ganisucks:The sofa that the IGP is sitting on can't be found even on the altar of that Church. This tells you who is been given more regard in that Church. People are taking note of what our Churches are becoming nowadays. |
illicit:What is he scared of? |
LaRosa01:Lol. See this onuku. Them tell you say Igboland na only the 5 SE states? You be thief? |
LaRosa01:So what do we do to both the Igbos and Fulanis? Expel them from Nigeria right? |
Enice:Can you present any document to support the 'two year difference' in Obi's age like you claimed? We are waiting for your response. Don't run away. |
Calitoscassius:Since when have a people, a community or even family members stop having problems among themselves? It is nothing new and shouldn't be viewed from the prism of tribalism. Wasn't it just last year that Kogi state government had a problem with Dangote cement at Obajana? They forced the company to shut down. Did you call them out as northerners against northerners? Common sense should tell you civil matters will always arise and it is best to listen to both parties first before jumping to conclusion. Have you heard the people's story with the man before you jump into conclusion? Don't your omoniles still attack other Yorubas and destroy their properties? Learn to use your head properly. |
Enice:Is my observation wrong? If not, why did you make this useless comment? Always endeavour to reason out things well before commenting. |
Calitoscassius:Must you guys turn everything to tribalism? You should wait to hear the full story before allowing tribalism take the better of you. Did you see anyone tribalise Mohbad's death? Why are you sons of Oduduwa so attached to tribalism? Tufiakwa! |
LegendHero:The year of birth doesn't tally with the official year he has been parading. Your transcript says 1954 while he has been claiming 1952. Certainly, there's no truth in this document that you posted. Go back and remould it again. |
Meanwhile, flooding is coming from Cameroon and will hit major cities and towns in about two weeks from now. What plans has the government of Nigeria put in place to control the situation and also to help the people when emergencies arise? |
It is easier for Togo astronauts to successfully land on the moon than for Nigeria to ever develop or achieve greatness. Instead, she will continue to use most of the resources to fight Igbos which will make her remain in stagnancy while her problems and population continue to grow. No sane human being with ambition will like to stay in Nigeria 30 years from now. It will be very scary to do so. The sheer number of religious terrorists, violent criminals, touts and uneducated layabouts will be so huge that even soldiers will be fearful for their own lives. This is too obvious. |
KGBKremlin:Of course, you're an Ogbomoso deltan. Cowards who love to attack from another location and identity to draw fire to other people. Such deceitful people I have never seen before. |
KGBKremlin:The average mind of a Yoruba man. Na make una dey see am o. Their ethnic profiling agenda is still heavily ongoing. |
Very shameful what nairaland has become. |
IbeOkehie:Ok. Whatever rocks your boat. We all shall see how Nigeria ends. Ndigbo will surely outlive Nigeria. |
ChiefJusticeFuc:Hate which occupied your heart and mind will easily becloud sound reasoning. Aguiyi-Ironsi wasn't declared dead at the time Awolowo was released and Ojukwu will always ask Gowon the whereabout of him. Ojukwu never accepted Gowon as his superior and never took orders from him. Nothing would function in the East without Ojukwu's approval. That alone will let you know who released Awolowo.
|
ChiefJusticeFuc:As at the time Awolowo was released, both Ojukwu and Gowon were Lt. Colonels and Ojukwu never recognised Gowon as his superior and as such didn't take orders from him. Gowon couldn't have ordered Ojukwu to release Awolowo from Calabar Prison and send him to Lagos. Only Ojukwu had the power to do so. Gowon even mentioned it in the decree he issued on 27th May, 1967- 9 months after Awolowo was released from the prison in Eastern Nigeria. Gowon became the C-in-C on 27th May, 1967 and was promoted to Major General on the 1st of June, 1967. Know your history and don't allow hatred to kill you.

