PoliticsRe: President Buhari Names Expressway In Abuja After The President Of Niger by Yoighaman(m): 8:39am On Mar 17, 2021
Racoon:
Buhari and Niger Republic ehen! How can a president be violating the sovereignty of a nation with utter impunity while the citizens helplessly look on? Niger Republic that dealth ruthlessly with the same BH terrorists which Nigeria was treating with kids gloves?

Same Niger Republic the Maj.Gen.Buhari as then military HOS rather choose to vote its citizen instead of his Igbo countryman as OAU secretary despite persuasion thereby becoming the first president to openly violates the sovereignty of his own nation?

Same Niger Republic whose home country sent in a delegation of 2 provincial governors and other hoardes of entourage that illegally crossed Nigeria international boundary without scrutiny by customs, immigration etc into Kano in 2018 to illegally partake in Buhari 2018 presidential campaign rally?

Same Niger Republic that president Buhari government can promptly approve and make budgetary provision for the standard gauge Kano-Kastina-Maradi(Niger Republic) northern railway corridor project but busy building the substandard narrow gauge variant for the SE? Of what economic importance is Niger Republic to Nigeria?
I wonder why it's so difficult for some people to simply admit that voting for Buhari was a colossal mistake, especially on matters bothering on security and nepotism.

I campaigned and voted for him all the times he contested but I admitted afterwards that I made a mistake.

I acted based on the best information I had about him at that time, in contrast to the warnings of some of my friends who knew him too well.

But again, would I have voted for the PDP? N-O, NO. To me, Buhari was the better of the two candidates.

The problem of Nigeria lies in the structure of the political parties, the truth is, only the APC or PDP can win an election in this country, at least for now and unfortunately, both parties recycle the same candidates who are always carpet crossing.

Bring Okonjo-Iweala or Akinwunmi Adesina on the platform of any political party outside of the APC and PDP, they would lose woefully.

God help Nigeria.

Stop gambling. It can ruin your life. I have lost 450k through betting this year. While it seems like little money to me it could have sent someone else to the village.
They will never listen (for those that see it as a business); nothing like sure games, the game you least expect is what will cause the loss.

The illusion is that they win, you win but in the end, you are the loser.

Unlike before, I now play for the fun of it with a 'chicken change' I can afford to lose, after all, a couple of bottles can also take that money which I have earmarked for spending anyway.

Eeya omo the stories were saddening. CPGA suffered, NYSC always having financial issues couldn’t even account for anything, jobs distractions taking toll on performance, lost a good woman too, wasted thousands for nothing. Mehn it was a stupid, helpless place to be. But in all things, there’s still a window for thanks. I am in a place of comfort today because of the wreck I needed to become first. I can never touch it ever again. I killed it with a healthier addiction.
Sorry for all the loses; good you learnt your lessons and have moved on. Thank God. I have also broken the habit, but I just use it to catch fun
once in a while as a football lover, especially when trying to prove a point.

People who haven't been there wouldn't understand, it's like being a drug addict, even worse.

It suffocates you the more if you do not have the financial means (which was where God saved me) and then leaves you miserable, hoping for another fix, hoping for a better day.

No doubt, there are the lucky ones but they are very few compared to the entire lot.

So what's the healthier addiction you killed it with? I'm just curious.

Music/RadioRe: Are The Grammy Awards Worth The Hype? by Yoighaman(m): 9:01pm On Mar 16, 2021
GreatResearcher:
Award means a prize or other mark of recognition given in honour of an achievement.

Why the hype on Grammy Awards?

The way we Africans see and do things always got me puzzled.
We see Grammy Award as god. I'm not in anyway hating those who won. But how me celebrate this Grammy is what I don't understand.

In America. Most American acts don't see Grammy as anything.
I remember one rapper who was given a Grammy Award and he rejected it.

Last year an American rapper pee on a Grammy Award (something most Africans see as god)
Few hours ago another American rapper took to his Twitter to write F88k Grammys.

These people a different way of reasoning I don't know if it's because of their environment because environment can't influence one's reasoning.

Winning Grammy does not make you bigger or better than others.
Not winning Grammy does not mean your crafts are useless.

