BlackSaints:There's no time I mentioned Ibiibio in my statements about Okrika. As for Igbo, the Igbo language still spoken in Okrika is a testament to the history of Igbos found in some of the communities that are currently under Okrika LGA. |
BlackSaints:That's the new name you guys gave it. The path you guys are treading will certainly not end well. For your information, Okrika people originally occupied only the Okrika island from which they used to fish and bring upland to trade with both the Igbo and Obulom people. There are historical records to buttress this. |
Ijoh:OK. I have just a simple question for you. Your answer will tell those following this thread who's more correct between you and I. Between Bayelsa and Rivers state, which of them has more Ijaw population? You should back it up with an approximate population for each. |
BlackSaints:There are Igbos in both local governments. There's Ndubuisiama (which has been renamed now by those altering history for their selfish aims) and Chukwuama. |
Alabo7978:All of you claiming a people totally unrelated to you are clowns. Are you not ashamed to be claiming everywhere that Ijaws lose their language to other languages including a tiny obolo language? For your information, all the languages around the coastal area of southern Nigeria has been understudied and well classified. No history revisionist can tamper with it. We know all Ijaw areas (LGAs) and those they share with others both in Bayelsa and Rivers state. The only LGAs in Rivers state with only Ijaws is Akuku Toru and Asari Toru. The rest that you Ijaws do claim all have other ethnic groups in them. Here are the LGAs shared by Ijaws with other tribes; Okrika, Degema, Ogu/Bolo, Bonny, Opobo/Nkoro and PH. That said, these listed LGAs are totally unconnected to Ijaws namely Abua/Odua, Andoni and all the Ogoni LGAs. In the same manner it has been established that Ijaws occupy exclusively only 4 LGAs in Bayelsa. The remaining four they share with others. Now unto established patterns that show how a people are heavily influenced linguistically by their neighbours, cross border influences doesn't erode totally a neighbours traditional language. Even military conquest by a smaller group doesn't result to the total erosion of the indigenous language. The most probable reason behind the supplanting of an indigenous language is the invasion by a more populous people in which case the smaller group is easily edged off. This has been confirmed overtime as I'll prove to you. Ordinary cross border influences see only the borrowing of words, names, customs and festivals. It doesn't change the entire language or even the construction pattern of simple sentences of the original language. This is the most common form of intercultural influence. It exists in almost all border communities. Ijaw Apoi of Ondo state were able to retain the majority of their Ijaw element because the level of interaction with Yoruba groups was minimal compared to the Ijaw Arogbo group who today have been so influenced so much that the language and culture is giving way for Yoruba ones. The reason is simply the level of interaction and intermarriage. Both groups call God Tamara as against the more popular Tamuno but there's no doubt about their original ancestry. Because of their isolation and huge Yoruba group surrounding them, the Arogbo group will be lost entirely in the next two generations. The Apoi group will last longer. For the Obolo people whom Ijaws called the Andoni, there's no single proof that they were Ijaws who lost there language. First of all, they are not an isolated group because they share boundary with Bonny lga which has a lot of Ijaw communities. Secondly, the current Obolo language is completely distinct from any of the Ijoid languages and is unique in that it's not a dialect of Ibibio nor is it Ekoi but a mixture of both including words from Igbo. How come a distant Ekoi featured in the language but a nearby Ijaw is conspicuously absent? That tells you that the people are a distinct people and not a phantom Ijaw group that lost their language. The Obolos call God 'Awaji/Owaji', which isn't in any way related to Tamuno. Everything about them is clearly distinct from even nearby Ijaw groups yet some clowns come online to claim them. All false claims by Ijaws are currently being visited and dealt with. YouTube is there to help verify the indigenous languages of places. You all like to talk about what you know nothing about. Onitsha by her virtue of location, language and customs can be hardly related to Benin. Onitsha is at least 40 km radius away from any Benin speaking community. Surrounding her all around are other Igbo groups so it's just pure wonder how you or anyone can claim Onitsha as having her Royalty from Benin. The Ezechima story has been dealt with satisfactorily which tells of a reverse migration. There are many other Onichas in different parts of Igboland. Even in Anioma commuinities closer to Bini where few Bini refugees found refuge still remains Igbo speaking simply because their population was too small to cause any significant change in the language and customs. Onitsha isn't a good example to use when discussing about intercultural influences. In conclusion, Andoni is not Ijaw nor Ijoid. They are a distinct people with a different language only related to Ekoi/Ibibio. Through history, they were recorded to have interacted with different groups including the Ogonis, Ibibios, Igbos and Ijaws but some how have managed to maintain their unique identity. We are watching all your moves. You should thank me for schooling you. |
