You implicated IPOB and now trying so hard to extricate them, you lie dear and there's nothing you can do about it in heaven, earth or in hell.
IPOB killed and caused the problem and would be dealt with accordingly. Even if the patrol van was 20kms away, IPOB members caused the mayhem and must be dealt with including you a supporter, Nigeria has no time for terrorists.

His side of story won't matter more than what we have seen. The murdered law enforcement officers with no justifiable reason whatsoever. They didn't stop at that but also burnt their copse beyond recognition. That lawyer is done, like done forever. It's over for him. I only pity his wife and children.
The lawyer is not done. He is a free man and soon you will see him back moving freely. Do you think the six innocent villagers killed are animals? They are very special to us. You guys think you can trick and threaten us same time. We are watching how it unfolds. Everybody will feel the heat I can assure you. They burnt over 20 properties but it doesn't bother you after all it belongs to Igbos. Everyone can bleed under the right condition. We are watching.

You are exactly the sort of shithead that Yoruba people tell: don't be unfortunate in life!

The checkpoints are not inside Ondo or Benin town. So, Ondo or Benin peeps can't feel the blockade unless they travel from Lagos to the SE. Comprende? Except you are travelling from Lagos to Onitsha, you cannot feel the negative impacts these police/army checkpoints pose to travellers.

If anyone from any part of Nigeria were to travel from Lagos to Onitsha, he will see what the issue is.
Since you have been unfortunate not to leave your mud house with its thatched roof, your tiny, almost non-existent mind cannot process real life events around you.
Since you are unfortunate not to own a car, or even board a public transport from Lagos or the SW to the SE, you do not see what the problem is.
A rational mind will ask himself, why on Earth is there up to 60 check points within such distance?
But people like you don't ever, have never, and will never know what it means to be rational or think constructively.
Don't worry. You shall be alright very soon. The ignorant ones are usually the first set of casualties.
Are you in any way related to Tiwa? That was Savage. You schooled him to the latter.

IPOB call Nigeria/Nigerians zoo/zoogerians YET everywhere they go in the world they carry Nigerian passport. And they are the first to complain that foreigners don't treat them well because of their Nigerian passport. So tell me you tell the whole world that the passport you are carrying is a zoo passport YET you expect foreigners to treat you with respect? I know that Igbos are not this dumb. So I question the Igboness of this so called IPOB. Perhaps the are Cameroonians. Otherwise how can you explain their monumental stupidity?
Most IPOB members call Nigeria a zoo but I prefer to call her a jungle. My reasons are because in a zoo, you find a careful organization with every animal properly catered for. However, a jungle is a place bereft of organization. It is survival of the fitest and smartest. You can't afford to oversleep or appear weak because it will cause you your life. In a zoo, you can do both and still remain safe because the care takers will invite the vet to check on you. The only disadvantage a zoo has is the regimented schedules and restricted movement. You see that a jungle aptly describes Nigeria.
Now to the passport issue, we can't interact internationally without a passport today because it is the basic form identification for proper documentation all over the world. So, because of this, we still carry the jungles passport while fighting for our fundamental human right. We will only appear foolish if we still brandish the Nigerian passport after our Biafra has been established. Today, lots of Nigerians showcase the passports of other countries beside that of Nigeria. Your message should be directed to them. No one who's proud of his origin will brag with the passport of another country even if he's got it. You see my friend that Nigeria is just existing with no bargaining power save for flexing muscles before tiny countries in West Africa. You gave up Bakassi without a challenge. You're soon going to pay a British firm millions of dollars forcefully for a project that haven't even seen the light of the day. Shame on you.

