Politics › Re: Abia Guber: INEC Rejects Appeal Judgment, Says Ikpeazu Not Otti Won Election by zendy: 8:52am On Jan 25, 2016
Abagworo:
I like Ikpeazu and support Ngwas in their quest to govern a State which they are part of but if Supreme court gives Otti victory it should be respected. Ikpeazu has left a very good impression of Ngwa people in the heart of people like me who truly have Igbo interest at heart. He has proven that Aba can be redeemed by a serious Government.
The supreme court is the 'final Bus stop' in judicial affairs and their decision must be respected. It remains to be seen who will carry the day between Ikpeazu and Otti.

No be IBO start the coup, no be Ibo start the civil war? You stage a coup and killl people from a particular section and dont expect retaliation? you start a war and dont expect casualities? Nobody brought war to your doorsteps, IGBOS started the civil war!! Blame your leaders (Ojukwu er al) for their selfishness in starting a war they were not equipped to win and Nzeogu, Zik and others who were aware of the coup for the massacre of Northerners that resulted in the counter coup.
How was it an Igbo coup? major Ademoyega,Captain Adeleke and Lt Oyewole sound Igbo to you? They all participated in the coup. How did Ojukwu start a war when it was Gowon that declared war and came down to the east to fight? Who ever is the one who starts shooting first, therefore, Gowon started the war.

Soliciting arms to attack a country in public huh That's a big crime ! It's called treason grin It's punishable by death in Nigeria
I suggest you go and read the constitution well. Soliciting for arms is not a crime. What is a crime is getting arms and what you do with it. But the solicitation its self is not a crime. It's like saying that you want to rob a bank. You cannot be charged to court for bank robbery just because you said you want to do it.

MayorofLagos:
I read news almost daily now of youths getting shot and killed in East. This is not a happy moment at all and no one who cherishes life will sit by and watch children killed like this. This is getting out of hand.

The elders of Iboland need to converge at home...in Iboland...not in Lagos and not in Abuja, but in the heartland of Igbo and come up with a way forward. If their desire is for independence then they should rally a pr message that outlines in their favor a palatable argument for independence. If their desire is to remain in Nigeria then they should hold rally in each state of Igboland and address their people on the way forward.

Dont leave these children alone to their fate to be wasted by bullets, the elders ought to shield them from the risks.

Yoruba say....Agba kin wa l'oja k'ori omo tuntun wo!
There is no English equivalent for this adage but in effect it is a admonish calling the elder to protect the interest of its future.

****

i just find it irritating that the soldiers are killing people over there everyday and looks like they are taking liberty in the elders silence to escalate the killing. Shyyte! angry
Guns do not shoot themselves. Instead of writting this long epistle, start asking who is shooting the guns. Who is doing the killings? Why are security forces shooting unarmed people who are exercising their legitimate right to peaceful protest. Start asking the question of why the armed forces are shooting the very people they are paid the protect

Sorry but that is not a crime. Nobody can commit treason just by mere 'talking'. Soliciting for arms is one thing, actually getting arms and fighting the government is another thing. So far, all Kanu did was 'talk'. It is not possible to jail a person for talking.

Politics › Re: See Why We Want Change And Not Rule Of Law by zendy: 1:03am On Jan 16, 2016
OP, if you want to live in a Nigeria where a president acts like a dictator and openly defied the rule of law then that's fine. However, what you should ask the rest of the ethnic nationalities is if they too want to live in that type of Nigeria. You have to remember that the Yoruba/Hausa/Igbo man are not Nigerians out of free choice but by the will of the British. So, if you feel Buharis approach is the best, start asking the rest of us what we want. Buhari and Nigeria, or maybe we want something entirely different from the two?
Politics › Re: How Nzeogwu’s 1966 Coup Changed Nigeria Forever by zendy: 5:24pm On Jan 15, 2016
Nigerians should stop all these lies about history because it really helps no one:

1) There was serious political upheaval in Nigeria as a result of the 1964 elections and this spilled into 1965. Nzeogwu and co got fed up and struck in January 1966. I'm not going to justify any coup but Nzeogwu did not strike because there was peace in Nigeria.

2) unlike all coups that later followed, Nzeogwus coup had nothing to do with siezing political power.

