sukkot: no, you will be a Godly person. yoruba and igbo are wicked people generally. they only think of themselves. so this act by this man is very rare for an igbo or a yoruba man. oh you thought i was on a tribal rant ? oh no, i am on a realistic rant. i am yoruba by the way. You are right by saying only Godly people carryout such grand gestures but I think Igbos have been more philanthropic than the Yorubas. There are many Igbos who have done a lot to uplift their communities than any other tribes in Nigeria. You wouldn't have heard of him if not for punch. Very silent contribution- my type of person. Note you can disagree with me by telling us of philanthropic Yorubas you know and their contributions either to their host communities or their homes of origin. I'm not in contest with you. |

I'll remember him in my prayers. People like T. A Orji should be banished from Igboland. Evil people who love to see their communities held down in poverty do not deserve to live. What this man is doing is similar to what our first Igwe did to elevate my once rural community to a town of reckon today in Anambra. That Igwe lived ahead of his era. Till date no one has stepped into his shoes. Shame to Chief Jonah Eze. A multi-billionaire with no vision for his people. |

Now, I'm very happy to hear he has planned to build a pharmaceutical plant in my home town. May it happen to the benefit of Ndigbo and other well wishers. The idea of the 14 storey building at his community may not be wise in my estimation but if true he may have his reasons since he's very educated. It may have a chance if built in a big town like Okigwe, Umunze, Ekwuluobia or Awka. |

For those of you who don't know, this man is building a 14 storey in his home town, pharmaceutical company, he sponsors over 400 law students and other field of study, He built two standard secondary schools with teachers quater! He bulk two churches with the priest building, gave them cars. He constructed dual carriageway in his home town.. This man is sending most of his kinsmen abroad for studies.. I urge any other media house to visit this town and see wonders!! This man is a God sent! I don't think the op captured it. And here I am thinking I alone have such a heart. May God bless him abundantly. His words struck me: what is the use of wealth if not to better the lives of others. Mr. Maduka you will never stumble. God will multiply you in billion folds so that you can do more. Anyone who plans evil against you shall suddenly to cut off. God will continue to guide you. I'm not too sure of this nonetheless I'll say it. While passing through this community sometime around 2010, a guy told me of a lingering crisis surrounding the name of the community. How a certain wealthy man was pushing for a change from the traditional name called Nkerehi to Umuchukwu. He said the man build a lot of things for his people and wants to use that to control the community. To me its just a one sided story so I didn't have much to say but I did see the market and church he built- what a beautiful church building. A road construction was equally going on at that time and the community is really a very rural one. Could it be this same man? |

buygala: There is something very fishy about that hole in the wall
The location of that hole and the presence of smoke signs only around that hole rationally depicts a concentration of the explosives in that area... in other words, The bomb most likely exploded while hanging in a bag on the wall, or being concealed IN the hole, since the hole will definitely be closer to the ground if the bomb was dumped on the floor in a hurry... This shows the bombers had ample time to plant the bomb
The most worrisome aspect of this is the fact that the part of the wall where the hole is appears recently patched-up, with the fresh cement color still very evident when the area is zoomed in.. A look at the hole shows its too small to be an air-conditioning wall space... So the other reasonable explanation is that the bombers broke the wall open, planted the bomb, and patched back the wall .. or the bombers simply got some military grade C4 or other explosive, broke open the wall, put the explosive and its timed detonator into the wall, and patched up the wall...And the mosque authorities either were careless enough not to notice the freshly patched area and /or the bag containing the bomb which may have been used to conceal the patchy area, or they were privy to the 'arrangement', and even helped bomb their own mosque by ignoring the obvious red flags
In summary, the scene of the bombing stinks of a planned and very relaxed orchestration of the bombing .... In my opinion, there was either no or too little security around the mosque, which invariably points fingers at the mosque's authorities as either aiding in the bombing or being so careless as to warrant them some hours of questioning at the DSS headquarters It couldn't have been buried in the wall. If it was the wall would have collapsed. At best it very close to that hole in the wall and was definitely brought into the mosque. |

honourhim: I dont have a problem with ethnic groups in the south south who dont want.to be part of Biafra but the truth is that a Niger Delta country will be as confused as Nigeria. Reason being that it will be made up of various ethnic groups with cultural and language differences just like Nigeria. The only thing that will be binding them is oil. The majority ethnic group will still dominate the minority and victimize them as we see in Nigeria. The day oil dries up, more confusion and trouble will spring up. Moreover, most of the Niger Delta ethnic groups are naturally lazy and therefore will lack the required manpower that is needed to drive their economy. In that case, surrounding countries (e.g. Biafra, Oduduwa and Arewa) will still dominate their workforce and economy. Forming a Niger Delta country wont favour them. First of all if you are Igbo, I am ashamed of you. Secondly if you are not from Niger Delta then face your business and leave them to determine their future. Its non of your concern what becomes of them. |