All of you baying for Igbo blood will have yours sucked. Looking at the pix of the corpse and burnt truck reveals a lot about the condition of those burnt in the truck. They were already dead and so couldn't move. What's their real identity? Why were over 20 houses and businesses burnt down. Who burnt them down? What solution did the destruction present? No! They don't bother to ask because Igbos are involved. Alright, let's see it goes.
For the first time, I'm proud of Ohaneze elders. They spoke as they should have spoken. Fulani terrorist herdsmen were called for a dialogue after killing thousands of people. Also mind the way you apologize to IPOB figure heads. They deserve no apology from any one. The group has been proscribed in the east and anyone holding meetings do so at their own risk.
See the one full of hatred hyperventilating. Ordinary cultists and political thugs carry arms to do destruction isn't it? However, if the situation of self preservation comes up, we would be foolish to remain docile. Our case stem from how we over the years have seen our people and land treated so unjustly. Are you scared of 'our people' picking up arms? You think your mundane reverse psychology will work among Biafrans? Do you think Biafrans don't see and feel the heavy dead weight you put on them? All those families grieving from your fulani herdsmen killings; do you bother to know how they're coping? All the extortion your police have been subjecting to motorists; do you think it is palatable to them? All the neglect of the infrastructure and denial of prime developments; do you think we're so ignorant of the debilitating effect it has had on our society? You guys think you can run a country the way you're doing? If our region has been treated fairly, then an average man will not listen to some one calling for a referendum. That millions of our people willingly comply with our request for the peaceful protest of staying at home all these while is a testament that we are echoing their feelings. Youre indeed smart and articulate. That is good and different from most IPOB followers. However, its sad that someone as smart as you are is following Nnamdi Kanu. Again most of the analogies and instances you made are tainted in lies. The only thing i can subscribe to was the money policy that says whatever you have you can only get so and so back in conversion, that was wrong. Again, just one thing i need you to do, go again and sample other states that are closer to you and the North, ask them if Biafra and Nigeria split, where will they rather be? It will surprise you that Rivers, Akwa-Ibom etc will rather go with the North than the Igbos. I personally from Kogi, and shares boundary with Igbos are Abokete and some areas, I DONT WANT TO BE RULED by the Igbos. I'll rather rule myself or if i have to choose between any state in the North and any state in SE, i will anyday anytime choose as Northerner with high school than igbo man with PHD. Most people think the same. My broda its not haphazard. Just like Ojukwu lied, promised heaven, used analogies, history, faith etc like youre doing now, but it did not work because its fundamentally based on lies.
Lol. You see no one is born with the knowledge of history and wisdom is but a gift. My quest for history started with a question one of my teachers asked me when I was but in kid in JSS 3. The question was; why are you behaving like this? Is it because you're Igbo? That statement struck me. I never knew anything about the war that time. I had heard about Biafran war but didn't know any details about its cause or whatever. I immediately started trying to understand what that question meant and today I need no one to tell me about it. My future experiences confirmed the bias that was directed to me and my ethnic group. I have read far beyond Nigeria or African history. Most wars fought all over the world I've read about them seeking to understand a lot of things. Today, I can boldly face anyone in this regard with instances to back up my points. You see my friend, you're still very far. You don't know the history of Nigeria. You've not even travelled enough to be able to know about 1/3 of Nigeria. Your posts showcase someone with an instituted prejudice against Igbos and I can't help you on this regard. Check all my posts on nairaland; you will see that I'm very rational in thinking and I'm not one of those blind followers. I do what I consider necessary and don't jump into foolish arguments.
Now as regards Nnamdi Kanu, I respect him a lot for his courage and doggedness. His steadfastness and unflinching loyalty to our people is what endeared him to me. He is the leader of IPOB and I'm a proud member of that prestigious freedom fighting group. He might have made some mistakes by frontal attacking some ethnic groups at the beginning of his broadcast and I believe he knows better now. He might have equally insulted some of our people too and I believe he would have retracted such insults. However, the crux of his fight is without doubt 100% genuine and worthwhile hence I proudly identify with the group. Over the years, I've learnt to winnow the wheat from the chaff. That he commands the respect of tens of millions of Easterners today is no easy feat. He was a nobody few years back but today he's recognised by millions cutting across all works of life tells you that there's something he's doing right. Let me teach you a little again from history. When the name 'Hitler' is mentioned, what comes to your mind? The Devil right? Well, for the Germans he was a saviour. You see, Germany was at the brink of total collapse until he stepped in and revived their national pride. We galvanized them and reminded them that they weren't failures despite all what the other countries wanted to make of them. For me Hitler was an enigma. He committed atrocities that could hardly be excused but he was indeed a leader. He was the Moses of the Germans. They for once felt proud about their nation again after the humiliation of that ignoble treaty. This is how I reason my friend. I look at things from perspective. The average Germans are known to be proud and pompous. That's their nature. If you can't deal with it then let them be. So, if you and by extension most of other ethnic groups feel Igbos shouldn't lead you in the same country because of whatever, then, let them be. They have a right to life just like you. It wasn't you who created them. Failure to understand this will only cause regret in the nearest future.
Finally, as for Rivers and Akwa Ibom states, you know nothing about them. Don't mind the impostors on Nairaland who come here to sow discord. It is easy to identify the origin of such dubious people. Akwa Ibom people and Igbos have been relating with one another for hundreds of years. In fact, we resemble each other more than any other group in Nigeria. For Rivers state, all is politics. At least 50% of the state is Igbo and more than 60% understand Igbo language. Speak of what you know.