IbeOkehie:Let's get this thing very clearly. Was the offer for secession at the regional or ethnic level? I believe you'll agree with me that it was at the regional level and not either party or ethnic. Nnamdi Azikiwe an Igbo man from the Anioma clan might have seen the possibility of losing majority of his clan to Western Nigeria and he thought it was best not to allow it. It might partly be what encouraged him to seek for a united Nigeria. You certainly cannot fault him on this. Anioma situation was always a problem for the entire Igbo nation because of where the British placed them. The same thing still happened during the Biafran War. We on the Eastern side can't just leave our brothers behind. We suffer together and move together. The Igbophobia in the north wasn't enough to make our leaders denounce pan-Africanism because they believed that with better understanding, we all could live together and build a super country. Remember that we just met under the British and our ways appeared strange to one another at the time. Today, the Igbophobia in northern Nigeria is only localized to the muslim Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri areas. The rest don't really have a problem with Igbos. The main problem is the fulanis who wield the power and are able to manipulate others politically to hate and work against Ndigbo. You should go and read about Gideon Orkar's coup. It will make you realize that some other ethnic groups in the north and middlebelt have realized that Igbos were never the problem. This is why many minority ethnic groups in the middlebelt are tilting towards Igbos today. They will never accept to be in the country with the fulanis... this I'm very sure of. I'm a very firm proponent and active supporter of Biafra. I'm proudly an IPOB member but I know that if Nigeria is restructured in such a way that Ndigbo are all put in one region with our own constitution and we control our land and resources, I'll favour it over Biafra. My reason is simply pan-Africanism and the benefits that we all can get from it. However, I know that that type of restructuring won't happen in Nigeria because of 'bad belle' people who rather die than watch Igbos progress. This is why I'm currently putting my all for the emergence of Biafra. Finally, I can wager that you neither know the main reason behind Congo nor Rwandan problem. I won't go into their issues unless you ask specifically about them then I'll tell you because my studies about various African countries is very deep to understand their peculiar problems so I can see how it affects pan-Africanism in general. Mind you, I grew up in northern Nigeria so I know what is obtainable over there. |
Reno should bring more lies and we will expose him for trying to lie against Igbos in his sycophantic crave for crumbs from the Yorubas. |
Here's an excerpt from an interview between Rudolf Okonkwo with Chief Odumegwu Ojukwu on 9th July, 2001. Rudolf published it on Sahara Reporters Online on 26th November, 2011 after he was unable to get another interview with him due to his illness. I'll put the link for everyone to verify. As you can see, Reno Omokri is a compound liar and should never be taken seriously. https://saharareporters.com/2011/11/26/my-last-interview-dim-chukwuemeka-ojukwu-rudolf-okonkwo You'll find this exact excerpt in the 4th to the last response of Ojukwu. You'll have to scroll down almost to the end.

IbeOkehie:My identity has been proven here and those who know me know so very well. Your argument is very weak and it fails to substantiate your claims against Zik at the Lancaster Constitutional Conference. Like I said before, he brought his argument to the table just like the others brought theirs. It was debated with all bearing in mind that failure to have a concensus will mean no date for independence. If out of three regions and political parties, only one had a preference for a united country with the other two favouring a lose set up susceptible to splitting at any point in time, it is expect that he was able to convince the others even if reluctantly to his side for independence to be granted. The proposal for a united Nigeria wasn't a bad one due to the situation of Africans at the time. The opportunity offered by a working united Nigeria is far bigger than whatever any sectional country could ever achieve. How you guys choose to demonise Azikiwe over a simple proposal of uniting African groups at the time is unbelievable. Mind you, every agreement is subject to review after a set period of time including whether a country remains united or not. It is just typical of Nigerians to find the coward way out by blaming an Igbo man for all their woes. Many countries have splitted after they've lived for centuries due to the discovery of their irreconcilable differences. Nigeria ordinarily should be no different. Theophilus Danjuma who was a key player at the time has recently asked for a renegotiation of the lopsided contraption. He