MyPWisINCORRECT:
The Igbo ethnic group must be reminded that Port Harcourt City is no longer a district in the old eastern region but a city in South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria (take note: not Biafra)

We the good people of Port Harcourt on this day, distance ourselves from the planned IPOB-Trump solidarity protest slated to hold in Port Harcourt on Friday, 20th January, 2017.

We advise our Igbo brethrens to organize such protests in any of the following Igbo state-capital cities of Abakaliki, Enugu, Awka, Owerri or Umuahia.

We also call on every relevant security apparatus to clamp down on any protester and the full weight of the law should be meted on such persons.

I must reiterate that the good people of Port Harcourt and Rivers State at large are not part of this protest and no part of our territory will be ceded to the Igbos for any reason whatsoever.

Thank you.
Oh really? Maybe you can then tell us what district 'Igweocha' was before the place was renamed Portharcourt, long before there was anythibg called South/South, long before Lord Lugard created Nigeria. If yoy cannot tell us the original district it was in then shame on to you. You wont go and mind your village and ethnic group, you are busy attaching your self by force in the name of South/South.

U have no evidence to prove that everybody celebrated the coup, the igbos where the only ones who celebrated it. It is only a person that is not reasonable that will support a coup carried out by the military. Before the coup, Nigeria was at least democratic and practiced real federalism, so no sane mind would support a coup that curtail my freedom in the name of revolution against corruption. The igbos supported it because if the coup had succeeded, the igbos would have hijacked the leadership of Nigeria in every way. Back then the igbos led every institution available. They were some of the most educated back then, and where top in the military. It was greed and overzealous behavior that made ur kinsmen orchestrate the coup. That feeling that u are better than the northerners. U people still have that behavior till today.
Why are you comnenting out of ignorance? Are you this daft? Go and read Madiebos book, 'The Nigerian Revolution and and the Biafran war' Madiebo was with Nzeogwu in the situation room in Kaduna, read the book and find out the mood in Kaduna. Go and read Philip Effiongs "Biafra:My story". Philip Effiong was in Lagos along Victor Banjo. Read Hillary Njokus 'Tragedy without heroes' Njoku was with Aguiyi Ironsi and Gowon when the coup was unfolding. Go and read what people who were on the ground at the time said then come back and comment instead of commenting out of ignorance like most of your Yoruba brothers.

By 1964 and 1965, the situation in Nigeria was very bad. There was serious violence in the west, Awolowo was in jail, corruption was very high. Young officers led by Nzeogwu who were disgusted with what they saw then struck on 15th January 1966. It is very important to note that Nzeogwu and co had no intention of holding power for themselves. Infact, we now know that what they wanted was to release Awolowo and make him Nigerian leader. When Nigeria heeard about the coup, there was national jubilation and Nzeogwu became a national hero. Ironsi however foiled the coup in Lagos which ultimately caused the coup to fail nationally.

Nationwide? The northerners did not celebrate it, that's why they gathered in Unity to slaughter and kill the igbos everywhere they found them. As far as I know, there was no celebration in Lagos and other Yoruba states. Ask ur self why did the northerners attacked only the igbos, why did they not attack the Yoruba people? The igbos were the only ones who celebrated coup wildly as if u people just won the World Cup. U people even went to the extent of mocking and taunting the northerners with cartoons of how Nzeogwu defeated the northerners
That why I told you to go and do your reserch well. Immidiately after the coup, there was wild jubilation nationwide even in Kaduna. Nzeogwu became a national hero at first. Everbody from North to West to East celebrated the coup. It was only months later that some people started reading ethnic meaning into the coup. Everybody celebtated the coup at first including Igbos.

Keep quite. Do u want to deny the fact that there was wild celebration in the east after the coup? The truth is that the Igbos supported the coup because they saw it was their kit and kin who carried it out. It was ur celebrations in the north that led them to butcher u people there
Go back in history abd you will find out that there was was wild jubilation nationwide at the coup. Nzeogwus coup was well recieved by everyone at first, so you have no point.

shehuolayinka:
Today in 1966, set in motion of destruction of Nigeria. It’s actually 51 years-old, since the first coup was carried out by some disgruntled military personnel.

The coup d’etat of January 15 1966, truncated and set us back a thousand years, as we began a journey of mistrust that exist among us.

It brought about the ethno-regional distrust and conflict that has engulfed Nigeria. It Pitted neighbours against each other, gave birth to the Nigeria we know of today.

It changed the Nigeria political landscape. Changed the people thinking and birthed the odd ideas in mind of every Nigerian till date.

