Defend yourselves. Stop calling on buhari. Even if they deployed all the military and police personnel we have in the country to the south west alone, they're inadequate, talk-less of sharing them evenly all over the country.
I'm sure you understand what I meant when I said you should defend yourselves, try it and once and the nonsense would stop. Enough said In other words, we should start Sunday Igbohoing the bast***rds because the Nigeria President (with first cousins) from Niger Republic will never do anything to curb the crazy menace, he will simply turn his head the other way. |

Coldshisha: A father trying to take a bullet for his boy
Nothing links him to the car in question The boy is a thief. Are fathers meant to pamper their kids who are robbers? The responsible fathers we know would even ask the EFCC to prosecute and jail him if found guilty. The boy dares not call such a father for a crime. His mother would also query him on the source of funding his lifestyle. We are beginning to see one of the causes of the rot in the society. The father can however take the bullet if his son was unjustly accused or arrested, not a criminal. |

TonyeBarcanista: Your experience, though regrettable, doesn't show that she was/is a bad woman. She saw a pest in you (trust me most women dread having men that are pests). Thing is, she didn't trust you enough! I can't fault nor justify her actions because I am not abreast with the situation save your own side, but I think splitting was in the best interest of you both.
But did you tell her it was a repayable loan with specific date/period of repayment? Bro. or Sist. Every experience should be converted to a lesson. What is wrong in asking your partner for support? So, asking for support is tantamount to being a pest? Anyway, I thank God for that experience. I met another woman about a year later, very good person but quite unfortunate she lost her lucrative job and was not really boxed up. The lesson God taught me was made manifest in that relationship. She is not a pest, na money she nor get, nor be say she kill person. I will never see her as a pest. She is a friend going through financial challenges which someday she would overcome. God bless her. It is well with us all. |

OlayemiAshraf: Should a man ask for money from his girlfriend or wife
I actually ask for money from my girlfriend with my chest out and I don't feel ashamed... Even when I don't have money for meal, she pays for it without even abusing me ... When she needs money and I have, I don't hesitate to give her ... Actually we elevate by helping each other .....
I've been hearing from some women saying that "a man that asks for money from his girlfriend is a red flag".
Nairalanders, is that true That is how it's meant to be, helping and supporting one another but this world is no longer normal, abnormality everywhere. It depends on the nature, perspective and belief of the person you are dealing with. I lost a relationship many years ago because I asked her for assistance, business had not picked up as envisaged and I was in dire need of funds. I usually wouldn't ask, maybe because of my ego but I let them down and asked, but she saw it as a 'red flag', she saw me as a potential pest and stylishly ended the relationship. She was abroad and perhaps might have thought all of us in Nigeria are baggages. I felt very sad but then, life goes on. Am I a better person now? Hell YES! Thank God I went through that temporary financial challenge, I would have married the wrong woman. So, it all depends on the particular man or woman you are in a relationship with, there is no 'one size fits all' answer. |