3) In every coup, majority of the ring leaders are usually from the same section of the country. It was the same with Nzeogwu, Murtala,Dimka, Buhari and Orkah coups. The ring leaders in each case were, Igbo, Hausas, middle belt, Hausas and Southern minorities respectively.

4) Was Nzeogwus coup an Igbo coup? How come I never hear people call Murtalas coup an 'Hausa coup'? Or Dimkas coup a 'middle belt coup'? Or Orkhas coup a 'South-South coup'? Nzeogwus coup was not an Igbo coup because he was not acting for or on behalf of Igbos!

5) In the counter coup, the Northerners slaughtered over 300 Igbo officers to avenge the killing of their political leaders. Why didn't it end there? Why did they have to carry on killing as much 50,000 innocent Easterners who didn't even know who Nzeogwu was?

6) why did Gowon break the Aburi agreement he signed with Ojukwu which was meant to prevent war?

7) why did Gowon start the civil war by coming down to the East to fight when he could have called for another meeting with Ojukwu?

These questions need answering

That is where Nigerians get it wrong. Igbos staged no coup. Nzeogwu and co may have been Igbo but they were not speaking for Igbos. The 50,000 easterners massacred didn't even know who Nzeogwu was, besides, only a very stupid person will think that a coup is an excuse to kill 50,000 innocent civilians. Other people have since conducted coups that killed political leaders, nobody massacred their ethnic group.

BTW, Nigeria started the war because it was Nigeria that came down to the east to fight. Easterners were enjoying their new found freedom when Gowon brought down Soldiers to the east to start shooting. Nigerians should stop lying about Nigerian history

Let's all not forget that Nzeogwu and co did not get up one fine day and started conducting a coup. There was already trouble in the land before then. The 1964 elections brought violence upon Nigeria and this spilled into 1965 with widespread killings particularly in the western region. By 1966, Nzeogwu had had a enough and struck. Nigeria was far from a peaceful country at the time

The man reads his dictionary like text book. But I still wonder how he managed to get his degree in law, because his communication skill is near zero. Communication is complete when a reader comprehends what you have to say. I love reading articles by mass comm and English specialists. But igodomigodo, to me, is simply a dressing and Grammer comedian.
Communication is a 2 way thing. One person has to be saying something that can be understood, and the other has to understand. In the case of Obahiagbon, he is saying something that can be understood, the fact that many people don't understand should not be the man's problem. It would have been a different thing if the man was talking gibberish, but he is not. So everyone should aspire to catch up with him.

Politics › Re: Abia Gubernatorial Election Tribunal Judgement by zendy: 2:19pm On Jan 14, 2016
Having read this judgment, Ikpeazu has no case at the supreme court. Ikpeazu is an Ngwa man and Obingwa, Isialangwa and Osisioma are all his strongholds. In his bid to rig his stronghold, he virtually rigged himself out of Goverment house by 'over voting'. Below says it all

The law is that once over-voting is established, results of those areas must be cancelled, and if the leading candidate has enough spread constitutionally, he will be declared a winner.
So they subtracted Ikpeazus area which left Alex Otti as the only person to have majority votes in 2/3rds of the election. Ikpeazu should start looking for the trailer that will remove his belongings from Government House instead of wasting his time at the Supreme Court.

Emeka Ugwuonye has been having problems with FGN for years. It culminated in the sack of Farida Waziri as the EFCC chairperson after late Ambassador Adefuye connived (through a letter evidence) with her to have Emeka detained in Nigeria for months.

The issue is about $1.5m due to the Nigerian Embassy, that Emeka confiscated because he claimed that FGN owed him the money for services he rendered defending ex-Head of State Gen. Abubakar in the US court. It is a very complicated case.

I believe the main problem was that some interested parties wanted some share of the money but Emeka refused to part with a dime. And they went for his jugular. The case is very complicated else Emeka would have been in jail for tampering with IRS tax refund. There are too many missing links in the whole story. One thing that is certain is that Emeka is very troublesome and showy.
/
One thing I agree with is that is that the U.S. don't take too kindly to tax fraud. If this Emeka had committed tax fraud in the US to the tune $1.5 million, he would have been sitting in an American jail by now not to talk of traveling to Nigeria from the US.

It is not easy for African leaders to willingly leave state house after one term without being thrown out. The only African I can recall who left after one term is Mandela. Buhari can tap inspiration from Mugabe who has been in office for 35 years and is his 90's. It will be a miracle if Buhari doesn't seek a second term.