Infact he addresses Igbos as "those wicked Igbo people". God punish me if I'm lying. And he's always retelling how even the present Dein of Agbor (who changed his title from 'Obi' to 'Dein', ironically even though he has an igbo middlename he would rather trace his roots to Benin than Igboland. Smh. I still wonder why they loathe associating with you lot) had to be smuggled to England by the Oba of Benin to avoid being murdered by Igbo. You are nothing but a lying hypocrite trying to sound civilized, talking about you don't do tribalism. Omo, you must think you're talking to one of your dumb fellows. O Yes denial still happens in Ikaland but they still know they are Igbo. You can analyse Oliseh's denial statement even when he was not asked. It tells a lot. For the Dein his father's name was Chukwuma a very popular Igbo name among the Aniomas. He might want to cover up for his personal reasons but he knows the truth. His own name is Ikechukwu. Princess4eva: Igbo people always insecure and paranoid over trivial things. Too conscious and over reacting, crying foul when actually there's nothing. I hate that many people always thought me to be Ibo when I am 100% Yoruba . Their reason? It's only Igbo girls who are capable of such beauty.
Whenever I tell them I am Onye Yoruba, they argue I am hiding my identity. One even advised I should get a cutlass and threaten my mum to reveal my real identity. Deep down in me, I am beginning to accept may be I look like them. Too many people who are meeting me newly almost always just conclude I am Ibo and their assumption is always based on the same reason. Yeah Igbo girls are beautiful but Yoruba girls are cuter. Some will say don't go out anyday Igbos are being killed. They would have finished you before they discover you are Yoruba. My point- I don't like igbos, too aggressive and lousy, would have preferred to look like a Hausa babe. They are too full of themselves.
I am sorry about my rants, just an outpouring of my mind. When a girl speaks you definitely will know. You should better prefer to look like a Yoruba. Some Yoruba girls can be very pretty too. |

Saraki Denies Being Yoruba
https://www.nairaland.com/311148/saraki-fulani-mali
Yorubas are not left out in the identity crisis game. Several Yoruba-speaking groups have consistently denied being Yoruba. The Ijebus deny being Yorubas. Egun people in Lagos state are not Yoruba. I had a Nigerian classmate, Ayo, here in the US currently working with Cisco who graduated last spring that told me he is not Yoruba but from 'one tribe like that in Ondo' state. So guy abeg calm down jor. Some Yoruba-speaking people do not like being called Yoruba. Egun people are not Yorubas. That one is very clear. You just need to see their names to know. For the Ondo guy he might be right. I did meet some ladies(I was a family friend) bearing Yoruba names but they told me they weren't Yorubas. They said they are Ijaws. The Arogbos(heavily yoruba influenced) and the Apois still retaining strong Ijaw traditions. They call God Tamara unlike the popular Tamuno of the SS. There's also the Ikales of Okitipupa. When I got there the first man I met there told me 'here we don't speak Yoruba, we speak Ikale'. I regard these ones as Yorubas after hearing them speak though you can barely understand what they speak. They say 'kooro' for stand up. |

OkutaNla: Lol. Gerrarahere and quit deceiving yourselves abeg you rejects/lepers. If Igbos are so great, Ikwerres and Agbors won't be denying you all left and right. Instead you all are the ones always shouting "my brother, my brother", while they keep rejecting you all, sotay they seized your properties and renamed their cities to show their contempt for you. You people and your delusions. Smh. Lol. You know I said the truth. Presently two of my relatives are married to Yorubas. I've spent a lot of time with Yorubas so I know them. The Ikwerre story is quite different. They are trying to run away from their shadows the way a fowl will keep on running when you tie a black polyethene bag to its leg. They don't travel outside Rivers state so the SE Igbos in their place who are majority from Imo state do tolerate there insolence so much that's why they insult Ndigbo. Those of them who have stayed outside the SS are more respectful of Ndigbo. During my Service days I met one and we became friends right from camp. Fortunately we were posted to the same LGA for the PPA and so worked closely. During our interactions I sacrificed a lot for him cos I wanted to show him brotherliness but when he wanted to abuse it I cautioned him fiercely and he respected himself. No matter how the Ikwerres claim not to be Igbos they are still drawn to Ndigbo when a crowd of different ethnic groups gather. For Ndi Agbor its better. Majority of them know that they are Igbo just that they feel there's a difference between them and the SE Igbos. They are well travelled and reside where other Igbos reside. Generally most Igbos tend to prefer speaking their dialects than central Igbo and it makes the Ikas shy to speak theirs openly as its very divergent from the central Igbo. Then ignorance of many SE Igbos doesn't help matters as they tend to call those ones fake Igbos. So a sort of fence was built that makes the Ikas want to maintain their uniqueness however at present a lot of changes has happened and many SE Igbos now know that the Ikas are just as Igbo as they are. The barrier has been torn down though few people still want to tap into the previous state for personal gains eg Sunday Oliseh. Every tribe have something nice about them so I don't do tribalism. Just stating the fact as it is. |