It truncated the peace, harmony that existed within us and set in motion of a series of new way of looking at ourselves, a new way of thinking by those that has held the country at a jugular. Think about it, Nigeria actually lost everything after the coup of 1966, as every region, tribe and religion started the self-distrust madness.

It also brought about the civil War that killed millions of people, the following coups and counter coups.

Ushered in a new Northern Nigeria, repugnant, as it has since been on path of backwardness, as the effort of the Saudarna of Sokoto in having Northern Nigeria catch up with other regions, was greatly affected, as his death seem to go with his idea of a better northern Nigeria. Everything met a brick wall. Education of it people and lifting them from the parochial state, was badly affected, leaving the region and its people in a dejected.
Stop all these lies. While the January 15th coup is nothing to celebrate, its not like all was well before it. This classic Yoruba propaganda that Nigeria was this wonderful, peaceful and loving place before the January 15th coup came along and changed everything must be debunked. There was already fire on the mountain.

1)The 1945 Kano massacre
2) The 1953 Jos killings
3) Violent fall out of the 1963 Census
4) The 1964 violence in the Western Region
5) Opration 'Wetie' in 1965

All these are are examples of violent and bloody uprisings leading up to the first coup. Nigeria was already heading for a Car Crash before January 15th abd it would have crashed regardless of if the first coup happend or not

I think it is really stupid for anyobe to say that what a few Igbo officers did on the 15th of July 1966 represents the entire Igbo nation. Where these officers acting on behalf of the Igbo nation? So why call it an Igbo coup? What ethnic group were Major Ademoyega, Captain Adeleke and Lt Oyewole who all participated in the coup? I will never support a coup plotter but people should stop distorting issues. It was not an Igbo coup because the the coupists had no mandate from the Igbo nation to conduct any coup.

On this day in 1966, the Igbos killed the leaders of other region and told the world Angel Michael protected theirs, in their bid to enforce their nepotism on the whole country, which is further demonstrated by the centralization of government by Ironsi.

Igbos willfully and conscientiously truncated our nascent democracy of then. This was the beginning of the problem of this country.

They need to apologize to other Nigerians and also pay reparation for the damage they caused the country.
Funnily enough, ever since that coup, the rest of you Nigerians have been chasing Igbos that you must do "one Nigeria" with them. Infact, the federal Government came down to the East where the Igbos were enjoying their new found freedom to fight for 3 years to bring the Igbos back into 'one Nigeria'.

So if Igbo caused all the problems in Nigeria but all of you are still chasing the Igbo man for 'one Nigeria', then it is time for Nigerians to do the needfull. Bow to the great Igbo nation and admit you cant do without us!

You people just think others are blind to your selfish, hateful, arrogant and intolerant shenanigans. They shouldn't stop at hope, they should be obedient and take up arms as their caged misguider instructed and come and take Biafra like their ancestors. We are waiting, ndi ara.
Come of it. The agitation has been there since Obasunjo times. Its a well known fact that Uwazuruike and MASSOB gave Obasunjo a lot of headache so dont make this out like it started because GEJ lost elections. The agitation was there long before GEJ came along.

You people that put all your eggs in Buhari, how market? Is Nigeria a better place today? Is it more united? Is there less suffering? Is there hope?

We Igbos have been vindicated that we made the right choice by standing GEJ, he was the better president.

Who cares about political relevance? How much was I buying a bag of rice in GEJ times and how much am I buying it now? What was the Dollar/Naira rate before the dullardarian of Daura came in? What was the unemployment rate? Hunger is killing people and you are talking about political relevancy, who cares about that? Those who have been politically relevant in the past, how has that helped them?

Nigeria is a sinking ship and the Biafrans are the only ones wearing life-jackets.

Some of them actually believe that Trump will raise and army to attack Nigeria, capture Buhari, declare Biafra Republic, kill all Muslims , visit with the PMof Israel and maybe make Biafra second home.
When you believe in SHAM fraudster like Kanu you will believe any lie your mind tells you.
Well, you have to give them one thing, they still believe or hope that one day, freedom will be theirs. Thats more than the average Nigerian can ever hope for. This is not about Nnamdi Kanu as much as it is about people hoping for a new begining. Nigeria has been a hopeless 56 year old disaster and which will never work. Only a deluded person will believe that one day, the Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa-Fulani man will one day shed their religeous, ideological, traditional, cultural and ethnic differences and embrace each other to build a progressive nation. Who is kidding who about that? It is just not possible and we have alrealdy killed each other in the millions to prove it.