isn't daft to be laying blames on someone who simply favoured a united country at a time Africans were just finding their feet. That is what real men do instead of not facing their current realities. Finally, let's consider if Awolowo's argument had prevailed. Nigeria wouldn't have lasted past 1963. The Western region would have pulled out first followed by the north. It means Igbo groups would have been trapped in Western as well as northern Nigeria with the Igbophobia prevailing there. Nothing guarantees that the East won't have tried to help our people in Anioma if they send an SOS message to us. The same goes for our people in Benue and Kogi. On our side in the East, nothing guarantees that we could have been able to sort out whatever grievances existed between us and COR areas. It might have been a cocktail of problems for the three countries that could have emerged from the breaking of Nigeria in 1963. If any happens to succeed, it will still be shy of what Nigeria could have offered and everyone would have been left wondering what it could have been like if Nigeria had been left united. Today, we all can agree that our differences are irreconcilable thanks to Nnamdi Azikiwe and the rest. We can now agree to go our seperate ways and manage whatever we can make out of our smaller countries. This is the reality on ground. Stop blaming Ndigbo for whatever perceived crime an Igbo person might have committed. Extend the same accusation to persons from other ethnic groups and not the whole. This is how it is done every other place on the planet. |
IbeOkehie:Since he followed the rules of the conference, then why blame him? You think you're smart but unfortunately, I spotted holes in your claims and I deciphered you aren't who you claim you were hence I alluded to your thought process being 'unIgbo'. Of course, everyone from an ethnic group can't reason exactly alike but the stream of thought will still bear markers that share some resemblance especially when you grew up in the midst of your people. You failed the test just like your so called discussion with the Eze of Agbor, Dr. Edozien. You claimed it wasn't Pan-Africanism that was behind Zik's quest for a united Nigeria. I now ask you to state what you thought was his reason or like Igbo haters will always do; what was the reason behind all Igbos wanting a united Nigeria at the time other ethnic groups didn't key into it? Finally, my choice of a moniker i immaterial to our discussion so look for something tangible and use as a come back. |
IbeOkehie:I'm beginning to doubt your claims of being Igbo because your thought process is really flawed. You claimed to have discussed with the Eze of Agbor Dr. Edozien whereas no title like that ever existed. I wonder whatever fallacy you've been saying here. I repeat, Nnamdi Azikiwe couldn't have imposed his argument for a united country on the others. His reasons were and can still be understood. Africans need to stick together so our voice can have more impact. If Nigeria had worked, he will be celebrated as a hero. It's unfortunate that it never worked as those who insist on ruling her are bereft of the ideas needed to make her work. The idea of a united Nigeria wasn't a bad one. |
Ritchiee:Under Ironsi, each region had their own constitution and still controlled their own resources. How then can you say he started the death of regionalism? Can you post excerpts from his decree that support your claims about it leading to the destruction of regionalism? NOTE: Don't post any commentary from anyone. Post strictly from his decree 34. |
IbeOkehie:You might be a good economist but you're poor in politics especially Nigerian politics. Whatever was agreed in the Lancaster Conference was first debated and her merits and demerits weighed by her participants. Azikiwe couldn't have imposed his will on other members. Zik was operating on a different wavelength from the rest as he was a Pan-Africanist. Nothing was wrong with that. As for Nzeogwu's Coup, he granted an interview where he gave insights into his reasons for the coup. His regret was that the coup never went exactly as he planned it. People did celebrate the coup at the time until it was given ethnic colouration. Go and read up about the first coup in Ghana which was similar to Nzeogwu's coup but Ghanaians didn't allow it degenerate to ethnic killings like was done in Nigeria. Ghana's coup was just 1 month and 1 week after Nzeogwu's coup. Ironsi on his side I can concede made terrible mistakes. He was detached from reality and couldn't see the danger ahead of him. He was so relaxed in a very tensed atmosphere and we are paying for it today. I really wish he intended to do what he is still being accused of. Perhaps, our soldiers could have countered the coup against him which will eventually lead to chaos and the division of Nigeria by force. Under his watch, over 300 eastern soldiers where massacred without much resistance. Would it have happened if truly he was power