pazienza: Isobos are in Obubra LGA, they are Igboid with lots of influence from their non Igbo neighbors.
Agbos are not Igboid, they are Ekoid, they don't share boundaries with Isobo, as Agbo( also called Legbo) is in Abi LGA, while Isoko is in Obubra LGA. Take a look at the appended Map of Cross River below to appreciate that even though Abi is close to Obubra, they are both not contiguous.
See an old nairaland thread about the Isobos :https://www.nairaland.com/3425009/meet-isobos-igbo-speaking-tribe Thanks bro. Still on the Agbos, are they strictly Ekoid or is it something similar to the Opobo situation? I ask because even Ogoja has lots of Igbos as recorded in history. |

gwafaeziokwu: The reason I laugh when fools boast about their exploits during the civil war. The British fought with Biafra and we held our own for 30 months. Ojukwu knew Nigeria under Gowon stood no chance against a determined Biafra. He banked on Britain beign neutral in the war based on their christian background and the fact that they saw first hand the injustices against the Igbos. That was his only error of judgement. If he had known that they would descend on Biafra with all arsenal in their armoury with propaganda to match on the world stage using BBC, he would have made effort to put out his own propaganda before the war commence. The British public would have called for sanctions on their leadership and maybe one or two heads might have rolled.
The real biafra story reached the world too late. Considering that 500,000 children were saved when relief started coming. The death of 1,000,000 children would have been averted only if britain had one atom of shame. America was sympathetic but they have a fierce Vietnam war to prosecute. From the depth of our hearts we appreciate all the good people around the world who flew into uli airstrip in pitch darkness to deliver aids to dying children. The foreign Irish priests who resolutely refuse to abondon their sheep to their death, but stayed with biafra till death. All the missionary doctors ,nurses and health workers who stood side by side with us, avoiding shells and bombs, treating the wounded, performing surgeries under thatch roofs, God bless your beautiful souls.

Expansion
From 1650 onward, the Oyo Empire entered a period of expansion, where it would extend its rule over most communities between the Volta River in the west to Benin and the Niger River in the east. The expansion of the Empire was made possible by the adept use of calvary and the use of part-time military forces recruited from its tributary states.
The height of Oyo's militaristic expansion was in 1748, following the subjugation of the Kingdom of Dahomey, which occured in two phases (1724–30, 1738–48). The empire then began trading with European merchants on the coast through the port of Ajase (Porto-Novo) Lol @ your concocted history. Can you name just two ethnic groups in Nigeria that fell under Oyos rule? Chai, did the Oyos even know about the river Niger in the East? Did they even cross the Benin Empire of the Edo people? |

Lol. Oyos never came close to the Ashanti region. Their highest push was Benin republic around the dahomey kingdom. |

Arrewa: As a born again Christian who is meant to speak the truth at all times, i think this amoketun issue is being hypocritically blown out of proportion to expand hatred for other tribes especially the Fulanis. Why must we Christians be the brain behind the vast support for Amotekun when the Nigerian constitution is clear about the roles of the armed forces and police in the security of the country? Why must we form an ethnic militia to target fellow Nigerians when the constitution guarantees freedom of movement and doing business nationwide as long as we are Nigerians? What we fail to realize is that the south east cheering on Amotekun sees its as a synonym for their biafra agitations and they will rather support anything that will disband the relative peace and unity of Nigeria. The IPOB sympathizers will be the one to cry wolf when Amotekun starts targeting their tribesmen who commits various crimes in the south west. MURIC recently condemned the killing of a CAN pastor and sympathized with we Christians, how many Christians will condemn the killing of an imam or Muslims? Instead we rejoice when tragedy strikes them forgetting we are all humans before religion. Instead of emulating our Muslim brothers who have remained silent on this issue of Amotekun, we Christians are disturbing the cyberspace with hypocritical comments. Amotekun will never see the light of the day as long as we remain one Nigeria. It's a bad policy and a tribalistic security outfit aimed at persecuting other Nigerians. The Fulani elites are not really happy about the activities of criminal bandits and herdsmen but their is nothing they can do about it. Hausa-Fulani are not looking at taking any land but they want the unity of Nigeria to continue to have access to the crude oil and port of the south, nothing is wrong with that, what I'm worried about is the way poverty and illiteracy has ravage the region and how they are doing so little to change.
They can't afford to fight any war with any group in Nigeria without risky breaking up Nigeria reasons why some why secessionist are heating up the politicking with this Amotekun. You can only deceive those who chose to remain in wishful land. Lands in Plateau, Kaduna, Gombe, Taraba, Nassarawa and Bauchi states have been taken over by fulanis yet you rap this lies here? jayfolarin: I would expect the business success to be the case considering its literally the hausa's land and home. It's just baffling that despite the huge population disparity, the fulani has managed to control power completely in the north and through them, Nigeria.
I think focus should be shifted back to this issue. As i sincerely believe that the one way to clip the fulani wings and their conquest escapades towards other region in Nigeria is to go back to the beginning and put the hausa man back in charge of his immediate society.
The huge population of the hausas mean that fulani controlling them hold a key voting population in Nigeria. This is something that shouldn't have been allowed to happen and can still be corrected with the right tools.
If anyone has resources I can read up about hausa's subjugation by the fulani, please send me a link. Thanks Lol. Southerners scared of fighting straight. That strategy is a waste of time. Fulanis have ruthlessly caged the Hausa elites and rendered their talakawas as almajiris. If anyone wants to save his ethnic group, fight the fulanis (hausa/fulanis). If anyone want to save the Hausas, fight the Hausa/fulanis after which the freed Hausa elites can rally the remaining Hausas masses. Anything short of this is a waste of time. The Kanuris are fighting off Fulani domination at present using Boko haram but the fulanis have so concealed it from others and are even using the opportunity for their own gain. Notice Boko has been confined to the Kanuri areas unlike before when they spread to the NW. Some Kanuri elites know this but seem powerless to do anything. The fulanis want to galvanize all these tribes in the north for showdown with the South. All these things are clearly visible but majority can't connect the dots. I wonder! El Zakzaky is Hausa just like Aminu Kano. They're a resistance to the fulani conquest of the Hausas. Both were silenced. For the Kanuris, they have to tag along and enjoy the spoils if fulanis succeed in taking a huge chunk of the South. We are watching. |

