WORDWORLD: Heroes are not what the world needs anymore. The days of HERO and HERO worship has long ago been over. Humanity has evolved. What the world needs today are people with GOOD IDEAS. Can any IPOB kindly tell us what the BIAFRAN IDEOLOGY is? If it is all about TRIBE, being IGBO then thats no IDEOLOGY at all but PURE SENTIMENT which only speaks of a people who have refused to grow.
So, can anyone tell us something outside being TRIBALISTIC? The ideology is simple, but a Nigerian like you is not likely to understand it even in the next 1000 years. The ideology of Biafra is freedom. Freedom to choose your name, your country, who you associate with, system of government and constitution. As a 'Nigerian', it was a white man called Lugard who chose your name for you, he chose your country for you, he decided who will be in this country and who you associate with. The British then decided the system of Government which they handed over to the North who later decided the constitution. But with Biafra, nobody forced me to choose it, I chose it freely. In other words, as a Nigerian, you are a mere "British product" But as a Biafran, I am an African product. |

wirinet: The 1957 constitutional conference agreed to one Nigeria. Ironically it was the Igbos that pushed for one Nigeria, the hausa-fulanis were not interested. Strangely still, it was the Igbos that change the confederational structure that was agreed at the 1957 conference to a UNITARY system after the January 1966 coup.
When the Igbos obtain power or feel they at an advantage, they promote UNITY, but immediately they lose out in the power game, they scream secession. You have it twisted. The constitutional conference was just an agreement on the rules that guide us when the British left in 1960. It was never an agreement where the ethnic groups gave up their sovreignty. There is a big diference between 'living together' and 'being married'. We have have been living together but never married. There is nothing binding us together |

ElsonMorali: If my questions sound stupid to you it's probably because your skull is too thick to allow anything in.
Which questions are important then?
The police should fold their arms and watch a group of law-breakers cause mayhem?
The authorities who have sworn to protect lives and properties of citizens should smile and nod their heads in approval while you guys go on a rampage?
Your solidarity walk, how far? Has it given you the Biafra?
Screengrab my earlier response, frame it on your bedroom wall, meditate on it day and night, call your IPOB elders to come and join you to contemplate it, because until there's a measure of intelligence in your struggle, more people from your side will continue to die needlessly.
But I'm sure you can't see that.
All you see and want people to comment on is that people have been killed.
They are dead. A sensible group will think of how to prevent the next massacre.
But then, Biafra screamers aren't all that sensible, are they? Law breakers? How did they break the law? They came out, waved Biafran flags, supported Donald Trump? If this is breaking the law to you then grab a copy of the Nigerian constitution and read chapter 4. People are allowed to demonstrate for any reason, be it Biafra, Donald Trump or that it didnt snow in Sahara desert. We are all allowed to demonstrate for whatever reason. A Sensible group would think about how to prevent the next massacre? Then how sensible are you when you dont even know that it is the Nigerian police and Army, who are paid to preserve life, are the ones shooting and killing unarmed people? You are not even sensible enough to realise that it is a cardinal sin for the armed forces to shoot at anyone who is unarmed? Wether in a war situation or not. Firing a gun is only last resort, there are many things a security personel should do before they aim their weapons at civilians and shoot in a non combatant situation. Why did they have to kill people? People went on rampage in Washington yesterday that Trump was sworn in, even worse than IPOB protest in Portharcourt, nobody was shot at or killed. Since Nigerians operate on diffent scale than America Let them leave Biafrans alone to operate on the American scale and Donald Trump? Just because Lord Lugard came in 1914 to say we are all Nigerians does not mean Luagard was right. Lugard wasnt even African but many West Africans still choose to answer the name he formulated and claim the country he created as their country. Why? Why should an Igbo/Hausa/Yoruba man still be answering the name of Lugard and claiming what the British chap created as their country? But whenever the Igbo man says he would like to forge his own path along with the minorities who are comfortable with him The Hausa and Yoruba man will shout "Lord Lugard made us one and that we must remain forever" How can Yorubas and Hausas still have this sort of colonial mentality in 2017? |