I know over 10 American rappers who never won a Grammy but you can't talk about Hip Pop and you don't mention their names.

Imagine someone like Nas just won his first Grammy after how many years in the industry? He never made it a big deal.
Winning a grammy award is the highest form of recognition in the music industry worldwide and yes, it is a big deal...just that some artistes pretend it's no big deal, big fat lie; It is indeed a big deal.

Gambling is a bad habit, worse than Meth or Cocaine. Please avoid it like a plague but if you find it difficult to stop, then just play with the amount of money you can afford to lose, see it as fun, not a business.

FG Congratulates Burnaboy And Wizkid Over Grammy Awards

https://twitter.com/FMICNigeria/status/1371416836420567041?s=20[/quote]Whilst we all continue to congratulate our very own stars- Wizzy and Burna; It is important we take away a lesson or two.

I will just KISS (Keep It Short and Simple) my post.

There are so many lessons to be learned from their stories: Consistence, Faith, Resilience, Self-Confidence, Diligence etc. but the one I'd like to briefly deliberate on is GOOD ASSOCIATION.

There is a saying that you become like the 5 people you spend the most of your time with, I believe this is absolutely true. Take a look at yourself and your circle and see if this statement does not ring a bell.

Be very mindful of the people in your inner circle, they are usually a reflection of who you are; ensure you move with people of like minds, shared vision and common goal; do not be the superstar in your clique, the moment you realize you have become the superstar, it's time to move on, I am not saying you should abandon your friends, please don't, but find a way to 'move on' elsewhere where you'd get new aspirations.

Put bluntly, Wizkid would not have won that grammy award had he not associated with Beyonce and her crew; that association alone brought out the best in him and has changed his life forever; now notice Wizzy did not abandon his friends, he just knew when to 'move on' to higher grounds.

Burna also associated with other artists in the album that gave him the award [infact the album was produced by Sean Combs (Diddy)]; he too didn't abandon his friends, he simply understood the power of good association and he keyed into it.

Don't get me wrong, both of them are greatly talented and could achieve anything as individuals but your talent is at its finest when you associate with like minds. That is why we have various forms of collabo around the world that cuts across race, color, nationality, religion, language etc.

Yes, you might associate with people better than you are and still not 'blow' whether in sports, business, movies, music, careers etc. but the chances are higher when you are in such circles.

Let us continue to celebrate these exceptional talents for the grammy awards but please don't just jubilate; if you truly believe that the awards are for all of us, then you must sit down, learn a lesson or two and apply them to your life, who knows? You just might the winner of a 'grammy award' in your chosen career someday.

One love.
FamilyRe: My Lazy Girlfriend Lacks Ambition And She's Pregnant For Me!!! by Yoighaman(m): 6:03pm On Mar 14, 2021
jondon11:
So I met my girl about a year ago during the start of the lockdown. We bonded real quick...she's easy-going, sorta smart, mad sexy and funny. Two months after we started dating, she moved in with me and began shuttling between my place and her sister's.

I work from home and my place is structured such that there's not much to do to maintain it. Although I work from home, I go out now and again for business and during my time out I run most of the errands...my girl ensures that it's only when I'm going out that she gets whatever she needs, from the market or errands around the area mainly cause she's often in a pant and bra watching a movie or just being lazy. She's a good cook but a lot of times I found chow coming late or not at all, and there was always raw food to prepare...sometimes her excuse for not cooking could be she couldn't get one ingredient or the other either because she didn't have cash on her or some other reason...there's mobile money just outside our gate and if she doesn't have the money she can call me to make a transfer but the main issue was laziness. I swept and mopped like 80% of the time, ran errands like 100%, cooked like 20% or the time (starved like 20% or sorted myself out someway), she did dishes 80% of the time and I brought like 100% of the money we lived on.

She is doing her MSc and our relationship started during the lockdown so she wasn't going to school. She was job searching (more like job waiting) so this gave her a lot of idle time which she spent watching Zee World or being on social media. I soon found a way to engage her in the job I do from home, and with the money she had saved in the bank (over 400K), she started work with me. I purchased a laptop for her for this purpose and so she could develop herself in other areas via online courses but she didn't do much work...working like two hours daily, very late at night...I sometimes complained but tried encouraging her as much as possible, especially when she made some success.