Desmond Elliot did what he felt will give him an easier access and a smooth ride in his career. He's one actor I like so much. In a contraption like Nigeria you need to do what is necessary to survive. Many people use northern/Islamic names to join Nigerian Army. What about the Babayaro brothers? Do you know their story? Chukwuma Soludo was Charles when he first became the CBN governor. In the north many Igbos and Yorubas use English names to get what hitherto wouldn't be given to them. This is the Nigerian story. That's why I hate this Nigeria. Tribalism killed Nigeria. |

Ugomba: I have noticed that people with (yoruba father and Igbo mother) are always quick to tell you that they have an Igbo mother when you ask them about their identity. I have one of them as friend, he is working in warri. Don't know why they behave that way! True. Yorubas secretly admire the Igbos and have such a high regard for them but you know they can never admit it outwardly. While I was in Ondo state, I did enter restaurants where Yoruba women used Igbo names to advertise their business. This happened in two occasions. One of the women could cook our soups so well that you will never believe she wasn't Igbo. The other one was nothing to write home about. You can see how they take pride in dating our women as though they are angels. Psychologically you can decipher that have an extra crave for our women as they placed ours above theirs. Which Igbo man will always make reference to his yoruba wife? Most times he can only be defensive. See the way they announce having Igbo inlaws. You don't need to be told whats up. I hate tribalism but I have to put things in their right perspective. |

Why do a majority of dissident voices here think our hands of friendship extended to our closest neighbours in the old eastern region is because of oil? Why? Its quite sad that some of these minorities can buy into the false tales being told them by their own worst enemies. For the umpteenth time we are not after any oil because we do have such in abundance within our own lands. We are only concerned by the suffering we see in their midst which we know should be if a responsible government should be in place. rhymaster: Overseas how? That is an excuse that even the most unlearned Nigerian will see through but if you mean Nigeria as overseas, you must understand that the terms of separation which must favour and protect Nigerians alone (we are not responsible for Ibos or Biafra) will dictate that you must do whatever you wish to do with your property, job, business, etc and then leave to Biafra!
If Nigeria wishes to have anything to do with Ibos (which I am 99% sure it would prefer others from anywhere else over Ibos ), it will open an embassy in a border state and you may apply for a strictly limited visa. That is still Nigeria's prerogative, no Biafra or UN or whatever has a say in that. No guise of overseas would be enough an excuse, and if you must own properties overseas go somewhere else but not in Nigeria and surely it must be on Nigeria's terms!
Ibos are so funny! You resign a job today to work elsewhere but you still want your monthly employee benefits in the former place of work? You just for a supposed independence but still want to be a citizen of the same country you just left or have the rights you had previously. How does that even make sense? If Ibos get Biafra, they must leave 100% and never return and these will be well documented even before any separation and you will be 100% surrounded by Nigeria. We will dictate what can be imported and exported through our sea ports or airports and who and what may come in or out. You will have no rights to import weapons or raw materials to import such. You will not be allowed to produce weapons because you are an enemy state and we will have to inspect the entire country on a monthly basis to be sure you are up to no good as usual. Lol. In Rivers for example with over 21LGAs, oyigbo is the only igbo dominated LGA out of 21, these half baked god forsaken traders think that UN will conduct a Biafran referendum there at the expense of Ikwerre, calabari, Okirika, Ogonis etc.
Bayelsa has no single Igbo dominated LGA yet they are expecting a referendum, same for cross river, Akwaibom is stradling around Abak area . Delta has about 5 Igbo LGAs that can not even form a referendum quorum. It is clearer that these illiterates have no idea how the real world works.
UN was clear on indigenous people rights not indigenous groups right, Biafra will eventually get just 5 states out of 36, I doubt if Nigeria will notice their exit. Also note that the indigenous people's right is tied to indigenous land rights in the 2007 declaration, yet these illiterates are hoping to get Biafra on Efik soil.