Ijoh:Lol. So they lost their dialect entirely to a tiny tribe? Una funny no be small. Ok. Tell us what century they lost that dialect and to which people did they lost it? As for the paracetamol, we are just being our brothers' keepers. You know what I mean. |
Alabo7978:Andoni language is Ibiobiod/Ekoid with some Igbo. Ijaw doesn't feature in it so I wonder how you Ijaws find it easy to claim them. YouTube videos abound of the Andonis celebrating their language and promoting it. It's funny how some of you come to claim them and their remnants in Eastern Obolo (Akwa Ibom state) even going as far as Ibeno- which isn't occupied by Obolo people. I see such claimants as clowns that shouldn't be taken seriously. |
Dele Momodu has spoken out and history has recorded. Let the remaining bastards call politicians and leaders in southern Nigeria continue to remain silent because of petty politics. E go soon reach all of una. |
Go on With one Nigeria. It doesn't matter if innocent people are slaughtered by the fulanis in there millions as long as Nigeria remains, it is all well. Rest in peace to the innocent dead. |
blastac:My message to you is very clear. Igboland will suck your blood for pretending to be Igbo while seeking to bring her down. Watch and see how it happens. |
Shame. The world can see how our culture is being desecrated by the criminal Nigerian security men. Isn't this the popular Mkpo na ana explosives used during burials and other ceremonies in different parts of Igboland? You must have seen this in some nollywood home movies over the years. This practice of using explosives predates Nigeria but here we have the Nigerian security abusing an integral practitioner of our culture. Shame. You all can see the type of person oyigboupdate is. He's clearly an enemy of Igbos and Biafrans in general. |
Anyone supporting the continuation of one Nigeria without speaking out against the genocide perpetrated by Fulani terrorists is also a blood sucker. An evil contraption full of hypocrites. Tufiakwa. Rest in peace to the Benue dead. |
blastac:Fools like you don't know that all Igbo groups have signature terms that are decoded by grounded Igbo linguists. Your impersonation is very poor before me. You're a bastard for attempting this weak comeback. All you stupid agents of the DSS will be given the maximum treatment when we lay hands on you. We know all your antics and are well prepared for them. Watch and see. May death never depart from the family of all those who pretend to love Igbos and Biafrans but secretly wish our destruction. May Igboland suck their blood and witness their last breath. Iseeeee. Eranko ti oni opolo. |
OboloMAN:Hello Oboloman. I've been doing some studies about the Obolo people and I have some questions for you. 1. As a speaker of the language, what other neighbouring language shares more words with the Obolo language? Give it in percentages if possible. 2. I watched videos of the Obolo people organising symposiums about promoting the obolo language. How much progress have been made so far? |
blastac:I don't waste my time on dogs like you who for pittance will impersonate ndigbo just to paint a wrong narrative. One of those your canines will bite you to death for claiming who you're not. Oponu radarada. Biafra will come but you will not be there to see because you hate her for no reason. You're a fool for attempting that useless game on me. Don't you ever try it again omoale. |
Where's the terrorist Nigerian army to defend the people of Gone state? The blood suckers are in the SE killing innocent villagers. All of them will die painful deaths. Death to the terrorist contraption where only fulanis have the licence to kill people and take over their lands. |
Proudlyomonna:From today notice how well known Igbos will be wary of you. In fact, many will flag you down because I've bursted you already. I won't waste further time with you agent of the terrorist government of Nigeria. Death to the evil contraption where fulanis have the licence to kill indigenes on their own ancestral land and the Nigerian army are always available to defend those fulanis. |
Kingozymandias has exposed himself in this thread. He and Frigga are working for the same people with the aim of misdirecting our people after briefly supporting us on some threads. After they feel they've blended enough, they now come out with their original motive. Notice how oyiboupdate doesn't bring any good news about the SE nor appears in any thread discussing her progress. This is because his own strategy is to directly lie and post arranged pictures and videos claiming such destruction to be the handwork of IPOB. Irrespective of whatever strategy they come with, we in IPOB will checkmate them while perfecting our march to freedom. |
Proudlyomonna:I'm an old member on nairaland and my identity is verified. My stance and defence for Igboland and Biafra is not in doubt. Who are you bastard? I've been banned countless times and I stay silent until my ban expires no matter how long it may take but my projections about Nigeria always comes right. Your Nigeria is a dead country and we shall help to bury it. Out of its place come beautiful countries ala Biafra, Oduduwa republic, Midbelt republic and a few others. The point is that Nigeria must die so that the huge black human resources trapped inside of her may be free to explore our full potential. Who are you bastard? Proudly IPOB. |