I'm sure you'd ask why I stayed in the relationship despite all of this? I was pussy whipped, had no other options given the nature of my work, saw some potential in her ( I know, a stupid thing to say) and thought I was in love (I'm 29 and shouldn't have been that stupid).

Fast forward to December last year, we discovered she was pregnant, a month pregnant. Told her we should keep the child and get married...she suggested we could abort since we weren't quite ready but I said what was a couple more months gonna make a difference? embarassed embarassed embarassed

Since then till now, we've been quarrelling non-stop, one issue after another of which it's mainly me raising the issues. Maybe it's the tension that comes from knowing I might be starting a family with so many unresolved issues. I've raised my concerns and told her she'd need to be more responsible in the relationship if things will work and even though she tells me she knows, I know deep down she doesn't mean it or might not be up to the task of being a married adult. From some of our talk she expects I'd take care of all the financial responsibilities and have suggested a couple of times we get help for chores (we've moved to a bigger space now) but I told her in clear terms that that's not how I imagined my life...having help for chores and the likes, besides, it's just a two-bedroom flat.

I've purchased some of the things we'd be needing for our wedding and we're supposed to do an introduction this coming week but I'm having cold feet and just want to call it off.

I'm bringing this here to know how I can manage this situation...I can be lazy but I'm a really ambitious person so this pushes me but my girl is not just lazy, but unambitious. How do I manage the situation...there's a child involved now and will need to consider the child but at the same time, I can't take on this much stress nor have my ambitions cut short because my partner is lazy.

What can I do??

embarassed embarassed
Sorry for this predicament, whether you caused it or not doesn't matter.

My advice: Please never get married to a woman you do not truly love, cannot live with or cannot cope with her excesses; otherwise, your life will be very miserable.

Remain steadfast in your God.

Meanwhile Education in Africa has a surprising outcomes.

The smartest students pass with 1st class and get admission into medical and engineering schools.

The second class students get MBAs and LLBs to manage the first class students.

The third class students enter politics and rule both the first class and second class students.

The failures join the armies and control the politicians who, if they are not happy with, they kick or kill them.

Best of all, those who did not attend any school become prophets and witch doctors and everybody follows them.

also a true story. when i was in the UK, here on nairaland i used to hear people talk about this drink called ORIJIN. they said it was very good and had herbs and beer and juices. i searched for this drink and eventually found it in a nigerian restaurant in bolton. guess how much the drink is in england ? 7 pounds for a bottle. thats like 4200 naira. i tried it and got hooked. i would go to this restaurant and buy 3 bottles every weekend. thats 21 pounds aka 13,000 naira. so anyway i moved back to nigeria and went into shop to ask for orijn, they said it was 300 naira for the same bottle. i nearly passed out. so orijin that is 300 naira in naija is 4200 naira in the UK. so the point is ? you need a lot more money abroad to do what you can do very cheap in nigeria
You are very much on point bro.

Was in the UK some years back, was buying small bottle of Guinness stout for £5, a naira to £ then was about N300, meaning I was buying it for N1,500; meanwhile back home in Naija, same bottle costs N250.

RomanceRe: He Is A Cheat, Yet Won’t Let Me Go by Yoighaman(m): 4:13am On Mar 09, 2021
AdesewaAde:
So recently, I’ve been having this feeling that my fiancé is a cheat, I’m not a type of woman who do choke my partner or check his phones cause I respect his privacy, even though he has always been checking my phone, going through my social media accounts and all other things, sometimes he will use my fingers to unlock my phone while sleeping just to go through it.

We’ve been dating since 2018, we became best of friends and our families are cool together, he is caring and jovial, he doesn’t hide things from me most especially financial issues, our social lives are almost the same, in short we are good together. We planned to do our engagement last year December but due to the way things were last year we postponed it and decided to pick another date, though I now spend half of my days at his place.

