Anya (This is a form of greeting among the Idomas). I do know a tribe called Igede is in Benue state and you live very close to the Idomas and the Igbos of your state. Can you pls give a good deal of information about your people to enable curious people like us understand better? I once had an Igede colleague who bears the name 'Onah'. What does it mean in your language? |

You can quote me any day: it will be very lucky of this Bishop to survive this year. You can save this statement. I only hope that some other myopic people will learn a thing or two from what he said. |
truefact:That was totally uncalled for eventhough I understand your pain. You have to know that many people who have not tasted the bitter pills of these evil contraption will always speak without factoring in what others have suffered. I doubt if he's Igbo but even if he is, then I still know his type. They only understand when they've become victims too. Once again do not wish him such extreme travail. You can win him over with proper enlightenment. |
lincolnj88:The more you see the less you understand. Lalong I think should be from Mangu is trying to impress those who consider him a slave. Its quite appalling to say the least. When those merchants of death lay siege to his hometown he will understand what former Governor Jonah Jang has been fighting since. Christians simply don't learn from history. We will see what he will do for the Christians during Christmas. |
Macelliot:Exactly! He just picks figures to fit into his bigoted reasoning. I criticized him earlier only for him to respond with the census figures of SE states as at 2006 while giving the estimated population of the current Lagos state. Little wonder they so belittle the SE to their chagrin. |
Demmzy15:Though its true they are the same yet the one he used suits the object of his discourse. It conveys the message better by telling you that such a lady is outside the normal unstable nature of a many a lady. |
raumdeuter:Don't mind him aburo. He is wailing on an issue that doesn't concern him. We hope he is released safely. Even if he's not brought back alive there's nothing we will do. It happens all the time. We will bear it. |
Lol. Chaiiii. PDP thugs are now fulani herdsmen? Its confirmed already. The SW has been overran. |
OP, don't you think its insulting to say that Lagos has more Igbos than the entire south east region? Have you ever stepped into the region? Do you know the population of Igbos in other regions of Nigeria outside the south west? Its ridiculous how some of you churn out data to suit your innate prejudice and hate. That you see luxurious buses entering Lagos daily doesn't mean new entrants fill those buses. Lagos is a commercial centre so you're bound to have buses from all over Nigeria going into it. Many of those buses you see come from northern Nigeria and yes with a huge Igbo population too. You're myopic and insecure and I advice you to seek more knowledge first. An Igbo adage says: he who brings back home an ant infested wood has inadvertently invited the lizards to a feast. Focussing every economic stimulating infra structure to Lagos of course will attract an overwhelming population surge. When we were saying it you all thought you were wise. You have to live with it as we're still in 'one Nigeria'. Its either you support the development of other regions in the coast or you support the division of Nigeria so you can have Lagos all to yourself. As long as Igbos are still regarded as Nigerians they can reside wherever they chose to unless you start another boko in Lagos. Lol Many will be willing to oblige you on that. |
milkymesh:Any learned man must be critical of the things he's engaged with. I'm happy for you as you questioned lots of things. I advise you to search the Holy Bible and ask the Lord for revelations and you will get some convictions. Now let me tell you the summary of my deductions from the numerous revelations I got. God is God irrespective of our decisions. He created us as we didn't make ourselves. He gave us rules to abide with if we must be reunited with Him. Is He fair with the various distributions he gave humans e.g. Some are poor while others are rich? Some are ugly while others are comely? Etc I can't tell (blasphemy). Does He see the wickedness going on in the world? Yes. Why doesn't He intervene immediately as many are suffering? He's being gracious to those wicked people waiting for them to change. Does it appear they will change? Some will change while many will still fall. If that's the case why can't He just come and end everything once? Are you ready for His coming? What about those before us who followed what the bible said and have died without seeing the coming of Christ? They are in a safe place. Finally, this is the killer passage. We all are a product of God's workmanship. We have no say over what He chooses to do. A ceramic cup cannot ask his maker why he didn't use the clay to make Him a jug instead of the cup that he is. Therefore, we should not challenge God. However, we can pray for upliftment and blessings. For breakthroughs and mercy. He wields all the power; He has the power to create destroy without consulting any one. And to cap it all, the Bible said He would show mercy unto whom He would show mercy and He have compassion on whom he would have compassion. |