hungry? Certain things are very easy to deduce. Do you know that Igbos were also attacked during the western crises known as 'operation wetie'? Igbophobia was rife at the time both in the North and West but it was worse in the north. I insist that the interpretation of heaping the fault on Ndigbo is totally wrong. Some Igbo individuals can be blamed just like other persons from other ethnic groups are blamed for their actions and inactions but the prevaling position of the Nigerian state to blame the entire Igbos for the crimes of a single person must be challenged and condemned by every well meaning person. It is the reason why only Igbo individuals are selected from every government for probing and persecution in some cases while other culprits from the same government are spared. Case in point, only Emefiele is being held while all the other persons in Buhari's regime are left to enjoy their loot. You may think you're very smart because it has not gotten to you and I really pray it doesn't get to you. I wish you understand what I'm trying to say without you witnessing it first hand. Finally, it is almost 60 years since no Igbo man rule Nigeria. Why have those you considered not responsible for the decay of Nigeria been unable to develop her? Why do you absolve them from the blame of the current failure of Nigeria? |
MT:Ok. So we can now agree that he did not abolish the regional system right? The regions existed until his death and nothing was traced to him to suggest he wanted to abolish them. Gowon we all know was been controlled by powers that be. The northern people's coup of 1966 was not hatched by Gowon and as such, much of the decisions he implemented cannot be said to be exclusively his. The unification he pursued which you all are condemning him for today was caused by the prevailing direction of the time. No region was being suppressed at the time and everyone was on equal footing. Only the West was in an unfavourable situation because Awolowo was in jail while Akintola was no more. There was nothing Aguiyi did to suggest he wanted to exploit either the West or the North. It was pure Igbophobia that worked against him. The north was chanting 'Araba' under him while the West being in an uncertain situation due to the leadership lacuna could have opted for pulling out too. I believe Ironsi felt securing the country first was paramount before power can be handed back to civilians. He only lasted 6 months before he was killed. How the story now changed to him abolishing regionalism remains very surprising. The north who was shouting 'Araba' suddenly changed stance and abolished the regions to create a system that will favour them till date with the rest of you just following without accusing them of what you had earlier accused Ironsi. Isn't that double standard? Almost 60 years on and their creation has persisted. Today, a Yoruba man is the president and he has the power to undo what the Ironsi was accused of but we all know he won't do it. It must be kept while the Igbo man is pointed as the architect of it all while Nigeria deteriorates together with the future of millions of her young ones. Such is the wisdom of black people. |
Meanwhile, here's Gowon's decree 14 and 15. He is the one who abolished the regional system, appropriated exclusive power to himself and created more states in the north thereby giving them more seats in the House of Assembly. Gowon is the culprit here. Cc. MT

MT:I'll refrain from insulting you so you don't run away. I want us to have a discussion on the exact contents of that decree. Did he abrogate the regions? NO Did he appoint military officers to over see the provinces/regions? YES Did he allow each province/region to keep their own constitution? YES Why then are you people lying that he truncated the regional system? He was a military man and wanted to stabilize the country the way he felt would be better by using the military until he hands over back to the civilian. Similar thing was happening in ghana at the time too. |
MT:Can you show me which section exactly abrogated the regionalism practiced at the time? Show exactly where he appropriated the resources of the regions and decided that he will be sharing allocations to whatever new things he created. I'm waiting for you o. |
MT:I asked for the exact words contained in Aguiyi's Decree 34 but you're giving me commentary by another person who might have interpreted it wrongly. I ask again, provide the exact decree Aguiyi Ironsi enacted and make sure you read it yourself so we can discuss it very well. I'm waiting for you. |
MT:Provide proof to your claims. Don't cite any decree just post the content of the decree so we can read where and how he changed it. If you fail to do so, then you're a big liar and should never be granted audience. |
Ritchiee:Why are you so filled with lies? Can you provide proof that Aguiyi Ironsi spoilt it? Don't quote any decree for us. Post it here so everyone can read it for themselves. |