Fast forward to January this year, I started seeing some red signs that he is a cheat, many times I took his phone to unlock and go through since I know his passwords but I will drop it again cause there is no way I will check his phone without seeing things that will tamper with my peace of mind, since then, I’ve decided to open my eyes and ears more wider.

Later on , I discovered that anytime I am around, his phones were always on airplane mode, he only works on system, my heart started asking me different questions but I kept calm and I continued with my quest to catch him red handed, though I confronted him that he is cheating but he laughed at me and said 95% of men do cheat but he is among the remaining 5% that doesn’t.

Last month, we both decided to go on vacation, it was then I saw that I was actually in a relationship with a dog like person. There was a particular number that kept calling him, maybe he forgot to put the phone on airplane mode, at first I overlooked it but the number kept on calling about 59 times, it was then that I decided to pick it up and I heard a female voice, she said “you asshole, so you decided not to pick my calls because she is around, come online, I left you a message there” my heart skipped, who was she referring to as “she”? It was then I decided to unlock his phone for the first time and I just wish I didn’t do that, my eyes were heavy with tears as I was reading all sorts of conversations between him and different girls, not one, not two, not three, about ten of them, some even sent him nude pictures, he already bleeped some, some are still under format, two of them are new preys. I cried, many of them even know me, one even referred to me as his witch, I wept bitterly, I was on this weeping when he entered the room and saw me crying, all he could say was that how will I touch his phone in the first place.

He later apologised, after the much argument, I started parking my things to come back to out state, I told him I am done with the relationship, he started laughing at me and started shouting at the top of his voice “ babe you must be crazy, you are definitely out of your mind, how on earth must you think you can leave the relationship that I summoned up so much courage to ask you out? Listen woman, even if I cheat everyday, I can’t leave you, the truth is I will always cheat, I will apologise if been caught but I can’t ever place any woman above you,vI met our pastor in the hotel with another babe the last time I went to hotel for quickie with one chick, if pastors do cheat, who am I not to. At least you have the key to everything I have, if my parents can’t reach me, they will deliver the message to you, are you hungry? Are you looking rough? Do you want sex and I denied you? So what else should be your problem with me cheating “

I was short of words, he wasn’t even remorseful, I left there angrily and he kept calling, later he called his parents to explain the issues to them and they called me and pleaded, to make the situation worse his mom also said all men cheat. He has been threatening me that he won’t allow me to marry any other person, guys I’m really confused, please what can I do now, I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with a man who doesn’t have taste.
Leaving him is not the issue here; I'm more concerned about the next person you'd date; he might be 10X worse off but conversely, if you are lucky, he might be 10X better.

Please get down on your knees and ask God for direction; then take any decision your instinct asks you to take.

This woman is tremendously heartless. A big schemer and social climber who I see dumping Harry later on, say like in 5 years time and then use the kids as leverage to settle herself financially. Only then will Harry return to his senses.

Though the Royal family may be racist and all that but she knew what she was getting into before going in.

The truth of the matter is that she and Harry know that they can never be the star couple or the centre of attraction cause as far as the British royal family is concerned William and his children will always be above them by virtue of birth and this realisation is the cause of the tantrum they are throwing now

They wanted to leave the royal family and they've achieved their aim so they should just keep quiet and move on with their lives
God bless you for your comment.

She got more than she bargained for.

She is a manipulative human being; my heart broke when she successfully separated Harry from the royal family, a family that has shown him and his brother, Williams, nothing but love since the passing of their mum- Princess Diana.

Meghan is selfish and wicked. She schemed her way into the royal family thinking her children would be princes and princesses but was shocked to find out that, that will not be the case. She didn't do her homework very well.

Some years to come, she would eventually leave Harry since her plans have failed and what she was expecting is no longer feasible.

What do you even expect of a woman that has a very bad relationship with her own family, so bad that she didn't want her father at her wedding ceremony...she couldn't even save face by at least putting aside any grievance for the sake of the many public eyes watching from all over the world.

I put it out to all men and women out there, please never marry anyone who will seperate you from your family (especially your nuclear family) in the name of love. Such persons are devils in human form. They do not love you, rather, they have an ulterior motive which is usually selfish and sometimes callous.

May we never make mistakes that we'd regret for the rest of our lives.