I'm wondering when this people will sit themselves down and ask, "is there a more intelligent way of achieving this without sacrificing our able-bodied children"
Something tells me I'll grow white whiskers waiting. Why are you asking all these stupid questions without asking the ones that are important? Why should the Nigerian security agencies shoot unarmed people? Is that their job? Are they allowed to shoot unarmed people under the constitution? What is wrong with people like you? He believes GEJ is his godfather and messiah, yet Ijaw people where GEJ comes from have moved on and doesn't give a hoot about Biafra. Mr IPOB dons Jewish garb and clutches the bible while singing Christian praise songs. He is dying for Donald Trump on the streets of Nigeria while Americans in America are protesting against Donald Trump. The IPOB youth belongs to PDP and hates Hausa Fulani and Buhari supporters, yet PDP has zoned 2019 Presidency to the north. Mr. IPOB supports the activities of militants and vandals who sabotage the economy, yet he complains about lack of dollars to do his import business. I can go on. Dont be stupid, Ojukwu never founded any political party in his life. GEJ is no Godfather anywhere, not even in Ijawland where he comes from. GEJ is just simply a better option than Buhari. Im sure the the additional suffering Nigerians are experiencing since Buhari came in is enough evidence for this. You say Ijaw doesnt care about Biafra? Respected Ijaw high chief and former militant leader, Asari Dokubo, is a big supporter of Biafra. Many Ijaw people call into Radio Biafra many night, pledging to Biafra. Dying for Donald Trump? But it is your Nigerian security forces who are the ones shooting, killing and murdering unarmed people. Or is there anyone doing the killing here? IPOB is about the freedom of the people who make up SE/SS geopoiltical zone (with the exception of Edo State). Localising it to an 'Igbo thing' is for ignorant people. FREEDOM! |

Afriifa: a nice point and i presume also coming from an intelligent mind. Now listen. Now even in marriage a court of law has to deliver a verdict before a divorce, and ofcourse there must be a valid reason for such to take place. Now i am asking you "what are your reasons for seeking this divorce"? If they are selfish reasons then consider the court to throw your the complaint aside and ask you to go solve your problems amicably with your supposed husband(Nigeria). I call that "Unity" In this case, there was never even any wedding to even talk about divorce. The only people who are entitled to divorce are those who at some time signed a document pledging unity to each other. In the case of Nigeria, we were all forced together by the British, we never agreed to any binding agreement to the union of Nigeria. In 1707, the kindom of Scotland, Wales and England came together and signed "The Act Of Union" that produced the United Kindom, our colonial masters. They agreed and signed to be together. On the 4th of July 1776, the leaders of the 13 colonies that made up America came together and signed a document called "The American Declaration Of Independence" in which the 13 colonies decided to unite and this created 'The United States Of America'. They agreed to be together Now when and where did the Hausa/Yoruba/Igbo man come together and agree to 'one Nigeria'? What this means is that if none of us ever agreed to be together, anyone is free to go their way. To hold someone against their will when there is no binding agreement of unity simply means "imprisonment" |

But "my question is will he continue to disrupt Nigeria's Unity and cause Disunity when released?" If the answer is Yes, Then he deserves a death "sentence" Unity is not something that is forced, it has to be something that is willingly and freely accepted. When unity is forced, it is no longer unity but imprisonment. Nnamdi Kanu is just one man. If one man can disrupt the unity of Nigeria then it means that Nigeria is not a united country but a forced marriage. No happiness ever comes from a forced marriage. |

APCmyheart: We have been here before the name Nigeria was created, We are Nigeria and Nigeria must still stand..
The below is the speech of Philip Effiong Biafra Acting President then...
Effiong's Speech to Gowon
On January 15, 1970 at Dodan Barracks in Lagos, in the presence of General Gowon, Effiong announced the end of the Biafran conflict.
"I, Major-General Phillip Efiong, Officer Administering the Government of the Republic of Biafra, now wish to make the following declaration: That we affirm that we are loyal Nigerian citizens and accept the authority of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria. That we accept the existing administrative and political structure of the Federation of Nigeria. That any future constitutional arrangement will be worked out by representatives of the people of Nigeria. That the Republic of Biafra hereby ceases to exist."[1]
At the time of the surrender, Effiong believed that the situation was hopeless and that prolonging the conflict would have led only to the further destruction and starvation of the people of Biafra. At that time Effiong said, "I am convinced now that a stop must be put to the bloodshed which is going on as a result of the war. I am also convinced that the suffering of our people must be brought to an immediate end."[2]
Nnaemeka L. Aneke wrote, "General Efiong’s handling of Biafra’s surrender is one of the most tactical and devoted maneuvers ever seen on the Nigerian scene. Those who do not appreciate the depth of it may not have appreciated what was at stake as Biafra capitulated."[3] Many observers had expected wholesale retribution at war's end. Can you remind me something, what were you people called before Lord Lugard and the British decided to call you people Nigerians? |