You may call Kanu a fraudster but at the end of the day, the mans message if very simple. His message is, 'The fact that Lugard brought us together does not mean we must all die being together'

We can all shake hands, wish each other well and go back to how we were before Lugard came. God knows we were much happier and didnt kill each other in the millions back then.

Kanu is not a fraudster, he is just someone who says the truth many do not want hear........ the union of Nigeria does not work.

IPod yoots are butt sore because he sponsored the civil war
As an Igbo man I still wonder, what is the point of of all Awolowos achievement if he still submitted himself and his fellow Yorubas to be slaves if the North?

If this man was so great, why didnt he preach and tell his people the essense of of self determination? His own greatness started and stopped with 'one Nigeria'? Or being second fiddle to Gowon who was young enough to be his son? How can anyone say Awolowo is a great man but he it was beyond him to lead to the Yoruba nation to self rule? I think Awolowo could never rise above Northern domination so his greatness is only limited to the Western Region.

Gov Obiano Remains National Leader of APGA, No Intention of Defecting to any other Party.

Unlike many other unsteady characters in our political terrain, Gov Willie Obiano of Anambra State has remained consistent in his resolve to change the fortunes of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.

His tenure as the National Leader has seen the party spread to Bayelsa, Taraba, Abia and other states as well as the Federal Capital Territory, a feat he achieved in less than 2 years.

While we commemorated the passing of our fallen Heroes and Heroines through Ozoemezina anniversary yesterday, a few paid agents whose stock in trade is to dish out lies against the governor and government of Anambra State, took the opportunity to spread all forms of lies.

They claimed that our hardworking governor had gone to London to open a new home and that he plans to join another party.

These claims are nothing but a planned agenda by the enemies of the State to confuse the gullible public. The claims are false!

It's becoming clearer to every Onye Anambra that the only thing the opposition can offer is attack on the person and office of the governor of our dear State. They lack clear cut plan of how they can better the future of ndi Anambra.

Recall that these paid "attack dogs" have in their futile attempts to blackmail the governor insulted our revered clergy including the Bishops; our respected traditional rulers and cherished statesmen.

They attack anyone that stands for the truth and shows support for the willingly working Willie. Thus, their attacks aren't new and as such they need are prayers.

While we pray that God saves the souls of these misguided ethugs, I want to assure us that Gov Obiano remains a member of APGA and has no intention of leaving the party.

Also, governor Obiano did not acquire any house in London neither did he travel to the United Kingdom to commission any home.

As a people, our collective interest is best protected in APGA.

With governor Obiano, we're Moving Forward.

Of course Obiano cant defect, where will he defect to? Is it to PDP and back to his estwhile leader Peter Obi? Is it APC? A party that is highly detested and hated by Ndi Anambra and one which only has Ngige as its only notable member? Obiano has no where to defect to and it is likely that the only threath to his winning a second term is if Biafran supporters can forgive him for the way he treated the IPOB shootings.

The Nigerian Amalgamation in 1914 whether accidental or deliberate has succeeded in bonding us together as a nation which to some extent has some positive and negative implication but there is nothing anybody can do, more so we are not the first this kind of thing will happen to. The issue is since this bond has taken place for over a century, it will be disservice, unhelpful for us as citizens to continue to breed discomfort and hatred amongst ourselves. We should be thinking as a nation or as citizens that could ignore their differences towards developing and taking the nation to an unimaginable height. Issues of hatred of one another couldn't solve issues rather it will degenerate our aspirations or hope of development. There is no need for pointing accusing fingers at one another, as the nation has no time, because of paucity of time, mundane and self-centred issues such as tribalism, religious differences will not transform the country to meet up with other developed nations. we must bury this stagnations thinking or elements who could not equally advance our cause as a nation even though most of these activities are politically motivated foiled by elites, but the common man in the grassroots be it any tribe will continue their business anywhere they find themselves.

We should always think positive to build this nation devoid of such kind of allegations and counter allegation for the interest of everyone one thing we forget to tell ourselves is, there is nothing anyone can do to reverse the trend. Therefore all citizens should see themselves as brothers and sisters to close ranks as a mitigating instrument that will advance our unionism. It is time to avoid criticisms and uncomplimentary comments for us to strengthen our democratic principles and act as patriotic citizens to champion a common national goal as against personal or regional goal. Citizens work as one from one country because when you go out of the shores of this country, the first question you will be asked is where are you coming from and the answer is always Nigeria not Abia, Oyo or Kano why shouldn't we behave in this spirit and take ourselves as one. God should bless us and make us know our values, identify our talents and help us to always think Nigeria.