Udmaster:He surely has a point there. Listen and ponder and you you will get the message. There's no need to flaunt wealth when you don't have the political power and weaponry to protect any fallout with the ever present envious eyes around. Onye nwere nti ya nuru. |
This is very funny I must say. Of what essence is her appearance? More still, why not her image? Lol All I see is a freshly plastered wall as its clearly evident that the building is undergoing renovation. |
What a nice thread I must say. I will contribute my own when I got spare time because as it stands now I'm about to get busy. Nwanna Cheruv asked about the stereotypes of the Anioma but was not really responded to. I guess because OP said she was short of info from that angle. I'll handle this too when I return. @Odenigbo, take a chill pill as this is basically stereotypes which though may appear a true but with fact can be corrected so no need raising a dust. @Cheruv anam a bia. Udo dili unu. |
azimibraun:That guy definitely is from either of these states; Kogi, Benue or cross river with emphasis more on the first two. The appearance of the pix is like it was taken at a road block and nothing suggests that he is selling those tubers. He's aware of the pix and that may mean he's most likely not a military man. Looking at his sober looks tells me he was probably arrested for wearing a camouflage. |
The fourth pix and the first tells a lot. When you're being warned to keep shut don't brag too much. That jab surely will calm him down. I actually opened the thread to see some martial art and I wasn't disappointed. I love the post world war II Japanese. |
Tufiaaaaa! Ifele ndibeanyi na emem. Okwu na uka oge obuna. Anambra Ndigbo ji eme onu, o etua ka anyi si je? |
On whether Edo state would join Biafra I know a majority of Igbos wouldn't want it and I also know that some Edo groups do desire it on the other hand. I have an Edo friend who is totally tired of Nigeria such that he is ready to join any people willing to leave Nigeria. He is neither Bini nor Esan. The constant attacks against Igbos for wanting Biafra is totally unwarranted and I see any one who does so as been totally insensitive or overtly mischievous. Why would you want a man who has been denied his entitlement to keep quite and not voice out against the wickedness? Why would you hate a man who has chosen to chart a new course for himself when its evident that the present course is already a failure? I believe that all these set of people who jump up to insult Ndigbo at the slightest chance have never lived in the northern part of Nigeria. If you have your opinions will change. That my Edo friend and his family lives in the north. I did chart with his siblings too. I boldly say that the day Ndigbo leave northern Nigeria that day all these minority tribes would know that they have no country. They would physically be treated like foreigners. That day they would know that the Yorubas cannot be relied on. Finally, casting aspersions and insults on groups of people is not the right way to go about it. We all have our strengths and weaknesses. However, Nigeria has failed already and what needs to be done is for it to be broken. If the minorities of the Niger Delta don't want to be part of Biafra, its fine, they can form a country of theirs. There's no compulsion in nation building. But using the word south south to equate minorities of the Niger Delta is inappropriate. South south has a large portion of Igboland and millions of indigenous Igbos and they definitely would not jettison their kith and kins for another group so let our Edo friends be properly guided. If there wasn't the internet I would still blame the evil Nigerian media for misinforming the present youth but as information is readily available today, the fault lies squarely on your shoulders for holding unto fallacious information aimed at demonising the Igbos such that you impulsively develop hatred for them. Today, a majority of the Nigerian tribes have the Igbo mans pix before him and his sight seriously focussed on it such that what goes on at his backyard gets no notice until he is finally consumed. This exactly what was done to Jonathan and Nigeria will surely see the result. The fulanis a small tribe have been killing people and sacking them from their ancestral lands but there victims would rather point to the Igbo man as the enemy of Nigeria. False census and terrorism all from the Muslim north yet the Igbo man remains the problem. They can spill their last blood to stop the Igbo man but they can't even speak up as the slaughter of Villagers by the fulani mercenaries. I've spoken enough for today. We are watching. |