Ijoh:Bingo! You just confirmed that you're not Ijaw. There's a reason why many avoid arguing with me on nairaland. I burst fake monikers and impostors. You're a Yoruba pretending to be Ijaw all for useless politics. Let me educate you small. Bayelsa was created completely from the old Rivers state. Ijaws in the old western region where splitted into two with one going into the Mid West and the other remaining in the Western region( Ondo state). None them was included in the creation of Bayelsa. |
Eastlink:OK. I'm waiting for them. I want to write a complete story about Adaka Boro so I'll need these facts to back it up. |
Ijoh:Most Ijaws were under Western Region. It was a few that were under Eastern region You've used the bolded quite often which proves that you don't know your story and strongly suggests that you're not even Ijaw. Let's mark out the three states with a substantial Ijaw population in the order of higher population. Bayelsa, Rivers then Delta. Out of the three above, Bayelsa and Rivers were entirely carved out of the old Eastern region. How on earth can anyone moreso an Ijaw claim that only few Ijaws were under the Old eastern region? Do you see how foolish you sound? You sound like an impostor for failing in this obvious history. Another funny lies you're parroting about is how Ijaws number to about 20 million. A simple question to check the claim is this. Which state between Bayelsa and Rivers have more Ijaw population? Already, we know Bayelsa population to be about 3 million currently of which not all are Ijaws. How many ijaws are likely in Rivers state? Clearly below 2 million. Where then are the rest Ijaws that make up the 20 million? Do you see why you're a clown? Take note. Don't engage me in an argument you're not 100% sure of because you will be totally floored. |
Can you upload link to sources about Abaka Boro's army activities in the old rivers state. I've been searching for it without success. I know Boro had sponsorship from fulanis in the north. |
Proudlyomonna:Just see how incoherent you sound. Is there any almajiri that will ever support IPOB? As a psychologist I already know how confused and defeated you are. This is why you're trying desperately mumbling mumbo jumbo just to discredit IPOB. Well for your information, IPOB is even more stronger today. We are in our millions and everywhere doing whatever is necessary for the freedom of Biafra. We are not after other people's ancestral lands like Fulanis. We are proud of our own lands and human resources. Viva Biafra. Death to the evil contraption. Proudly IPOB. |
Notice how all those paid agents claiming to be Igbos online will shy away from this thread. When UGM kill the terrorist Nigerian soldiers, they will rush into the thread and claim that it is IPOB members that are killing fellow Igbos but now we can see clearly that they will never return the same accusation when innocent Igbo young men and women are killed. It is simply because they're not Igbos so they don't feel the pain of the death of an innocent Igbo person. Rest In Peace Roco. Your death will be avenged. |
Proudlyomonna:How is the activities of IPOB in Biafra a problem to a non-Biafran living outside Biafran territory? No be panadol you dey drink on top another people problem be dat? I don't the time for urchins like you. We are fine tuning things for our new nation already. |
Proudlyomonna:Nigeria is the biggest fraud ever to exist. Who is his right senses will want the continuation of such a blood sucking contraption? Iraq that was devasted by war will in the next few years bounce back and be far more developed than Nigeria which only saw war 50years ago. |
Lol. Who takes an oba that wears g-string seriously. Anyway, it is meant for those Igbos who are yet to get the message. Continue wasting your time having faith in a useless contraption where you are hated by a majority. Oba rascal carry go. |
ityP:Here, take handkerchief... You go need am well well. |
Tinubuadvocate:Stop crying and focus on your activities. Nigeria don die tey tey... We go helep bury am. |
OP, don't allow what you see here on nairaland decide your decision on the current happenings in Biafran land. Majority of Ndigbo understand the divide and rule strategy of Nigeria. It can be quite frustrating to see some of our simple minded folks falling for it but believe that most of those ones will get the true message when IPOB and ESN decides to suspend activities. Ndigbo are an enigmatic people and there's nothing out enemies can do about it. Time and events will clear the eyes of naive folks among us. My happiness is that Nigeria can never move forward with terrorists controlling her. Genocide will continue to happen and many tribes wiped off the surface of the earth. Lamentations will continue in the land as destitution descends on her. Ndigbo will certainly outlive Nigeria as long as we hold on strongly among ourselves. South Sudan faced worst than what we're facing and fought from a disadvantaged point for over 50years until they finally got their freedom. We will get ours eventually. Nigeria is dead already as we can clearly see. Her internment is only what may tarry. Hold on strong bro and always be ready to answer the call when Biafra calls you. |

;DThis does not change the fact that you are an eternally cursed bororo bastard who has been using taquiya to pretend to be Igbo, bcus you wish others suffer the same thing your NE is suffering from.