Go to youtube and see how anti trump supporters attacked police and Army yesterday in Washington and nobody was shot at or killed. You are here defending the Nigerian Army and Police for commiting murder in Portharcourt just because Nigerians are uncivilised people who have no regard for life. What I said in bolded is true. The name 'Nigeria' is a name you stole from the white man without his permission, the country called Nigeria is an invention of the white man that has long been stolen by west Africans like you. Who gave you the permission to answer the name and country created by Lord Lugard? You are not ashamed of your self that in this 21st century, you are still answering a name the white man gave you and claiming the geographic space the white man created as you country? When the secessionist decides not to carry on with the colonial figment called 'Nigeria', you tell him he is wrong. Why? Because Lord Lugard came to tell you in 1914 that we are all Nigerians and you have no sense of self determination to realise it is your right, and not Lugards, to decide who you are. My thoughts on this is that ipob should stop wasting these lives, if you cannot guarantee an orderly rally. lyricalpontiff: IS BIAFRA THE ENSLAVEMENT OF MINORITY ETHNIC NATIONALITIES OR WHAT?
In his book - 'There Was A Country', Professor Chinua Achibe asserted that the concept of Biafra failed from the very beginning because Odimegwu Ojukwu declared a 'premature' war on Nigeria. The late literary icon strressed that Ojukwu's refusal to consult with neighbouring ethnic nationalities before embarking on his 3 years fruitless secessionist campaign led to the avoidable death of so many Igbos, especially in Port Harcourt.
How can you be talking of Biafra in Port Harcourt without first seeking for the consent and support of the Ikwerre ethnic nationality - the original land owners of Port Harcourt? Even the British - our colonial masters had to sign an agreement with my forefathers when they landed on this shore; how much more our Igbo brothers who are now agitating for Biafra?
You can't be talking of marginalisation in Nigeria, while you malign, despise and disrespect minority ethnic nationalities in your own backyard. How can you import people from Abia State to come and protest over the heads of the indigenous people of Rivers State?
Who told you that Ikwerre people are interested in your Biafra?? I own a copy of "there was a country" by achinua Achebe and I cannot remember reading anywhere that Ojukwu declared war on anybody. The truth must be told! 1) Ojukwu never declared war on anybody throughout his military carreer. It was Nigeria that declared war on Biafra. It was Nigeria that came to the East to fight Ojukwu 2) Ojukwu sought and recieved the consent of all the minorities in the old Eastern Nigeria. Ojukwu did this through the Eastern Nigeria consultative forum, a body that represented the 20 provinces that made up the Eastern Region. They voted and gave Ojukwu the mandate to declare Biafra 3) Ojukwu did everything he could to avoid war. Ojukwu went Ghana to sign the Aburi agreement with Gowon which Gowon did not honour, Ojukwu offered Gowon plebicite and referendum but Gowon refused. 4) Abia and Rivers are just mere creations of past military Rulers, they dont mean anything. Only a fool says they are from 'Rivers state'. What is Rivers state? Something created by Gowon. Hiw can Gowon award someone an identity called "Rivers state indigene"? Isnt that madness? 5) Biafra has never been an "Igbo only thing". The last president of Biafra, General Philip Effiong, was not an Igbo man. The two most senior men in the Government of Biafra after Ojukwu were, Philip Effiong deputy leader and Mr NU Akpan, Chief Secretary. Both men were not Igbos. 6) IPOB has said it many times that it wants a referendun in the SE/SS area (with the exception of Edo state). So how can a referendum mean 'by force'? What happend in Portharcourt was a rally for Biafra. If at the end of the day, the Ikwerre or any other minority think that they are better of in Nigeria, they should vote in the referendum to stay in Nigeria and let those who want to go to go their way. Biafra is not a 'by force' thing like Nigeria. This thread is useless. |