Yeah, you're right about Ironsi. Who even mentions his name in the East? He was a foolish man who was sleeping while fire was raging in his compound. He put Igbos exactly where we are today. If he had released Awolowo, things might have been different. He was just full of himself and couldn't even take precaution for his own life despite all the warnings he received. May he rot in hell. Even Gowon- his Chief of staff never wrote anything of worth about him. He was just like Rochas of today. May we never have such a foolish kinsman as a leader again.

LegendHero:
I understood where you’re coming from and you sure have a point. Ojukwu had no other choice than to declare that war due to the killings of the Igbos in the North. Initially Ojukwu first told the Igbos to remain in the north even after the first killings took place coz he thought they will resolve it at first but he had to call them to leave the North after the northerners killed more people in the second and third massacre.

But left the me, the war could be avoided. He (Ojukwu) was too haste in decision making, he ought to have prepared well before the war especially in the aspect of forming alliance.

Awolowo hated the North initially coz they were part of the people that put him in prison and the resentment for the north in the western region among the people is more pronounced. But Ironsi was not calculative, had it been he released Awolowo, he would have amassed the alliance of the Yorubas with the Igbos. Gowon releasing Awolowo was the best decision ever to be made in Nigeria coz not only did he pacify the Yorubas, he employed the brain of Awolowo who proved more important in winning the Biafra war that later ensued.

Awolowo is a brain machine, having him as your enemy during that war might be the worst decision ever and even the western press re-echoed that thought multiple times.
I've to agree with you on the brain prowess of Awolowo. No doubt he had it even Ojukwu knew it. Ojukwu never intended to make enemies from the West hence I insisted on refusing that the push towards Lagos was meant to annex Yorubaland. That would be foolish and suicidal. Did you manage to get the transcript of Ojukwu-Awolowo meeting shortly before the war? I can still remember where Ojukwu said this to Awo in Yoruba language. 'Baba, ati n ló tiwa'- it was on a friendly note. Pls, do post the transcript here if you have it.
Now, I have to disagree with you that Ojukwu declared war on Nigeria. Show me expressly in any book where Ojukwu was said to declare war on Nigeria. He after been mandated by the Eastern assembly declared Biafra immediately Gowon violated one of the core agreements they had at Aburi. That point was that no decision binding on the federation would be effected without the agreements of the respective military administrators of all the regions. Gowon unilaterally created states breaking the Eastern region into three states without any agreement at the SMC. That was an affront and we could see his intent. In a bid to nullify the effect of the state creation, Ojukwu declared Biafra as mandated by the Eastern assembly. Gowon and whosoever shared his ambition declared war on Eastern Nigeria (Biafra). Can you disprove me on this?
Personally, I feel Awolowo saw an opportunity to hit Zik back after Zik gave his blessings for the creation of the Midwest region earlier in 1963 after a plesbicite. This move of breaking the East at that critical time was a point of no return. It is akin to what the former governor of Oyo did to the Olubadan when he created new kingship stools to spite him or what Ganduje did to Sanusi when he broke Kano emirates all in the bid to whittle Sanusi's influence and power. You see no one will take it lightly at such a critical time.
As for Ojukwu going to war without full preparation, I will blame him though I understand he was running out of time. He shouldn't have made that huge mistake having intelligently predicted most of the moves of the fulani led Nigerian government. He should have known better to see that the British never liked the East. It was an improper preparation like you rightly said which clearly showed that Ojukwu never intended to fight a war. Again, I feel he was banking on the religious affiliation with the Europeans (West) to assist the East. The rest is history.
Finally, a war aimed at unification is never fought like Nigeria did to Biafra. Using starvation and whole wiping out of communities? Do you see how senseless the present Boko haram madness is being handled by the present government? They're treated as erring family members but all manner of debasement was unleashed on the East. Do you see how billions have been allocated for the NE commission while nothing was earmarked for the East? The injustice of Nigeria against the East is sickening.

My opinion on this matter was clearly spelt out in the former thread. I said that Gowon might have made the request for his freedom after the SMC meeting and since Awolowo was in Calabar- Eastern region under Ojukwu, Ojukwu would have complied with it despite the unacceptable of Gowon as a legitimate leader because of what both sides stand to gain from it. This was my opinion. Ojukwu was important in his release. This is my inference. If Ojukwu had known that Awolowo will treat the Igbos the way he did, I can assure you that despite the order, Awolowo wouldn't have been released. In fact, he won't have returned alive.