Now this is a big opportunity to nail the evil government of Nigeria. The IPOB rally officials should get in contact with foreign media organizations and intimate them on the latest development. Then let big banners be printed bearing messages that will incriminate the buhari government. Then let our elites lend a voice to the youths who are the strength behind the rally. Let powerful cameras be used to cover everything that will happen tomorrow. |
WhiteTechnology:Its been a while nwanne. I do hope you're fine. I will contact you soon. |
phantom:Timing is crucial nwanne. Well planned force always works wonders. Ask yourself how do fight? Or better who do we fight? Our alliances must be firm firstly and we must identify enemies of Nigeria and work with them. We are too big to be treated any how. Nigeria will simply collapse then and heavy support will come from outside. To hell with united Africa where your so called fellow Africans wish you death for no justifiable reason. |
Tkester:That was a bit too harsh I must say. He did mention his fears and its bound on you to allay them. @phantom we're not too nigerianized as you put it to seek freedom for our children. That federalism you're looking for you can't get it so why waste time? Think in this direction and you will know why the use of force happens to be the best option. |
Tkester: |
pazienza:Always on point nwannem. Jide k'iji. |

We are well aware of what the evil Nigerian government did to our people. This is the worst form of civil war ever fought in recent times. Total extermination was their target and the then British government was very complicit. Many of her parliamentarians were against but the prime minister was adamant. Supplying weapons to Nigeria while aiding a blockade of Biafra. It was hell on earth. How can we just forget what transpired? Its not possible. I will always remember this clause: all is fair in war. |
bolaino:Are you going to kill him? How can the same Nigeria he's tormenting want to protect him? You're not coherent dude. Since you guys refused the call for restructure then its better we create a situation that will bring the wolves to come and devour all. At least everyone will be crying. |
bolaino:bolaino I love people like you for your rants. Nnamdi Kanu is definitely playing a role and he knows it. He understands the price and have signed up for it. What you fail to understand is that there are multitudes like him that have equally sacrificed their lives. I tell you the truth: everyone will feel the heat this time around. Wars of nowadays don't end but lives keep on getting wasted. Your region will have a big taste of it too. When you see these things just remember I said so. |
StOla:A round of applause for you but be ready to face what comes around too. Any price will be paid for freedom. |
Jaideyone:My reference of Ibadan as disorganized was with respect to how the settlement was formed and not its military prowess. I want you to remember they fought only a small fraction of the fulani army. When the fulanis retreated to illorin they where preparing for a strong come back before the British intervened. |
OduaVanguard:The departure of the Oyos from katunga was not out of choice but from force and it was very recent. The end product is the formation of the disorganized Ibadan. Illorin remains a fulani territory(I'm not proud of it) and there's nothing you can do about it. The Yorubas there tried to challenge it during obj's era but failed when the new oba they installed died mysteriously. You can verify it through Google. And it was the fulanis that sacked old oyo not the small nupe. |
OduaVanguard:why you guys dwell in deceit is what I find difficult to understand. The original oyo capital called oyo ile was destroyed never to be recovered again. Illorin was taken never to be recovered again and you are blabbing. The fulani moved on to attack Ibadan but all yoruba army gathered to fight just a band of fulani warriors and you are rejoicing. Yes the fulanis were pushed back at oshogbo and the recamped at Illorin planning a massive attack on your useless army. They assembled a calvary of about 20000 men. It was only the British that saved you all. If not so you would have been roundly defeated. The fulanis know this so well that's why they don't take you guys seriously. You're a defeated people already. Anybody can research what I wrote her and prove me wrong. |