You have a strange logic that says ''you have little food anyway, so it won't hurt you much if we take away the little you have''.
Weird indeed.
Oh, and lifting the ''beef import ban'', to replace local beef simply means you'll pay a minimum 5 times more for beef than you currently do.
Good luck paying for your shaki and pomo in dollars! I've always thought you're Yoruba but now I know better. I'm not one of those who encourage the boycott of Beef because of the fulani militia rampage because I know that it will not really stop the attacks. A frontal confrontation will end the madness. As for beef consumed in Nigeria, a lot still come from non fulanis both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria. Fulanis are not the only animal farmers in northern Nigeria and neighbouring countries. They're simply the biggest of them all with a wider nomadic culture. |

BabaRamota1980: Bro, i understand. We have been there once. For the audacity of Ojukwu millions lost lives. Python was not anti Kanu, it was anti-Ibo. FG could have simply sorrounded and extracted Kanu from that compound without unecessary force. That was excessive force. They were not going into sambisa...they were going to an individual household. If Army had to use that scale of force for one man it means they have not gained skills in use of surveillance and stealth to demolish opposition. They are still in primitive stages of using hardware.
But the puzzles of the big picture painted by Obasanjo is taking shape. Those who did not see before are now aware. For those who could see before, their vision did them no good. We are all in same boat. I must say that your comments of late have been tangential most times to the previous ones. It's good that you've started to identify properly your enemy. The fact is that the resistance Igbos gave to the fulani agenda is the saving grace of other ethnic groups in Nigeria but no one understand this. Today, fulanis are bold enough to push their agenda to the 4th gear. Keep up educating Sarrki and his likes. The war nobody from the South wants will be brought on them whether they like it or not. I've seen it already and we in IPOB know it too. Danjuma has seen it too. The Hausa/fulanis have been training their young men in the art of warfare for long using Boko haram. All their elites know and are part of it. They see Amotekun as a similar tool by your people hence they'll fight tooth and nail to crush it to make their future fight a walk over. IPOB formed B.SS to tackle the murderous herdsmen and every other group condemned it not minding the reason for its formation. Fulanis fear resistance more than anything unfortunately other groups are aiding them unknowingly in their nepotistic agenda. Today, here we are. War is coming. They'll never relinquish power in 2023 to any other group because it will set their plan behind by 8yrs. Let those that have ears hear my message again. |

OBJ was his best friend, never drank nvr womanized, a strict disciplinarian and even late Tai Solarin adored his courage and even named the most popular road in his school after him. I know this as an Ex student. Nzeogwu's plan was to install Awolowo as the President. He never wanted Nigeria to break.
You'll be soooo surprised to know that Ojukwu systematically killed Nzeogwu but, of course pinned it against the Nigerian forces. Ojukwu became scared, wary and jealous of Nzeogwu's adulations among Nigerians. He engineered his release from prison but literally banned him from all military activities. So how could he have found for Biafra?
Anyway, the Igbos are their own downfall. Nzeogwu should nvr have relinquished power to that fool, Ironsi. He should have held on to it and follow through on his plans. It would have been very tough but, trust me. He had lots of initial support before the news of Zik's escape filtered through. Nzeogwu stood no chance against the foolish Ironsi immediately they couldn't nail him on the night of the coup. It was Ifeajuna that betrayed the other four majors who had altruistic intentions. The truth of the whole story was the bulk of the job laid with Gowon but he blew it by refusing to follow through on the agreement in Aburi. Ojukwu tried to protect the Easterners who were at that time facing a systemic genocide. Remember that he never supported the coup and that made him doubt Nzeogwu. He didn't bargain for division either as all his points at Aburi didn't suggest any thing of such. The Best bet for Nigeria now is to go back to Aburi and do minor adjustments to reflect new present developments. Without this, war is inevitable and the outcome will be worst than ever. |

Finally, Gowon has started admitting to his mistakes albeit unknowingly. You (Gowon) went to Aburi unprepared just like the average Nigerian contingent to an important event whereas Ojukwu carefully wrote down his goals like a serious leader should do because his people were being killed in the pogrom. There was no time Ojukwu mentioned secession in his position in the Aburi meeting. He was solely prepared to protect the lives of all Easterners as a reasonable leader should do yet you blame him. Why did Gowon unilaterally created twelve states without the agreement of the regional governors? Can he answer this question? Gowon did that because he was instructed to do so by his puppeteers so as to whittle down the resistance of the Eastern region (divide and rule). This is the crux of the matter. Safe guarding the lives of the Easterners being massacred in the north wasn't his concern exactly like how the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore are kicking against Amotekun in the SW while keeping mute to the destruction done by their fellow herdsmen. We want Gowon to know that we're proud of Ojukwu with his team who did everything within their capacity to protect us from people like him. The innocent lives wasted will always cry against him.
